Roccstar
Hi Marc, love the game but just wanted to give a bit of feedback. first thing is, inside forwards still don’t seem that different from the update, barely any output still. General lack of goals is below what it should be I think, see screenshot, this happens to me over and over and over again. Lastly, a little point, a manager career has a starting age of 52, that is a bit wrong, do you even need to have the age/date of birth on there?

Inside forwards - send me your save and I'll take a look at your setup and see if I can work out whats up and tune if needed, my better ones generally can get 10-20 goals a season which seems about right (I don't have a truly world class player in that position, but do have some decent options - ie. Mitomaesque). With regards to the human manager age, that shouldn't be visible and has no effect in game (apart from a single news item string) - I've set it down and the visible age on the coach profile will vanish next update ... reason for it being so high, errr I've gotten older and used my date of birth as the default for most dates in the game, sorry ... grins with embarrassment

Definitely less goals being scored in all the saves I have played so far with minimal goal input ( and assists ) from the majority of the top if’s in the game. Lots of games where only scoring one goal, very rare for two and 3+ is seen less than an hour eclipse ( for me at least ). I have always played the same tactics over the previous 4 versions of the game ( 4-2-3-1, controlling etc etc, but this year I feel the ‘tactics’ have almost as much of an unpleasant control in the game that it starts to become far too complex and less fun ( the reason I stopped playing the PC version tbf ). Just my input. Cheers
MatiasDFS
The nerf could be unbalanced but tuning down whats overpowered is part of making the game better, of course if they were really good in previous versions at the point where you dont even think of using another role the tweak will make them worse, it isnt necessarily wrong. Cant think of a wing player scoring 3 per game in any team of the world right now.

The really good inside forwards in the world should be getting 25-30 goals a season, some are more important that central strikers

Roccstar
Hi Marc, don’t have a laptop or anything to do the save. I play a 433 with the inside forwards pushed right up as high as the central striker, although out wide. When you look at teams that have these in the real world, the inside forwards are usually scoring a decent amount, 20 a seasons, but on this game it’s ridiculous. If your striker isn’t scoring on a bad run, there are just not goals, no matter what amazing stats the inside forwards have
Desmond Richardson
I think it's also worth baring in mind that more and more sides are opting to play with a back 3/5 (depending on their interpretation). Generally this creates a defensive overload against single striker formations meaning your striker will normally be less effective. There is then an expectation for the IF's to score X amount of goals, but you're asking the players in question to operate in heavily occupied areas. Against a back four you'll always have more joy if you have a striker dropping deep and the IF's exploiting the space in behind. If you are playing against a three central defenders and two defensive midfielders it's going to be extremely difficult for that IF to have the same impact as the space will be extremely limited.

In general scoring 20 goals a season is fairly rare at the top level for all but the very best players imho, for instance irl at the half-way point of the season only 5 players have 10 goals or more .. There's a couple ways of looking at the goal outputs of Wingers / Inside Forwards. It is important to point out that for Inside Forwards to be top scorers generally the play has to be based around them with the Central Striker as a more supporting role, i.e. Liverpool's Defensive Forward or Napoli's False 9. Going strictly off of the English Premier League, there's normally an amount of Inside Forwards who score the most goals for their respective team, if you look just outside the top 5 scorers, there's a breadth of such players: Then there's last season, where the two top scorers (three if you include CR7) were Inside Forwards. There should be the option for an Inside Forward to score a bunch of goals, but it really works on a team-by-team basis.
jamie_B_105
If goals are your biggest consideration for inside forwards, Why don’t you play your wingers higher and actually make them an inside “forwards”? Just like the goal scoring forwards who play in the wider areas would be… Ie Salah, CR7 at Real, Mane etc. Put them on the opposite side to their strong foot so they cut in. Team mentality to attacking. Tempo to high. Closing down to all over (due to the 3 up top). My boys seem to be ok in the wider positions….
Navv
In addition to the previous comments in here, whenever my strikers are not scoring enough to win or to feel comfortable, I would check if they are tired at some point (they will need to rest) or otherwise I would check the midfielders as they should be assisting the strikers. My point is that it is a team, and everyone needs to be nicely performing.
