Welsh Tier 10 - Restructure pyramid based on real life

Recommended Posts

Like in 2019 , i had created wales league system (  see wales 19 ) . I decided to do again this database like irl but this time in add some fantasy so that all divisions of the current pyramid can go down until the to tenth level . With by example add a sixth division to the Pembroke or put old division that are not longer played .

If people have ideas for completed the pyramid i'm interested .
To complete these leagues, I will revive old clubs and add a reserve team to each team .
It is also possible that I decide to rank all the teams in order of reputation (while leaving them in the right regions). But for that my choice is not made yet.

Here is what i will edit as close as to reality as possible :
- Real city/ village / community for any club
- Every team will have a stadium ( i use footballground map for these information but i don't know if this site is well updaded )
- Every team will have home kit at least . If i don't found , i use the colours of the team logo
- I add attendance and price ticket for all team that do not have one , again one time , i try to enter data conforms to reality

Maybe more thereafter

This update will not be available before end april / may , for the simple reason that a long work but more importantly, that way I will have all the right dates for the leagues and cups .

Any help would be very appreciated particularly with regards to cups .

Important detail , i am not english so thank yo for you indulgence if some sentences are badly worded .

Missing clubs will reappear provided they are not rebuilt under a different name.  For exemple Neath will be here but not Rhyl or Bangor

  • ChicoPolska changed the title to Welsh Tier 10 - Structure IRL + add old league to ensure that all regions have 10 levels

I finally agreed with myself :seagull: for setting up the league system .

Tier 1 : Cymru Premier
Tier 2 : Cymru North and South
Tier 3-5 : Ardal South- North - Mid Central
Tier 6 - 10 : 22 counties will be their leagues

If anyone has better ideas on how to integrate all counties , I would be delighted to hear them.
Otherwise I'll leave it as it is, which I think is fine.

The best resource available to you is the Cymru Football app, which has the match data from all levels of the Welsh league system. It is a free app available for iOS (App Store link) and Android (Play Store link). This will be particularly useful in adding the data for the kit colours - if they are available.

You are welcome to use my stadium co-ordinates Excel spreadsheet that I created a couple of seasons ago, and have tried to keep as up-to-date as possible. I used the data from Football Ground Map, as well the Cymru Football app to accomplish this. There is a column for the counties/principle areas too, for when you get into the lower tiers.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the application , that's a excellent thing but unfortunately, it's not very convenient, because I have to switch constantly from the phone to the computer.
Just for the 12 teams of the first league, it took me half an hour. But it helps me a lot .

I have one questions  :  What's the problem with Cardiff Eagle who loses all his games on big scores ?

  • ChicoPolska changed the title to Welsh Tier 10 - Restructure pyramid based on real life

I decided to further improve (in my opinion) the pyramid system :

Tier 1 :           Premier League
Tier 2 :           Cymru North and South
Tier 3 - 5 :      Ardal North-East / North-West / South-East / South-West / Mid Central
Tier 6 - 9 :      Preserved Counties ( No they won't have the name there in the game :D ) Gwent / South Glamorgan / Mid Glamorgan / West Glamorgan / Dyfed / Powys / Gwynedd / Clwyd
Tier 10 - 14 : Area Principal ( This will not be the name used either ) Blaenau Gwent / Bridgeng / Caerphilly / Cardiff / Carmentenshire / Ceredigion / Conwy / Denbighshire / Flintshire / Gwynedd / Anglesey / Merthyr Tydil /
Monmouthshire / Neath Port Talbot / Newport / Pembrokeshire / Powys / Rhondda Cynon Taff / Swansea / Torfaen / Vale Glamorgan / Wrexham

Not all leagues will go to the bottom of the pyramid , For example, the teams in the south west are few in number

This does look good. I prefer the historical counties to modern admin nightmares.  I just abandoned a lower league Welsh save when my SW club, Glencormac got reorganised from Pembrokshire into a division in Gwent. I hope you can prevent that sort of thing.

Yes, I could, because these two areas/county are opposite each other.
I'll try to find the geographical boundaries of all the leagues, I've already tried but haven't found anything yet.
But I will add the regional divisions, which should keep the teams in the right divisions.

Update done .
No problem to test it in the editor, I will test it this weekend in the game.
I modified the national cup by taking example on the FA Cup of 06/07 with 14 rounds
I also intend to modify the competition premiums for the national cup and the league cup, but nothing extravagant, it will remain very close to reality.

Hello, Thank you for making a deep welsh league system. I was wondering if you will update this for the latest update? As it is not a straight forward update on editor due to make leagues promotion playoff.

There's a few like that, though the Welsh tier system can be a bit confusing. My current save (using normal database)has put Haverfordwest in Cymru North when it can't be anymore Cymru South 🤦‍♂️

Why is Ynyshir Albions in tier 10 when they're Cymru South irl

Although I have classified the teams by reputation, Ynyshir should not be in this di.vision but in the second level.

I will recitify this when I update the file with the last SI update

My file is tested with the winter patch. Maybe this is the reason.
But the gps coordinates for Haverfordwest and Cymru are set by SI so there is nothing I can do about it.
But normally it should never have happened.
I think it's a bug related to the wrong selection of the database.
