After 10 consecutive losses to Spurs, on a technicality, we still haven't beaten them.

Who cares now? I bet the Guernsey fans don't.

With 90,000 people holding their breath in the stadium, defender Sam Copely stepped up, sent the keeper the wrong way, smashing home the title winning penalty.

A massive moment for the club, as we lift our first Cup trophy, since we won back to back EFL Trophy's, as League Two and League One members back in 2034/35 and 2035/36.

That's fantastic, @Punch

Massive congratulations! :applause:

Sounds like a right roller-coaster of emotions for you in that EFL Cup Final.

We made hard work of it, but we are through after a tight win over the Hatters.

After surviving the early onslaught from the hosts, we settled into our game plan, but despite creating chances, we were frustrated into snatching at them, and not putting them away.

The second half carried on in pretty much the same fashion, and it took until 74 minutes before we finally broke through to take the lead.

We managed to hang on for the remaining 15 minutes, booking our passage into the Quarter Final.

We will host Charlton in the Quarter Final.

We have a pretty solid record against them, especially in our last few meetings.

We return to League action in what seems like the first time for ages, and we face a tough ask first up, traveling to 4th place Arsenal.

Thanks mate!

It sure was. We had so many chances to put that game away, but Spurs just kept coming at us, I thought it wasn't going to be our day, and we were going to lose another Cup Final, but we hung on and got there in the end through the lottery of the shoot out.

It seems like weeks since we played a League game as our Cup games have taken up the last two weeks.

It was a crazy start to this game as we were two goals down in the first six minutes, before we pulled one back on 11 minutes.

The game took another twist when the Gunners had a player sent off before half time, and in first half injury time, we found an equaliser to head to the break all square.

We dominated the second half but struggled to make our numerical advantage pay.

On 78 minutes we finally took a chance and hit the lead, but we were not able to make it stick, as the hosts scored a late equaliser.

We stay 10th, with our 5th unbeaten.

Our League Cup win makes us the first team to qualify for European Football next season.

A cracking result over the Toffees, even though it took us until the very end of the match to seal the three points.

While we took the early lead, and dominated pretty much the entire match, we were unable to strike the killer blow as the visitors kept hanging in.

A late goal in the shadows of full time finally broke their spirit though, and another in injury time soon followed to ice the cake with a valuable three points.

MAR 2043 - Youth Intake

The class of 43 has arrived, and with the Preview promised very little to be excited about, it seems to have delivered about that too.

MARYouthIntake1.png.1440dd556e06a68f00cca5ad1f5765ca.png

While I have never thought much of the star system, there is not a lot to get excited about with this years intake.

A few 3.5 star ratings, and a couple of 3 stars.

MARYouthIntake2.png.5ab8ea77a8ca4b1456fd32db07272f72.png

The attribute scores don't leave a lot to be desired, and even the few that do have decent scores, will hit their ceilings pretty quickly.

The Best of them

Spoiler

MARYouthIntake6.png.015953afa10601abe0976e58b9f6ea80.png

A striker with quality finishing and decent numbers, has the potential to make a rotation player, but may not be a superstar in waiting.

MARYouthIntake7.png.d9f6c27cef33d881d8a0c69977610433.png

A solid defender, again who could possibly make a rotation player.

MARYouthIntake8.png.dbf960d581c7770e71ec9706e23497a6.png

A left sided midfielder, who will be retrained as a defensive midfielder, another who has the possibility to be a part of the rotation.

MARYouthIntake9.png.543c682afb5ebc39f6d27ab1748fec9b.png

Plenty of room for improvement, but maybe not the determination to reach his potential. Time will tell with this one.

MARYouthIntake10.png.dce8a4f7e00fb2fbf8550687dc600eb6.png

This one is the opposite of the previous, where he has massive determination, but maybe not the potential. Again, will be interesting to see how this one turns out.

MARYouthIntake3.png.88be1fd3314e57cf4c33eb24a6543575.png

MARYouthIntake4.png.06409fe17cdb42334a068cff72b425d2.png

MARYouthIntake5.png.503e3463d777f4fea54d3f1f59a80a2d.png

We produce our first player from Brazil, and interestingly, not a single player from Guernsey this year.

Not a lot to be optimistic about this season, and there are probably less than half of this intake that will get picked up.

That alone will make it one of our worst intakes.

Hopefully better to come.

A complete mixed bag to be honest. We have had some amazing saves, full of really talented kids, and we have had others where we barely took anyone, and none of those we did ended up making it to the first team.

We have also had bad overall intakes, that have produced one or two players who were brilliant.

So not sure that answers your question  but they really have been all over the place.

A near perfect performance as the Addicks are cast aside in a completely dominant performance.

Two goals either side of the break, along with an astonishing defensive performance, limiting the visitors to 3 shots on goal, none on target.

An amazing performance to send us through to the Semi Final, keeping us in contention for a second Cup.

A real roller coaster of emotions in this one.

We got the early goal, before Wolves dominated most of the first half, yet we scored again before the break, taking a good lead into half time.

The visitors came out firing again in the second half, and while we managed to hold them out, they then scored two goals in three minutes in a crushing blow.

We refused to give in through, before our bench came good, with Watson coming on to smash home a late winner, to take a massive three points, in a game we both dominated, and struggled for periods.

The Posh have been awful this season, and we put them to the sword, recording our biggest Premier League win, in a brilliant display.

A disappointing result as our 8 game unbeaten run comes to an end.

Finnegan is 25, and currently has 188 League goals, but he is still 95 goals behind Ross Allen's all time mark of 282.

If he was to keep scoring at last seasons rate he would be there in a couple of years, but the goals have been shared around a lot more this season.

There is also the possibility that one of the up and coming strikers over takes him as a regular starter, as while he is our best scorer, he is rated as our best striker.

I know that's a lot of words, that probably didn't really answer your question

It was a tougher game than the scoreline suggests, but a goal in each half was enough to get the job done, and take the three points home from Villa Park.

With two of the bar we could have ended up with a bigger scoreline, but Hamilton also had a great game in goal, and the defence put on a great shift to keep the Villains scoreless.

Back in the winning circle and we jump to 8th place.

With three games to play, we are probably out of reach  of the top six, but with our League Cup win already securing continental football next season, there is less importance on reaching that high.

We have a shot at our second straight FA Cup Final as we head to Wembley to take on West Brom in the Semi Final.

We don't have a great record against them from our time in the Championship, but we haven't met since we were promoted.

It was a hard slog, and it took a late goal, but we are off to the FA Cup Final for the second year in a row.

We took an early lead, but were unable to press home our advantage to take a bigger lead, which came back to hurt us when they leveled near the half hour mark.

After a tight second half, and it looking like neither side would be able to find a winner, it was again Finnegan who came off the bench to find himself in the right spot to smash home the winner, sending us through.

We came from two goals down to level by the break, took the lead after the break, only to give it up again, as we share the points in a six goal thriller.

Two goals and an assist for O'Connor as he put together a brilliant game.

Conceding too many goals, which has been our crux all season, hurts us again today.

A completely dominant performance as we put three past Rovers, although it should have been five or six, and it could have been seven or eight.

The only downside to the day was giving up a goal, to the only shot they put on target.

MD374.png.810f54ea776d556fd74d296dca19d6d0.pngMD375.png.efebb1c2a4c6ab060af5ed51417ee559.pngMD376.png.4097098f2442a922197537fe3786ceb2.png

We remain in 8th place, and with one game remaining, we can finish no higher, but can only finish as low as 9th, which is still improvement on our 12th place finish last season.

Arsenal and Man U have now qualified for Europe, with just the finishing order to be confirmed, while the last continental place, and the League title will come down to the final day.

Amazingly, at the other end of the table, Bournemouth have put together three straight wins, and will go into the last day in a three way battle to avoid relegation.

A cracking game at Guernsey Stadium as we hold the Citizens to a draw in our final game of the season.

Both sides played attacking football, so it was surprising that there was only four goals in the game.

We did, however, give up the lead twice, including a late goal in the shadows of full time to concede points.

MD383.png.2f62b858597194c84c2ece6f765556f6.pngMD384.png.67193144aeda8ad59f59b771f893070a.png

It was all happening on the last day, but in the end, not a lot changed.

The top half of the all won, meaning West Ham hung on to claim the title, while Liverpool will have to wait until the result of the FA Cup is in, to see where they and we fall in the European competitions.

The relegation battle sides all lost, so Bournemouth's late season revival was all for nought, as they slide back to the Championship.

As for us, we complete our best ever finish, first time in the top 10, and save for the Champions, we had the best attacking record in the League, but we also had the worst defensive record in the top half.

We continue to show great improvement, but we also show that we have a long way to go.

Up Next...nearly a months break before we get another crack at the FA Cup Final.

Our second straight trip to Wembley for the FA Cup Final, where we made a horrible start, and could not recover.

For the second year in a row, keeper Adam Hamilton was forced to miss the Final due to international duty, and his replacement Redmond, could only watch as the Hammers took the lead in the first minute with a stunningly struck volley from the edge of the area.

On 18 minutes, it was almost a carbon copy, even by the same player, as we found ourselves two goals down early.

West Ham dominated for most of the match, but we did create a few chances, although we were not able to find the net.

Our push for a comeback finally came back to bite us, getting caught on the counter, which killed off the game, although we did get a very late conciliation.

It just wasn't our day, as the newly crowned League Champions managed to complete their double, and we were again forced to watch as our opponent lifted the trophy.

MDFACF3.png.f71e256b43399012a6cfa44604220bf2.png

With Hamilton spending plenty of time on International duty, Redmond got a lot of game time this season.

Hamilton may find himself becoming a victim of his own success though, as he now has a genuine challenger for the number 1 keeper spot, as there is a push from our back room staff to promote Redmond to the number 1 spot.

All stays the same in the Premier League records though, as Hamilton and Finnegan extend their respective records.

Finnegan is now only 1 game behind Hamilton, so that could see a change next season as well.

MF.png.e44846dcc9b9a5d586964d218a750112.png

An area where we have plenty of quality options available, with plenty more coming through.

We should be well served in the centre for some time to come.

Forwards

FW.png.654b08f6356f87aad69e38de6e46f4df.png

Again, plenty of quality options, with plenty of support acts coming through.

Interesting that while Finnegan is our best scorer, he has never been our best rated forward, however, he continues to show gentle improvement.

Best Squad

BestSquad1.png.20ffa9f4df88fd1afd1102f632bb2cab.png

The squad age, and the attribute average increase ever so slightly, as we continue to show steady improvement.

The squad continues to come along nicely, and we continue to have plenty of options available.

A big rotation might be needed next season as we throw in the challenges of European Football in the schedule as well.

I would think the English representative in the Conference League would be among the top four teams in terms of quality almost by default, so I'm guessing the game is expecting some quality teams to drop down from the Europa League.

It's going to be an exciting challenge for us, on many fronts.

Crisostomo had fallen down the pecking order, and wanted to chase more first team football, while McNerney was unlikely to make it to our first team.

JUL 2043 - Pre Season Things

JULScheduleComplete.png.ff42d48fa78310cd21af27fd7f116ab9.png

The results were excellent, but it was more about getting plenty of minutes in legs to start what is going to be a hectic season.

Will be interesting to see if anything comes of it this time around.

JULFinances7.png.822113b2615b4fed6c63d1ac128d88cf.png

The big sale, as we sell Mitchell for the second time.

In 2036 we sold him to Tottenham for £8 million. He only played one game for them, before finding his way to Brighton, Blackburn, Rangers, and eventually West Brom.

West Brom gave him back to us as a part of a player exchange in 2041, playing a further 2 seasons for us, before wanting to move on again.

When this massive offer came in, it was a no brainer to send him on his way.

JULTransferAmaya.png.9133c3a4d246fe9e2da24aae370ed4f4.png

A crazy offer for a player who was not even really part of the regular rotation.

Too good to turn down, so I took the money and sent him on his way.

Ironically, they are known as the Red Lions, so it will be a big cat battle.

We are also still to find out our opponent for our League Cup defence.

We will still have to make sure we put in a good performance to get the job done though.

We were expected to dominate, and we got the job done in some style.

Our active leading goal scorer, Finnegan, kicked off our European adventure in style, smashing home four goals, while we had three others find the back of the net.

Despite dominating the first half, we were only two up by the break, but the flood gates really opened in the second half as we ran riot.

Our young team showed they were up to the task, and didn't suffer under the weight of expectation.

Up next...we are off the the Faroe Islands for the return leg against HB.

With a seven goal lead, there might be a bit of rotation, as we have our first League game just three days after.

Meh! It's been going on for so long, I will believe it when I see it.

Yep, the current owner has been pretty good in getting things done, easy to deal with, and very rarely fights me on upgrades, not that we have many left.

 That's great.

Is the current owner actively looking to sell the club or is it merely speculative media reporting?
