talino7 Posted September 1, 2022 Share Posted September 1, 2022 I'm assuming that if you play a team that likes to work the ball through the middle you would set the team instructions to "force them to the outside". Would you also set you defensive width to narrow or will that counteract the force to the outside instruction? conversely if an opposing team likes to play wide do you force them to the inside? It means basically your defense becomes much more compact than normal If you mean attacking width, it depends: Narrow attacking width will make it so it'll be easier to go to your defensive shape, but the attacking shape might not be so good if you don't have anyone stretching them wide.
