Most teams 2 CDM's?

So. ive noticed most teams are playing with 2 CDM's. Was there a change to the game I'm unaware of? id appreciate any explanation. Might have to try it for myself, finding it particularly difficult at times im fm23

It depends on the formation. It's a more realistic representation of the actual real life versions.

so a generic 4231 in real life, the two are represented as two CDM's in fm now yeah ? ive been playing a 4231 just as i did in previous versions of the game.

AI managers was one of the very few major updates to this years game. Why are most playing the same formation?

What formation , 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 ? Have you watched the world cup where most teams played those formation or a variaton of it ( 4-1-4-1 or 4-4-1-1 )

I like the default 4-2-3-1 formation switch to two DMs, but I still see far too many players in FM who are natural at MC but have zero familiarity with the DM spot. There should be very few, if any, midfielders who can play MC but not DM. I have three such players in my first team, and they aren't natural AMCs or wingers either. They're just MCs who can't play anywhere else.
