4-4-2 wing play

Recommended Posts

This worked very well for me in the Vanarama National League and cup matches, in combo with a more defensive 4-4-2 2DM (below) for tougher matches and when I'd get tired.  Also, I'd mix it up, 50% of the time play 'Positive', sometimes 'more direct' and/or higher tempo.  Depending on who was playing and fitness, put the RB on FB(s); switch the LB to WB(s)/FB(s) and the LM to IW(a); occasionally have my CMs switch sides and switch the BBM to CM(a).  When leading late, especially when tiring, I'd switch to the 2nd tactic, or a portion of the second tactic.
