Determine key player in tactic?

Recommended Posts

In any 4231 formation, the AMC is a key position as it is the link between attack and defense. He will not only need a role/duty in order to do so effectively, but it will likely need to be a very good (intelligent) player.

It might not be the only key position or player, but that depends on the tactical setup and the quality of the players you have. On one team, a certain 4231 may not be spectacular, but in another that same 4231 tactic is so much better because there's a special player that just makes it 'tick' so much better.

There is no 'most important' -- it's a team game, as I'm always telling the journalists. The thing is to check an individual player's traits against the defaults for the role. For example, make sure you're not trying to get a winger who likes to hug the touchline, to cut inside like an IF.
