Hit Early Crosses and Distribute Quickly

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Are those instructions something you normally use to define your style of play or instead you use him depending on how a match is going?

If it's the latter, are both instructions best used for example when the other team is pressing you high and with a strong attacking intent? Is early crosses also good against teams defending deep?

Thanks

They're both situational imo but yeah hitting early crosses is good against teams that sit deep. Means you get the ball in the box or in behind before they've had a chance to get into their shape.

Distribute quickly can be used in a few scenarios really. You can play possession football but still get your keeper to distribute quickly.

I think both depend, they can used to circumnavigate weaknesses in your squad or to exploit weaknesses in the opponents squad.

I would use distribute quickly if you're trying to counter attack (100% of the time), if you've got a good target forward and strong fb/wb with good crossing it's great as well. If your wing backs are great at dribbling/good athletes don't go for it (let them beat their man before they cross).

Example: If I had slow fullbacks with wonderful crossing in a counterattack tactic, hitting crosses early sounds like the dream.

Hit early crosses to a big man and feed off the knoockdowns.

Distribute quickly if team transitions fast e.g. an Attack mentality.

What if you have strikers who are both fast and good in the air? Would you use hit early crosses? What about the type of crosses, would you leave it mixed?
