It's finally time! I thought we should definitely have it before Christmas at latest and as things are easing off at this end I feel we have just enough time to do it before the festive period properly kicks in after next week. The voting period won't be as long as usual but on the other hand the forum is a lot more active than it is when we usually do this so hopefully we'll still get plenty of votes.

Since we had so many threads in France earlier this year I made a comment in one that they might as well have their own category this year, so why not?

For the best thread name, funnily enough.

An individual award for the best Manager.

Best FMCU Career Thread
For the best overall thread, regardless of type.

The rules are as follows...

1. Send me all of your votes to be carefully recorded and scrutinised as the stats geek that I am.

2. No voting for yourself or anything related to your threads.

3. You can vote for older threads if they haven't won an award before.

4. Invalid votes will just be ignored without warning.

5. Since this is for the previous FM year, I should add only threads created before the FM22 Beta release will be eligible. FM22 threads will have their time next year.

6. You do not have to vote in every category.

I want to do the awards night on Saturday December 18th (any later and we're essentially hitting Christmas). That means that votes have to be in by 6am GMT on that day.

I know we have a sort function - but is there any way to filter? Most saves have the [FM21] and, whilst I know I can search for this, I’d love to filter on this sub forum to have a proper read through some before I vote.

When I go through and do my research/recap before voting, does @deltablueor anyone else mind if I drop some links in here for suggestions as who to vote for? (Not my own threads obviously). I just know it's hard to vote in all sections sometimes if what you like reading about is a little limited. I know I'd appreciate it if others did this, but also appreciate that it's not how we've done things in the past. What doe we think?

I can’t say I have ever voted in one of these previously but now being much more engaged in the forum as an active poster, I would love to vote. It would certainly be very useful for people like myself if this was possible - particularly in the newcomer category.

In the past I've not been in favour of that because it means people are voting on someone else's opinions and choices but that would probably be a good idea, especially since it means we don't get clogged up with as many options that have just a single vote as some categories in the past. If it helps more peope vote than it would be a good idea as well, especially as no one has voted yet! Not that I've been in much of a position to process votes until later tomorrow (which is when I'll have my Christmas shopping day) anyway

This would be great I think. 

I also have a suggestion if that's fine. Wanted to propose moving the awards to mirror the FM release cycle. For example if this was done end October the FM21 threads would be much fresher in people's minds. Also people tend to be playing less at the end of a games cycle and hence may have more time to spend catching up on threads while they decide on their votes.

That's how we've always done it. It's just this year where the timing wasn't convenient and no one else was stepping in so I thought that this was the last proper opportunity to do it.

If there are people you're considering voting for then you can just look on their profile either for the date they joined or a list of threads they've created (since I'd be amazed if that was a mod-only thing). That'll confirm whether they're eligible or not.

OK guys, those two sets of votes are the only ones I had. Given the activity on the forums it's disappointing to see the lack of engagement. Tomorrow evening is really the last 'free' one I have before everything gets busy for Christmas so while I can let people vote up to that afternoon I really can't delay it any further. I'll probably have to cancel it if there aren't a bunch more votes in the next day or so.
