Sophos
Got to a football game for the first time in months yesterday and the thing that really struck me was the atmosphere. The chanting, the cheering, the shouts of “Off! Off! Off!”, booing of a player after a nasty tackle, booing of the referee, the chants getting louder, a sub going off into the stands that dance with the fans. The fans are what makes football, but in Football Manager they barely seem to exist. So my suggestion is something like: 1. Add an ‘Atmosphere’ widget at games that shows how both sets of fans are reacting. 2. Add chants to the game that give insight into the fans. This could indicate which players the fans love, what they think of the manager, how they feel the team is doing. 3. Give players more visible reactions to the fans. Let them be shaken by a hostile atmosphere, or inspired by the backing of their fans. Let them be fired up when the crowd gets angry.
Administrators Zachary Whyte Posted November 1, 2022 Administrators Share Posted November 1, 2022 Thanks for this request, this is something which may end up in a future FM with further development or may yet end up rejected.
