Stuniverse
Saturday 25th January 2025 Hebburn Town v Belper Town Northern Premier League Division 1 East Green Energy Sports Ground, Hebburn - attendance 224 (5 away) -- Another disappointing game and, worryingly, this is starting to become a habit. For the second game running, we conceded an early goal after Nathan Waterston conceded a needless penalty. We created more than enough chances to get something out of the game but only managed to test the goalkeeper once. Hebburn's second goal, on 58 minutes, knocked the stuffing out of us. warlock
Tough month! I always seem to get one of those months, usually February or March. Might be worth a look at the tactics, especially having both wingers on attack, and especially if Waterston is often getting caught out of position. I'm sure you'll figure it out and get back to winning ways

Yes, it was, @warlock On 29/03/2023 at 13:29, warlock said: Might be worth a look at the tactics, especially having both wingers on attack, and especially if Waterston is often getting caught out of position. Well there are a few things I've changed recently. Mentality, I started the season with Balanced, changed it to Attacking, and very recently went back to Balanced again. I've also changed to Lower Defensive Line from Standard Defensive Line. As well as changing to Mid Block from Low Block. -- There's also been some changes in personnel, but only one was forced, the rest were an attempt to improve the squad quality. Joe Thomas (6.55 from 2 apps) came in as #1 goalkeeper after Sam Waller left for Wroxham. Our full-backs were struggling for form so I signed Odin Samuels-Smith (DR - 6.89 from 10 apps) and Louis Hall (DL - 6.84 from 7 apps). Aaron Kuhl (6.46 from 9 apps, 1 goal, 0 assists) was signed to be our playmaker and set-piece specialist in central midfield but he's struggled to find any form. It's also resulted in me chopping and changing Tom Bell, Farren Simons and Leigh Whelan as I've tried different pairings in central midfield. And it's a similar story up front where Danilo Orsi-Dadomo (6.90 from 3 apps, 0 goals, 2 assists) has struggled to settle, after an impressive debut, which has disrupted D'Andre Wainwright, Zack Clarke and Dajaune Brown. But, unlike in central midfield, my three main strikers had lost their shooting boots, which is why I went for Danilo in the first place.

Stuniverse
Saturday 1st February 2025 Preview: Brighouse Town (home) Northern Premier League Division 1 East Louis Hall returns in place of Riley Moloney at left-back. Stuniverse
Saturday 1st February 2025 Belper Town v Brighouse Town Northern Premier League Division 1 East Raygar Stadium, Belper - attendance 239 (18 away) -- This was almost a perfect game for us. We were 3-0 up after 18 minutes through two goals from Dajaune Brown, either side of a Sonny Best header. And it could have been 5-0 by half-time as Aaran Kuhl rattled the cross bar from 30 yards and Danilo Orsi-Dadomo hit the post. In the second-half we added three more with Dajaune Brown completing his hat-trick, Danilo Orsi-Dadomo scoring his first goal for Belper Town, and Aaron Kuhl curling a free-kick into the top corner. In goal, Joe Thomas didn't have a single shot to save. Every one of our players were superb today. I'm so proud of them.

Stuniverse
Saturday 8th February 2025 Preview: Shepshed Dynamo (Home) Northern Premier League Division 1 East We have good news on the injury front. New signing Filozofe Mabete is back in training and so, hopefully, will be able to make his Belper Town debut soon. Today's game is too soon for Filozofe though. We're also expecting Lewis Farmer back in training at some point this month after he broke his leg back in September. After the 6-0 demolition of Brighouse Town last weekend, we're not making any changes at all for the visit of Shepshed Dynamo. Stuniverse
Saturday 8th February 2025 Belper Town v Shepshed Dynamo Northern Premier League Division 1 East Raygar Stadium, Belper - attendance 219 (13 away) -- We were absolutely sensational in the first-half and blew Shepshed Dynamo away. Danilo Orsi-Dadomo scored a brace, Aaron Kuhl tucked away a penalty, and Danilo Orsi-Dadomo scored two more goals giving him four goals by the break. In the second-half we couldn't hit the same heights. Joe Thomas produced three or four stunning saves to preserve the clean sheet. Unfortunately, the clean sheet went with a late consolation goal for Shepshed.

Stuniverse
Saturday 15th February 2025 Preview: Emley AFC (away) Northern Premier League Division 1 East We travel to bottom club Emley AFC but we won't be taking them lightly. They are showing signs of recovery after only picking up two points from their first 12 Northern Premier League Division 1 East fixtures. After two convincing home wins - 6-0 v Brighouse Town and 5-1 against Shepshed Dynamo - I'd be looking to go unchanged but, with Charlie Rutt signing for Kings Langley, I'm forced into a change in central defence where Bolton Makwedza comes in and Jack Armstrong goes onto the bench as Filozofe Mabete is close, but not quite fit enough to make his Belper Town debut after a hip injury. Everything else is unchanged.
Stuniverse
Saturday 15th February 2025 Emley AFC v Belper Town Northern Premier League Division 1 East Fantastic Media Welfare Ground, Emley - attendance 141 (16 away) -- As far as away games go, this was probably as comfortable as they get. We lost Sonny Best early to a hamstring injury. We think it's only tightness so he should be ok for our home game against Eccleshill United next weekend. We had to wait until the second half for our goals. Nathan Waterston gave us a 48th minute lead with a looping header that bounced down and in off the underside of the crossbar. Danilo Orsi-Dadomo scored our second on 66 minutes. I'm delighted with the performance that saw us restrict the home team to just three attempts on goal and Joe Thomas only had one save to make. Former Belper Town player Craig Nelthorpe (before my time here, although as a fan I have seen him play for The Nailers), received a second yellow card very late on but that didn’t really impact the game as we were already 2-0 up by then. Stuniverse
Saturday 22nd February 2025 Preview: Eccleshill United (Home) Northern Premier League Division 1 East It was fantastic to see Lewis Farmer back in training after recovering from his broken leg. But Lewis isn't ready to play competitively yet and we won't be rushing him back. The way I look at it, we haven't given up on winning the league and gaining automatic promotion, but Matlock Town have an eight point lead and do not look like dropping points, so we only have a slim chance of automatic promotion, if that. Realistically, we are looking playoffs and if we can have a fully fit Lewis Farmer ready in-time for the playoffs that will be a massive bonus, like a new signing. After three straight wins, there's no changes to the starting 11 but I've made two changes to the bench. Filozofe Mabete replaces Jack Armstrong after recovering from a hip injury and will make his Belper Town debut if he gets on the pitch. I had a good chat with Kieran Smith in the week about his playing time and he's on the bench instead of Joel Vincent.
Stuniverse
Saturday 22nd February 2025 Belper Town v Eccleshill United Northern Premier League Division 1 East Raygar Stadium, Belper - attendance 220 (4 away) -- A comfortable 2-0 home win over Eccleshill United makes it four wins on the spin now. Danilo Orsi-Dadomo gave us a 31st minute lead with a sensational shot from long range that beat the goalkeeper all ends up and went in off the underside of the crossbar. D'Andre Wainwright doubled our lead on 68 minutes. Eccleshill United played the last half hour with 10 men after Pelling was shown a red card and our visitors didn't get a single shot on target all game. And Matlock Town lost 1-0 to a Stocksbridge Park Steels team who are in the relegation zone. Dare to dream, Nailers fans, dare to dream!
Stuniverse
In real-life Belper Town are relegated (04/04/2023) I watched Belper Town lose 0-1 to Marske United last night meaning after promotion last season (2021-22) they have made an immediate return this season (2022-23) and will play in Tier 8 next season. On this save, Belper Town (before I arrived) finished 17th, seven points above the relegation zone in 2022-23, then finished bottom (also before I arrived) in 2023-24 ,18 points adrift of safety to get relegated to the Northern Premier League Division 1 East (Tier 8), the division Belper Town will be playing in next season in real-life. I tend to play with two strikers and one on the bench. Since the signing of Danilo Orsi-Dadomo, on loan Zack Clarke has been the unfortunate one to miss out. Zack is back on the bench today though following the departure of Dajaune Brown, with D'Andre Wainwright starting alongside Danilo. Stuniverse
Saturday 1st March 2023 Liversedge v Belper Town Northern Premier League Division 1 East Clayborn Ground, Cleckheaton - attendance 282 (14 away) -- This was a very disappointing defeat, to lose a game that we were comfortable in is very disappointing indeed. But Liversedge are 7th, they may have moved up now, and we knew they were a very good team. We took the lead after 38 minutes through D'Andre Wainwright and had chances to add to our lead, but couldn't take them. Liversedge equalised on 62 minutes and then had a player sent off, a straight red, for a horrendous two-footed challenge from behind on Nathan Waterston on 86 minutes. But, even with a man-down, Liversedge counter-attacked quickly on the 88th minute, Josh Thomas saved Dieseruvwe's shot, but he could only parry it back out and Dieseruvwe scored the rebound. We went more Attacking after that... but time ran out on us. Edited April 5, 2023 by Stuniverse

But the team showed great spirit and Danilo Orsi-Dadomo equalised after 18 minutes. In the secod-half, Aaron Kuhl's free-kick hit the post, and Steven Johnson-Fikula reacted quickest in a crowded six-yard box to give us a 71st minute lead. We only managed two attempts on target and Consett only had one. Fortunately, we were more clinical with Nathan Waterston and Danilo Orsi-Dadomo scoring for us and Joe Thomas saving their effort. The win puts us 10 points ahead of Consett and Shildon now with five games to play. The gap between us and leaders Matlock Town remains six points and, whilst we want to win all our remaining games, that gap may be too much to claw back. We started slowly and Sweeting scored a stunning goal in the first minute. Sweeting then scored an even better goal on 19 minutes. To be honest, we couldn't cope with Sweeting who was the best player on the pitch. I don't often make changes at half-time but I made two. Zack Clarke pulled a goal back on 61 minutes. Stuniverse
Saturday 12th April 2025 Preview: Lincoln United (away) Northern Premier League Division 1 East We haven't given up on catching Matlock Town but we now have no room for error. We will need to win all three of our remaining fixtures to stand any chance of overtaking Matlock Town and, even then, we'd need them to lose two of their remaining fixtures which is highly unlikely as they've only lost two league games all season. After our 5-0 victory over North Shields last time out we'll be unchanged for this one.
Stuniverse
Saturday 12th April 2025 Lincoln United v Belper Town Northern Premier League Division 1 East Ashby Avenue, Lincoln - attendance 169 (23 away) -- We started slow and for the first 10 minutes or so our penalty area was like the Alamo as Lincoln United threw everything at us. But we defended resolutely and weathered the storm. An amazing pass from Farren Simons put Zack Clarke away to give us a 34th minute lead. Three minutes later, Aaron Kuhl curled a free-kick over the wall, it hit the inside of the post and went in for 2-0. 17 seconds after the restart, Danilo Orsi-Dadomo made it 3-0 and that was the game. Zack Clarke scored a second goal to round off a superb 4-0 away win late on. The only disappointment was that we lost Tom Bell for a couple of weeks, at least, with a gashed leg. Incredibly, Matlock Town lost 1-2 at home to Tadcaster Albion so our slim hopes of clinching the league title and automatic promotion remain alive. Stuniverse
Thanks, @warlock 31 minutes ago, warlock said: Never say never Let's hope Matlock crumble under the pressure. Looks like the tactical tweaks have worked wonders. Playoffs still the likely outcome and you might have to avenge that loss to Shildon That would be nice but, realistically, I agree Playoffs look most likely. Matlock only have to win one of their two remaining matches and they take the crown and the automatic spot. We have to win both remaining games to stand any chance (although there is a scenario if we win one and draw one, and Matlock lose both, we could still go up as Champions). Thank you for your advice. I dropped the wingers onto support, rather than attack and that seems to have helped. I did change a few other things but, whilst we aren’t creating quite as many chances, we are looking more solid defensively. The new signings have also settled in now which has made a difference. 31 minutes ago, warlock said: Good luck! Thank you. Stuniverse
Saturday 19th April 2025 Preview: Sunderland Ryhope CA (away) Northern Premier League Division 1 East It's simple for us today. We have to win at Sunderland Ryhope CA [Community Association] and hope Matlock Town slip-up away to Liversedge. Stuniverse
Saturday 19th April 2025 Sunderland Ryhope CA v Belper Town Northern Premier League Division 1 East Sunderland LGV Park, Sunderland - attendance 124 (6 away) -- We weren't at our best today, but take nothing away from Sunderland Ryhope Community Association, they played very well, worked harder than us, and probably just about deserved their win. What makes the loss more frustrating for us is we took the lead through Zack Clarke after 18 minutes, but didn't handle the match very well after that. I'm not sure if it was nerves... or something else... but we'll have to play much better than that in the playoffs. Sunderland equalised on 18 minutes and then rattled the crossbar twice. After the break, Zack Clarke and Danilo Orsi-Dadomo both had great chances but blasted the ball over the bar. We knew we had to win, to stand any chance of catching Matlock, so we made some changes and went more attacking. The game became stretched, end-to-end, and either team could've grabbed the lead. Unfortunately, it wasn't us. Filozofe Mabete clumsily conceded a penalty and Sunderland converted it for a 2-1 win.
