Too many goals over a season

Is it just me that notices that FM follows a way too high scoring trend of goalscoring over a season?
While a top goalscorer may have a regular number of goals, every team scores far too many goals in comparison to what a regular normal season irl would score.
Obviously what im basing this on is a few leagues that me personally have paid attention to, and considering FM is loosely based on english football I may be entirely incorrect here.
But if you disagree with this opinion, is there any way I personally could mod the game to have less goals scored? So i'd have more 1-0s or 0-0s/1-1s rather than the usual 3-2 or 3-1 scorelines.
