“Tackle harder” option too many cards

I’ve noticed over the past 2 or 3 football manager games that the tackle harder option just essentially guarantees your team get a ridiculous amount of cards. I’m averaging about 5 cards a game at the minute which to me is fairly unrealistic. Fullbacks finish the season on near 20 bookings each. I like the option on as I think it works well with a gegenpress tactic and makes the tactic feel more realistic. I’m just wondering has anyone else noticed this as well?
