"explore his options at the end of his contract" player should sell?

So, my player just started to cry this new "will explore his options at the end of his contract" thing. My question is should I transform him into money until I can or I should wait and hope he will sign a new contract?

there's no single answer, I'd guess. I have had a star striker who told me that when I arrived at the club. Four years later, he's been superb for us, unfailingly professional, and now, at 30, he's left on a free to join Man U on treble the money. That's fine by me.

This is always a risk that can happen- if he is a player that has other teams interested in him, then I would be tempted to sell and make some money from him before he walks.  There is a chance , however, that if nobody else is interested, he will re-sign a new contract.
