An addition that could add a new level of excitement to the game!

I 've been thinking the last couple of years that one of things that make me get tired of a long long save is this lack of freshness apart from the new transfers coming in.. You know, usually same system, same philosophy blah blah. And in addition, same images throughout the year and then it hit me:

Since now we have a very good database of like 60+ years of teams competing on what we call "contemporary football", how hard would it be to create an algorithm that will be able to create new kits every year for each team. And yah obviously if you wanna do a crap job on it, you can always throw a simple randomizer in there and hope for the best, but I am talking about a sophisticated algorithm. I' ll use Juventus as an example here: Juventus main colors should be black and white. They always have thick (or thin or whatever) vertical lines on their Jersey.. or do they? Cause that 's what I remember, but now I am googling and I can see patterns here that can become parts of an algorithm.. In 2020 for example they threw a gold rim in the lines. In 2019 they split the jersey in the middle with a red line and had half a black and half a white jersey.. So how often in the last 20 years did they choose stripes? How often do they go for the thin vertical lines?  What are the 3rd supportive colors they tend to choose? Pink? gold? red? What level of risk taking do they seem to employ in their 3rd (supportive) colors? Do they follow trends ? (Pink jerseys come to mind). Or do they create them? See where I am going with this? There is a ton of data out there, and I am pretty sure if anyone can analyze and algorithmize all these information, it s obviously the people behind the Football Manager series.

And that could provide the player with an amazing moment in July of every year or whenever where the team will present the new kits, in a screen similar to winning a trophy or something, and you 'll have your captain and your star player and your goalie showcasing the new kits for the year,  I think it can make a great impact to the game the same way it does in real life football every year. Any thoughts?

I do really like the idea of this, especially them announcing the new kit. It could also link in to shirt sales. So randomly one year could be double the sales as it was more popular, another it might be less.

Having said that; I genuinely never even notice that kits don’t change. I’ve read a few people mention it recently but it’s not something that bothers me. But your idea is a great one and adds a little more realism

Kits in the games are down to information provided by the club researcher to si and then added as close as possible. Also not all clubs change kits every year. Most have a 2 year cycle(West Brom do)

I don't understand your answer mate.. I mean I don't understand the point you re trying to make. What does it matter who provides the information for the kits in the game? They re not some sort of secret, there s usually a whole revelation event and anyway, the kits for the year that each game is released are not the focus of the idea here. for example in FM22, this whole idea has nothing to do with the 21/22 season kits (which is the kit data that each researcher will pass on), it s about the next seasons in the game, the ones in future years where no one knows what the kits will look like and therefore creative license makes sense. On the 2nd point, well even better, that s also a great piece of data to include to the algorithm, not everyone is a freakin juventus to sign a new designer deal every 6 months, teams tend to keep their kits more than a year
