February 2027 - Pre-Season

Still over a month remaining in the transfer window but lets take a look at who we've signed by the end of pre-season.

A further six players join for a combined £685k, all from within Georgia and Georgian nationality.

17 year old Guja Metreveli joined first from Lokomotivili Tbilisi for £75k, he played 32 times for the Lokomotivili first team last season as they were promoted back to the Georgian National League. He will be given some game time in the league and cup this season. I then signed another youngster from another Tbilisi side, Dinamo. Giorgi Pilia was on my radar but they wanted far too much previously and we didn't have the money anyway. He joins for £250k and is primarily suited to AMC but he will operate in the MCa slot for us. We then signed experience centre back Nika Chanturia on a free transfer after his release from Sioni, he will rotate in on occasion.

Tsotne Nadaraia also joined from Sioni for £45k rising to £54k, the 30 year old left back will rotate with our other left back in the squad. We then opted to sign Davit Kiknadze from Saburtalo for £215k rising to £325k. The younger centre back will be first choice alongside Manjate in the heart of our defence. Last to join at the moment was Giorgi Arabidze for £100k from rivals Torpedo Kutaisi, he's our new option for up front, he will allow for some more rotation in attacking areas.

So we've signed three centre backs, a left back, a central midfielder and a striker. We still have two foreign player spots available to fill if the right player becomes available.

An easy selection of opponents for pre-season culminating in a 5-1 thrashing of Dinamo Batumi in the Georgian Super Cup. Our new stadium getting its first competitive match and selling out immediately.

Five games and five wins. We're now on a 14 game winning streak in the league.

We started at home and attracted 3545 for our first league game in the new stadium, they witnessed a reserved 2-0 win. We picked up the mantle away at Lokomotivili, Musikiri with his second double of the season and Martinez ended a 10 hour barren spell in front of goal. Three more home games within a week, first, Dinamo Tbslisi dispatched 5-1 with another Musikiri brace. We rotated for Saburtalo although they were 2nd in the league at the time. Arabidze starting his first game and got his first goal for the club. Back to full strength for Dinamo Batumi, 3-0 winners, comfortable in the end, Martinez's double sealing the game late on.

Five points clear already, only unbeaten side in the league.

We spent big, in relative terms in the summer but we still have a very healthy balance.

Awesome, finally a new stadion. And it is filling nicely, as well. 5000 for a friendly sounds great.

Thanks @Mr Jabay a full capacity for a friendly was unexpected but tickets must have been cheap. Look like we'll settled around 3500 per home game this season in the league. Although we had four home games from five this month, gate receipts have increased tremendously, as to has the corporate and match day income.

March 2027 - Poached

d37049c091dd11942dcf9a067b3fbd3c.png

The games may be over for the month but the poaching isn't. A second poaching by Sioni this month alone. As you can see here, Sioni have the same repuation as us at the moment. I fully expect to be at the top in the next season or two and domestic poachings could cease and once players coming into our youth ranks become better we could see clubs from Europe begin poaching. Thats the aim anyway.

Just caught up with the lastest update.

Although I don't like the Civil Year football calendar, it's been very interesting to see the club's growth in the future.

Keep it up :)

Thanks @dsousa96

Yeah i'm not keen on a season being within a calendar year especially as European games will spread across two seasons. Domestically its began to feel a little dominant but thats expected as we look to improve in Europe moreso.

A sea of green. Four away matches on the bounce instead this month.

A nervy 1-0 win over Samgurali which should have been more, we restricted them to no shots on target which was nice. A fully rotated outfield 10 for the cup game against Salkhino, an easy 3-0 win. We travelled back to Martvili days later full strength and won 4-0, the front three all getting in on the action. A small break in proceedings allowed us to rest and then demolish Sioni 4-1. A week later and back at home, 3200 turn up to see us coast past Dila, 2-0.

Nine games in and nine wins, we're 11 points clear already which seems utterly bizarre already.

May 2027 - Jorge Manjate

The dreaded wanted sign has appeared on star defender Jorge Manjate. He's been brilliant since joining at the beginning of 2026 for just £26k from Mozambican side Ferroviario de Lichinga.

The clubs interested....

PSG  Porto :(

Ideally I would want him to join a lesser side in Germany or Portugal then he moves onto a much bigger club if possible.

The green continues to flow, we're not really being trouble too much.

We opened the month with a big win over Lokomitivi, Martinez notching a 2nd half hattrick. We were slightly troubles against Torpedo, although Kutsia's 84th minute goal was to make it 3-1. Martvilli were pummelled, Arabidze coming into the fray with two goals. We rotated all but the twin Paraguayan's for the cup game against Hereti Lagodekhi, Ortiz struck four goals. Back to full strength against Dinamo Tbilisi, our right back Nikoloz Mali who we signed from our oppostion came back to haunt them by assisting all three goals. We closed the month out against Saburtalo, a cagey 1-0 win where we had a goal disallowed but had restricted them to just four shots on goal in the game.

We edge further clear to a 14 point gap. Nice to see Dinamo Tblisi are resurgant this season.

A quieter month but with added colour.

Comfortable 2-0 home win over Samgurali. Then disaster, a 0-0 draw with Dinamo Batumi, we even had a goal disallowed. Full rotation in the cup against Spaeri, we welcomed back Musikiri from injury and he delivered the winner in the second half. Back to full strength against Sioni including Musikiri, 4-1 hammering.

Still 14 points clear due to drawing with 2nd place.

One player left this month, Thibaut Aubertin was complaining about game time, his deal was due to end in December, he form was patchy and Mali had overtaken him to first choice RB. Casa Sports offered £24k and I decided to take it.

A really busy month with Champions League qualifying added in.

In the league we were back to five wins on the bounce, although the wins weren't as forthcoming as I would have liked due to the rotational needed for the European games until we smashed Martvili at the end of the month, Davitashvili netting a hattrick.

In the Champions League we played away against Buducnost first and felt a draw would have been an ideal result. We fell behind as early as the 2nd minute but then found ourselves 3-1 up at half-time, a late consolation goal them made things nervy. In the reverse fixture, just under a capacity crowd witnessed a twin Paraguayan dsiaply where Ortiz netted a hattrick, we went through 7-4 on aggregate. We already knew our 2nd Round opponents Rakow, a much better side on paper. At home first, Rakow took the lead in the 54th minute only for us to equalise just two minutes later through Ortiz, a late sending off for Rakow but we couldn't capitalise. Away in Poland, we actually took the lead through Pilia but a more dominant display from our Polish counterparts saw them over the line with a 2-1 win on the day and a 3-2 aggregate scoreline.

We drop down into the Europa League 3rd Qualifying Round where we will face Swedish side Malmo.

Still unbeaten and now a huge 23 points clear of second placed Dinamo Batumi.

14d125e460f9737173c4b51a5a2d5e6a.png

Another really busy month.

We got it under way in Sweden against Malmo, Martinez rescued a draw and a crucial away goal to take home. It was the other Paraguayan that put Malmo to the sword at home as Ortiz scored twice to send us into the Europa League Play-off against Bosnia's Zrinjski. Either side of that result we scored three goals in each game against Saburtalo and Batumi.

At home first in the Play-Off against Zrinjski and a 2-1 win. We then rotated against Samgurali and lost our first league game in 33 matches but they were 2nd and we had our second string out. We returned to full strength in Bosnia and scored early, cancelling out their away goal. They hit back twice to send the game into extra time and thats where the rotation came in, we scored twice in extra time to win the tie 3-2 on the night and 5-3 overall to advance to the group stages of the Europa League.

c2e59506d9d28cb8f9109b1ac2146228.png

At most I think six points could be achieved.

We then lost, again, in the league, this time to Sioni who were 9th. New items flashing up that I would be facing an inquest into that loss.  Not that we're 20+ points ahead and into the Europa League Group Stage. We ended the month with a big win voer Liakhvi in the cup, Davitashvili scoring four.

September 2027 - Major Sale

43cfc122973bdacf48550e72d089e49b.png

A player I didn't want to sell but had pre-emptively signed Biloshevskyi earlier in the season to ease the blow of the inevitable. An initial £1.8m plus £650k after 1 International Appearance, which will happen soon because he already has five Mozambique caps. We've loaned him back until the end of the season which softens the blow further and we have a friendly to arrange and will get 30% of any profit from the next sale. He immediately becomes worth £31m to £47m.

His former club Ferraviario de Lichinga get 10% of the profit as part of the deal that brought him to our club.

September 2027

4bbd3fb83eb15cfa85ed33bbee69b82a.png

This month took ages to play, largely down to the fact I did a lot of manual scouting around Africa to try and find the next Manjate.

An Ortiz double sunk Dila at the start of the month before we played our first group stage fixture in the Europa League. We travelled to Turkey to face Basaksehir, a short-ish journey saw our 76 travelling fans witness a poor display and a 2-0 loss to boot. A rotated side beat Lokomotivi 3-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Davitashvili. A full strength side faced Saburtalo in the cup Quarter Final and won comfortably enough.

A shock 2-1 loss to lowly Torpedo made it three losses so far this season, Musikiri's goal a mere consolation. We then travelled to Austria to face Sturm Graz, Ortiz got us off to a flyer in the 6th minute and Pilia added a second before half time. We had more chances in the second half to add to our goal tally but failed to do so. Georgian national Zivzivadze netted a 91st minute consolation. Delighted to pick up three points for the 16 travelling fans.

23d072691cef0b884d50432aac21ccd2.png

We were actually crowned Champions without kicking a ball before the Torpedo game, maybe that impacted the result. Seven games remain.

21st after two games. We face Tottenham next, who are two from two.

The win over Sturm Graz basically paid for the Training Facility improvements.

2-2 in the first fixture of the month against Dinamo was disappoing but we had rotated slightly with Tsulaia bagging a brace. An international break was welcomed, gave us time to rest up for the rest of the month. Martvili sent packing after a 3-0 win followed by a slender 1-0 loss to Spurs at home....hang on wait a minute...8548 attendance?! We actually played this game in Tblisi at Dinamo's stadium, anyway £180k in the bank in gate receipts.

A boring 1-0 win over second placed Samgurali followed by a nervy 2-1 win over Lokomotivi in the Cup, we're through to a second successive final to face Dinamo. We end the month on a sour note, losing to Saburtalo, a real FM-ing. 18 shots to their 4 with just one of those on target resulting in the only goal of the game.

A unsurprising loss away to Valencia started the month before a 1-1 draw against Batumi days later. International break followed, giving us time to rest before we faced Sioni who were scrapping for their lives at the foot of the table. Brondby came to town for what I thought was an opportunity for three more Europa League points but we struggled and lost. We ended the month and league season on a positive note, beating Dila 2-1.

Champions by a big margin to Samgurali in 2nd place. Dinamo Tbilisi were resurgent under a new manager. Sioni relegated.

2027 Season Review

53ec44664697ca67947eaed74f92d7ae.png

Two games in December for us.

We faced Dinamo Tbilisi in the cup final at their home ground, nuetral huh? Anyway, 2-0 winners, Davitashvili with both. A 2nd Davit Kipriani's Cup for us, making it a domestic double.

We then entertained Icelandic side Breidablik at the Rustavi Stadium and it was contest over inside 10 minutes, Musikiri with a double and Ortiz with the other. We have two games remaining in the Europa League against Monaco and Dinamo, with the first of those two games 41 days away.

Onto the season review.

We won the league by 21 points which was two fewer than last season, we scored less goals too 86 in total versus 101 last season but we did however concede less, 23 this season compared to 33 last season, a very good improvement defensively. We scored double the amount of goals as 2nd placed Samgurali, who conceded the same amount as us. Scoring all these goals didn't see us have the top scorer in the league, that fell to Dinamo Tbilisi's Stanislav Bilen'kyi, who scored 32 of their 62 league goals, quite a return for the Ukrainian striker. The best we could do was 4th highest with 18 goals.

We defeated Salkhino, Hereti, Spaeri, Liakhvi, Saburtalo and Lokomotivi enroute to facing Dinamo Tbilisi in the final. We defeated them easily as seen above.

In Europe, we entered the Champions League at the 1st Qualifying Round, we defeated Buducnost 7-4 on aggregate before losing to Rakow in the 2nd Round. We dropped down to the Europa League where we beat Malmo (3-1 agg) and Zrinjski (5-3 agg) to qualify for the group stage. We've played six of the eight games so far, picking up wins over Sturm Graz and Breidablik which see's us sit in 30th place with two games remaining.

With those two games in mind, the figures for goals and assists aren't final. Gustavo Ortiz crept into the thirties again for goals with 31 this season, his attacking compatriot Diosnel Martinez notched 21 goals and made 18 assists. Sandwiched between the twin Paraguayan's is Zimbabwe interntional Luke Musikiri with 27 goals and 10 assists. He ended the season with the most league goals with 18 in 23(1) games which is a great return. Davitashvili played less games as striker which reflected in his goals, he ends the season with 17 whilst another central midfielder Giorgi Pilia also hit double figures with 11.

211b54f32d768596650f2cce2ff7f283.png

We've made good headway off the pitch, we were given £3m for appearing in the group stage of the Europa League but we also sold Jorge Manjate to PSG for £2.5m before loaning him back. We improved the Junior Coaching and also the youth facilities, whilst the training facilities are in the process of being upgraded.

Jan 2027 - Pre-Season, Europe and Transfers

303d11f51d5cd669fd17bce87b214244.png

Pre-season began with a PSG rocking up in Rustavi, with some big guns as part of the Manjate deal which included this friendly. Manjate himself opened the scoring for PSG and Dani Olmo, Liel Abada and Noah Okafor chipped in with other ones.

b2fd6d8e1b9be9bb14afa8c1d2e8ce39.png

That wasn't the greatest of preperation for the two remaining Europa League group stage games, we went to France for a hammering and got one when we returned home too.

78c66a8c6d7e6fd2bf8ef5e9a608e1fc.png

We finish in 29th ahead of Besiktas and Real Betis, I'll take that.

e9d26658c3ce975a1443ff076009b34b.png

We then got into actual pre-season, winning all the games including culminating in a glorified friendly against Samgurali in the Super Cup.

Transfers

36096ff89b84c7203b3d8ac8bf0bc79c.png

Three deals completed on the opening day of the window, which annoyingly appear in last seasons transfer history.

With Tsulaia having left I felt we needed another home-grown striker, Shukura's Levan Modebadze fitted the bill. Young, somewhat mobile with good finishing and technique, not bad for £100k. We then signed an even younger striker, 16 year old Zurab Pirtskhalaishvili from 3rd tier side Guria for £35k, he goes straight into the U19s for development. Last to join was Ivan Trajanovski who was found as a result of us broadening our scouting range to South Eastern Europe. A £500k signing from Macedonian side Vardar as replacement for the now departed Manjate, the 20 year old Ball Playing defender had promted me to switch defensive duties to such for both of our CB's, time will tell if its a good call.

09271e0155f5bc52ddf58fdee41dc597.png

In February we were then alerted to the chance of signing another Zimbabwean player in Prince Ndlovu who had been released/not renewed his contract at Highlanders in his homeland. Primarily suited to a wide position, he will play in CMa. We then signed a new back up GK. WIT-Georgia had just been promoted to the top tier of Georgian football but that didn't stop them from cashing in on Ioseb Kurtanidze, young at 20 and on a back up contract he will get his chances in the cups for a start.

Like last season we get off to a flier in the league; five games and five wins.

A tough opening fixture on paper against Dinamo Tbilisi, it was anything but, Ortiz with a double. Martinez went one better by netting the first competitive hattrick of the season as we smashed what could be consider our bogey side of sorts in Torpedo, 6-1 the final score. Davitashvili made it four goals in three games with a double against Telavi. The first home game of the season was against Dinamo Batumi and despite conceding twice we came out winners with four goals of our own. Rotation against Samguarli with Musikiri and Modebadze getting a double each, with the latter winning the leagues player of the week.

Invincible season ahead?

Depends on how we fair in Europe and our scheduling. We're already at the point of the save where the league is a formality I think so Europe takes priority to make more money. But I don't see why we couldn't do it this season.

Annoyingly the month started with a draw at home to Saburtalo. We then thrashed Sapekhburtalo in the cup, Musikiri, Martinez and Ortiz all bagging hattricks. The twin Paraguayans then saw off Lokomotivi and Dila before Musikiri netted his 2nd hattrick of the season, this time against WIT-Georgia, earning a new contract in the process. A single goal was all that was needed against Telavi before Ortiz netted another hattrick to see off Lokomotivi for the second time this month in the league.

A quiet month with just three games but its three wins.

Five different scorers against Dila earn us a comfortable three points, disappointing to concede twice. With Ortiz away on international duty, in comes Modebadze who scores twice against Torpedo. We end the month with a cup win over Gldani.

A really busy month due to entering Champions League qualifying.

An easy win over WIT-Georgia was followed by an even easier win over Linfield away in Northern Ireland, tie over. We rotated against Telavi and came unstuck, poor performance and result to match, an unbeaten season over. A near capacity crowd saw us beat Linfield 2-1 and ease into the 2nd qualifying round to Slovan Bratislava. First Lokokmotivi were demolished, appeasing the fans for that loss in the league game before no doubt. Another good crowd witnessed a comfortable 2-0 home win against the Slovak side in the first leg and it was more comfortable away from home, Martinez with a brace. Sandwiched in between was a 5-2 hammering of Dinamo Tbilisi. We ended the month with Luke Musikiri nothcing twice to defeat a struggling Dinamo Batumi.

We opened the month against Partizan with a 2-1 loss but we managed to turn it around beating them 3-0 at home. Sandwiched in between was a big defeat to Samgurali, the flaws of rotation. We beat Saburtalo 2-1 before a tough fixture against Celtic in the play-offs for the Champions League. A 3-2 loss but we gave some fight, rotation again cost us in the league but its a small price to pay to try and hit the big time. Away in Scotland we were punished, 4-1 loss in front of a crowd of 57k. Musikiri smashed in four goals to see of Dila 4-1, in the process he became the clubs all-time leading league goalscorer. We ended the month in the cup against Dinamo, we were without 12 players due to international call-ups, one suspended and one injured. They weren't hardly affected, anyway, with a defender up front we smashed them 5-2.

15 points clear at the top.

We drop in the Europa League group stages, a strong set of fxitures, possible points against Hajduk, Limassol and maybe Lorient.

Very comfortable in the league with three wins from three games but all three were bottom half sides. A close game in the cup where we needed extra time to beat Samgurali. It was 1-1 going into to ET before Ortiz put us ahead, only to be pegged back just minutes later. Luke Musikiri scored the winning goal in the 113th minute to send us through.

In Europe we had two games against strong opposition, Feyenoord at home and Fiorentina away, no points collected and we move on. We're currently 33rd of 36.

19 points clear now with 7 games remaining, we can win the title if we win our next game I think.

We missed the chance to win the league by drawing with Dinamo but we managed it just a game later, defeating Batumi comfortably. In the Europa League we picked up our first point of the league campaign with a draw against Hajduk. A disappointing 1-1 draw against Samgaruli in the league, two more dropped more than one point gained. Just 180 fans, a capacity crowd for Varketili witnessed a 3-1 win in the semi-finals of the cup. One goal was enough to see us get another three points against Topedo.

22 points clear with three to play. 23 points is our current biggest margin for winning the league. We're also up to 28th in the EL league.

2028 Season Review

20 points clear of 2nd place which is disappointing, we had a chance to achieve a record margin but failed when drew against Saburtalo. 97 goals scored is our second highest total behind the 2026 season.

We beat Telavi in the Davit Kipiani's Cup Final for our third cup win in a row.

We're currently in 27th place after six games in the Europa League league. We just defeated Lorient 2-1 for our first win in the competition this season. We play Bayer Leverkusen (26th) and Dynamo Kyiv (30th) in January.

Ortiz topped scored again this season with 35 goals in 44 appearances which has attracted interest from MLS side St Louis. His Paraguayan compatriot scored 28 goals but also managed a team high 23 assists. Musikiri (23), Modebadze (19) and Davitashivili (18) all hit double figures for goals whilst Ortiz (18), Ndlovu (15), Pilia (14) and Modebadze (11) all hit double figures for assists.

Academy graduate Tkemaladze moves into 5th for apperances, all change in the goals with Ortiz one shy of 100 and Martinez continues to be an assist machine up front.

We make big money from Europe once again, £4.7m from the Champions League which I think some is carry over from last season and we also make £4m from the Europa League. We spend £2.7m of that to upgrade the training and youth facilities which are due to be completed prior to the new season starting.

I've done a lot of scouting both manually and through the recruitment focus tool, its ended in us signing four new players for the 2029 season.

  • Malkhaz Gvelesiani, CB from Dinamo Tbilisi - at 19 years old he comes in as 3rd choice CB.
  • Beka Zarnadze, DM from Saburtalo - we needed another body at DM, £325k seems a little steep considering but he will get game time.
  • Wassiou Diallo, LB from OC Agaza in Togo - decent, cheap full backs are a rarity it seems, adds depth but will be replaced when I can find/afford the player I need.
  • Moses Jarju, DM from Fortune FC in Gambia - a cheap DM that can also play CB. again another player who can be upgraded as soon as next season.

We've also managed to secure the signatures of two prospects when they have turned 18. Mohamed Abouarram will join for a modest fee of £75k from Egyptian third tier side Nogoom and Abdoul Kader Diomande will join from Senegalese academy side Aspire for no outlay.

2029 Season Review

This felt a long season but I guess thats due to the lack of updates monthly.

30bef562397de967904924dc5ffad084.png

We made it five league wins in a row, a formality if anything now. Although it wasn't all plain sailing as we lost four times incuding home and away to Sioni. We managed to score exactly 100 goals in the league, reaching the magical three-figures for a second time. Conceding 29 was a league low but must be approved upon.

We made it a league and cup double by winning the Davit Kipriani's final against Samgurali, 3-0. We beat Gvardia, Sulori, Mertskhali, Martvili, Alazani and Torpedo on route to the final. We have now won the competition four times in a row.

In Europe we made in to the Europa League group stage again. We entered the Champions League initially, beating BATE and Ferencvaros in the early rounds before losing to Celtic in the 3rd Qualifying Round. We then faced Ferencvaros again in the Europa League play-off and we beat them comfortably for a second time. In the group stage so far we've beaten Dunajska Streda, Charleroi and Buducnost whilst losing to Fenerbahce, Hertha Berlin and Braga. We sit in 17th place with games against Chelsea and Ludogorets left to play.

Gustavo Ortiz once again was the top scorer this time with 46, his Paraguayan partner Martinez struggled with just 14 goals. Levan Modebadze was the next best scorer with 34 whilst Luke Musikiri managed 29. Eight players hit double figures for assists with Modebadze making 20, a team high.

Off the pitch both the training and youth facilities were upgraded as was the youth recruitment. Our average attendance increased whilst the finances also increased despite the outlay on the facilities.
