Emozil
Bize Her Ye Trabzon - Everywhere is Trabzon to us. Trabzonspor is a Turkish sports club located in the city of Trabzon. Formed in 1967 through a merger of several local clubs, the men's football team has won seven Süper Lig championships. They have won seven Süper Lig titles and were the first non Istanbul-based club to win the league. They also have won nine Federation Cup (Turkish Cup) titles. The club won their first championship title in 1975–76, and won three championship titles in a row in the 1978–79, 1979–80 and 1980–81. They would add one more title in 1983-84 before embarking on a 38 year championship drought. This drought eventually came to an end after they secured the championship in 2021-22. I could say a lot more about the club, and its fans, but instead I’ll ask you to watch this. A documentary from Copa90 that recently won the Broadcast Awards Sports Documentary of the year. Once In A Lifetime - Trabzonspor The Stadium:Şenol Güneş Spor Kompleksi Akyazı Stadyumu, is a stadium located in Trabzon, Turkey. It opened to public in December 2016 and has a capacity of 40,782 spectators. It is named after the Turkish football manager and former goalkeeper of Trabzonspor and Turkey national football team, as well as former coach of the national team, Şenol Güneş.
Emozil
The Squad:League Rules:As we can only have 8 foreign players in the starting 11, long term I’ll try to limit myself to 8 foreign players in the whole squad. I want to make this squad very heavy on Turkish youth in the long term. The Tactic: I’m not 100% set on Roles/Instructions yet, but after seeing our squad. I think we have to play a 4231. As we’re one of the stronger teams in the year I’ll probably play on the front foot and play a passing style of football, with an away tactic that will be slightly more defensive. Recruitment: I will be mainly using moneyball recruitment. I will be using this thanks to the brilliant work of Bust The Net and his ‘’Dr Jit’’ tool and the brilliant work of @Fmplaya and his Statistics spreadsheet. Not every signing will be moneyball based. If I see a 17 year old in the Turkey under 21s with some amazing attributes, you bet I’m signing him up. Long term I may move this save to be without attributes, but I’ll wait until I’m comfortable first. Don’t want to run before I can walk. I’ll be mainly looking into leagues closer to us (Eastern European leagues, African leagues and Asian leagues) as there will be some gems there. Emozil
Pleasing news. We already have our first trophy in the bag. Beating Sivasspor 3-0 in the Turkish Super Cup. Other than that a good pre season aside from the 0-0 draw with beleneses. No players ins or outs to mention. Plenty of movement on the staff though. Including Massimo Taibi, Shay Given and Sami Hyppia. Time to get some league games played. Expect another update today.
Emozil
A solid start to the month. Unbeaten in all competitions so far. Did as well as expected with the easy start we had (Besiktas aside) Our champions league group makes me want to cry. Expecting a 0 point finish. Here's how the league table looks at the end of august. Next update will be before the winter/world cup break.

Emozil
So we have played until the winter break. Only 1 loss in the league. Did better than expected in the Champions League with a win over Milan. Sadly, we still finished bottom of the group. We are top of the table by 6 points, but the teams below us have a game in hand. If anyone wants to see how the Champions league groups finished, then here you are. I can't have any complaints with our loss vs Gala. We played most of the game with 10 men and it was a 92nd minute winner. Hamsik has his deal up at the end of the season, and he's very inconsistent and on over 60,000 pounds a week. So I doubt I will renew. I'll post a mini update of the world cup. I'll be holidaying through it as we're on a break anyway, so nothing for me to do until our cup game in mid December

Emozil
Here's how the world cup went, for those of you that are interested. A repeat of the 2018 final. On the player front. We have sold Manolis Siopis for 4 million to Southampton. Would have liked to get more, but he never played. We also have 3 incomings. 2 for next season, and 1 for this season on a 6 month loan. First signing is Lukas Kalvach. Can cover at DM/CM or at LB. Could also be retrained to a RB. He's not the tallest but hes good with both feet and some great physicals. The second signing is Jose Campana. He's basically just as good as Hamsik, on a third of the wage. So will be a adequate replacement when Hamsik leaves on a free in the summer. Our third signing is a name everyone reading this will be familar with. It's Youssoufa Moukoko. It's only on a 6 month loan. But Dortmund wanted no fee, and only 40% of his wages covered. I can't really say no to it. I'll rotate him game by game with Gomez to keep both happy. Quite a few of our foreign players are on the older side, so I hope to have a bit of a clear out in the summer. I will stick to my 8 non turkish player limit eventually, but it wont be something I want to jump into if it will hinder the squad/save. No moneyball signings yet. They will all be at the end of the season once we have enough statistics. Just to clarify, not every signing will be used using data or spreadsheets, if i see a player that offers us value like Campana, I'm going to sign them. Obviously I'm a few years off any talented regens coming through other clubs that I can poach. I'm still waiting news on my own youth academy! Next update will be a end of season update. Hopefully with the league title to follow. Edited November 9, 2022 by Emozil
Emozil
We are champions of Turkey! I did start to worry about our form towards the end of the season, but we still managed to see it through. Mainly due to Fenerbahce falling off a cliff form wise. No other team really came close this year. Here's how the league table finished. We have a very hefty budget, and I have a list of who I want out. So we should have a busy summer ahead. We also won manager of the year, as well as all 4 position based player of the year awards belonging to our players. Next update will be a recruitment based update. Where I will finally get to put my moneyball based recruitment to the test. On the downside - I am away from today until Tuesday, so sadly you'll have to wait a while for the next update. Thanks to all that have read so far. Onto season 2, hopefully getting further in europe, and continuing towards the goal of being the biggest club in Turkey

Emozil
RECRUITMENT: OUTS: I won't go 1 by 1 on the outs. Here's all the sales for a monetary value. I would have liked to keep Bartra and Bakasetas, but Bartra wanted to leave, and Bakasetas had 1 year left and wanted to leave. It also looks like we will be losing Maxi Gomez, Spurs bid 15 million and the player wanted to leave. I'd only get about 2 million due to transfer revenue settings, and Valencia getting 25% of the fee. The bid has accepted, but I'm hoping for a change of heart from the player. Now for the incomings. Johan Hove - recommended by my DOF Massimo Taibi (yes, that one) on a end of contract. Young and can cover a wide range of positions. Wasn't going to say no on a free. Jonas David - found using the DR Jit tool mentioned in a previous post. A very high defensive action score, young and plenty of improvement. We picked him up for 1.6 million. Oscar Hojlund - picked up for 800k from Copenhagen. One for the future so loaned out to play first team football with the hope of him being a starter next season. Kerem Akturkoglu - Picked up using the FMPlaya spreadsheet as mentioned in a previous post. Played well for Galatasary last season and was available for 3.4 million. Main thing that stood out was an average rating of 7.03 in the division we're in. He also had 4 dribbles per 90 minutes, so it's good to see someone willing to take on defenders. Mert Muldur - on the transfer list, turkish, and adds competition for the RB spot. 1.2 million. Emirham Delibas - one for the future for 300k. Doesn't look amazing star wise but I think he can be moulded into a solid squad player. Reiss Nelson - Available on a free following his deal expiring with Arsenal. Still had to pay 3 million(!) in compensation. Due to him being English I'm convinced we can sell him on to a Premier league team for more than we paid. The big one, and hopefully our Gomez replacement! (ignore the fact I bought him in before Gomez wanted to leave) on a FREE. Surprised another club didn't take him before we could get him in. If he hits form I'm expecting a big profit. Jan Paul Van Hecke - 750k from Brighton. On the transfer list due to him no longer getting a Work Permit. Another one I hope to develop for a profit. Diego Moreira - recommended via my scouts. Another one for the future. Doron Leidner - my backup LB. Very solid option that I expect to get a good amount of minutes. He's only here on a loan but we do have an option to make the move permanent. Another one for the future. Picked up by me scouting all of Altinordu's youth team. And last but not least - Datro Fofana. Remember what I said about wanting less foreign players? Well despite me bringing in 9 foreign players this summer, we still have less than last season! This one was a bit of a panic buy when the Gomez news broke, but it's one I trust to work. Can play anywhere across the wings or up front. 1 million up front rising to 6 million over a set amount of years. I feel we are a bit light on CB. So I may still bring in one more player. We will have to wait and see as I don't want to spend just for the sake of it. Every player i've signed improves us in some area of the pitch, or will (hopefully) improve us once they develop. I'm expecting a much better push in the CL this year based off our transfers. Can't wait to have egg on my face when we finish with 0 points and a -25 goal difference. Emozil
Need some advice so will put the save on hold until I know what to do. 15 million sale just to only get 850k of it. Even when I have a big budget what I do is offer the player a new contract and let him decide clubs. I feel thts the most realistic approach. Then comes down to the players ambitious. Emozil
We've played through a few matches, and we're once again dealt a very difficult hand in Europe. We also have our first loss of the season at home to table toppers Fenerbahce We're 100% more inconsistent than we was this time in our first season. We're 5 points off first with a game in hand though. Here's a look at both tables. (league and CL) Have a look at the goal times in the Villarreal game. Sickening. Emozil
We are once again league champions - but not only that. We've completed one of the goals in this save, and we have won the treble. Just for some further updates, we lost our main keeper in January deadline day, as the board thought 20 million was too good to refuse. With no time for a replacement our back up keeper had his opportunity and took it. I also signed Yusuf Demir after he was transfer listed. I've had a bit of a change in recruitment. After another 4th place finish in the Champions League. I've decided the only way I'm going to really progress is by buying younger players and developing them into players good enough to help me progress in Europe. There's no point spending big on a first team squad that's already doing well in the league. So going forward I'll be mainly signing U19 players. I've already started this. Here's some players I've signed so far. Clearly I have a thing for Spaniards. - Next update will be a recruitment update, I'd guess with a lot less focus on the first team!

Emozil
A pretty sad update. Sadly this series has been drawn to a close after my contract was terminated from Trabzonspor. Only winning 2 of our first 10 played. alongside our issues with Atmosphere. I'm not surprised about this. I'll be back with a new save in the coming days (unsure what that is yet) - I'll have a few days off FM first. At least we won the treble and completed one of the goals of the saves. Would like to thank everyone thats liked, read, commented or messaged me about this. It means more than you realise. See you all soon, and again. Thank you.
