palmamiguel92
You can guess by the title, I was looking to really hurt my opposition with a good high pressing ability, and the first season using this tactic really was very promising. It's the second season with my OGC Nice save, the first one I used my 4-2-2-2 with great success too, also finishing with 104 points in League1! but our defensive behaviour, despite not being bad at all, it wasn't the best in the league, both PSG and Monaco conceded less goals and I was looking to be the best side of the league at everything. But not only the best in the league, we became the best.....in Europe. Overview The Tactic The idea behind this 4-3-1-2 actually came from my 3-5-2 High Octane Vertical Football tactic. I started to reshape the team into a 4-4-2 diamond to break from more difficult matches, and it was working, so it gave me the ideia to take the same philosophy of the 3-5-2 and use it in a save where I could test the 4-4-2 diamond, and after that, shaping it into a 4-3-1-2 for better pressing results along the way, took me only the pre season to change that to be honest. I could do a tactical write up of this one, but instead i made a highlight video with more or less 20 minutes with more interesting plays from a tactical point where you can see clearly the idea behind it. I'm definitly going to do another season with this tactic as well as use it in others. We improved out defensive numbers, conceding less goals, Around 10 less goals conceded and went from 3rd best defending team to the very best. AF - Fast and technical forward, he's going to bull the defenders with the ball, starting off wide to help stretch the defensive line and look for inside runs PF - Strong, tall, needs all the tools to keep pressing up front and help battle for possession in the middle of the park and even wide. Also a good passing ability, he's a complete forward really
Sinbad7104
Ok so i know its 2028 but im doing a Youth to Gold and my team is only just making Champions league knockouts to give you an idea of how good the squad is.. plugged this is at the end of December and heres how the following 16 games have gone. The Boavista game can only be described as a blip giving up 2 late goals. Very impressed so far!

Sometimes the flat 4-4-2 is a problem, but I use a flat 4-4-2 as a counter measure for that

Nitro871
This 4-3-1-2 looks interesting, I haven't had any success with this formation in FM22 so I'll give it a go

If you are getting abused on the wings, switch to the 4-4-2 and drop the inverted wingers into the central midfield line. Against weaker op. who are very narrow and deep, this 4-4-2 is what i use to break them down
