During the regular season, when applying for a job, you'll be invited to the interview quite quickly. When applying after the season, during the summer break, you're forced to wait for an interview for a month or even longer. This means that you'll be able to start your job in July, which means you'll miss the beginning of the summer transfer window and lose a lot of downtime that you could've used for signing staff and so on.
