TerminalPortugal
Season 2093 Introduction to the Club When we left Botafogo, the main club I could see that was available was Gremio. They are predicted to finish mid-table but I liked the look of the side. So I put my name into the hat and before long I was the new manager of the club. They are a big club in Brazil having lifted three Copa Libertadores and 6 league titles, but they are probably not as well known as the likes of Santos, Palmeiras, Flamengo and Corinthians. Campeonato Gaúcho Ipiranga Série A1 We walked what I would have to say is one of the weaker state championships. Internacional are not the force they used to be and it was pretty easy all told. Copa do Brasil We have some affinity to the Copa do Brasil, we always seem to do well, and it happened again as we lifted the cup defeating Flamengo in the final. Along the way we also knocked out our old club Botafogo. Campeonato Brasileiro Assaí Série A This season was a disaster by my standard, we finished 4th and it could have been worse. We had a problem converting chances this season. Our XG would have us finishing in 2nd place pretty close to Flamengo the overall winners, unfortnately it was a season to forget. It could of gotten a whole lot worse, since I had told the board we would challenge for the title, we faced huge pressure at the end of the season, needing to win twice the next game to keep our job, which we did, and actually at the end of the season, our job is no longer under threat. Squad and Transfers The transfers I made did not have a huge impact this season. What happened here is we seemingly scored a whole hell of a lot of goals during the state championship and then forgot how to convert chances. Our defence was also very bad this season, we actually ended up top goalscorers (we have scored a whole lot more than that) but our defence was on part with some of the teams in the relegation places. The weird thing is that the ratings are not that bad, I honestly think we were good until the final ball or the finish. Manager Thoughts Well somehow we come out of this with 80 points tacked on to our total, it was looking like we might end up losing some of those points for being sacked, but in the end we are kind at square one, our job is again stable and in theory we can leave if we should wish to (there is a rule about resigning under pressure on the first page). I honestly think it might be best to leave and just wait it out and see what becomes available at this stage. Brazil is proving tough, the teams at the top are too good to try and hit them with a mid-table side. I feel like we were lucky at Botafogo. TerminalPortugal
Season 2094 Introduction to the Club After leaving Gremio, we were hoping for a club we could really get our teeth into, and our prayers were answered as Palmeiras a true Brazilian powerhouse were looking for a new manager. They have won 28 league titles and 2 Copa Libertadores crowns as well. The initial assessment of the squad was that it blew every team we had had out of the water. Secondly they had money to burn, so this could be what we were looking for. Campeonato Paulista Sicredi Série A1 We took over in the state championship and after the first three games had been played, but we barely broke stride as we got to through the league and then walked Ponte Preta, Red Bull Bragantino and narrowly beat Corinthians to claim a Paulistao. Copa do Brasil We won every game apart from one on our way to the Copa do Brasil crown beating the likes of Santos, Cruzeiro, Flamengo and Fluminense in the final without much issue. Campeonato Brasileiro Assaí Série A We only lost to Corinthians away on the way to the league title, and we captured it with two games still to play such was our dominance this season. The crazy thing is that Sao Paulo went for about 24 games of the league season having only conceded 3 goals. I honestly thought they might end up conceding like 7 goals and losing the title, but the floodgates so to speak have opened on that front, so while it impressive their defensive prowess it is no longer that much of an outlier. We leave before the league season is over because we have captured the necessary points to finish up in Brazil. Squad and Transfers We decided to not be a shrieking violet when it came to the transfer funds available and invest in more cover and players who could challenge for a starting spot, the likes of Darcy, Maicon Douglas, Kevin Rodriguez, and Joshua Amoah all add massive depth to us. The team were brilliant, we have so many brilliant players, from Cassio up front, to Guilherme Xavier, a wonderkid centre midfielder, Santiago Vidal off the right wing. Just brilliant players everywhere, no wonder we delivered a treble here. I am just wondering how we did it at Botafogo up against this kind of quality. Manager Thoughts We have completed Brazil after some trials and tribulations and in the end Palmeiras were the kind of club that was going to catapult us to the finish line. Brazil was tough, much tougher than Argentina where seemingly we could win the league with any side, and Boca Juniors and River Plate while good did not provide this kind of challenge. Gremio was almost a disaster for us, and the closest in the whole journey we got to getting sacked, and it happened twice. With Brazil finally slain and conquered, we now move into what will be the real struggle of this challenge and the first step on the journey is UEFA21 and we are heading to the island of Ireland. Both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland are in play for this one. 500 points is required. Continental competitions will be back since it seems there is no issue with the European competitions as they have been functioning as intended so far. SA1 COMPLETE!!! TerminalPortugal
Season 2096 Introduction to the Club On arriving on the island of Ireland, we had to wait a while for a job to become available but when it did I was very happy as we were able to move to Shamrock Rovers, the most successful club in the Republic of Ireland. Their manager had guided them to third and that was deemed not to be good enough, so we got the opportunity. Shamrock Rovers have won 38 league titles and 45 FAI Cups amongst other more minor cups that they have won. The squad looked great for the level we would be playing at so I was very happy. Leinster Senior Cup We manged to capture the Leinster Senior Cup, one of the minor Irish cups. We beat Bohemians in the final 2-1. EA Sports Cup We managed to win the EA Sports cup another minor Irish cup, beating Longford Town in the final 4-0. FAI Cup We managed to win the main cup competition in the Republic of Ireland, beating Bohemians in the final. Along the way we had some big wins against St Pat's Atheltic, Sligo Rovers and Athlone Town as well. Europa Conference League The team surprised me with our European run. I expected us to drop out in the early stages, but we persevered. First up we faced Cypriot side Ermis and smashed them over two legs. Dziugas of Lithuania offered little more in the next round as we soundly beat them. Tobyl of Kazakhstan offered a stern test but we managed to get past them. Then it was Pirin of Bulgaria and again it was a stern test that we passed. That put us into a group with Antwerp of Belgium, Hajduk Split a giant of Croatian football and Lokomotiv Plovdiv, more Bulgarian opposition and we were brilliant. While we lost the odd game we smashed Hajduk in Croatia, Antwerp and home, and two narrow wins against Plovdiv in Bulgaria and at home to Hajduk secured us 2nd place. Next season we will continue the European campaign in the Second Round. SSE Airtricity League Premier Division We absolutely walked the league winning it by 22 points and finishing the season undefeated. Unite The Union Champions Cup The trophy technically could count as a continental competition since it is against the champions of Northern Ireland but I think it is closer to a minor Irish cup so we only get 30 points for it. Anyway we managed to win it thanks to a dominant home display. Squad and Transfers We made some good transfers this season. Stephen Desmond spent most of the year honing his skills in the Under 19s before coming up and now being a serious good player in the side at just 19 years old. Billy O'Shea was ridiculous this season getting himself 21 goals and 43 assists in all competitions. Stephen O'Neill was a rock at the back and bagged 18 goals from centre back. I don't think I could have been better in the transfer window. In terms of performances the team was brilliant. Luke Kelly led line to 34 goals this season. Mahlaba in midfield was excellent as well with 18 goals and 16 assists. We were very dominant this year, we pretty much won everything we could and advanced in Europe into unknown territories for Irish sides. Manager Thoughts A great start to UEFA21 and we get some big points in the Republic of Ireland. I am curious to see how far we can get in the Europa Conference League. It took me by surprise when we overperformed in that tournament. The goal next season is to repeat what we did this season and see where we are then. So far so good in Ireland. TerminalPortugal
Season 2097 Stadium Plans We got some news at the start of the season that the club were considering a new stadium for the club. President's Cup The President's Cup is the equivalent of the Charity Shield and we won it pretty easily 5-1. Leinster Senior Cup Another Leinster Senior Cup for us. EA Sports Cup Another EA Sports Cup without much issue. UEFA Europa Conference League We were not far away from reaching the Quarter Final stage of the Conference League, despite our great win at home to AZ Alkmaar, they thumped us in the Netherlands to knock us out. FAI Cup Another FAI Cup for us, despite a replay with Bohemians that we took full advantage of in the second game at home, we were never in trouble the whole tournament. SSE Airtricity League Premier Division Another league title was accomplished at a canter. We did lost this season after 58 games without losing the streak finally ended, but it mattered little when it came to the league as we won it by 19 points. Unite the Union Champions Cup We played Linfield for a second year running the Champions Cup and we got wins home and away to win another one. UEFA Champions League We did amazingly to get as far as we did, as we got through Rosenborg in the playoff to make the group stage proper. Unfortunately we were never likely to do much in the group and we do exit the competition, but we got some famous results against Lyon and Arsenal, as we held them to draws. We almost cost Arsenal a place the Second Round, that probably would not have made the Arsenal fans too happy, but they make it through in second place. Squad and Transfers The money from European competitions is starting to create quite a gap between our spending power and the rest of Ireland, and we are able to outspend them handily and take their best players. We do still have to sell though and Stephen Desmond made his way to the Emirates for £2m. However this season we invested a lot in quality footballers, most of them young with bags of potential to improve. In terms of performances, once again Billy O'Shea continues to be an assist machine and Luke Kelly continues to be goal machine as they got 43 assists and 41 goals respectively. There were good performances this season from the likes of Danny Murphy, Brent De Wade, Noah Op de Beeck, Roy Behan and many many others. We look a complete team for this level and we are improving. Manager Thoughts Lots of trophies and lots more points. I think we will be staying another season at Shamrock Rovers and then we probably need to move on, and we may be wise that when we do that, that we look in Northern Ireland, as I really do not want to go up against this team in the Republic of Ireland. TerminalPortugal
Season 2098 President's Cup We opened up with the President's Cup and got a 3-0 win. Leinster Senior Cup A pretty straightforward route to winning the Leinster Cup EA Sports Cup We did not win this one. We were badly affected 15 of our players being away on international duty when the game against Bohemians was played and we lost it 3-0. The first domestic trophy we have not won since we have been in Ireland. FAI Cup We won another FAI Cup but only by the skin of our teeth as it took penalties against Sligo Rovers. Unite the Union Champions Cup We had 20 players away for the first leg of the Champions Cup, but only 7 were away by the time the second leg came around and it made a big difference as we came back. UEFA Champions League We could not replicate the performance last year to get to the group stages and fell at the final hurdle to Rangers. But we did have some very impressive results against Serbian powerhouse Partizan Belgrade UEFA Europa League By virtue of being knocked out at the final hurdle in the race for Champions League group stages, we made it to the Europa League group stages, meaning we have now played in all three European competitions and we against shocked everyone as we managed to make it through the group, dumping Trabzonspor out in 3rd place and advancing with PAOK. Again some pretty crazy results, such as our 4-0 demolition of PAOK at home and drawing with Trabzonspor at home. Our away form though is no where near as good as when we play in Ireland that is for sure. Although we did manage to win away in Georgia. SSE Airtricity League Premier Division An unbeaten season as we were much too good for everyone else, we won it by 25 points from Dundalk. Squad and Transfers We actually lose a lot of key players this season, either through minimum fee release clauses or because they were upset and not being allowed to move. At one point we lost every goalkeeper in the first team so we finished the season relying on the youth keepers to finish up the season. In terms of stats, Luke Kelly hit 52 goals this season, and Billy O'Shea got himself 30 assists and 24 foals. Danny Murphy was good in front of goal as well with 23 goals himself and 15 asssits. as well as now sold but still here on loan Noah Op de Beeck with 24 goals and 30 assists. Some very good performances this season from the boys. We brought in some more talent. Our strategy is now just to raid the best young talent in Ireland and Northern Ireland and then see who the scouts find who are rated. That is how we found defensive midfielder Yasril Riyadi from Indonesia, not sure how the scouts found him but he is a good player and very cheap. Manager Thoughts Well we are getting very close to the end in Ireland, but we do have a dilemma. We know that due to the depreciating point value, even if we won every domestic competition next season we would end up short of the 500 points, so I am really at the moment not sure whether it will be another season at Shamrock Rovers, and a hope of some amazing Europa League run, which almost certainly will not happen or whether there will be a club out there that fits our needs who we just need a few points from to complete this leg. We shall see what happens come the start of next season. Manager Profile Career Summary

TerminalPortugal
Season 2099 Stadium Plan The club have finalised the plan for the new stadium and it would be a pretty big expansion of about 10,000 seats. President's Cup We won the President's Cup pretty easily. Leinster Senior Cup We won the Leinster Senior Cup again. We had to get through penalties in the semi finals, and smashed Athlone Town in the final. EA Sports Cup We won the EA Sports Cup beating Dundalk easily in the final. FAI Cup We won the FAI Cup without conceding the whole tournament. It was a nervy final against Sligo Rovers however. UEFA Europa League We got a big scalp beating Greek giants Olympiacos, but could not get past Club Brugge in the next round. UEFA Champions League We pulled off a minor miracle in what looked like a really tough Champions League group. We probably secured two of the biggest results in club history as we beat AC Milan at home and Chelsea, and this was enough to give us Europa League knockout football at the start of next season. SSE Airtricity League Premier Division The league again was not close, although we did lose 4 games this season. We won the league by 19 points this season. Unite the Union Champions Cup Despite 16 internationals way for the first leg we still beat Glentoran, and then we finished the job in the second leg. Squad and Transfers A lot of players in and out as we always look to improve the team. Edward Bennett came in as the main striker this season and he bagged himself 34 goals. Billy O'Shea continues to be a creative machine with 31 assists this season. The team is littered with players who have done brilliantly this season. Manager Thoughts We are on the precipice of completing this leg of the challenge. Funnily enough we are so close that I think staying at Shamrock Rovers will be mean certainty in making sure we get the job done tis season. Winning a few cups should be enough, but as a minimum winning the league will finish the job. So I think we are going to be staying at Shamrock Rovers until the leg is over and it should be completed next season. We are already considered a legend at Shamrock and that is the first club where that is the case. We are considered an icon at Minnesota United and Kaiser Chiefs. TerminalPortugal
Season 2100 Milestone We reached 3,000 games in management. President's Cup This was a crucial cup to win since it still offered 3 points to us, and gave us a chance that the EA Sports Cup would seal the deal on this leg. So I was very happy to beat St Pats Athletic. Leinster Senior Cup Worth only 1 point, but lost the final anyway on penalties. SSE Airtricity League Premier Division A quite frankly staggering performance meant that we won the first 26 games of the season, which meant that with 10 games to go, due to the fact that others had played more games we were already champions. We did not need to wait for the EA Sports Cup, as we won the league as early you can probably get. This was absolutely staggering. We stand 28 points ahead in the league, potentially on for a perfect season. Squad and Transfers The final squad got trimmed down this last season as I let a lot of the guys who were no longer really up to it go. We now have core of players that as you can see are all performing incredibly well, judging by the green averaging rating for everyone but the backup keeper. The biggest news of the window was probably selling Jasper Bos for £7.5m. He never played a game for us but he had a lot of potential. We had signed him from Ajax the year before for £2.6m Bartoletti, Malone, Lundback have all been great signings as we now really have a superb squad for this level and to be honest we are now close to a squad good enough to compete in Europe. Manager Thoughts Well we are done here in Ireland. That league win sealed the deal and I must say that was as early as I can remember winning a league title so that was some achievement. We have outgrown the Irish league I would say. To give a brief update of competitions not covered here because we were still participating in them. We got knocked out of the Europa League at the first hurdle by PAOK. In the Champions League we returned to the group stages beating Red Star Belgrade in the playoffs. Our group is again a tough one with Tottenham, Atletico and Galatasaray. We were still in FAI Cup having passed the initially stages, and in the final of the EA Sports Cup. We leave Ireland and UEFA21 behind and now move on to UEFA20 where we will be going to Finland or Latvia. UEFA21 COMPLETE!!! TerminalPortugal
Season 2101 Introduction to the Club We only managed to get a job, well into the Finnish league season. The club we managed to get a job at is SJK or to give them proper name Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho. They are pretty successful club in Finland having claimed 7 league titles previously but they are some way behind the likes of HJK. The team looked like it was small and was missing players that fit into our tactical system, so I was expecting some teething pains. We took over the club in 5th and well behind HJK in 1st place. UEFA Europa Conference League We had a good run in the Europa Conference League but we fell short of the group stages as Brondby knocked us out. Veikkausliiga It wasn't too bad, but there are problems with the team that we need to address. We managed to finish 3rd and we won the European Place Playoff which I believe means we made it to the UEFA Europa League next season, which will help financially. We look a long way off HJK at the moment, who are going to be tough to overcome. Squad and Transfers As mentioned previously this team has issues. We had to bring in Bravo as we had no recognised defensive midfielder in the whole squad. We also have no cover at left back. We also strangely have almost no central midfielders at the club, so there is plenty that we need to correct. No one really did that well this season, hopefully the numbers will look much better next season Manager Thoughts We arrive in Finland, looking to improve this SJK side so that we can challenge HJK next season, we need depth in plenty of positions. I am a little bit skeptical that we will be able to overturn HJK here, so I all I can hope for is that I am wrong about that. We will see next season. Anyway no points so far, but it is very early days. Manager Profile Career Summary
TerminalPortugal
Season 2102 Suomen Cup A great run in the cup and some luck in the final got us the trophy. UEFA Europa Conference League A decent run for us as we got into the Fourth Qualifying phase but we lost to Jagiellonia of Poland, and we were well beaten in the away leg. Veikkausliiga I felt we were pretty bad this season. We finished 2nd, but most of the season we were mid table. Having said all that, it should be stated that had we not beaten HJK in the final game of the season they would have gone unbeaten. They were far and away the best team in the league and it is very concerning for me on the hunt for points. We finished the season pretty strongly as we got more players in, but I am still highly skeptical we can challenge HJK. Squad and Transfers Our main issue this season was a lack of clinicality up front and generally speaking we created a lot of chances but struggled to put many of them away. Hopefully we have gone some way to rectifying that with the additions of Marchionni who looked good for us in the second half of the season after signing. Our main problem is how do we compete with HJK who always get Champions League money, when we get Conference League money, and so we will have to be shrewd about how we go about it. Manager Thoughts We did win the cup this season, so it could have been worse, but we are miles behind HJK. It kind of reminds me of our Shamrock Rovers team who were so much better than the rest of the league, that is just not a fair contest. Unfortunately in this case we are the equivalent of Bohemians of Sligo Rovers trying to compete. We will see if we can do anything to get closer to HJK next season. TerminalPortugal
Season 2103 Suomen Cup We managed to do it again as we lifted the Suomen Cup for the second year in a row. We managed to get past HJK in the semi final and then won against Honka in the final. UEFA Europa Conference League HJK won the competition last season, just to show the gap between us and them. We got as far as the Fourth Round again and gave a good account of ourselves against Celta de Vigo but it would not prove enough. Veikkausliiga It took every sinew of myself to make us champions. We focussed heavily on training this year and made sure we were exploiting opponent weaknesses. Considering we were on autopilot when it came to training up until now, that shows the enormity of the task. Secondly HJK were better last season that this season, but take nothing away from us, in the end it looked comfortable with a 7 point lead the final table, but in actual fact it could have been very different, we lose the final two games of the season and HJK would have been champions and considering it was the Champions Group I was worried about it. However in the end we won it before we even played HJK in the Champions Group. Squad and Transfers In terms of signings we got in De Angelis who was our goalkeeper at Shamrock Rovers when we left, and he was a bit upgrade in between the sticks and Martinez sure up both midfield and defence depending on where I deployed him. This season Marchionni proved himself the main man, as he bagged 19 goals. He was good enough that Juventus and Napoli have been sniffing around him. Bojan Schwab is also worth a mention as he scored 17 this season and Paris St Germain of all clubs have been trying to sign him. These guys are young and would get nowhere near the first team at these giants but it goes to show that they have potential. The team was great this year. We were up against it and to come away with a double is brilliant. Manager Thoughts Well, we managed to capture the double. The Finnish league is quite the test with HJK having so much power in the competition and being so much better than everyone else. I think we will stay one more season at SJK and see if we can capture the league again. There is already quite a reduction in points when it comes to the Suomen Cup so we are aware that our days are numbered at the club and we will soon need to be looking elsewhere. TerminalPortugal
Season 2104 Suomen Cup We won another Suomen Cup. This time we did not need to face HJK, so it made it all the easier. UEFA Champions League We got as far as the Third Qualifying Round before Celtic knocked us out. UEFA Europa League An outstanding performance, as we not only made the group stage, but won the group in what I would call quite a hard group for us. We ended up only losing the away game at Lille and winning all the other games. The tournament will continue next season. Veikkausliga It went right down to the wire this season and were second favourites going into the final game. The basic situation was that we faced Honka away and HJK faced TPS away. HJK took a 2-0 lead on the final day early in the game, and it looked over. However we were doing out job and were beating Honka handily. Suddenly TPS got one back early in the second half and then they bagged another and somehow they survived for the remainder of the game. We ended up winning 4-0 at Honka and HJK drew 2-2 against TPS against all odds, to hand us the title on the final day. Squad and Transfers We are beginning to lose players to larger clubs, and often on minimum fee release clauses. A lot of players left this year already due to the Europa League run extended our season by a couple of months. All four of our signings have been very important this season and been extremely key to our success. Marchionni continued to be brilliant this season with 29 goals this season and he remains the key guy. Manager Thoughts An absolutely bonkers season as we got the job done in the league in the final game of the league season. We were very lucky and HJK were back to their best although obviously they blew the league title. Another little chapter to the HJK story is that their manager went to Atletico Madrid, around when the Champions Group started and they brought in a permanent manager just before the final league game, so he started on a bad note. I was actually annoyed that I missed out on that job, I did not receive notice or just completely missed that they had sacked their manager as I would have had my CV on their desk instantly. So that is annoying and it may be a while before that job is available. In terms of where we are going now. I have not signed a new deal with the club and I was sure I was leaving but our Europa League performance has buoyed me massively to think that maybe just maybe we might have a chance. So I am considering potentially staying another season, although I am probably just as likely to resign in the off-season. We will see what decision ends up being. TerminalPortugal
Season 2105 Suomen Cup We lost to KuPS in the semi final. I would say that the main reason we lost was because of the Europa League having to rotate a weaker team into the Suomen Cup and we got caught out. UEFA Europa League Well this was quite mad. We are Europa League champions and you can't say we had an easy route to the final. We knocked off Valencia, Tottenham Hotspurs and AC Milan in the final. We knocked off Valencia with ease winning 4-0 in Spain and then again at home, but against Tottenham we had a good home performance to thank instead as away we got battered and managed to control the game to get through. In the final we were battered by AC Milan, but they were wasterful and the game ended 1-1 after extra time and we managed to keep our heads on penalties. I thought the group stage had gone very well and perhaps it was indicative but I was amazed when we got through each round. This result gave us the real possibility that we could complete the leg this year. UEFA Super Cup Man City were by far the better team but it does not really matter as we got the goals and to be honest, they were better but they were not dominant, as we had chances as well. They controlled possession and at times we had to live on scraps but we got the job done. Veikkausliga The league title would be enough to complete the stage and a few games into the Championship Group we are already champions. This was by far the easiest league title we have won as we were well ahead most of the season. HJK have been out of sorts, and while KuPS are having a good season, in the hunt for a double they were just always a few points behind us. Squad and Transfers The transfers this season just took us to that next level where you can consider us a seriously dangerous side, even in Europe. Dongngam up front is a very good player and he has put away a lot of chances this season and just looks a threat and we still have Marchionni who bagged 20 this season. The team was great this year, we would a European trophy with a Finnish club, that is a major achievement. Although HJK did it first winning the Europa Conference League we managed to win the Europa League which is a more prestigious trophy so it is history in the making. Manager Thoughts It goes to show that I while I try and plot my route through these legs, you just never know what is going to happen. I put my Europa League hopes at less than 1% and yet we managed to come through and win it. Then when I found out we were playing Man City in Super Cup final, again I gave us no chance and we pulled it out of the bag again, and that was all we needed to have a really prospect on completing this leg this season and the league win confirmed it. In the end we spent all our time in UEFA20 at SJK and it proved to be enough to get us all the way through. I was expecting to have to move on at some point, but that move never happened because of the Europa League win, which may well be my finest achievement in this whole challenge. We now move on to UEFA19 which will be in Norway and Iceland, so should be plenty interesting. UEFA20 COMPLETE!!! TerminalPortugal
Season 2108 Introduction to the Club We had to wait a while in our new leg as I was not looking for a project. We got a few offers for the likes of Start in Norway, who were in a relegation battle and even a couple of sides who were actually already technically relegated. Eventually however we did find a good job in Iceland in the form of Valur. They had just finished the season in 3rd place and they had an open spot at manager and we jumped in at the chance of getting the job. They are based in Reykjavik, and they are pretty big club in Iceland. They have won 37 league titles, and are only a little bit the behind the likes of KR when it comes to league titles. Although the biggest club in stature in Iceland is Vikingur. The team looked pretty good and pretty much ready to challenge for the title so I did not see much issue there. Lengjubikarinn A We won the equivalent of the League Cup in Iceland without much issue. We walked the group stage and then beat Vikingur in the semi final and HK in the final 1-0. Mjólkurbikarinn We won the equivalent of the FA Cup as we beat Vikingur in the final 5-0. There were actually quite a few players away on internationals for the game, it probably affected both sides, but I was a little bit worried going in but our win was emphatic. Pepsi Max deildin We were unbeaten on the way to the league title, which we won by 10 points from KR in second place. To be honest we had a lot of games in hand, so spent a lot of time in second place but with 3 and 4 games in hand from the likes of FH who dropped away in the end. A very easy league title win in the end. UEFA Europa Conference League So far we have had a very nice Europa Conference League run as we currently sit in third place in the group, having already beaten PAOK in Greece and AZ Alkmaar at home. It was actually a really tough draw for us considering this is the Conference League and not the Europa Leage. We still have two group games to go against PAOK and Hertha Berlin. We probably have to beat PAOK at home to have any chance as I expect Hertha to probably beat us in Germany. Squad and Transfers We had to see our best player at the start of the season to Bodo/Glimt but we have reinforced the team a lot. Really all the signings have had an impact over the season. Emil Eiriksson has been very good up front and has been continually linked with a move away to the Norweigian League. Hopefully we can keep a hold of him. Overall very happy with the squad. Manager Thoughts We have landed on our feet at Valur as we complete a domestic treble and are still in the Europa Conference League, although it may not be for much longer. I suspect we will be looking to stay at least another couple of seasons and then reassess where we are up to. Manager Profile Career Summary
TerminalPortugal
Season 2109 Stadium Plans The board are planning a new stadium. UEFA Europa Conference League It was not enough the win against PAOK as we needed to avoid defeat in Berlin and could not manage it. We exited the Europa Conference League. Lengjubikarinn A We won another League Cup, beating Vikingur 6-1 in the final. Meistarakeppni KSÍ This is the equivalent of the Super Cup and we managed to beat KR 2-0. Mjólkurbikarinn We won another equivalent of the Icelandic FA Cup, and it was tough, as we won our final three games 1-0 with the final going to extra time. But we got the job done. UEFA Champions League We were very close to making the Champions League group stage, but we could not get one over on FC Copenhagen, despite having drawn away we lost at home 4-2 in the playoff. Pepsi Max deildin We walked the league as we dropped 3 points all season, winning it in the end by only 8 points as KR also had a great season but they could not trouble us. UEFA Europa League The Europa League meant we had played in all three European competitions this season, we got in by virtue of dropping out of the Champions League and it went much better than expected as we already booked our place in the next round, thanks to a superb group stage so far, winning away at Galatasaray and Rijeka. Last time we won a group in the Europa League we went on to win the whole tournament surely lightning cannot strike twice. Squad and Transfers Only two signings this season, Sivkov and Dwaramury and both have been crucial this season. No one has been more crucial that Sivkov as he has elevated us to a new level with his signature. He has bagged 44 goal contributions this season which is fantastic. Eiriksson has also been in fine form this season with 30 goals and 41 goal contributions. The whole squad has been fantastic this season and we really can't fault anyone. Manager Thoughts We have reached 300 points, and I think we have another season at Valur before we have to move on. Obviously I assume we will not win any European silverware which would not only change the mathematics but the resolve the mathematics of the stage. Either way we are well on our way now and we just need to keep this going and hopefully there is another job that we can get that will allow us to complete this stage nice and quick. TerminalPortugal
Season 2110 Stadium Plans The board finally announced the plans for 21,378 seater stadium. UEFA Europa League Mainz knocked us out in the Second Knockout Round. UEFA Champions League FC Copenhagen again were the ones to knock us out of the Champions League, this time in the Third Qualifying Round. Lengjubikarinn A Another league cup for us. Meistarakeppni KSÍ Another super cup for us. Mjólkurbikarinn Another FA Cup for us. Pepsi Max deildin We again won the league. This time around we conceded only 4 goals the entire season and they came in just two games. Meaning we had 20 clean sheets this season. UEFA Europa League The Europa League is not going to plan this year in what is a tougher group than last year and that has precipitated us to leave prior to completing the 4th fixtures which we normally do in an Icelandic season. Squad and Transfers Real Madrid came in for Sivkov, which was a shame, as he was our best player and was averaging over a 9.00 in the league. He was so far superior to this league. He was also pretty loyal and only left because he had a minimum fee release clause in his contract, he actually wanted to renew his contract but Real got an offer in in time before he signed again with us, and managed to convince him to leave. We did bring in some new faces that improved us. In the likes of De Decker, Tor Grue, Abdulmalek Rashid amongst others. Grue is the replacement for Eiriksson because he is getting on a bit. Really this team now is way too good for the Icelandic league and they should continue to dominate for some time to come. Manager Thoughts Our time at Valur is at an end and we are just under 150 points away from the finishing line. The worry now is how on earth do we compete in the Icelandic powerhouse that is Valur, so we may well need to contain our search for a new club to Norway, as I just don't like me odds of going up against what I have created. TerminalPortugal
Season 2110 Introduction to the Club We were not out of a job long as the manager of Valerenga left to take up the Norway national head coach job and that left us to pick up Valerenga. I am very happy with that. They are one of the better sides in Norway, they are pretty successful, but it pales in significance in comparison to how successful and how dominant Rosenborg have been over the years. They will be a very tough nut to crack. Eliteserien We took over with nothing to play for, but the two remaining fixtures and we did really well, battering Viking and beating 2nd place Bodo/Glimt who sit in 2nd place. In the end we finished 3rd which is a place better than where we picked up the club. Squad We have a pretty accomplished squad. In the likes of Bonavita we have a wonderkid striker, which I hope we can get the best from. Generally speaking I don't see too many gaps, however we will go through with a fine-tooth comb and see what we need. Manager Thoughts Very happy to get to Valerenga. We just need to push to the league title here in Norway and this leg will be almost done. A double next season and we will be done. It's a good club to stumble upon. TerminalPortugal
Season 2111 Eliteserien We managed to win the league, and it was a close run thing despite the fact we managed to go the entire season undefeated. Rosenborg are a formidable opponent and we just kept going at each other. The key moment was probably when we beat them early in the season at home. That gave us the leadership of the league, and we never really relinquished it. The draw against them late int he season could have completely changed the league season but the fact that we drew kept everyone where they were and we just had to hold our nerves from there. Norgesmesterskapet i fotball The cup was very easy right until the final where we faced a familiar foe in Rosenborg again. They were trying to deny me the double and more importantly if we did not win, we would need to remain for next season to win either the league or the cup, unless we won something in Europe to advance. So I was very thankful when we took ownership of the match and ran out comfortable winners 3-0 in the end, providing us the necessary points to complete the leg. UEFA Europa Conference League We look decent value to advance, although we do need to go to Greece and get a point to assure ourselves of the next round. If we lost we would in all probability be out. It all is slightly irrelevant to us as we have the points to advance to the next round. Squad and Transfers Joa was a pretty big loss for us, he left when either his minimum fee release clause activated or the board took it on themselves to sell him. I kind of lost track of exactly what happened with him. But he was a seriously good player. I was not really able to go crazy in the transfer market because the registration rules require a certain number of home-grown players and so, we spent our money on Norweigan players where we could. The likes of Asgeir Andersen contributed a lot to us this seaosn. In terms of performances, Jacob Andersen was brilliant this season with 31 goal contributions and Aasronningen finished up top goalscorer from midfield which was quite a surprise but he as certain Lampard style to his game that just got on the end of stuff. Manager Thoughts We managed to get the job done here in Norway and we are going on to UEFA18, which consists of Scotland and Wales, which should prove very interesting. In the end I think our time at Valur will be the most memorable but this Valerenga side is very good and should do well going into future. We will be back when we know exactly where we will be in the next leg. UEFA19 COMPLETE!!! Manager Profile Career Summary
TerminalPortugal
Season 2113/14 Introduction to the Club It took a while to get a job, as nothing really came up in Scotland or Wales for a while that was of interest and then finally, Connah's Quay manager decided to take up the Kilmarnock job and that opened up a spot at one of the best sides in Wales. They have won over 20 Welsh League titles and while still trailing The New Saints by about 20 titles, they are a very competitive side in Wales, and the moment probably the best side in Wales. UEFA Europa Conference League We were not quite good enough to knock off AEK Larnakas of Cyprus. Nathaniel MG Cup The Welsh League cup saw us ride our luck on the way to the final and in the final, but we won both penalty shootouts we were involved with and took home the cup. JD Welsh Cup This time we faced TNS in the final of the Welsh Cup and we got the better of them winning 3-1. JD Cymru Premier In the end it was a very comfortable league win as we streaked away from TNS. Early on we were close and we even trailed TNS by 2 points for a while but that did not last long. There was a point in the regular season where both our league games came back to back and two wins there broke the back of their challenge. Squad and Transfers Our transfers were just a few players that I felt added a bit of depth to a few places. The team performed very well this season, plenty of 20+ goalscorers which is normally a sign you are league champions. Manager Thoughts A great first club to get our teeth into in Wales, and we get some solid points on the board. We will stay at least another season, to cement some further points and see then what is available. Scotland realistically probably requires the Celtic or Rangers job to be available for us to have much of a chance of really silverware there. TerminalPortugal
Season 2114/15 Milestone We reached 3,500 games in management. UEFA Champions League We got as far as the Third Qualifying Round this year, which was pretty good for, but Red Bull Salzburg was far too strong. UEFA Europa League We got to the Europa League group stages but we really were never going to challenge to get to the next round. We did manage to win 4-3 in Maribor however which was nice. Nathaniel MG Cup We won another Welsh League Cup JD Welsh Cup We won another Welsh Cup JD Cymru Premier We walked the league this season undefeated, winning the league by 26 points from TNS. Squad and Transfers The transfers were more incidental than game changers. In the Welsh league we really cannot improve the team much more than what we have so we just bought a few guys that might provide a bit of depth and can fill in. Kevin Reynolds was mentally good this season with 64 goal contributions this season. I have no idea where it came from considering he plays from midfield but I was very happy to see it. Manager Thoughts More points on the board and I am now stuck in two minds as to whether to remain at the club or resign and wait for the next opportunity to come up as the trophies will be worth a lot less. We have not signed a new contract, as if we do, it is liable to count against us at interview for breaking the contract. So we are watching the job market closely. We may well resign and wait. TerminalPortugal
Season 2116/17 Introduction to the Club We sat out a season after leaving Connah's Quay, and we managed to eventually find a job right at the end of the season at Bala Town. Bala Town are probably the third best team in Wales and I felt it was probably the best job I was going to get for a while. Bala Town have won 9 league titles and a fair few cups, so they are well established but are well behind the likes of TNS and Connah's Quay when it comes to success. Nathaniel MG Cup We managed to win the League Cup. It could have ended right in the Second Round as we played Connah's Quay but we got past them and then we went all the way to the final where we played lower league Haverfordwest and won it quite easily. JD Welsh Cup We managed to win the Welsh Cup, we took down Barry Town in the final. JD Cymru Premier We managed to win the league but it was a very close run thing and probably Connah's Quay will feel that probably should have won it. It really came down to them picking up a few draws late in the season and us managing to avoid defeat against them this season. In the end it came down to us needing to get at least a point against TNS and Connah's Quay needing a big win in the eventuality where we would lose, but we took TNS apart winning 6-0. Squad and Transfers We have a massive squad but to be honest I was pretty happy about it, which allowed me a lot of flexibility, although it put a lot of pressure on training this massive squad. Matt Dyer and Peter Pring were probably the standouts for us. Manager Thoughts We are just 50 points away from completing this leg of the journey. If we remain at Bala, that will mean we need to win the league next season to be able to do it next season. I think we will remain since I think we can probably compete again next season. TerminalPortugal
Season 2117/18 UEFA Champions League We got absolutely smashed by Shakhtar Donetsk UEFA Europa League We narrowly lost out to Farul of Romania. UEFA Conference League We faced old side SJK in the group stages of the Europa Conference League and we managed to do the double over them but we had very little chance of doing anything in this group. Nathaniel MG Cup We lost in semi final to Carmarthen on penalties. JD Cymru Premier This was a proper league title race with all the drama ever possible. We were completely out of it, when we got into the Championship Conference, but then we put a hell of a run together winning every game to give us a chance. We would play Connah's Quay in the final game, and we needed a win due to their superior goal difference, which was only two better. We took the lead but were pegged back and then we managed to find a second goal and eventually killed it late on to win the title. A pretty amazing ending to the season, and just what we needed to advance to the next leg. If you were Connah's Quay you would be wondering exactly how they had thrown it away. Even at the end, at home I was not at all confident we would even give them a game, but we came up with the goods. JD Welsh Cup We have reached the final of the Welsh Cup, but we resigned before it could take place. Squad and Transfers We lost some key players this season. Shaw left, our best defender as he was of a better class than the Welsh League, but we decided to invest in a few players and also some loanees to come in, they were all eventually recalled, but for a good section of the season we had a few guys that were making the difference. I probably burned a few bridges with the managers as I played them out of their loan agreed position, but not sure I care much. In terms of performance I actually don't think we were that great this season. Terry Williams to me always seemed like the key player and most things we did well started with him. Manager Thoughts We are done in UEFA18, and we now move on to UEFA17 which consists of Denmark and Sweden. Two interesting countries that might well prove difficult unless we can manage at one of the big boys I suspect. In the end this leg we spent all our time in Wales, which I would have suspected would not have happened as Scotland has far superior teams that might have a chance at European glory, but the Rangers or Celtic job never became available and when we got offered a Scottish job it was always in really tough mid season situations, which generally we want to avoid. TerminalPortugal
Season 2122/23 Introduction to the Club It took an eternity, something like 4 years to find a job. Once again we had been screwed over reputationally, probably for spending so much time in Wales with tiny clubs, no one had any respect for us. We were considering all kinds of jobs, and we were getting interviews and being passed over, and having no chance at the big jobs. Eventually a job came our way and it was a huge gamble. Randers were rock bottom of the league in Denmark, 9 points adrift, and looking almost certain to be relegated. At least they were a top division side and after looking at the team I felt they were decent enough that they should be doing better. With a gasp of air we decided to accept the job and the challenge. Randers are not a particularly successful club in Denmark having only a solitary league title, then again no one is successful in Denmark apart from FC Kobenhavn now having amassed over 90 league title wins. That shows somewhat the scale of what we are up against. 3F Superliga Pretty much everything we touched, turned to gold as we beat Brondby first game of the season and then ascended up the table like salmon upstream. We only lost to Copenhagen in the remainder of the Preliminary League and then only lost to Vejle in the Relegation phase. Sydbank Pokalen When we took over the club to my surprise we were still in the cup and we then managed to negotiate our tie against OB, who were having almost as bad a season as we were. Then came Copenhagen and I was to be honest not focussing on the game much, because the league was more important, so imagine my surprise when we did them at home, and then finished the job away from home. To be honest we were very lucky in the second leg, our keeper had a blinder. Then to the final where we faced Brondby and we just had the confidence with us now, and we beat them in the final to record our first points in UEFA17. Squad and Transfers We had one window soon after we joined to work some mahic and the main key signing was Danny Jackman who was prestigious for us on the wing following his signing. Gustavsson was pretty good as well, but Danny Jackman suddenly was opening the game up with almost 6 key passes a game. In terms of performances, since we were so bad for the majority of the season, it's not that great but next season I will be looking for major improvements. Manager Thoughts Well, that was a big risk for us, to take a team that seemed that far gone, and with Brondby and Copenhagen to play soon after joining it could of spiralled to relegation and point losses for us, but we managed to turn it around and even pick up the cup and qualify for the Europa Conference League next season, so there are plenty of positives at the end of the day, and hopefully now we have at least established ourselves a bit in Denmark, and have started picking up the language so things should get a little easier from here I hope. Obviously Randers are not my first choice to manage, but when life gives you lemons, make lemonade and all that. TerminalPortugal
Season 2123/24 UEFA Europa Conference League I had some confidence going into the Europa Conference League but we were very poor in the group stages and finished bottom of the group. Sydbank Pokalen We got as far as the semi finals before we lost to Aalborg. We were going through a really tough spell at the time in terms of form and goalscoring and we suffered greatly because of it. 3F Superliga Well we managed to pull off a title win a bit out of the blue. There was a lot of bottling going on at the end of the season as both we and Copenhagen continued to lose points and lose games, but it basically boiled to us having a narrow lead of one point going into the final game and we needed to go to Nordsjaelland the worst team in the Championship group and better Copenhagen's result and we managed to win 4-1 so in the end we got the title. It was not the prettiest win, but it was very satisfying to do it in the final game of the season. We managed to beat Copenhagen several times in the league season and so that played a massive part in our title win. Squad and Transfers Only two main signings this season in Andy Malcolm and Maxime Verhoeven and they both certainly played their part in a successful season but Danny Jackman was again the best player in opinion with 13 goals and 21 assists. We could have done it this season if he were not around. We did have to sell Bartu Senturk this season to Ajax but we did get to keep him on loan so it did not affect us at all. Manager Thoughts We managed to win the league title, and I do feel we were a bit lucky to do it. Copenhagen really bottled it at the end as we both went up against each other and another season we may have finished 10 points behind them, but not this season. Fundamentally I am unsure of really whether it is wise to stay at Randers, but also I am wary of resigning and sitting around not collecting points, so we will look for our opportunities if some arise elsewhere and we have not signed a new deal so I think we would not agree to anything longer than a 1 year deal and only when we are pretty sure there is not a better job out there. TerminalPortugal
Season 2124/25 Stadium Plans The club announced that they were building a new stadium this year. UEFA Champions League Early in the season we were no match for Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League UEFA Europa League I can't believe it but we have managed to do it again as we pick up the Europa League. We were on the edge all the time through the knockout rounds, just getting past the likes of AZ Alkmaar and Galatasaray. Newcastle being the only fixture where I felt a little comfortable. The final was against Manchester City, and to be honest I expected us to lose. But it ended up being a classic. We managed to nullify them in the first half, and then in the second half we were doing well and then we had centre-back Herman Winter sent off with a quarter of an hour to go. Unbelievably we then took the lead in the 82nd minute of the game through a penalty dispatched by Adam Thomassen. We were moments away from winning and Man City got level in injury time to make it 1-1 and force extra time. In extra time we somehow again got ahead, as Joachim Birk got himself unmarked in the box and smashed in the bottom corner. This was on 110 minutes of the game, and 3 minutes later we fell down to 9 men on the field as fullback Zengin who came on in 76th minute as a substitue got himself a straight red card for a bad tackle. Two minutes later Man City were level again and now we were hanging on for penalties as Man City through men forward. We managed to survive and on penalties we managed to hold our nerve winning 6-5 in the end. A mad Europa League final comes to an end and somehow we had done it despite all the adversity. Sydbank Pokalen We got to the final but Copenhagen proved themselves too strong for us on the night as we lost 2-1. 3F Superliga We were really off the pace in the league very early on and it war pretty obvious that we were not going to retain our title from just a few games into the season as we just drew to many games and were losing the big games against Copenhagen and Midtjylland. I say this and actually in the end we closed the gap as again we had a very good final stage as we racked together the wins and brought it to within 5 points at the end and that was with a draw in the final game against Brondby. Copenhagen again very nearly blew it and we almost got back in, but the damage had been done early on as we finished in 3rd place. Squad and Transfers Some good signings this year in Saric who was pretty key at the back and Fialho did very well coming in. The main man however continued to be Danny Jackman who unfortunately is now getting on a bit but he was brilliant all season and we at heart of everything we did. He managed to do the trifecta of most goals, assists and best average rating. Manager Thoughts Well that was very unexpected to go out there and win the Europa League again with an unfancied side, but we were really dogged the whole campaign as the league campaign suffered I focussed on it, resting players in the league for the Europa League. In the off-season the Copenhagen job became available and they did not even shortlist us because our reputation was so damaged in Wales. I think the Europa League win will most certainly help to recover what was lost and that might mean we will move on now from Randers, but an amazing achievement to win European silverware again here. TerminalPortugal
Season 2125/26 Stadium Plans It seems the club went back to the drawing board with the stadium plans and were now looking at a different project. UEFA Super Cup There would have been some very nice points for this one, but Liverpool won it right at the end unfortunately for us. UEFA Champions League By virtue of our Europa League win we were in the group stages of the Champions League and seeded, but we got a pretty hard group anyway. We did manage to sneak into the Europa League place on the final matchday. We also had to go to Turkey to have any chance and get a win and we did that. We ended the group well but were well out of it. Man City also got a good measure of revenge against us they smashed us 6-1 at the Etihad. UEFA Europa League Another very impressive run in the Europa League could not quite go into the semi finals. Inter won it in extra time after we had come back with 2 goals in the last 3 mintues of the home leg to force extra time. If the away goals rule still stood we would have been through but they found the winner and dumped us out. Sydbank Pokalen We reclaimed the Danish Cup beating our bogey side Vejle in the final 3-1. 3F Superliga We absolutely walked the league this season. To be honest everyone else was pretty bad and we were back to our best in the league as we ended up winning it by 18 points. Copenhagen sacked their manager and to be honest the interim brought them back to respectability as they were looking like they might finish 5th for a while. Squad and Transfers We were not shy in the transfer market and sold on players and brought new ones in. At the start of the season Diachuk was absolutely beasting but eventually he was always going to go and Almeria activated his release clause. In the end we relied on Rannochia and Dubois, Kubheka and Fialho to get us through and they did a fine job. The club are now swimming in cash due to our shrewd investments in players which have been sold for a profit and the runs in Europe Manager Thoughts It has been a good run with Randers, we have won plenty including European honours but our time with the club has come to an end. I will be leaving at the end of the season and I have put my name into the hat at Copenhagen. There is every chance they don't give me the job, since they have already shunned me before but at this stage the points are drying up and European glory is unlikely again. So far it has been mostly straightforward, there were some detours like in Mexico. Yeah manager reputation plays such a big part of your job prospects, if you manage in an obscure league, despite the big honours in the past, it is all forgotten when you get to the present day. I am just glad in Denmark we managed to get a top division job although it was a massive risk that first season.
TerminalPortugal
Season 2126/27 Introduction to the Club Both Copenhagen and Brondby were looking for new managers and we had interviews at both clubs, but Copenhagen would always be first choice and so we instantly accepted becoming their new manager. Copenhagen are the most successful club in Denmark having amassed over 90 titles and over 90 Danish Cups. Pretty crazy. The team is also easily the best in Denmark. They legitimately have one or two world class players. So I am expecting to win the league and finish the leg. UEFA Europa League We got as far as the semi finals and to be honest we should have beaten Marseille. They managed to nullify us, but we should have beaten them by a couple of goals at Parken. It's a shame, but it was not really the main priority for me this season. It was still a good performance from us in Europe. Sydbank Pokalen We have reached the semi final of the cup where we will play OB. 3F Superliga Really in the end it was very easy for us. This team is levels above the rest of the league and Midtjylland did very well to keep on our coat tails for a long while but eventually they could not keep pace and we won the league well in advance of the final week. Squad and Transfers The main issue was keeping hold of our players, Lindegaard was getting offers from Liverpool for £121m, and we were rejecting them and fortunately he was not too bothered about it, but others we had to let go such as Isa Nas, a world class goalkeeper who was already 33 years old so in terms of value for money its not too bad. Eder Jofre a Brazilian centre back was unsettled and left for PSG. In terms of signings we were actually pretty shrewd despite the funds coming in; Cesarono was a £6m signing who has been brilliant and is now worth about £30m. Braudilo Cande was under £1m and worth about £25m. Florian Roth was a pretty decent fee of £13.75m rising to over £20m but he is worth about £40m now. In terms of main players Alexander Kinn is a class above, Lindegaard is a class above, and they were brilliant both of them. Pia and Jensen were goalscorers though with 24 and 28 respectively. Kinn himself got 51 goal contributions showing absolute class. Generally the squad was brilliant this season, we were never going to be touched domestically. Manager Thoughts Well eventually we got to Copenhagen to finish this leg off. I have learnt the lesson of manager reputation again and I need to make sure that I am only going to clubs that have decent rep, so I am not penalised later on, if its possible. Which it probably wasn't in leg UEFA19. We have completed this leg and next up we are starting UEFA16, which consists of Turkey and Israel. I suspect Turkey is going to be the place to be, but lets not write off Israel yet. UEFA17 COMPLETE!!! Manager Profile Career Summary

But I suspect I lost a couple of years at least. Also depends if I had a chance of winning the Copa Lib with Peruvian, Colombian or Chilean teams. Not sure since we never played any of the Argentinean or Brazilian teams. I suspect it might of been tough but doable.
TerminalPortugal
Season 2129/30 Introduction to the Club We were waiting for a few years before we got a job. This time instead of not getting interviews we were waiting out for the right role. We came close to signing for Hapoel Beer-Sheva, but decided against it as I did not like their reputation and the effect it would have on our reputation. Eventually however the manager of Hapoel Tel-Aviv moved onto PSV Eindhoven and we decided to apply and eventually got that job, just at the start of the new league season. Hapoel Tel-Aviv are a very successful club from Tel-Aviv, Israel and are currently by far and away the best side in the country. They are not the most successful club in Israel football history, that honour is for Maccabi Tel-Aviv, our cross town rivals who have 41 league titles. We sit on 28 some way back. UEFA Champions League We did well to make it to the group stages, and were met with our previous club Copenhagen, but we were completely outclassed overall. A solitary draw in Copenhagen was the only point we pulled from the group. Aluf HaAlufim This is the equivalent of the Super Cup and we managed to win it 4-0 against Bnei Yehuda. Gvia HaToto This is the equivalent of a very short League Cup and we lost on penalties after completely dominating the final. Very disappointing for us. Gvia HaMedina The equivalent of the FA Cup in Israel we strolled pretty much to the cup win with a 3-0 win in the final against Hapoel Haifa. Tel Aviv Stock Exchange League It was barely a contest as we walked the league title, winning it by a massive 40 points from second place Maccabi Tel-Aviv. No one could touch us this season as we amassed a record breaking 101 points to win the title. Squad and Transfers We struggled to hold on to some of our players and due to the restrictions in foreign talent eligible for registration to play I focussed mostly on Israeli talent, and we pulled in a few players, although many are young and I expect them to contribute more in the future. Overall three players stood out for me, that was Kobi Levi, Tal Liran and Erik Vicente, who all produced some brilliant numbers this season and as a front three are as formidable as anything in the Middle East. This squad is very good for this level, the question will be can we get them at all to be competitive in Europa and I think this will be far more difficult. Manager Thoughts I good start to UEFA16, with 180 points on the board early and plenty of scope to get more next season as we should really be dominating domestically. A shame we failed in the League Cup equivalent here in Israel as we could have pushed the total up to 210 points and that would have been an excellent start. We will be here next season looking to dominate again domestically and hopefully we can bring back all four trophies. TerminalPortugal
Season 2130/31 UEFA Champions League It was a very decent campaign in the Champions League for us as we ended up winning our group. It was actually a bit strange and it seemed the group had been flipped on it's head as Dortmund and Copenhagen went crashing out and Hapoel and Cluj qualified for the next round. We were really unlucky against Atletico Madrid. We were the better side in away leg and should have won the game. They caught us with some sucker punches in the 2nd leg, but I am very happy we made it to the knockout rounds. Aluf HaAlufim It took penalties but we managed to win the Super Cup. Gvia HaToto The league cup is just cursed for us as penalties this time knock us out at the first stage. Gvia HaMedina The Israeli cup run was pretty easy all told, no one really gave us any problems at all on the way. Tel Aviv Stock Exchange League The league this year was an absolute massacre as we won it by 33 points, less than last season but we only dropped two points the whole season. We scored 139 goals and conceded just 11 and 3 of those were in the final two games. It does not look like anyone can touch us domestically over a 36 game season. Squad and Transfers We had to sell some players this season, as is the way when you are not one of the world's super clubs. Pachima was perhaps the biggest miss for us, as he was pretty crucial in the midfield, but we did not rest on our laurels and brought in replacements. Anton Ivanov is a steal for us at just a few million. He is now worth up to £13.5m and is a brilliant midfield player and only just turned 20 years old. Barazani came in at just 19, and although a lot less exciting than Ivanov he has been solid. Sahar Bar had a breakout season this year as he got the highest rating at the club and Vicente continues to bang in the goals relentlessly with another 39 this season. Manager Thoughts Some good points for us, and we seem to be pretty unstoppable in Israel. The league cup is a bug bear as we have lost out on some good points that could probably of helped us but I can't complain too much. We will be here next season unless a major job comes up in Turkey that I feel I need to take as this really is the only job in Israel that would be worthwhile having at this moment in time. TerminalPortugal
Season 2031/32 Milestone This season saw us take charge of 4,000th match. UEFA Champions League This time around we could not quite make into the Champions League proper losing in the Playoff to Celtic. We were probably better than them at home but just could not get the goal that would force extra time. We drop in the Europa League. Aluf HaAlufim Another Super Cup win for us. Gvia HaToto Finally we got our hands on the League Cup beating Hapoel Be'er Sheva in the final. Gvia HaMedina Another Israeli FA Cup comes to us with a smashing of rivals Maccabi in the final. Tel Aviv Stock Exchange League Another unbeaten season stretched our unbeaten run to over 100 games. Once again it was not close as we won the league on by 33 points from Macabbi Tel-Aviv. UEFA Europa League We went and done it again. Things looked very good when in the group stages as we seemed to sweep aside the opposition early on notably beating Inter Milan 6-2 and Sporting 5-0, which eventually culminated in us winning the group. Slavia Prague proved tricky as they had in the group stage in the next round as we narrowly got past them on penalties. Then it was a real test against Chelsea. They were better than us in Israel but they could not score and we got two late goals, and then in the reverse fixtures we got an early goal up and we clung on at the end as they got two back to win on the night but not over the two legs. Bilbao was a little calmer, despite the loss in Spain we were their match and at home we quickly got back on level terms and scored the goals that would get us through. The other finalist was Dynamo Kyiv and we would be playing in Munich and we wiped the floor with them, winning 4-0 to claim the Europa League. Squad and Transfers In terms of transfers we spread our financial muscle acquired from the Champions League on the likes of Herve Louis and Stuart Thorn who added something to us. Then it was a case of replacing players we lost. The worst player we lost was also our best player in Ivanov. I could have kept him around due to his long contract at the club, but he could have been a disruptive influence and while we could bring in players like Mesut Turan and Julien Richard they did not really replace what we lost in the transfer market as we also lost Bar, Soffer and Buskila. But they were able enough to drag us on the Europa League and win us the trophy. Had we still had the likes of Ivanov, it would have been much easier I suspect. Erik Vicente also went down with an injury so Weizman was actually pretty crucial at times with the odd goal. This season Vicente obviously comes to mind with the goals but again Levi and Sapir as well as Liran were key guys in there. Manager Thoughts Well it all happened with a bang this season, we all the trophies including the one that I did not think we could win which is the Europa League, that now means we have now won 3 Europa Leagues, adding this one to the one we won with Randers and the other SJK. I never thought we would stand much of chance with teams from these kind of countries but it goes to show that it can be done, although you need a healthy slice of luck along the way. We will now be moving on to UEFA15 which consists of Poland and Hungary. UEFA16 COMPLETE!!! Manager Profile Career Summary
TerminalPortugal
Season 2132/33 Introduction to the Club It took a little while to get a job and we were very picky about our next job. Eventually the opportunity came about halfway through the season to join Lech Poznan. We decided to only join for the new season since that would give us a nice new start with the club as opposed to starting mid-season which can often be difficult. Lech are currently the second best side in Poland behind Legia, who are also the most successful club in Poland. Lech are also one of the most successful clubs in Poland having won 37 league titles. Superpuchar We played the Super Cup against Legia and we managed to win 2-0. UEFA Europa Conference League We always seemed to have a chance at winning the Europa Conference Legaue and we managed to do it without much issue. We did finish 2nd place in the group as we could not catch Bodo/Glimt. But we would get them back in the Second Knockout round. In all honesty our run was pretty easy, the closest we came to going out was losing at Aalborg, but I expected us to make things right at home. We managed to go all the way to the final beating Athletic Bilbao in the semi final and then we beat Partizan Belgrade easily in the final 4-0. It is only 50 points, but I am very glad to have won them. Puchar Polski We managed to win the cup pretty much streamrolling all opposition along the way including a 5-0 win in the final. PKO BP Ekstraklasa About as dominant as you can get in the league as we won the title dropping only 2 points all season. A very easy league title as we won it by 22 points from Lechia Gdansk. Squad and Transfers Lech have some good money to spend and we made sure we used just a little bit of it to bring in a few players that would help us. Daghagheleh came in for a very reasonable sum and added a lot to our attack on the left wing. Citerrio came in for just £1.4m and is now worth up to £50m. I was pretty happy generally with our signings. Konik was the main striker up front and scored 31 goals this season and Lezczycnski was the main guy setting things up this season. The Kobryn's were also brilliant this season operating from the wings. Manager Thoughts Some great points this season as we won every competition we entered. I suspect that we will remain in charge at Lech for another season unless we find a job that will bring some way of winning more points that we can get at Lech. The likes of Legia are the kind of job I would be talking about as I think we could galvanise them to do better than they did last season. TerminalPortugal
Season 2133/34 Superpuchar Routine win on the Supercup UEFA Champions League Well this surprised me quite a lot but at the same time I look at the quality we had and I am also not surprised. The group stages was really about winning our home games and this proved enough to get us through to the Second Round, some might say fortuitously as were on the same points as FC Porto. In the next round we taught Barcelona a lesson beating them 3-1 at home and then shocking them at the Nou Camp 2-1, where they were much the better side but our keeper had a great game. Inter was next and we managed to kill them off at home, and we did the same to Tottenham Hotspurs at home where we required penalties. In the final we would play Borussia Dortmund who had knocked out PSG in the semi finals and the final would be played in Germany, but it did not matter as we came through 2-1. Kamil Kobryn scored early and then late in the second half before Dortmund got one back to make the last few minutes interesting. We were European Champions and instantly that completed the journey in Poland and Hungary. Fortuna Puchar Polski We won the Polish cup very easily beating Pogon in the final 4-0 PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa Another very easy league win this year as we take the title by 28 points from Lechia Gdansk. Squad and Transfers There was business enforced on us this season as we had to sell some players. Some the board decided were too good to turn down, others were promised figures that we would sell the player at. So we lost Oskar Konik for £70m to AC Milan, a massive fee and we replaced him with Rafael Medina for a bit of £3m and although he is not the same player he is not far off. Lukasz Kobryn also left for £15m and Daghaghelleh left for £35.5m to AEK Athens. In came Davydenko and Faiola for a combined £39m. So we replaced the players who left for a fraction of the cost and we looked every bit as competent. In terms of performances the likes of Kamil Kobryn and Davydenko were the stand out players this year. Obviously Konik before he left was also performing very well. It's a great side, good enough to compete with the very best in Europe. Manager Thoughts We got our hand on ol' big ears for the first time, that is to say we won the European Cup for the first time, and I am surprised that we were able to do it at a club like Lech Poznan. Needless to say I am very happy we managed it and that concludes this leg of the journey we will be moving on from Poland and Hungary and the next stage we will see us in UEFA14, which brings us to the Czech Republic and Slovakia. TerminalPortugal
Season 2135/36 Introduction to the Club We waited only a little time before the perfect job became available. Sparta Prague's manager decided to take our old job at Lech Poznan. As European Champions I am sure that gave them scope to get a better manager than they normally would. That left the Sparta available and that is what we got. Sparta Prague are currently the 3rd best team in the Czech Republic behind Viktoria Plzen and Slavia Prague, but historically they are the most successful club in Czech football. UEFA Europa Conference League We managed to get to the final of the Conference League but it went very wrong in the final as we ran out of steam and lost heavily to Napoli. MOL Cup We managed to win the MOL Cup beating Sigma Olomouc in the final 3-0. FORTUNA:LIGA We ended up winning the league without much issue, as we took the league by 21 points from Viktoria Plzen. Squad and Transfers We had the same problem that we had at previous clubs where it is hard to hold on to players, the difference is that the valuation of players in the Czech Republic, makes it far more difficult to hold onto key players as they are relatively cheap in comparison to what was occurring in Poland. We lost the likes of Vitorino who was probably our best player, and again we went after cheaper and younger alternatives where we could to maximise the value to the club. In terms of performances, Kohoutek was key up front as he bagged 25 goals this season, and Niels Smith and Klodian Lada also gave some great performances for us this season. Lawrence Beasant was also pretty key from midfield for us. Manager Thoughts A league and cup double is always a nice start. It was a shame about the Conference League and on another night we might have won that too but it went very wrong for us. We will be at Sparta next season and see what we can do in Europe and hopeful secure some more domestic honours in the process. We may need to strengthen the squad as we did have a lot of injuries this season which cost at times. Manager Profile Career Summary
TerminalPortugal
Season 2136/37 Stadium Plans The club is looking to build a new stadium. Česko-slovenský Superpohár This tournament required some invigilation regarding what it is worth, but it essentially a super cup apart from Czech and Slovakian clubs go up against each other. To me despite technically being continental in the sense that it includes teams from multiple countries it will be counted as domestic trophy, so 30 points and depreciates. Anyway we smashed Senica 7-0 to win it. UEFA Champions League We were very unfortunate in the Champions League. it was a horrible group to get and we were about a minute away from qualifying for the next round as we led Benfica in the final game going into the final minute of the game but they equalised to make 3-3. Even worse it meant we finished 4th and therefore our European football was done for the season. MOL Cup A very easy cup win. FORTUNA:LIGA Slavia were a little bit more competitive this season but it was still very comfortable for us in the end as we won the title by 14 points in the end. Squad and Transfers We continued to have to sell our best players and attempt to replace them. We lost our best defender Mane, our best striker Kohoutek, and many others as we just had to accept we were going have to let players move and bring other guys in. Straka came in from Zilina and he was a revelation and is legitimately a world class player. We actually raided the Slovakian league to get in the likes of Mojzis and Vencel as well. Added to that in came Hernandez as a replacement for Kohoutek and de la Torre as a replacement for Mane. We were probably a bit weaker this season and it is always going to be difficult due to the very small valuations for our players. They always look attractive to foreign clubs. I have already mentioned him but Straka was the main man this season as he was the best player, with the most goals and the most assists. Just a superb season from the guy. Manager Thoughts Some decent points, but now depreciation of the points will really kick in so I think it is the final season at Sparta. If the right job comes up at the end of this season I will also consider it. I feel less confident that we can do what we did with Lech Poznan here in the Czech Republic. TerminalPortugal
Season 2137/38 Česko-slovenský Superpohár An easy win in the supercup. UEFA Champions League We were pretty unlucky not to make it through the group, we were the better team in both games against Dortmund and lost both games, and we were unlucky against Marseille at home. But we did make it into the Europa League. UEFA Europa League We managed to go all the way in the Europa League. The Atletico semi final was mad. We won in the first leg and looked to me done, however we were 4-0 down in the second leg at half time and it was looking like we would not progress, but we got a goal back and forced extra time and then it was hell for leather in extra time when we managed to get goals back and the game finished 5-4 to Atletico on the night and we advanced 8-6 on aggregate. In the final it was a tough game but we were mostly in control and won 2-1 to win the cup. MOL Cup A pretty easy run to final where we smashed Viktoria Plzen. FORTUNA:LIGA A pretty easy title win. We ended up 9 points ahead of Slavia, and to be honest the rest of the league were a mile behind. We only really started to falter right at the end where we lost a couple of games but we were too far ahead for it to matter. Squad and Transfers We managed to keep the vast majority of the team together despite massive pressure to sell in many cases. We did not really make too many waves in the transfer market apart from a backup keeper. In terms of performances, Straka continued to be the main man, he was top goalscorer, top assist maker and best average rating. Really everything we did went through him. Manager Thoughts The Europa League came to the rescue again to advance us to the next leg. We were going to have to leave Sparta Prague and look elsewhere as the points were drying up and I would not want to wait around on the off chance that we can win a European competition when we start with not the best chance to start with. So very happy that we secured the trophies and points to advance to the next round. We will be un UEFA13 next which consists of Romania and Bulgaria, two potentially awkward countries to pick up quick points I reckon. UEFA14 COMPLETE!!! TerminalPortugal
Season 2139/40 Introduction to the Club We had to wait until the middle of the Bulgarian season until we found a job. The club was Beroe Stara Zagora, the 3rd best team in Bulgaria on paper, but sitting in 8th. We decided to only take the job at the start of the new season, as I felt that would give us a better base to go forward and work the transfer market to iron out any problems in personnel. Beroe do have some history in Bulgaria having won 11 league titles in the past, although CSKA Sofia are by far the most successful club in the country. Kupa Bulgariya We managed to win the cup, and it was not very difficult as we got through Lokomotiv Plovdiv and Botev in the final 4-2. Efbet Liga We started slowly but eventually we got up to the top of the league and never let it go. I was worried early on that CSKA would just be close to unstoppable but that was not the case and it was very easy in the end to win the league title. We won it by 20 points from Levski Sofia. Squad and Transfers We had to make some major transfers to our defence as we lacked centre backs in general. We really worked on getting the base level of the team around all positions to three stars and having a backup of around 2.5 stars and better than that if possible. We lost key players at key moments, such as Calderon who left us, and was expected to be the starting striker but Yordanov a young striker came into the team and was pretty brilliant from the outset. Valgeirsson from the left and also deployed as a strike finished top goalscorer as was the key man often this season. John Arias, the Venezuelan we picked up from Cherno more, performed brilliantly from midfield. Malandain the understudy to Valgeirsson was also great and every time we called on him he seemed to perform well. Toufiqui was also very good on the right this season, although I would like to see a little bit more end product from him. We have by no means superstar squad there are only a few standouts, but we played well as a team. Manager Thoughts Some early points on the board at Beroe and I am considering a move, especially if CSKA sack their manager which at the moment, the position is precarious. If we get to CSKA, we can bag non depreciated points next year, presuming we can motivate the side and we should be that little bit closer to finishing off this leg. I think we will struggle in Europe with Beroe and I do not see us likely attracting the calibre of player that can do improve us on that front. I was actually quite surprised when I arrived because Ludogorets were playing in the 2nd Division, so they were immediately more or less ruled out as a destination. It's actually a pretty enjoyable league and does not any really bad registration rules, so I am quite happy managing here. I think I am going to need all the help and good wishes to actually complete this challenge.
TerminalPortugal
Season 2140/41 Introduction to the Club The CSKA manager did indeed get the sack and we were only too happy to come on by and become the new manager. CSKA Sofia are probably the biggest club in the country and are the most successful having won 58 league titles. The team is also considered the best in Bulgaria although we proved with Beroe that that was somewhat debateable. UEFA Europa Conference League A bit of disaster for us as we got knocked out immediately out of Europe. In my defence it was one of the first competitive games at the club and we were in the midst of many a transfer, with lots of players coming and lots leaving the club and it left our Europe Conference League registration not particularly strong. Nevertheless we should have done much better. That immediately put is under a little bit of pressure from the board who were expecting to reach the knockout stages of the competition. Kupa Bulgariya Not much issues as we captured the Bulgarian cup beating Cherno more in the final. Efbet Liga It ended up being a casual stroll to the league title as the challengers fell away. Levski were the nearest challengers finishing some 21 points behind us. Considering how well we did with Beroe last year they were luck to even make the Championship round. Squad and Transfers Quite a lot of transfers as we lost players and did what any self respecting former manager of league champion does and raid them for their best players as we ransacked Beroe Stara Zagora for their best talent including the likes of Krum Yordanov and Preslav Todorov to name just a couple of in total eight signings we made from our former side. We also brought in a fair few others, some panned out and others didn't but it improved our team and depth substantially despite the initial hit to team cohesion and morale. In the end I would have to say that Yordanov was the keep player for us as he bagged 23 goals, showing that he can also get the job done in a CSKA shirt. Kalkan, who was kind of an afterthought when I bought ended up being extremely important to us as he got the best average rating at the club. All in all I would not say I love this team despite our success. I did really like my Beroe team but this one, just has something about it that I am not satisfied with, whether we will continue to go crazy in the transfer market will depend on outgoings and what I can find in the transfer market. Manager Thoughts We won another Bulgarian double, this time with CSKA Sofia and things are looking good. It remains to be seen whether we will remain with CSKA or whether we will opt for somewhere else. Our European performance has left me with some questions to answer, and while I can probably put it down to taking over a new team, part of me does wonder whether we can be competitive when it comes to Europe. I know elsewhere I have questioned it and been proven wrong, but I wonder if this is where I may be proved right. If that is to be the case we will need to move on again before this leg is done. TerminalPortugal
There is a good chance that this save is dead. The save acted a bit weirdly and I decided to save and reload the game. When I tried to reload the game it crashed. The most concerning thing is that now I cannot load any games and also cannot start any new games. It appears that my game now no longer works. I have tried removing all graphics, any files, all saves, all skins everything. I deleted preferences and cache, updated my graphics driver and nothing has worked. So not sure what do next really. If anyone has any ideas let me know. Would not want it to end like this, plus it's very annoying that I can't play the game at all now.
