New European competitions format and January transfer window

So, an annoying problem I just ran into: With the new format for the European club competitions there are matches in January, but as far as I know you can't register new signings in Europe until the end of the month. Between that, injuries and Afcon, I'll be playing my last two league stage matches with a rather depleted squad.

You will be asked to register players for Europe before the next game, regardless of when it is in the window and probably also at the end of the window.

I just played the first game of January, and I didn't get asked to register new players.

You do once the window closes, The January games use the squad you register in September, I had sold a couple of those and had no chance to replace them until the window closed
