B.W.G
You can't win anything with kids - Alan Hansen, August 1995 An infamous quote which was later proved wrong when Man Utd won the title in the same season. The only difference between what I am doing and what Man Utd did is that I will not be signing any players ever as I will be relying on the youth system. With that being said, the Alan Hansen quote was said about Manchester Utd so for me it would be fitting to do this with a team from Manchester but with Man Utd and Man City being far too high in the English pyramid and FC Utd of Manchester being a team who I have no interest in,I decided to go much lower in the English Pyramid and I have found a team from Manchester who play in the 14th tier! The team in question who I will be playing as is... As you can see from below, they could not possibly get any lower So this would be the perfect place to start a long journey to the top as there is nothing to speak of as the club has no honours and it's facilities are as low as they can go.The other thing that attracted me to them is the ability to produce a lot of dual nationality English/Polish players so that will be interesting to keep an eye on in the future as we could affect the senior teams of two different countries. To speed things up in this save I will be using the Instant Result button till I am in the football league then I will be more hands on,as for updates the main focus will be on pre-season,youth intakes and end of season updates. There will be monthly updates regarding progress of the club but they will not be in great detail.
B.W.G
The Team To start things off we have a pretty decent size squad of 23 players in the first team and with it being an eighteen game league season,I am happy with the team we have available to help us this season. We do have some options in the under 23's and the under 18's,they have high potential but they are currently lacking in current ability but they will be called up if needed. Under 23's Under 18's This gives us a grand total of 33 players to start off with which is a good number and will increase when we get round to the youth intake in the spring so I am more then happy with the starting team.As for tactics,I haven't though about it but I am leaning more towards a basic formation with nothing too fancy as fancy instructions at this level may be above the capabilities of some of these players. B.W.G
Lancashire & Cheshire Amateur League Premier Division - Pre-Season 2021/22 Profile - General - Vision - Facilities - Finances Season Preview - Expectations Transfers - Released Nothing to see here at the minute but that will be change as we are losing Irish Winger Christoph Lienbacher in Novermber, the Irishman will be joining Boyle Celtic. Pre-Season Fixtures I was pleased with this as it we played really well despite the two games where we didn't win.The teams were a real mix but these were already arranged so the results from the matches against Ollerton (10th tier English team),Prestatyn Town (2nd Tier Welsh Team) and Sidac Sports & Social (13th tier) are the results to mainly focus on and I'd say we exceeded expectations in all three games. The Team Tactic Michal Kotowicz Samuel Agyemang Sebastian Kmeic Jim Muir Craig Gallagher Overall Thoughts Not a lot to say as we have managed to keep the team pretty much as it were when we started although we do have a couple of injuries to deal with at the start of the season.Surprisingly we are the media favourites to win the title which is surprising as the board are only want a top half finish so the board's expectations is where I will be aiming for.Only other things to note is that we got a kit sponsorship worth £700 for the season and we managed to sell a grand total of zero season tickets! Time to see what we can do in the 14th tier. Edited September 5, 2022 by B.W.G
B.W.G
September 2021 Solid start to the season with seven points from nine, although with our two wins we did have a player sent off in both games while we didn't have a player sent off in the 2-2 draw against Abacus Media.Jan Bartosz has made a fantastic start to the season as he netted four times in three games. B.W.G
December 2021 Four more points gained in December as we reach the halfway point of the season with a five point lead so everything looks good at this moment in time.We recorded a solid win over Salford Victoria before drawing with North Walkden which was a very even match. B.W.G
January 2022 Had a terrible start to January as then Star Player Michal Kotoicz left us to join 12th tier side Brighouse Sports, with that I changed to a narrow 4-4-2 as we don't have any other decent wingers and it worked wonders as we steamrolled through all three teams and scored fifteen goals in the process. We now have a eight point lead with six games to go so the title and promotion is firmly in our hands. Also got to credit Gary O'Leary who netted five times and has taken top spot in the goal scoring charts in the league. B.W.G
February 2022 . Another two wins for us which leaves us needing one point from the final four games to clinch the title. If I knew the 4-4-2 narrow diamond was this good then I would of changed to it sooner. No issues in either win as we easily disposed of De La Salle Reds and AFC Oldham. With the title being pretty much guaranteed, can we also go the season unbeaten. B.W.G
Youth Intake 2022 It's about what I expected from the intake due to being so low down,it is really hard to judge but we do have a few players who can make an impact.Really pleasing to see a good number of English/Polish dual nationalities in the intake.Hopefully this will continue long into the future.

B.W.G
April 2022 Same story in both games,we dominated the games but we just couldn't find a second goal in either game.On the plus side we avoided defeat so that meant we went the season unbeaten so I will be celebrating that fact and it's great to see that we get out of the 14th tier at the first attempt so I really couldn't of asked for a better start to life at Manchester Polonia. Competition and Stats Lancashire & Cheshire Amateur League Premier Division - Winners I couldn't of asked for a better season,we won the league which meant we won promotion and we did while going invinvible. This was the best first season I could ask for! The Team Accolades - Best XI Gary O'Leary Piotr Sobota Jan Bartosz Jack Macdonald Fabian Binder Manager's Review I really couldn't of asked for a better season as we won the league and we did it by going unbeaten throughout the season,it's just a shame that the average attendance of 31 were there to see us achieve that feat but it's the start of the journey and we have made a successful first step so it is onwards we go.The only thing of concern is actually off the field and it is to do with our debt,we are currently £16k in the red which isn't great at this level and with our ticket prices being £2,it may take some time to get out of the red so hopefully we will get entered in cup competitions later down the line to help with issues like debt. B.W.G
Manchester Football League Division 2 - Pre-Season - 2022/23 Profile - General - Vision - Facilities - Finances Season Preview - Expectations Transfers - Released I am pleased to say that we managed to keep everyone as no one left the club so that was a massive plus for us as we don't have to worry too much about cohesion in the team as the majority of players are familiar with each other.I am expecting to lose players due to being an Amateur side and keeping the players will be quite difficult and a few of them do currently have interest in them so we may see some leaving sooner rather than later. Pre-Season Fixtures Other than the disappointing collapse against Atherton LR which saw us blow the lead twice,I am really happy with the way we played during the pre-seaason.The highlight of pre-season actually came in our first match as we beat 10th tier side Cammel Laird, what a fantastic result and performance that was.The loss against Atherton LR was annoying but the loss against Steeton was deserved as they were the better side so no complaints from me for that match. The Team Tactic Sebastian Kmiec Gary O'Leary Jan Bartosz Samuel Agyemang Jim Muir Manager's Thoughts I think we are in a very good position from when we first kick off the new season as we have not lost anyone so the cohesion in the team will be slightly higher than the majority of the teams in this league so we may be able to get off to a quick start if we play well. The board want a top half finish which is definitely possible but we are one of six teams who are rated at 50-1 for the title so that does look unlikely but at least we only have to get a top two spot for us to get out of this league.Off the pitch, the debt continues to grow and we are not in any cup competitions so it will more than likely continue to grow unless we see a massive increase to the average attendance. The other thing to note is that we actually have season ticket holders as that figure has gone from 0 to 29 and that for me is a nice increase so we could get around the 50 mark at some point this season. Time to show the Manchester Football League Division 2 what we are made of! Edited September 13, 2022 by B.W.G
B.W.G
September 2022 What a great start to the season this has been as we picked up three wins from three and finish the month sitting in second place which is brilliant!I do however think we were fortunate in the first game as I made a mistake as I forgot to make players unavailable for an u18 match so we were missing ten players for the first game due to my error but luckily we ran out 4-2 winners.Great to see Dominik among the top scorers as he hit three in three. My favourite moment of the month was beating Manchester Central 4-1 as this was the first time facing another side from Manchester so to win it made it all the sweeter! B.W.G
October 2022 First up I had turned down eleven offers for interviews for clubs in the 12th and 13th tier. On the pitch we remain unbeaten but we really struggled in the first two games as our finishing cost us in the first match while the second game saw us have to come back from 2-0 down as we played terrible but thanks to a late equaliser,we kept our unbeaten run.No issues in the last three matches of the month as we smashed all three teams and we fully deserved to win those games.Bartosz was definitely out player of the month as he netted six times in five games and that has made him the top scorer in the league so far. B.W.G
November 2022 The fantastic news is that we won all four games which means we now have a four point lead at the top of the table and a six point lead over third placed Wythenshawe Amateurs Reserves in the battle for promotion. We won the first two games comfortably but the last two were anything but comfortable, this was especially the case against Bolton Borough where we had to play the last 25 minutes with ten men as the ref showed his bias against us which was annoying. However, things weren't all rosy as we lost then Star Player Sebastian Kmiec to 11th tier side Whitby Fishermen's Society. One final thing to note is I have to give massive credit to our striker partnership of Jan and Dominik as they have netted twenty goals between them which equates to roughly 54% of our goals this season so I am hoping they can continue with that.

I'm over the moon with the positions as we need better options for those positions. DM we only have two options and neither are brilliant while I need a solid third option for keeper as I feel the higher rated one has been underperforming.I will always need centre backs so an extra one won't hurt, especially if he can immediately break into the first team. The winger will be a bit of a weird one as I am playing a narrow 4-4-2 diamond but if I can then I will see if I can train him as a ST. B.W.G
December 2022 Three games, three wins and three different performances but there was one constant and that was Jan Bartosz netting in all three games as he took his tally to eighteen for the season. We now sit nine points clear of Wythenshawe Amateurs Rserves in the title race and thirteen points clear of AFC Monton in the promotion race.It was the AFC Monton match where I thought we could lose points as they are one of the better teams in the division but it was a close match which was decided by a penalty.Without a doubt my favourite match was the 4-0 win over Manchester Central,we were missing two players through suspension and my first choice DM was injured for the match so that was a terrific win for us!
B.W.G
January 2023 One thing for certain from January's fixtures is that the fans definitely got value for money as twenty eight goals were scored in four games,I was really pleased with our attack as they looked sensational but our defending at times was nothing short of suicidal and really needs to be looked at.The match against Wythenshawe Amateurs Reserves was the one that made me nervous as the match saw eight bookings in total,a red card for each side and a very late winner from MacDonald. With the results from January,we now have a seventeen point lead over Wythenshawe Amateurs Reserves in the title race and a nineteen point lead over AFC Monton in the promotion race and things are firmly in our hand at this moment in time.
B.W.G
February 2023 We kept our unbeaten run during February as we picked up ten points from twelve and that was enough to secure the title for us so we will be going up to tier twelve as champions. The only downside to this month is the loss of our winning run,the 1-1 draw against Hollinwood was just one of those days and it was one to forget if you played in the MC position for us.David Langford was sent off for two bookable offences while Jack MacDonald went off injured with a pulled groin but will be back for the next match.I also have to heap on more praise on the partnership of Bartosz and Dominik as they are now up to 38 goals between them which is just over half of the total we have scored this season. B.W.G
Youth Intake 2023 Ashton Lawton Maciej Zieba Luke Law A few of the players look as good if not better than some of the ones we currently have so this intake only improves our team in terms of quality and depth so that will be very helpful over the next couple of season.Lawton will be starting as soon as he can while Zieba and Law will be back ups in the first team but I am pretty excited with what we have here.
B.W.G
March 2023 Our 43 game unbeaten streak came to an end as we lost 2-1 to East Manchester,I'm disappointed in the result but it was one of those typical games where you can see that you are the better team but we couldn't make it count as we squandered too many chances but at least we returned to winning ways in the 1-0 win over Hindley Juniors in what I can only describe as a dull affair. Also look at the top scorers in the league, our partnership of Barosz and Dominik along with our shadow striker O'Leary, what a fantastic display of attacking we have put on this season!

B.W.G
April 2023 I am so glad the season is now over as we have been shocking the last couple of months,we picked up three points from nine in April with our only points coming from the 3-2 victory over Avro Reserves. We were nothing short of embarrassing against Bolton Borough while our defence cost us against AFC Monton. Two wins from the last six games, thank god we don't have to play again this season as our defence has been shocking recently as we kept one clean sheet in the last seven matches. B.W.G
Manchester Football League Division 2 - End of Season - 2022/23 Profile - General - Vision - Facilities - Finances Season Review Transfers - Released - Youth Players Three players were released from their contracts and I can't say I would miss any of them, they were all moaning about their game time but as they have fallen down the pecking order due to a lack of improvements,it wasn't a difficult decision to get rid of them.Between them they made 47 appearances across two seasons with most of them being Krupa from the subs bench. The one transfer which did happen was Kmiec and I was really gutted with that one as he was our star player but he has joined a team in the 11th tier and is playing regularly so I can't fault him for that. Competitions Manchester Football League Division 2 - Winners We won the title at our first time of asking which is absolutely brilliant and when we wrapped the title up back in February,we were actually on course for a second successive unbeaten season but then we finished the season way below the levels we had been playing that as we won two in the last six games. We still won the title by a large margin but I wasn't happy with the way we finished the season as our defence let us down massively. The strike partnership between Jan Bartosz and Dominik Swiatek was brilliant as they netted 41 goals between them with Gary O'Leary netting another 14 as a Shadow Strike so our attacking force gets an A+ for their performances throughout the season. Players,Stats and Awards Overall Best XI Accolades - Best XI Jack MacDonald Jan Bartosz Gary O'Leary Dominik Swiatek (YP1F) David Langford (YP1N) Manager's Thoughts Started off brilliantly and we were on course for another unbeaten season but things took a downward turn after winning the title and we finished the season quite poorly. Our attacking force is always a positive as they have once again played brilliantly and we were the top scorers in the league by thirty two goals which was excellent and I think if we can keep them then they could possibly do the same in the twelfth tier.On the pitch, the annoyance was our defence which I will need to look at tactically as we were conceding far too many goals for my liking, off the pitch the annoyance was the finances which haven't really worsened over the course of the season but on the other hand they haven't improved either so I think the chairman may need to dip his hands into his pocket to help us out.The attendance did see an increase but nothing too major to make a difference in the finances but we also got £150 for winning the league which is better than nothing. B.W.G
Manchester Football League Division 1 - Pre-Season - 2023/24 Profile - General - Vision - Facilities - Finances Season Preview - Expectations Transfers - Released Three players were released and I won't miss any of them as none of them really featured in the last two seasons and they would just be sitting around doing nothing again so I got rid of them to avoid having too big of a squad. No one joined another club during pre-season but there has been quite a few interested in some of my players during the off season. Pre-Season Fixtures Nothing too major during pre-season as I wanted to face smaller sides to get morale a bit higher after our poor ending to season,it worked wonders as the players have better morale going into the new season so hopefully we can get off to a quick start due to it being a smaller league, this means we need every point possible if we are to keep moving up. The Team Tactic Gary O'Leary Pawel Bator (YP1B) Jim Muir David Langford (YP1N) Dominik Swiatek (YP1F) Manager's Thoughts Not a lot to day as most of the action was actually me getting interview offers from clubs as high as the sixth tier.Only three players left the club and they were released and I have called up some more of the youngsters who I think can make the step up so overall I am happy with the squad going into the new season. The league itself is bit of a weird one,the Manchester Football League Division One is a ten team league with two promotion spots and three relegation spots so any stupid mistakes could potentially have deadly consequences due to it being a small league. The board for us this season want a top half finish which looks doable but looking at the odds for the title, maybe we could fight for the second place spot which is a promotion spot as our odds aren't that far behind Heywood St.James.I don't think we have a chance against Hinsford as their odds for the title are ridiculous and if they live up to their expectation then they could runaway with it. Time to see if we can make an impact in the twelfth tier! Edited September 25, 2022 by B.W.G
B.W.G
September 2023 Tremendous start to life in the twelfth tier as we won all three games and that includes a fantastic 3-1 over Hindsford who are the title favourites. The win over Astley & Tyldesley was amazing as two goals in the last ten minutes saw us snatch all three points.Interesting things to point out so far,the goals for the team have been spread out and are not coming from one area while the second thing to point out is that AFC Monton who were promoted with us are currently in second place. B.W.G
October 2023 We picked up seven points from nine which was enough to see us keep top spot in the league. We had two solid wins including a 5-1 victory over AFC Monton and that was brilliant as we thumped the other side who were promoted with us.The draw against Poynton Junior may seem like a solid result but it was actually quite embarrassing for us as we couldn't even beat ten men.We have a five point lead with twelve games left so things are looking pretty good for us!
B.W.G
November 2023 We won matches in November and that has left us seven points ahead of Manchester Gregorians with ten games left to play so we are sitting pretty at the top of the table. It was a bizarre month for performances as Elton Vale were much more trouble to face than Manchester Gregorians were despite their standings in the table. We went a goal down early on in the match but we came back strongly before we conceded a consolation goal in the 94th minute whereas we were always in control against Manchester Gregorians and the score line reflected that as we cruised to a 3-1 win,

B.W.G
December 2023 We picked up nine points from twelve as we remained and increased our lead at the top to fourteen points, with six games left to play it is clear to see that the title is ours to lose.As for the matches themselves,we started the month off by getting smashed by Wilmslow Albion before we won our next three and that included beating the pre-season title favourites Hindsford and sending them into the relegation zone.Hard to pick the reason why we have been so good this season as the defence, midfield and attack have been superb this season,it has been a real treat to see the team's performance this season.
B.W.G
January 2024 Just the one game in January and it was a straight forward win over Poynton Junior, the damage had been done in the first half as we went into half-time with a 3-0 lead, the second half saw us playing in second gear and we still managed to get a goal. This result was an improvement on our last one against Poynton Junior as they are one of two sides who have taken points off us this season. We have five games left to play and we only need one point to secure promotion and two points for the title so we are extremely close now. B.W.G
February 2024 Two games, two wins and we are now going up as champions. We had no issues in either game as we comfortably won them both, the win against Heywood St.James won us promotion and the smashing of AFC Monton secured the title.Seeing Leopold as the top rated player in the league is a welcome surprised and I can't find a reason to drop him but I can't say I am surprised to see O'Leary up there as well. The other category we are dominating is yellow cards and I am not surprised by that as I keep seeing the same line on the match reviews of such a ref came under fire for his bias! Not a load of difference in quality between the teams so it's just getting the better of them tactically. Although that will drastically change with our next intake as there are some real gems in the intake.
