New Game Set Up

Hi,

I want to start a new game with an English Championship team, but was wondering how to set up a new game. After 5 seasons on my previous save, the game time speed went very slow (I had England league playable and 6 other nations top leagues as view only with a medium database). I have no intention of managing a team other than the one i start with. So am i best just selecting that league as playable and having a large database or selecting other countries as well and having them as view only? I play the full version on a laptop.
