Punch
DEC 2029 - Match Day 24 - Vs Weymouth FC Footes Lane - St Peter Port, Guernsey Spoiler Match Report Spoiler A game that could have went either way at 1-1, but we stuck at it and run away with the game. Two penalties certainly helped our cause, but it was a good attacking performance, and the defence held firm as well. Table Spoiler The win takes us back to 12th, and now 9 points clear of the relegation zone. Up next Spoiler Another tough match as we host 7th place Gateshead, who beat us earlier in the season.
Punch
DEC 2029 - Match Day 25 - Vs Gateshead FC Footes Lane - St Peter Port, Guernsey Spoiler Match Report Spoiler A massive upset at The Lane as we hold off the highly fancied Heed to record a huge three points. An early goal put the visitors on the back foot, and they never really recovered. A late sealer confirmed the points, in an impressive all round performance. Table Spoiler Port Vale and Radcliffe put on some show in the TV game, smashing in 10 goals between them to share the points We find ourselves in 10th place, but there are still a lot of teams behind us with games in hand. Punch
DEC 2029 - FA Trophy 3rd Round - Vs Eastbourne Borough FC Footes Lane - St Peter Port, Guernsey Spoiler Match Report Spoiler A tough battle at the Lane as we outlast The Sports to advance to the next round. An early goal gave us the advantage, but we couldn't make the most of it, and they hit back just after the break. Just when it looked like penalties, Docherty stepped off the bench to smash home a winner from outside the box to confirm the win. 4th Round Draw Spoiler We will host Cirencester in the next round, who we have had some close battles with during our time in the National South. Up next Spoiler A tough match to follow up on short rest as we host 2nd place Mansfield.
Punch
DEC 2029 - Match Day 26 - Vs Mansfield Town FC Footes Lane - St Peter Port, Guernsey Spoiler Match Report Spoiler The Stags have been on fire this season, and they played in the same fashion here totally dominating the first half. We played better in the second half, but couldn't find the goal, as the visitors hung onto their lead to take the points. Table Spoiler We drop to 12th, still holding an 8 point lead over the relegation zone. Up next Spoiler A tough match again as we travel to Notts Co to take on the 11th place Magpies, on two days rest.
Punch
DEC 2029 - Match Day 27 - At Notts County FC Meadow Lane - Nottingham Spoiler Match Report Spoiler An early blitz from the Magpies and we never recovered. We did manage to pull a goal back before the break, but we had nothing left in the second half. A monster schedule in the last few months has really taken it's toll on the squad. Table Spoiler We drop to 14th, although still 8 clear of the relegation zone. Up next Spoiler Another short turn around as we host 12th place Radcliffe. Punch
DEC 2029 A rough month as we win two and lose four of our six League games, but we did manage to advance in both Cups. The Analyst is still pretty happy, despite the mixed results. We hold 14th place, with an 8 point break from the relegation zone, but there are a lot of teams that have played less games than us still. Stats Goalkeepers Defenders Midfielders Forwards After being linked with half the vacant jobs in League One & Two last month, The Green Lions decided to offer me a job for another two years as well. A small pay rise, and the Board very happy that I am staying on. Prize Money in the Cups, and gate takings have results in a good profit this month. We bring in the new decade with another 7 game month for an already tired squad, but a lot of players will already be thinking about the biggest game in the clubs history, as we head to the Theatre of Dreams at Old Trafford to take on Man U in the FA Cup 3rd Round.

The one positive is that our defence held firm, despite plenty of pressure from the visitors. Table Spoiler We stay 14th, but lose a point to the relegation zone, now 7 points clear. Up next Spoiler We travel to 10th place Accrington, who we had a draw with earlier in the season.
Hootieleece
Your doing good work more points than games played is the goal when trying to survive a relegation BATTLE. 34 points in 28 matches isn't bad at all. If you were on 56 points I think you would be talking promotion......and the title race. It goes back to my rules of thumb: that 2 points per match will win you the League or Promotion most seasons. 2 more points than matches usually makes you safe from relegation most seasons.

We are not doing too badly really. A little inconsistent, and we are really having some fatigue issues coming through now after a brutal last few months in the schedule. We have some players like Pepe, Alexandrou, Docherty, and Kirkpatrick who are only playing every second game at the moment, but also not a bad thing as it is giving me a chance to get some senior game time for some of the younger kids, and seeing what they are made of. Punch
JAN 2030 - Match Day 29 - At Accrington Stanley FC Wham Stadium - Accrington Spoiler Match Report Spoiler A tough result on many levels as we struggled to make any impact against Stanley. They had an early lead and were controlling the game, made harder when we had a player sent off for a lazy pull of the shirt. They completely controlled the game as we laboured to our 5th straight away loss. A triple blow as we lose the match, a player suspended, and now losing Easter for three weeks. This means he will also miss next weeks match against Man U at Old Trafford. Table Spoiler Winless in four, we drop to 17th, but a 7 point gap still to the relegation zone. Up next Spoiler Back to The Lane as we host 4th place Dorking in a tough match.
Punch
JAN 2030 - Match Day 30 - Vs Dorking Wanderers FC Footes Lane - St Peter Port, Guernsey Spoiler Match Report Spoiler We dominated the first half, even getting out to a 2-0 lead early in the second, but we faded late, conceding two goals to end up sharing the points. Before the game, I would have taken a draw, but this feels like another one that got away, despite the heavily favoured opposition. Table Spoiler Five without a win and we have dropped to 17th, just 5 points clear of the relegation zone. Up next Spoiler One of the biggest days in the clubs history as we make the trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United in the FA Cup 3rd Round. Punch
JAN 2030 - FA Cup 3rd Round - At Manchester United FC Old Trafford - Manchester Spoiler Match Report Spoiler Well beaten, but not embarrassed as The Red Devils put us through the ringer, and to be honest, they should have scored a lot more than 5. Career highlights for Docherty and Cameron, scoring on the famous Theatre of Dreams against Premier League opposition. While we exit in the 3rd Round, we do take with us just over £1 million for our share of the Gate, which will go a long way to funding the club for some time to come. Up next Spoiler Time to regroup and come down from the high of playing in front of nearly 60,000, as we return to League action, traveling to 16th place Oldham.
Punch
JAN 2030 - Match Day 29 / 30 / 31 Table Spoiler While we were on FA Cup duty, a number of League games were played, with results meaning we lost another place to 18th, and now sit only 2 points outside the relegation zone. Hootieleece
Your still outside the relegation zone. Cup runs are often a nuisance when your in-relegation battle. Punch
JAN 2030 - Match Day 31 - Oldham Athletic AFC Boundary Park - Oldham Spoiler Match Report Spoiler A massive result, with a massively rotated squad as we come from behind to upset The Latics. The winner coming late in the second half, the first goal from a Class of 29 member, as Harry Reid smashed home a close range effort. Table Spoiler A first win in 6 games, 7 if you include the FA Cup loss, sends us back up to 15th, and increases our break over the relegation zone to 5 points. Punch
JAN 2030 - FA Trophy 4th Round - Vs Cirencester Town FC Footes Lane - St Peter Port, Guernsey Spoiler Match Report Spoiler We had to come from behind twice to hold off a determined Centurions outfit. As it was, we had to go to penalties to sort this one out, and after missing our first shot, Sejdini then saved their first two shots, and we were able to close it out from there. 5th Round Draw Spoiler We will host Alfreton in the 5th Round. Punch
JAN 2030 - Match Day 32 - Vs Crewe Alexandra FC Footes Lane - St Peter Port, Guernsey Spoiler Match Report Spoiler A massive effort to get something out of this game as we held off a fast finishing Crewe. After a tame first half, the game exploded into life in the second with two goals each, and while both teams probably had chances to win, we will happily take a point from a much bigger team. Table Spoiler We still hold 16th place, with a 6 point gap to the relegation zone. A lot of draws means we keep the points ticking along this season. Up next Spoiler We travel to 19th place Wycombe, which will be important to get a result and keep us away from the relegation zone.
Punch
JAN 2030 - Match Day 31 / 32 Table Spoiler Some further midweek make up matches as teams are still getting around their Cup/Trophy commitments. Poor old Eastleigh are having a rough trot, at one stage they were well ahead of us, with three games in hand, and they have since lost two make up games, and five on the trot, to be just one point ahead, with one game left in hand. Punch
JAN 2030 Another massive month, but the results were pretty disappointing, as we win only one of five League games, but we do advance in the Trophy, while out FA Cup came to an end at Man U. Despite the results, we are still performing above expectations. We currently sit in 16th place, with a 6 point break from the relegation zone. I seen this table in someone else's save and thought it made for interesting reading. I know some people hate the xG stat, but this one shows while we are score more, and conceding less than expected, we are 4 points behind expected, and should be pushing the top 10. Stats Goalkeepers Defenders Midfielders Forwards A massive month financially thanks to the FA Cup game against Man U, but we also got slammed with the tax bill. Another big month coming up, although the game count is coming down. The match against York will be our TV debut in a League match.

Our winner came against the run of play as they were searching for a winner, we were hanging on but our second goal broke their hearts Table Spoiler We jump to 15th place, as we open up an 8 point gap over the relegation zone. Tyrie got us underway, converting a penalty, before young midfielder Jones curled the hosts into a spin, with two very impressive free kicks. Bad news from the game, as we lose Cotterill for most of the rest of the season with a back injury. Despite having a player sent off early, they held the lead at the break. We finally clicked in the second half though as we ran out comfortable winners. Table Spoiler 6 undefeated and 3 straight wins has taken us to 10th place, although there are still teams below us with games in hand. Up next Spoiler We host Alfreton in the FA Trophy 5th Round. Both teams had their chances in the second half, but we managed to limit the damage to one goal, while scoring a second of our own to secure the win. Quarter Final Draw Spoiler We host Alvechurch in the Quarter Final, just one previous meeting, an FA Cup tie from 5 years ago, which we won in a close encounter. Punch
FEB 2030 - Match Day 36 - Vs York City FC Footes Lane - St Peter Port, Guernsey Spoiler Match Report Spoiler An entertaining game for our first ever televised League match as we come from behind to share the points with the Minstermen. The visitors had the running in the first half, taking a 0-2 lead at the break. We mounted a brilliant comeback in the second half, leveling by the hour mark, and probably a little unlucky not to take a winner. A solid crowd went home reasonably happy with our fight back, and the TV audience got to see our fighting spirit for the first time. Table Spoiler Seven unbeaten keeps us in 11th place, 13 points clear of relegation. We are one point short of the magical 50 mark, which is generally considered enough to be safe from relegation. Up next Spoiler A tough finish to the month as we travel to 3rd place Torquay.
Punch
FEB 2030 - Match Day 37 - At Torquay United FC Plainmoor - Torquay Spoiler Match Report Spoiler We took an early lead but couldn't hold on against the high flying Gulls. We held the lead to the break, but they ground us down in the second half, before running over the top of us. Table Spoiler We drop to 12th, and with 9 games to play, we hold an 11 point break from the relegation zone. Up next Spoiler On the road again as we travel to 14th place Boston. Punch
FEB 2030 It was a pretty decent month results wise, winning 3 of 5 Leagues games, and advancing in the Trophy. The number of goals conceded continues to be a concern. The Analyst echoes the concerning number of goals conceded stats. With 9 games to play we sit mid table, which is a pretty impressive result for a team in our first year in the National League. Looking at the teams around us, we have scored a lot more goals, but also conceded a lot more. The xG table suggest we should nearly be pushing for a play off spot, being 2 points behind expected, while our conceded is right, we score a lot more than expected though. Stats Goalkeepers Defenders Midfielders Forwards With the Cups winding down, we are back in the red this month, although the gate receipts are still our biggest earner. A schedule that should enable some legs to be rested to allow our push to the end of the season.
Punch
MAR 2030 - Match Day 38 - At Boston United FC The Community Stadium - Boston Spoiler Match Report Spoiler A while lot of not much to report in this one. The Pilgrims outplayed us for most of the match, but neither side created much in the way of true chances, and the points were shared. Table Spoiler We lost a place to 13th, and also some ground to the relegation zone, now with a 10 point gap. But in good news, with 8 games to play, we have reached the magical 50 point barrier, which generally means safety from relegation. Up next Spoiler Another tough match as we host 9th place Cheltenham on two days rest.

The visitors dominated the match, but our defence held firm, while we struggled going forward, creating very few chances. We looked like we might have done enough to take a point, but a late strike consigned us to a disappointing defeat. Table Spoiler We drop to 14th, syill 10 points clear of the relegation zone, with 7 games to play. Up next Spoiler FA Trophy Quarter Final time as we host Alvechurch. Up 2-0 at the break, we kept the pressure on in the second half, and while they did score late, we then scored again to confirm our place in the Semi Final. Semi Final Draw Spoiler We get Gillingham in the Semi Final, who we have a reasonable record against, looking for a spot in the Final, for the second time. It feels a bit like the IoM save, where we are all over the place defensively in the first season after promotion. Hopefully we can pull it together and get more consistent. The Cup run has been great, although looking at our opponents in the Trophy, we have had a dream draw, and a lot of the bigger clubs have fallen over early this season.
Punch
MAR 2030 - Youth Intake The first class of the new decade arrives, with the preview offering a decent intake, what arrived shows plenty of potential to be excited about. While the star rating system always seems pretty useless, it does give us 10 potential 5* players, along with another couple of decent looking prospects. While the attribute averages look like a mixed bag, there is a 50 point player in there, although his potential is not as high as some of the others. It will be very interesting to see how these develop over the coming seasons. Plenty of dual citizens again, but we also welcome our first from Canada and Romania. The vast majority are still homegrown talents though. The Best 5 Spoiler A really exciting prospect in defence, Kelly already has a lot of decent attributes, with plenty of room for growth. After struggling in the early seasons for goalkeepers, the Academy produces it's third exciting keeper in a row, with a 199cm Belgian monster, who looks like a very exciting prospect. We then have two more very solid looking defenders, so if we can get some of these guys to potential, we have a very solid looking back line in a few years time. Another Belgian to round out the top 5 with an exciting central midfielder. With some work to do to get him to potential, he is another great prospect coming down the line. Overall, enough to be excited about, as the future continues to look good, with a lot of highly rated prospects coming out of the Academy. Now to see if we can get them to their potential. Punch
MAR 2030 - Match Day 40 - At Stevenage FC The Lamex Stadium - Stevenage Spoiler Match Report Spoiler A really disappointing result as we go down at Boro. We always seemed to be chasing the game, going behind early, and then again quickly after leveling in the first half. Despite sustaining some pressure late in the second half, and pulling one goal back, we couldn't do enough to get anything out of the match. Table Spoiler After going 7 undefeated, we have now gone 5 without a win. We drop to 16th, 9 points above relegation with 6 games to play. Up next Spoiler Back to The Lane as we host 15th place South Shields, who beat us earlier in the season.
Punch
MAR 2030 Not a great month League wise as we took only one point from nine, we did advance in the Trophy though. Hopefully this month rested some weary legs for a big push toward the end of the season. The Analyst report is as expected, too many mistakes, and we have been getting punished for them at this level. 9 points from relegation, with 6 games to play. The xG table always tells a very different story, which would have us pushing for top 10 rather than looking nervously over our shoulder. Stats Goalkeepers Defenders Midfielders Forwards Fewer games means less game day income, seeing us take a decent hit financially this month. Five of our remaining six games to be played this month, along with a Trophy semi final.
Punch
APR 2030 - Match Day 41 - Vs South Shields FC Footes Lane - St Peter Port, Guernsey Spoiler Match Report Spoiler A much improved defensive effort as we keep our first clean sheet for three months. We didn't offer a lot in attack, but we did take our chance when we received a penalty just before half time. That proved to be the difference and was enough for us to secure the three points. Table Spoiler Just the teams still involved in the FA Trophy playing today, and our first win in 6 games, takes us to 12th. Up next Spoiler Another shot at Wembley awaits as we host Gillingham in the FA Trophy Semi Final.
Punch
APR 2030 - FA Trophy Semi Final - Vs Gillingham FC Footes Lane - St Peter Port, Guernsey Spoiler Match Report Spoiler A record crowd piled into The Lane to witness us cause an upset over the highly fancied Gills outfit. The visitors dominated the match, and while we struggled to contain them, they simply couldn't hit the target. For our part, we didn't create many chances, but pounced on their defensive errors to score both of our goals. I guess it doesn't matter in the end, but we got them, and they didn't, sending us to our second FA Trophy Final in three years. Final Draw Spoiler We meet Rochdale in the Final. We beat them two years ago to reach the Final, where we would go on to lose on penalties to Hartlepool. Up next Spoiler A return to League action, with a preview of the FA Trophy Final as we travel to 4th place Rochdale.
Punch
APR 2030 - Match Day 41 Table Spoiler While we were on Trophy duty, the rest of the League played their match day 41 fixtures. The results see us drop back to 13th, but we are 12 points clear of the relegation zone with 5 games to play. Not yet mathematically safe, but all almost. Punch
APR 2030 - Match Day 42 - Rochdale AFC Crown Oil Arena - Rochdale Spoiler Match Report Spoiler An entertaining match, but we came out on the wrong end of a five goal thriller against The Dale. The hosts had a good lead at the break, and while we were able to pull one back, we had given them to big a head start. We'll need a much improved performance against them if we want to lift a Trophy. Table Spoiler We drop to 15th place, but with 4 games to play, we are 12 points above the relegation zone, which means at worst, we should be safe on goal difference, should we not gain any further points. While at the top end of town, Mansfield are going back to the Football League, as they are confirmed as Champions. Up next Spoiler A short turn around before we host 10th place Eastleigh. Punch
APR 2030 - Match Day 43 - Vs Eastleigh FC Footes Lane - St Peter Port, Guernsey Spoiler Match Report Spoiler A tight battle at The Lane as we managed to come from behind to rescue a point against the Spitfires. Despite taking the lead, we found ourselves behind at half time. We kept coming at them though and were rewarded with an equaliser, but neither side could find a winner. Table Spoiler While it was all but confirmed, it's now mathematically confirmed the we have avoided relegation with 3 games to play. Poor Port Vale, who were in League One a few years ago, have continued their massive plunge, as they are the first team relegated, and will be in the 6th their next season. Up next Spoiler We travel to the relegation battling Dag & Red.
Hootieleece
Great Job! Surviving in the league is important. As for Rochdale in the Trophy Final. Can you change it up tactically? I played a Balanced Mentality and Early Crosses (with a good heading team) to win the FA Cup. Instead of Positive and Work the ball in the box.

Attacking wise we are pretty solid, I think the bigger challenge will be cutting out the defensive lapses that have been letting us down all season. If we have a good day in that regard, we are a good chance, if we have an off day, we could get belted.

Punch
APR 2030 We put in a pretty good month, keeping four clean sheets, in four wins, but when we concede, we concede plenty. The Analyst is happy enough, although we concede too much. We sit 14th with one game to play, and the last day has a big impact at both ends of the table. The xG suggests we should be in the Top 10, but we are also scoring more, and conceding less than expected. Stats Goalkeepers Defenders Midfielders Forwards A good season financially has us well set up for the future. We have one final League game before the massive day at Wembley. I will probably put some friendlies in the break to keep the legs fresh.
