I've set my continental competitions to use coefficients to change rankings. The qualification places seem to change, but leagues don't ever increase/decrease in reputation. I'm doing custom continental competitions for Asia and the only league I had loaded during testing was the Chinese Super League. No reputation/prize money updates for that (or any other league).
