MD24CU2.png.b5428e2566f412b14f417b441b22900c.png

We had the weekend off as we had already played Bracknell, who were on FA Trophy duty today.

MD24CU1.png.0869eff31dad26dd22446a5794de70be.png

Chippenham won, cutting our lead to 7 points, while H&Y were beaten at home again.

Bedford jump to 3rd place, and we travel to meet them in our next match.

Another tough match, and another match where mistakes cost us.

We had the better of the chances, but had to come from behind again to rescue a point.

DECSchedulecomplete.png.29d9c54405f4fbc7009567deaa4ba3f1.png

A poor finish to the year as we win only one of our last four games.

DECAnalyst.png.e2d7f63a97a2f82b45d166c7983a9923.png

The Analyst is not too unhappy, but we need to cut out some of the mistakes that gave up easy goals.

DECTable.thumb.png.23eefe0845715e70bd1e058e0c873707.png

We still hold first, but only because the teams below us have been as inconsistent, or even worse then we were this month.

Last month I was linked with Wycombe, this month it was MK Dons. Again, no offers, but the Board were happy that I shot it down.

DECFinances.png.13323f5c281f3efb9e8583a83827297b.png

After ending last month with £200k in the bank, I got the Board to burn through it with upgrades this month, most of which went on us kicking off our first ever Youth Facility upgrade.

JANSchedule.png.fd865cccae65e9a153912709312ab920.png

One extra game this month, but hopefully we can manage the fatigue well now with just League games to concentrate on.

We blew off the New Years cobwebs, and a dusty December, to thrash the hapless Rebels.

A blistering first half seen us 4-0 up at the break, before Kirkpatrick completed his hat-trick in the second half, to round out a 5-0 win.

Always happy to see our defence keep a clean sheet as well.

The wheels seem to have completely fallen off at H&Y. The unbackable favourites at the start of the season, now find themselves in danger of struggling to make the play offs.

A draw for Chippenham means we extend the lead back to double figures.

Maidenhead seem to have fallen off

Yep, made the National League, spent a few years there, then suffered back to back relegations free falling into the Regional Premier Leagues. They finished 10th last season and have been struggling this year.

Hayes & Yeading are another interesting case. Relegated last season, odds on favourite to win the title, and started the season strongly, but have been struggling for the last few months, now finding themselves battling to stay in the play off spots.

A disappointing lapse to allow a goal to be conceded though.

Neither side could make much of their chances, while the Ref nearly blew the pea out of his whistle, pulling up every little thing.

A League record (non-play off) piled into Footes Lane to watch an epic battle unfold.

Both sides went hard at each other for the full 90 minutes, the hosts getting the early goal, before we leveled late.

A tough fight with neither side being able to score a winner, and shared points probably a fair result.

A good crowd in at the Lane to see us put in a frustrating first half, despite an early goal, it looked like a day where we were not going to take the chances we created.

This makes our next game against them massive as a win would send us 14 clear with 8 to play, a loss will make it 8 points with 8 to play.

A massive 6 pointer match that could almost decide the title in our favour.

Up next...we travel to 2nd place Chippenham for a massive clash, a win could almost put us out of reach for the title.

The game against Chippenham will take on extra significance as I will rack up my 200th game in charge of the Green Lions.

The one thing I notice, is that's a lot of games won, to have never actually won anything

Top of the table clash that delivered on it's potential, as we had to come from behind to secure a massive, and hard earned three points.

The Bluebirds took the lead into the break, but we hit back straight after.

Cotterill headed us into the lead late, before we hung on for dear life in the final 10 minutes, barely managing to survive.

A monster crowd in at Footes Lane to see what will go down as one of the craziest games of football I've ever seen.

We were down 0-2 before 10 minutes had elapsed, and 10 minutes later, it was 2-2.

A third goal gave us the lead by half time, which was most unexpected as the visitors were all over us.

THey leveled after the break, and then had a chance to kill the game with a penalty on 51 minutes, but Sejdini came up huge again to save the spot kick.

A Tyrie rocket from outside the area gave us the lead with about 10 to play, and from the we managed to hang on for dear life, and secure the points.

MAR 2026 - Youth Intake

The Class of 26 arrives, and while it's not as strong as last years intake, there are some solid prospects in the group.

YI1.png.f1ba891c802f24dd1d122fd8a7dd3c97.png

The Potential stars show there is plenty to like about this group, but there are few with decent Current ability as well.

YI2.png.9056b9614ce175a4adfbe97beed46525.png

A real mixed bag in the Attribute averages, again with some players already showing great potential.

YI3.png.36c8c835c08db892e6673ba9c40fa648.png

Another group of players with a lot of dual citizenship's, but we add DR Congo and Italy this year.

Spoiler

YI4.thumb.png.d4a1c8cd132c41852cff33c4df0912cd.png

YI5.thumb.png.b8d5f8b9514717b523cf8b2e91e8e9ec.png

Another exciting forward prospect, again, it's about the potential. If we can get his numbers up, he looks another dangerous prospect.

YI6.thumb.png.5975f05f37bbf46f8852096b228226a5.png

A solid looking defender that is already rated in the top 5 at the club.

YI7.thumb.png.95815227dee7b37f04d93c49f5f09f11.png

A solid midfielder, who already has great passing, and decent technique. Massive potential again.

YI8.thumb.png.eb1879c49fee4404d4ddb0bb9c65543e.png

Paton looks to be another solid defender with massive potential. Again, if we can get those numbers up, looks a very solid defender.

Overall a solid looking intake, with decent long term prospects, and some players who already look like they have decent ability.

There are some who probably won't make the cut, but with the player numbers growing, it will be time to get more ruthless on who we keep and who we send on their way.

A solid first half performance allowed us to coast through the second half and lift the trophy.

As big a game as it was, there were no nerves shown by the kids, as we wrap up the title, and promotion, with two games to spare.

With the trophy secured, we sent some kids out to see how they handled themselves.

They came from behind twice to snatch a draw. A lot to learn, but they handled themselves pretty well.

Our Under 18s squad have been impressive this season, and they sure know how to find their way to goal too.

Looking like we have a good production line coming through.

We finish the season on a high with a come from behind win in front of a monster crowd at Footes Lane.

Down 0-2 before the break, we we level just after, before finding a late winner to send the fans home happy with a double celebration.

We take the title by 5 points, from pre-season favourites Hayes & Yeading.

But what a crazy final day...

Bedford come from the clouds to take a play off spot.

Chippenham were challenging for the title at one stage, but miss out on the play offs completely after losing to Frome, who with that result, escaped the relegation zone.

Four tams end up on the same points, but two miss the play offs on goal difference.

It's been that kind of season.

Up next...time to review the season that was.

That bodes well for the future in a Youth Development save, @Punch

Some very good potential in the U18's, just got to hope they go on with it now.

My first trophy with the club, and the clubs second overall - after winning tier 10 way back in their inaugural season in 2010-2011.

This became my second promotion with the club, and their third overall.
