Fantastic - looking forward to this one (again).

My only point would be to specifically state what the game setup should be.

If you are making things like player attribute masking optional then it'll make the first 3 or 4 seasons for those people who disable masking very very easy.  Being able to see all player attributes is a huge advantage.

Ideally, everyone should have exactly the same game setup to make manager performance comparable e.g. the only boxes that should be checked are "Add players to playable teams" and "Prevent use of the in-game editor".  Everything else should be unchecked.

---

I was looking to manage Redcar Athletic but they moved to level 9 as part of last season's re-structure.  Alternatively, Leeds City, but they stayed at level 11 .. so I'll have to find someone else.

I will leave it up to the individual if they want attribute masking on or off.

OK, no problem .. I guess my point was it's a big effort to create the level 10 database so make it a challenge.  It seems pointless just to load the database, give yourself the option of seeing every player attribute and spend the first week winning 4 consecutive promotions because all you have to do is pick the best players and stick them on a non-contract.

Here we go.  I may make this a youth only save also just to see how it goes.

Was thinking about making it a youth save too .. my team (Carlisle City) are for some reason amateur as opposed to semi-professional - they are 1 of only 2 sides (the other being Newcastle University) in my 21 team division that are amateur - so despite trialling 30-40 players during the friendlies everyone I've offered a "contract" to rejected it in favour of a club willing to pay them to play .. and that's understandable.

Im thinking of making all player contracts Amateur at Level 10 in the next update as well as staff, What do you think?

I noticed staff are on £50 a week which will make clubs lose money quite quickly.

I think this is a good idea for Level 10.

I've re-started on the new database.

I was doing well on the previous save - W2, D1 out of 3 league games and still in the FA Cup having knocked out Guisborough Town (step 9) and Basford Utd (step 7) .. but I think the wage limitations would have been a major issue down the line.

Still with Carlisle City and still amateur.  Still struggling to attract players but managed to win the first game - FA Cup extra preliminary tie at step 9 Seaham Red Star.

Here we go!  Toying with the idea of trying to use youth only but may not be 100% strict with it.  Starting with Cheddar FC in the Western League first division.  Had a good save with them last year and been to watch them a few times since.

What have you done to upset them so much?

Presumably it's getting knocked out of the fa cup and vase in the first game & they expect me to be top, being level on points in 2nd isn't good enough apparently, I've managed to turn them round though with a complete tactical overhall

Hmmm, now a full squad re-build.

We were amateur and the board proposed semi-pro immediately after promotion.  But, for the next 6 weeks (until July), I still couldn't offer anything other than amateur contracts (non-contract and part-time weren't available).  So during that 6 weeks, 9 first teamers left, 6 of whom started the FA Vase final.  One player agreed an amateur contract then 6 days later left to join someone else.

Transfer budget is £1100 per week and that includes transferring in the scouting budget.  Running with a squad of 12, offering plenty of contracts but players choosing to go elsewhere.

Just seen I've been shafted to the United Counties League Premier Division North, presumably due to league geographic limits

Yes you could have gone in either that league or the north west counties league due to you being very close to the boundaries.

I would be more concerned if you had gone into the southern leagues.

They have gone into that league on my save too, same as me.
