Punch
FEB 2025 - FA Trophy 5th Round - At Maldon & Tiptree FC Match Report Spoiler An epic in Maldon as we had to go to penalties to decide this one. We got the early goal, one of our two shots on target, before the hosts leveled just after the hour. They probably played better late in the second half, but our defence held firm to deny them a winner. In the shootout, our boys held the nerve to slot home all four shots, while Jones came up huge, making two massive saves to break the hearts of the home fans, and send us through. Quarter Final Draw Spoiler We repeat last years performance of making the Quarter Final, which we will host this year against same tier Whitby. Up next...a massive clash in the play off chance for both teams as we travel to 7th place Gosport.
Punch
FEB 2025 - Match Day 33 - At Gosport Borough FC Match Report Spoiler So near yet so far. We had our chances to win, but a combination of their keeper having a blinder, and Gosport being one of those teams we just can't get it together against, and we come away from this one with zero. Table Spoiler THe loss, on top of other teams playing their catch up games drops us from 2nd to 4th. That was a true 6 pointer as Gosport are now only one win away from us. Up next...we host 17th place Taunton.

Punch
FEB 2025 It was a brilliant run to start the month, including advancing in the Trophy, just the blemish at the end of the month at Gosport. The Analyst is still happy with our performances. Nine games to play, looking like a tight finish for the play off spots, while Truro appear to have bolted with the title. Stats Goalkeepers Defenders Midfielders Forwards The Press linked me with the vacant Bolton job, and the Board were happy that I wasn't interested. The bank balance continues to fall. A busy month coming up, and a youth intake arriving soon.

Punch
MAR 2025 - Match Day 34 - Vs Taunton Town FC Match Report Spoiler The scoreline I hate the most, and it was a pretty uninspiring match to boot. We created very little, they created even less. This was one that got away, and of more concern, is the recent form of Docherty. He was throwing them in for fun early in the season, now appears he couldn't hit the broad side of a bus with a house brick Table Spoiler We stay 4th, our only saving grace that Totton and Gosport were both held to draws as well. Punch
MAR 2025 - Match Day 35 - At Salisbury FC Raymond Mcenhill Stadium - Salisbury Spoiler Following a conversation with @phnompenhandy, I am going to add some more pictures of the towns we visit. Also something I have seen @Stuniverse adding to his posts. Match Report Spoiler A tired performance as we struggled to get anything going. A single second half goal, for the hosts who were not at their best either, was enough to secure the points. Table Spoiler Even worse, we were the only teams playing today, due to our FA Trophy match next week, and this result leaves us vulnerable to the sides below us. Up next...we host 8th place Maidenhead. Edited February 14, 2023 by Punch
Punch
MAR 2025 - Match Day 36 - Vs Maidenhead United FC Match Report Spoiler A record crowd for a League match (non-playoff) watched a really tight battle at Footes Lane. Neither side was able to create much in the way of chances, but just before the hour mark, Docherty was hauled down in the box, with the Ref pointing straight to the spot. Tyrie made no mistake, sending the keeper the wrong way as he smashed his shot into the bottom corner, and that was enough to secure the points. Table Spoiler Totton and Gosport also won, so if they win again next weekend when we are on Trophy duty, it will be a three way tie for the last two play off spots, with 6 games to play. Up next...FA Trophy Quarter Final time as we play host to Northern Premier League Whitby Town.
Punch
MAR 2025 - FA Trophy Quarter Final - Vs Whitby Town FC Match Report Spoiler We always seemed in control, but left it late to seal the win, as we march on to the Semi Final for the first time. A goal just before the break to settle the nerves, followed by a late brace from Allen sent us on our way. Semi Final Draw Spoiler We travel to Stafford for the Semi Final tie. There are two tier 7 teams, and two National North teams left in the competition, and thats how the semi finals lined up. We are the only Southern team left in the competition, and no National League teams remain. Punch
MAR 2025 - Match Day 37 - Vs Chippenham Town FC Match Report Spoiler We dominated the match but struggled to hit the target. A single first half goal from Tyrie was enough to secure the points. Table Spoiler A loss for Totton and a win for Gosport, but we still hold 4th place. Up next...we travel to 9th place Frome. Punch
MAR 2025 - Match Day 38 - At Frome Town FC Badgers Hill - Frome Town Spoiler Match Report Spoiler Our forwards finally clicked, with a goal i each half securing the points. But it was a massive defensive effort to keep the hosts out, keeping a clean sheet as well. Table Spoiler Truro have secured the title, but with four games to play, there are now 5 teams fighting over the four play off spots. Up next...a match that could have an impact on the play off spots as we host 5th place Wimborne.
Punch
MAR 2025 Seems like a rough start to the month, but incredibly, we only conceded one goal in six games. As a result, the Analyst is exceptionally happy. Four games to play and Truro already have the title wrapped up, but there is a five way fight for the four play off spots. Stats Goalkeepers Defenders Midfielders Forwards A lot of home games this month helped us make a profit on the back of match day revenue. I have completed the first rung of the Continental ladder. Wimborne are also fighting for play off honours, Truro are Champions, so two tough matches in our run home. We also have a Trophy semi final in there. Monster month to finish the season. Punch
MAR 2025 - Youth Intake The class of 2025 arrives, and the prospects are very exciting. The star ratings can always be a bit hit and miss, but there is a massive amount of potential amongst this group. An exciting attribute ratings list as well, as we have 5 players already rating above 40. Again, so much potential, a very exciting group. A diverse bunch this year as we have as many as 10 players with dual citizenship. This year we welcome our first players from Zimbabwe, Spain, Finland, Burundi, and Nigeria, as well as more from England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. The Best 5 Spoiler If he reaches his potential, he will be a menace in the defensive line. An AM(C) with decent pace, and if we can get some of those other numbers to reach their potential, another very exciting prospect for the forward line. Another really solid looking defender, with the potential to be a monster for opposition forwards. A player not blessed with standout features in any area, but massive potential, and a fantastic name to boot. We've been a bit thin in the M(C) position, so this one is a really exciting prospect. Already some good numbers, but if we can raise some of these to potential, he is a superstar in the making. Overall, I am very happy with this intake. The potential of a lot of these kids to make the first team is very exciting. With the last of the original players leaving the club at the end of this season, there will be plenty of chances for them to make a mark as well.
Punch
APR 2025 - Match Day 39 - Vs Wimborne Town FC Match Report Spoiler A stunning result as The Magpies are blown off the park at Footes Lane. Another League (non-playoff) record crowd piled into the Lane to watch us run riot in the first half, going to the break 3-0 up. A brace for Allen, a stunning free kick from Jaenicke, and a brilliant defensive performance against a fellow play off hopeful, makes for a very happy Manager. Table Spoiler We jump to 2nd, but we were the only game that played, as everyone else will be playing when we are playing our FA Trophy semi final. Punch
APR 2025 - FA Trophy Semi Final - At Stafford Rangers Marston Road - Stafford Spoiler Match Report Spoiler There will be no trip to London for us this year as we go down in a tough won, losing the penalty shoot out. We scored early, but had to come from behind to force the shoot out. One miss sent us out, and Jones was unable to repeat his previous heroics. Disappointing result, but a great effort to make it this far. Up next...back to League action as we travel to 20th place Tiverton.

Punch
APR 2025 - Match Day 40 - At Tiverton Town FC Ladysmead - Tiverton Spoiler Match Report Spoiler We put on a clinic as the attacking unit really clicked into gear and ran riot over the relegation bound Tivvy. A brace for Kirkpatrick, before Docherty came off the bench to score his own double to complete the rout. Table Spoiler Five wins on the bounce has us in 3rd place, and within reach of a play off spot, with two games to play. Punch
APR 2025 - Match Day 41 - Vs Truro City FC Match Report Spoiler Another League (non-play-off) ground record as over 1,100 piled into Footes Lane to be treated to an epic against the Champions. A single first half goal to the visitors was all that separated the teams in the end, as solid defensive performances limited both teams chances. Table Spoiler Despite the loss, we secure a play off spot for the first time as Wimborne were beaten as well, meaning we can't finish any lower then 5th, but we can still finish as high as 2nd. Either way it will be our highest ever finish. Up next...the final regular season match as we head to 16th place Hendon.
Punch
APR 2025 - Match Day 42 - At Hendon AFC Silver Jubilee Park - Hendon Spoiler Match Report Spoiler This one hurts as we fought hard to get back into the match, only to lose it in the final seconds. We struggled to make in roads after conceding in the first half, but looked like we had done enough to share the points when Kirkpatrick score just before the 90. But with the last play of the game, the hosts swung in a corner that we failed to deal with, and their player rose highest to head home to hand us a heart breaking defeat. Punch
APR 2025 - Play Off Semi Final Draw A tough draw as on 2 days rest, we have to travel to Salisbury to take on the team that finished 2nd. The winner will face Gosport or Totton in the Play Off Final for a place in the National North/South.

Punch
2024-2025 Season Review - Stats Goalkeepers Just the one keeper used this season, and while his numbers were impressive, he is not assured of being the starting number one come next season. Class of 24 keeper Jeton Sejdini has been killing it in the 18s this season, and there has been a push from the coaching team to get him in the first team squad. Defenders While Hickinson has been the obvious standout, the entire defensive rotation have put up some great numbers this season. If we can continue that same improvement next season, we will be a very tough defensive unit. Worth noting that only Guernsey Academy players are left in the back line now. Midfielders Salmon really came into his own this season and with the soon departure of the originals, he will be looked to as the midfield leader. I really pushed Weir, especially late in the season, and he really stepped up. His partnership with Salmon will be vital to our chances next season. Forwards With the impending retirement of Allen, Docherty and Kirkpatrick look to be the provider of the majority of our goals. Plenty to like from a lot of the players this season, and we will be looking for the rotation to continue that improvement next season.
Punch
2024-2025 Season Review - Attributes The fun time of year where we get to check out how the players attributes averages compare to last season. Goalkeepers Even though there has been improvement from Jones, this shows why Sejdini is so highly rated by our coaching staff. The friendlies will have a huge say in who starts the season as number 1. Defenders Some really good improvement hear with four really solid defenders, and a good core of backups for rotation. Midfielders A mixed bag here, as Salmon shows massive improvement, while Weir showed great stats, his attributes actually regressed slightly. Abrahams also had good improvement while out on loan, and will be pushing for more game time next season. Forwards Massive improvement from Kirkpatrick, who we will look to with the retirement of Ross Allen. Some steady improvements here, with plenty of options in the rotation. Best Squad Our average age next season will be just 17 years old, and while our average rating dipped a little, it remains just above to 40 mark. So this is now a Guernsey Academy only squad, as all the originals when I started have moved on or retired. Plenty of options, and plenty of reasons to be excited about the future.
Punch
JUN 2025 - Off Season things The final originals have now departed the club. Form now on we will live and die by our Academy players only. Leading the club in all time appearance, and goals, Ross Allen retired from playing...only to immediately sign a new contract... A massive amount of experience, and we will still be able to benefit from it, as he joins the coaching team for our kids. I am not sure I can think of a better outcome than to keep him around the club. He is actually the second former player I have signed, as Carlos Canha, attacking midfielder who was player of the season when we were promoted from the Regional First Division, also joined the club as a scout. I like the Idea of keeping former players around in some capacity, if they want to stay on the island. We kick off the season at home to Basingstoke. After making the play offs, the Board have still not moved the expectation needle, wanting nothing more than to attempt to avoid relegation, while being competitive in the Cups. Well we are not last, but the Bookies still have as one of the favourites for relegation. Friendly season begins with a game against ourselves, before our usual yearly fixtures against Bristol and IoM. We then move on to some tough fixtures to get minutes in legs before the season proper kicks off.
Punch
JUL 2025 - Friendly Season Some impressive results through the friendlies. Apparently both defences forgot there was a game on when we played the 18s, before we played well, but went down to League One Bristol. A thumping win over Isle of Man, before holding National South H&W to a draw. A shock result as we beat League Two Newport, although it was not anywhere near their strongest team, before we rounded out with a scoreless draw against another National South team, Bath. Some strong performances against teams in higher divisions provides us a positive outlook for the season to come. Early season ticket sales are strong again, wiping out our entire debt before the season starts. A massive month to kick off the season as we face seven games in three weeks. COME ON YOU LIONS!!!! Honestly not sure yet, I would have said play offs at the very least, if not pushing for higher, but there are some tough teams in this League, and Hayes & Yeading just got relegated from National South, and they are going to be very tough to beat. Also, this will be our first season of Academy only players, so it will be interesting to see how we adjust to that as well. Punch
AUG 2025 - Match Day 1 - Vs Baskingstoke Town FC Match Report Spoiler Well that is some way to make a statement. A blistering start to the season as The Dragons are slayed at Footes Lane. Four different scorers rack up five goals, and while we couldn't keep the clean sheet, it was a pretty solid defensive performance. Sedjini won the battle for the number 1 shirt to start the season, and put in a solid shift on debut. Table Spoiler Top of the League... But only on goal difference. Punch
AUG 2025 - Match Day 2 - At Hungerford Town FC Bulpit Lane - Hungerford Spoiler Match Report Spoiler Well if anyone was wondering how we would cope with the retirement and release of the remaining original players, the answer has been blistering, so far at least. A quarter hour burst smashed home three goals, as the forward four run amok , creating havoc amongst the Hungerford defensive line. While our own defensive line was solid enough to limit the hosts to just one shot on target, on the way to keeping a clean sheet. Table Spoiler We still sit top on goal difference, but after two games, just three teams remain perfect. Up next...a massive three days rest as we head back to Footes Lane to host 7th place Bedford. Punch
AUG 2025 - Match Day 3 - Vs Bedford Town FC Match Report Spoiler Probably our worst performance of the season so far, but we done enough to collect the points. We were shooting wildly in the first half, only one going in. The crowd eating a pie behind the goal were in more danger than the scoreboard. We pulled it together in the second half, racking up two more goals, before they scored a consolation. The first of the Class of 25 make their debut, as we manage some early season fatigue rotaion. Table Spoiler Flying under the radar no longer...just flying. We are the only perfect team left after three games, rattling up 11 goals in the process. Up next...another quick turnaround as we are on the road to 6th place Bracknell.

A first half brace from Kirkpatrick had us off to a flyer, but we couldn't convert a lot of the chances we created, which came back to bite us. The hosts scoring two late goals to earn a share of the points. Table Spoiler We stay top for now as a lot of the teams near us also drew. A season high home crowd were treated to a first half hat-trick from Docherty, before Cotterill added the cherry on top in the second half to complete a dominant performance. Another of the Class of 25 gets minutes off the bench as we deal with some early season fatigue issues. Table Spoiler Five unbeaten to start the season and we stay top. Solid performances at both end of the park, as we keep a clean sheet as well, limiting their attack. Punch
AUG 2025 - Match Day 7 - Vs Beaconsfield Town FC Match Report Spoiler A massive crowd piled into Footes Lane to watch us run riot over The Rams. Over 1,000 is just huge support for this level. They were treated to an impressive performance, with a brace in each half as we stormed away to a 4-0 win. An impressive defensive performance as well, as we almost completely shut down their offence, allowing only one shot on target. The continued need for rotation has allowed for another of the Class of 25 to debut, and he put in a solid shift at the back. Table Spoiler An amazing start to the season as we maintain first place. Punch
AUG 2025 That's some start to the season as we go 7 games undefeated, making a mockery of our predicted relegation so far. Those are some pretty impressive numbers shown by the Analyst, confirming our brilliant start to the season. We hold first place, but Hayes & Yeading are going to be tough to beat. They started slowly drawing their opening two games, but have been on a tear ever since. Stats Goalkeepers Sejdini has been in great form to start the season, justifying his choice as number 1. However, he will miss our next few games, as his form has been so good, he's been called up for Albania U21s, so it will come in very handy to have Jones step straight into goals. Defenders The number of games has resulted in plenty of players getting time here, with the numbers being put up very pleasing as well. Midfielders The midfield has been really dominant since since the departures of the originals. Forwards Kirkpatrick and Docherty have well and truly stepped out of the huge shadow cast by Ross Allen. The crowds and match day income have helped limit the damage to the bank balance so far. An enormous level of support at this level. A big month coming up, with the FA Cup kicking off, and a monster clash away to Hayes & Yeading.
