Punch
APR 2044 - Match Day 32 - Vs Leeds United After we knocked them out of the FA Cup last month, the Whites were keen for revenge, although we started slight favourites at home. Two early goals, as O'Connor continued his brilliant run of form, sent us on our way. While the visitors did pull a goal back after the break, a Finnegan sealer late, was enough to end the fight back, and secure all three points. It was also our first win in a milestone match, as we win my 1,200th game in charge. We jump Brentford on goal difference to 7th place. We are off to Germany, as we face Wolfsburg in the Conference League Quarter Final, 1st Leg.
Punch
APR 2044 - Conference League Quarter Final - 1st Leg - At VFL Wolfsburg The battle of the greens as we headed to Germany to take on Wolfsburg in the 1st Leg of our Quarter Final. The game was a lot closer than the final scoreline suggested, but a brilliant hat-trick from Finnegan gives us a massive advantage heading back to Guernsey in a weeks time. As for Finnegan, a header, a stunning volley, and a penalty, showing his versatility, and importance to this team, continuing to lead from the front, despite not being rated as one of our best forwards. Young midfielder Frankie Nix also had a blinder, playing as a wing back. Almost seems like mission impossible as we head to Spurs on just one days rest.

Punch
APR 2044 - Match Day 33 - At Tottenham Hotspur A rotation of nearly the entire team from that which played in Germany just two days ago. We were brave in defeat, holding Spurs out for nearly 80 minutes before they scored the only goal of the game. A tough defeat, but it was a really tough ask to be scheduled that way as well. We fall a place to 8th, while Norwich become the first team relegated, and Arsenal become the second team to qualify for Europe. The battle of the greens concludes as we host Wolfsburg in the 2nd Leg of our Conference League Quarter Final.
Punch
APR 2044 - Conference League Quarter Final - 2nd Leg - Vs Vfl Wolfsburg The battle of the greens - 2.0 - where we took a 3-0 lead from the first leg in Germany last week. An early penalty settled the nerves, and killed of any thoughts of a Wolfsburg comeback. Two goals in a minute sealed the deal, and Kennedy's hat-trick as we march on to the Semi Final. Winning keeps the money rolling in. We get Atalanta in the Semi Final, heading to Italy for the 1st Leg, before we host the 2nd on the island. We met earlier in the competition, where we came from 1-3 down, to secure a late win, in what was a pretty big upset at the time. We return to League action, with two days rest this time, and we take our longest road trip in the League, as we head north to take on the 12th place Newcastle.
Punch
APR 2044 - Match Day 34 - At Newcastle United A tough day in the north, although we managed to come from behind twice to take a share of the points. We started off like a tired team, as the run of matches seems to be taking it's toll. Finnegan smashed home the late penalty to secure the draw, but there was not much else to cheer about as we struggled to make inroads in the Newcastle defence. We stay 8th place, with the best attacking record, but our defensive record is not as good as the teams we are trying to chase. 16th place Brighton come to the island, and they are on a three game winning streak.
Punch
APR 2044 - Match Day 35 - Vs Brighton & Hove Albion We started heavy favourites over the Seagulls, but they have been in good form of late, so we still had to make sure we did a good job to get it done. An early penalty from Finnegan settled the nerves and allowed us to control the game, although we only went to the break one goal up still. We kept the pressure on the visitors in the second half, and were rewarded with two further goals, as Chamberlain sealed the game, and Finnegan iced the cake, completing his brace. The win keeps us in 8th place, still within reach of the European places. The games keep coming thick and fast as we travel to Wolverhampton to face the struggling Wolves.
Punch
APR 2044 - Match Day 36 - At Wolverhampton Wanderers A cracking result as we put in a dominant performance to take all three points. Two goals back to back had us in command, although we did give one back just before the break. We continued to dominate the second half, but struggled to put the game away, before Finnegan came off the bench to score a rapid fire brace, and finally kill it off. This was the only game today, a fixture change due to our upcoming Conference League Semi Final. We jumped up to 6th place, but the teams around us have played a game or two less. We are off to Italy to round out the month, as we face Atalanta in the 1st Leg of the Conference League Semi Final.

Punch
APR 2044 - Conference League Semi Final - 1st Leg - At Atalanta BC A dominant performance, but we still somehow managed to end up losing this one. Both teams were attacking from the jump, with plenty of chances created, but neither of us were able to trouble the target much. The hosts hit the back of the net first with a scrappy goal line tussle poked home to take the lead. Just after the break should have been enough to kick us into gear when they had a player sent off. In a way it did, we just executed poorly. Frankie Nix rattle the bar with a stinging shot from outside the area, but that was as close as we came, as we seemed to leave our free scoring boots at home in this one. Atalanta will hold a slender lead heading into the 2nd Leg in a weeks time. It's all square in the other Semi Final, so there is plenty on the line for all four teams next week. Our next match is the 2nd Leg in a weeks time, where we will need to overturn a 0-1 deficit for a shot at the Final.
Punch
APR 2044 A crazy schedule of 8 games, but we managed to win 3 of 5 League games, with a draw and a loss, while we advanced in the Conference League, but we trail after the 1st Leg of the Semi Final. Another cracking month from our Captain sees him rewarded with the Player of the Month award. Stats Goalkeepers Hamilton and Redmond have been sharing game time, and it seems to be bringing out the best in both of them. Defenders Midfielders Forwards An incredible amount of goals, we now have a player with 30+ goals, four with 20+, 3 more forwards with double figures, while midfielder Buss also has double figures. While we were on Cup Duty Plenty of games played while we were in Italy, but we stay in 8th place. There will be another European place for the League places, with West Ham qualifying for the Champions League. With Liverpool having two games in hand over us, direct qualification for Europe might still be out of reach for us. The Board are happy that we are going to record a top-half finish ahead of schedule. We still continue to be one of the most profitable teams in the League. We make a good profit this month. A nice little bonus received from one of our Loan players add-ons. We have two League games remaining, while we start the month with the 2nd Leg of the Conference League Semi Final.
Punch
MAY 2044 - The race for Europe heats up Liverpool played one of their make up games, sending them to 5th place on goal difference, although they are equal with three teams. This leaves us in 8th place, from which we can not finish any lower, but we are now on equal played games with two of the teams above us. At two points behind, we basically need to win both games, and hope that Southampton or Brentford falter. However, our next League match is against Brentford, so we will need to win that. The problem then, is that our last game is against Arsenal, who are on the brink of winning the League Title. An exciting end to the season coming up, with so many options still available to a lot of teams.
Punch
MAY 2044 - Conference League Semi Final - 2nd Leg - Vs Atalanta BC Our dream debut in Europe comes to a shuddering end in a heart breaker on the island. We went all out and got the goal we needed to get back in the game. We continued to push hard looking for the winner, creating so many chances that we could have won four games, but we just couldn't get the ball in the back of the net. Through the second half, and two periods of extra time we continued to push for the winner, but their defence held strong, and we went to the lottery of penalties. Unfortunately we blinked first as our 4th shot was saved, we were not able to save any of theirs. We collect more money despite the loss. So our debut season in Europe comes to an end, and while the Board wanted us to reach the Quarter Finals, so while reaching the Semi Finals seems to have been an over-achievement, it stills feels like we missed a chance here, as it feels like we could have done more. Hopefully we get another chance to prove our mettle in Europe again soon. We now have to focus on the remaining League games, to try and qualify for another shot at Europe. That begins with a big match against Brentford, who are two points ahead of us on the table.

Punch
MAY 2044 - Match Day 37 - Vs Brentford We needed the win to keep our hopes of European qualification alive, and we put in a dominant performance to take the three points in our final home game of the year. A goal in each half was enough to take the win, and Frankie Nix turned in a cracking performance, continuing to grow into this team. The teams above us all lost, and we jumped from 8th place to 5th place with one match to play, although Liverpool still have a game in hand. Our final match of the season send us to Arsenal, with the Gunners looking to secure the title, and us looking to secure European qualification.

Punch
MAY 2044 - A star on the rise Our U21s team thumped Man U in the Champions Play Off Final, with our young up and coming striker smashing home 7 goals. I am really going to have to find a way to get him into the First XI. In 31 games in the U21s this season, he has thumped in a stunning 66 goals, along with a further 15 assists. He has come a long way this season, and I am really interested in seeing how he fairs in the end of season attributes review, as I expect he will be highly rated among our squad. A potential superstar is about to explode on the scene I think.
Punch
MAY 2044 - Match Day 38 - At Arsenal We pushed the Champions all the way but came up short in our final match of the season. An early cracker from Jayson Buss was cancelled out two minutes later. A pretty tight affair for the remainder of the match, but the hosts slotted home a winner late to seal the three points. Southampton won, qualifying for the Europa League, while Brentford lost along with us, and Liverpool had a draw. This results in Liverpool, and us, qualifying for the Conference League, giving us another shot at Europe. Our 7th place finish beats our 8th place from last season, giving us our highest ever finish. Another shot at the Conference League, where we take West Ham's place for winning the League Cup, as they have qualified for the Champions League. Up next...time to review the season that was.
Punch
MAY 2044 - Europa Conference League Review Atalanta, who eliminated us in the Semi Final, have gone on to win the Conference League. Alan Kennedy had a season to remember, taking out a raft of awards. We had a great season, with the Board wanting us to reach the Quarter Final stage, we surpassed their expectations by reaching the Semi Final. We have managed to qualify for a second shot at this League again next season, so we will be aiming for one better.

Punch
MAY 2044 We exited the Conference League after a penalty shootout, and we won one and lost one of our remaining League matches, but it was enough to see us qualify for next years Conference League. Awards Another massive year for Finnegan taking out a host of League awards, while Watson was the Young Player of the Year, and Gudmundsson's first League Goal, which was at the time, the Goal of the Month, has gone on to be awarded the Goal of the Year. Our Youth Category has been successfully upgraded to Level 1, allowing us more staff, but also ramping up the costs. We were almost the most profitable club in terms of transfers this season. We still have the lowest wage to turn over ratio in the League. A big month financially as the sponsorship dollars roll in. Our League prizemoney also lands, although the Board, who wanted to finish mid-table, who seem disappointed that we qualified for Europe again. We are currently spending just over £1 million per week, so we still have plenty of room to move, if/as needed.

Punch
A massive change in Europe There have been some big changes to European qualifications recently, due to certain Cup results. Liverpool, who had qualified for the Conference League along with us, have won the Europa League, thereby gaining qualification direct to the Champions League. Southampton, who had qualified for the Europa League, have won the FA Cup, thereby also qualifying for the Champions League. This has resulted in 6 Premier League teams qualifying for the Champions League, which has left some openings down the line. Therefore, we have been elevated from the Conference League, to the Europa League, taking the place of the elevated Southampton. While below us, the 8th place Brentford, who missed out on qualification, have been elevated to the Conference League, taking the place vacated by ourselves. Not 100% sure how I feel about this, as while it's a massive opportunity and experience for us, I am not quite sure we are ready for it yet. Another interesting season to come.

Punch
2043-2044 Season Review - Stats Goalkeepers Defenders Midfielders Forwards
Punch
2043-2044 Season Review - Attributes Goalkeepers Nick Redmond has become our number one attribute wise, but Mario has the highest rank by CA, if only just. So next season will see a real fight for the first team places, as Hamilton is slipping down the pecking order. Defenders Other than Gudmundsson, there has been very little growth, and even some regression among the defenders. Midfielders Much like the defenders, the midfielders have seen minimal growth, and even some regression. Forwards Steady progression among the forwards, although I was surprised that Sam Marshall is still ranked as lowly as he is, despite his impressive growth. The squad overall has risen above 22 in terms of average age, while the squad average continues to rise steadily. Overall, I am happy enough with the squad, and the way it is continuing to improve, although I would like to see some more growth in the defensive line. There has been a contraction in the squad size, as we have let plenty of players go, who were simply not going to make it to the first team level. So for next season, we will be carrying a smaller squad, but we have plenty of players in the middle of the range that will be able to step up and help with the rotation as required.
Punch
JUN 2044 - Off Season Things Internationals A mass of players on duty, both in the European Championships, the Copa America, and other competitions. Adam Hamilton has overtaken Panikos Zachariou as our most capped player. Our European ranking has increased a couple of places. The bank balance will begin the new season in a very healthy place. Looking ahead Bournemouth, Blackburn, and Preston will join us from the Championship. We will begin the season hosting the newly promoted Blackburn, before we travel to Chelsea. The bookies have us placed inside the top 10, for the first time. We start friendly season with the minimum of games, so we may end up with a few more in there yet.

Punch
JUL 2044 - Pre Season Things Friendly season kicked off with a bang, after a tough hit out at Shrewsbury, we got goal happy on our Singapore swing training camp, before getting some much tougher games closer to home. Plenty of minutes in plenty of legs which resulted in a few extra games being thrown in to get more players in match fitness. We had two players remaining on international duty at the Euro competition, however after this loss, we now had all our players back on deck. Transfers With the squad having thinned out over the last few seasons, I am not actively looking to sell any players, but I have sent a few non-important payers on their way. Dargan was a fringe player, who was never going to push into a regular starter, so when he didn't want to sign a new contract, I sent him on his way for a healthy fee when this offer came in. Fontana had never been good enough to play a senior game for us, so when this crazy offer came in, it was happily accepted. We have received offers for plenty of players, but I have been turning them all down. The players don't seem to concerned. Tottenham made an offer for striker, Adam Chambers, which I rejected, and he was upset about it. I told him I was not selling him to a division rival, weakening us, and strengthening him, and he happily accepted this response. We have smashed our season ticket record from last season. We are mid-table again. Another big month financially, sends us over the £500 million mark for the first time. I clicked 'Best XI' button, and this is what was selected. Interesting that Nick Redmond is now considered our best keeper, while Captain Romario Finnegan, finds himself on the bench. To be fair though, all of these players will probably get a lot of game time over the course of the season. We have a couple of friendlies before the season proper kicks off at home to newly promoted Blackburn.
Punch
AUG 2044 - Match Day 1 - Vs Blackburn Rovers A solid performance, backed by a brilliant defensive effort, as we start off the season with a win over the newly promoted Rovers. Two goals by half time had us well on the way, but the visitors hung in and gave us a tougher battle in the second half. It took a late goal from Finnegan to really kill of the match and secure the points. Not much to be read into the table yet, but a win is a good way to start the season. A tougher challenge next up as we head to Chelsea.

Punch
AUG 2044 - Match Day 2 - At Chelsea A stunning result as we put in one of our best Premier League performances to blast the Blues off their own home ground. The hosts started the match as favourites, but we started the match the better as Finnegan put us in the lead early, and it was a blow from which they never recovered. He had his second before the break to have us two up at the half, but we really ran away with it in the second. O'Connor scored the sealer, before Finnegan completed his hat-trick, with youngster George putting the icing on the cake to complete a five goal hammering. The big win sends us top. Flying under the radar no more. Another big test as we travel to face West Ham, who we did beat in a pre-season friendly a few weeks ago, although that counts for nothing now.

Punch
AUG 2044 - Europa League Draw We don't face any Qualifying Rounds for Europe this year, landing straight into the League phase. While we will face trips to Scotland (Hibernian), Greece (Olympiacos), Norway (Odd), and Portugal (Sporting Braga). We are ranked 91st, so we face 3 clubs ranked below us, while we face 5 clubs ranked above us. We couldn't keep it going in the second half though as the pressure was too much, and they ran out comfortable winners in the end. We drop to 4th with our first loss of the season. Punch
AUG 2044 We rounded out Friendly season with two tough matches, before making a cracking start to the League season, however we ended the month with a loss to West Ham. Gudmundsson takes out the Young Player of the Month Award, while our kids also took out 2nd and 3rd places. Transfers A pretty large pay out for a fringe player who had never been able to reach his full potential with us. Gethin James is another who had never been able to find his place, so we send him on his way, and buy our second ever player. Faherty was the top of our Class of 32, and was sold to Boro a decade ago, and has gone on to have a pretty decent career, playing over 200 games for them. He has played over 350 League games, scoring 100 goals, so come with the potential to be a handy rotation player, with a lot of experience, and he essentially costs us nothing to gain back. We sent plenty of players out on loan again to get them some more experience, and allow us to have plenty of playing time in our 18's & 21s. Our wage bill has gone up, but we are still almost at the bottom end of the tree, well below the League average, and laughable in comparison to the bigger clubs. Apparently the takeover is back on the radar again. We make a loss this month. A busy month coming up as we kick off our Europa League and League Cup campaigns.

So I just clicked 'Best XI': There are currently 5 Guernsey natives in the best squad, however, 39a Frankie Nix, and 42a Sam Marshall also spend time in the first team, and they are both also Guernsey natives, so you could say there are 7 all up.
