noincophydr
These regulations will become a game changer. Arguably, should have these rules been in place now, Mbappe coudn't have signed his new contrat with PSG. The new regulations will see clubs subject to squad cost controls for the first time. The cost control rule restricts spending on player and coach wages, transfers, and agent fees to 70% of club revenues. (The gradual implementation will see the percentage at 90% in 2023/2024, 80% in 2024/2025, and 70% in 2025/2026). This requirement provides a direct measure between squad costs and income to encourage more performance-related costs and to limit the market inflation of wages and transfer costs of players. https://www.uefa.com/returntoplay/news/0274-14da0ce4535d-fa5b130ae9b6-1000--explainer-uefa-s-new-financial-sustainability-regulations/
loki_jon
To be fair to SI, these rules are a façade for the clubs that are PR machines for petro-states, not actual enforceable statutes. Man City was able to show "blatant disregard" and not be deemed in breach. PSG has been free to ignore for years, this will not change. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/53571659
noincophydr
@loki_jon I fully understand where you are coming from but the changes in the UEFA FFPL will be rolled from 2023/2024, so we can't know if UEFA will be leniant with the state clubs as in the past. loki_jon
We can only hope, these rules are built to ensure the sustainability of the game in the long run. Too many clubs that are essential community assets are being lost as they try to survive in this artificial environment.

Arla2002
@noincophydrI really hope that SI incorporates these new rules in the game. On a sidenote, I would also like to see the salary cap improved in La Liga 1&2 in the game.

It breaks totally the immersion when you play in the Spanish leagues.
