Motlhen
Starting from the 10th tier in England, my aim is to be as successful as possible by using only players born in Enfield. Why Enfield? 1. It's my hometown. 2. There are 4 eligible clubs to help us on the way! 3. It's one of the biggest City's without a big team in the country. Reasons for v2: - Avoidable financial mistakes were made early on in the save. - Too many loaded leagues started to slow the game down massively. - Heightened awareness of the importance of clinging on to players. - I was playing the game on Instant Result rather than enjoying the matches! Enfield There are four teams in the borough and I will be starting at Enfield Borough down in tier 10. Motlhen
I've adjusted the skin attribute colours to account for tier 10 level footballers: Away from managing Enfield Borough directly, I'll also be keeping an eye on each of these season-by-season for players born in Enfield: Best XI International Caps Player Transfers Staff Movements Players from Youth Intakes Before I kick off, I can check the top 2 on this list. Motlhen
Best XI These guys are currently the best the region has produced. We aspire to reach their great heights! Motlhen
Internationals Jake Livermore and his 7 England caps make him the most famous player to come from the region. But Roy Chipolina has played a whopping 60 times for Gibraltar, also getting a couple of goals and Kilkenny has turned out 15 times for the Ozzy's. All 3 players are at the end of their career and, of the Enfieldians, only Daniel Phillips looks like he could potentially get a healthy number of caps for his country. Motlhen
Welcome to Enfield Borough FC Squad We have players who can play in every position and there are more than 11 of them. I'm seeing that as a win. Staff We can treat injuries but beyond that it's pretty much up to the players to organise themselves. ..until I figure out what I'm doing.. Motlhen
Meet the Squad We've got an intra-squad friendly so let's look at the players in a bit more depth. (As I've sacked all my non-Enfield-born staff, I've lost their star ratings) GK He's not big, he's not brave, he'll probably keel over if he has to run further than the edge of his box.. BUT he is a goalkeeper so Francis is our number 1. DR Tackling & crossing are his "strengths". He can run for a while, just not very fast but he is aggressive, brave & determined. DL A left-back with great technique! DC's These guys can jump and are strong.Odhiambo is the one more comfortable with the ball and the less Lansbury has the ball at his feet, the better. DMHowes will be a rock in midfield! He can't move much but he'll win a tackle if you come near him. MC's Okay these guys might actually play some football.Kennedy has a bit of everything and will be our BBM, whilst winger-come-centre-mid Khouri should help him pull the strings. AMR Inside forward Morris has good pace & acceleration for this level, combining that with good balance, natural fitness and a bit of dribbling & agility I'm hoping he can prove a constant threat down the flank. AML Another inside forward, Hartigan could cause a lot of trouble with his jumping reach. STThorn will lead the line as our fast pressing forward. He has lots of flair and is very good technically at all so you really have no idea what he's going to do next. Subs If you don't get into this first team, you're pretty bad and this lot are terrible. Despite all the snarky remarks, I'm sure I'll fall in love with some of these players very soon!
Motlhen
Intra-Squad Friendly 9 goals and a red card!? I knew it was going to be a chaotic game when I told the squad my preferred starting XI and they ignored me & chose which team to be on between themselves (the game wasn't letting me choose). Motlhen
Transfer In He can head, he can pass and he's really fast! Our best player is now a striker with 3 finishing.
Motlhen
Staff Addition We've signed an Assistant Manager from Enfield. He'll provide an invaluable 2nd opinion & go to all of the media/press conferences. Thanks Chris!
Motlhen
Loans In We've found a brilliant first choice right back. (I'm already saying "brilliant" at a player with no technical attribute above a 7) & a decent centre-mid that the fans hate for some reason. I'm very happy to have another option at DM! Motlhen
Loans In A couple more loans means we now have 22 players! A whole backup XI. &
Motlhen
Captain & Vice Transfer Overview Squad We're only missing a backup goalkeeper, but this is our first XI and backups as we head towards the first competitive fixture. The star ratings show just how much better my AssMan thinks our new signings are in comparison to the rest of the squad. Friendlies Our GK has been busy. We are definitely weakest in defence so the aim of the game is going to be to outscore our opponents.
Motlhen
Staff Addition We've found another Enfield-born staff member! He was willing to be a coach and a scout, which is great as we had neither.
Motlhen
Updated Odds We've improved our odds 5x with the new signings! Our first game is against Park View. Game 1 35 people saw us dominate our opening game! The fans seem to have something against Fjord. After being distraught that we signed him on loan (for absolutely free), they made their feelings known at how bad they thought he performed (6.7 in the 20mins he was on the field).
Motlhen
Aug 2022 We continued our good start against Cannon Wood in an even game where we were the ones who took our chances. We were absent the whole game against Newbury and were lucky that they didn't play very well either otherwise it could've been a much more damning scoreline. Then Hartigan continued this standout performances with a brace to help us beat Sporting Bengal after they got a first half red card. We should've putthis game beyond doubt after an early Khouri goal. The last few moments were pretty tense but we survived to make it through to the next round. theBlackPrince
Love these type of saves, adds a little more to the youth only style by adding extremely limited transfers/loans available! Having another few clubs in Enfield will help in the future, if you can help them improve also!
Motlhen
Sep 2022 We lost against the two unbeaten sides in our division which I'm not too disappointed about. I was way more upset at throwing away a 2-0 lead at Barkingside. One positive in Melford-Rowe finding some good scoring form early on in the season. Next up is a tough away game in the cup to another high-flying 10th tier team. Axminster are 2nd in their league, only losing 1 so far this season. Motlhen
Transfers In A huge signing for us is a new first choice keeper who is young and could be key for the next few seasons! We've also added another loanee from Cockfosters who looks like he could be a solid squad player.
Motlhen
A rough start for our new signing in goal as we crash out of the cup.
Motlhen
Okay so our new goalkeeper who I thought was going to be a star player has conceded 12 goals in his first 3 games including some absolute howlers. Things aren't going as smoothly as I'd hoped. Transfers In I looked again to the transfer market to try to improve the squad and some new players have shown interest in joining. I'm very happy to sign both Afolabi & Grace who will feature in midfield, an area we were very weak and lacked depth. We also managed to take over Wisner's loan as he wasn't happy with his playing time at Blackstones. With all the new signings, this is how we are lining up when everyone is available. If the keeper doesn't improve quickly, he will be dropped!
Motlhen
Oct 2022 We got back to winning ways in style. New signing Afolabi grabbed two goals from midfield. Now we need to show we can keep this up to push back towards the promotion spots.

theBlackPrince
That's a decent return to form after some heavy defeats. Those goalkeeper howlers at this level I swear are here to test us, just criminally bad!!

Motlhen
Nov 2022 It's been a busy month! We lost our DM Grace to a nasty injury. Loan terminated Transfers In Mace has already played for 2 clubs this season so is ineligible until next campaign, but both he & loanee Sackey-Mensah improve our strength at wing backs. We also managed to sign another very decent midfielder in Stewart.
Motlhen
After conceding 22 goals in his first 9 games, Foxall finally managed to keep a clean sheet in a statement win against another promotion hopeful!
Motlhen
Dec 2022 We've continue to stay unbeaten and we've won some games in style! Motlhen
Jan 2023 We are still keeping up this unbeaten run, including an epic against Benfleet who have only lost 1 game all season. We were so so close to taking all 3 points. Edited February 17, 2023 by Motlhen
Motlhen
Feb 2023 A perfect month! We are conceding a lot of goals, but I mentioned that our plan was going to be to outscore our opponents at the beginning of the season, and that's what we're doing now. The game against Barkingside was another classic!!! They thought they'd won it with a 90th minute penalty only for us to not only peg level but also grab a winner in injury time. Motlhen
Transfer In We've managed to sign a really strong striker which has given me a massive selection headache.Melford-Rose has been in incredible form and has 35 goals in 30 games so far this season. But now he has some competition.
Motlhen
Mar 2023 Another perfect month! Benfleet have been incredible all season and are deserved champions. Motlhen
Youth Intake Only 7 of the intake were from Enfield and no one is outstanding.Carlile is probably the one to keep an eye on, especially with a Professional personality. Motlhen
Season Review 2022/23 League We took some time to improve the squad and stormed up from mid-table to 2nd. It wasn't enough to catch Benfleet for the automatic promotion spot and we didn't have enough left in the promotion playoffs so we'll face another season at this level. FA Vase We didn't do very well in the cup. We need to improve to gain some income from the prize money! Transfers We continually improved the squad over the course of the season so we will start in a much better position next term. I didn't document it prior to here, but we also released & sold all non-Enfield born players that were at the club when I arrived. Finances We lost a lot of money initially by terminating non-Enfield born staff contracts, then it was a steady decline as the income and attendances at this level are so low. Squad Melford-Rowe led the line with 39 goals in 37 appearances, an incredible season for him! But Wainwright, Hartigan & Morris were all equally as important to our success (as well as Winser when he was fit!)Sackey-Mensah & Grace didn't live up to the expectations we had for them though. There's still room to improve, but I am happy with the squad going into next season.
Motlhen
Other Enfield Clubs Tier 7 Enfield Town had an agonising season. Way ahead of the league for most of the campaign, a late capitulation saw them drop out of the promotion race altogether and Leese was sacked as a result. Their 4 Enfield-born players Tier 9 Enfield FC had an utterly dominant season. They finished as treble winners after winning two cups as well. They only lost in the FA Cup & in January, after an incredible 23-game winning run. Unfortunately, they don't have any Enfield-born players at their club. Cockfosters had a good season. They were close to the top positions, but not very close by points. The top 2 ran away with it, finishing 20 points ahead of the rest of the pack.Cockfosters battled to be the best of the rest and ended up finishing in a respectable 4th. Manly was on loan with us. The rest of the Enfield-born players performed well below par, especially considering the good season the team had!

It'll be interesting to see how long Orient can keep hold of him. Only 28, including the 7 that came through our ranks. This low number is going to make it pretty tough and puts an emphasis on pushing for facility improvements asap!

Staff In Captains Odds Squad First & Second XI Board Expectations My Expectations We've got to feel like we can go up as champions this season. Motlhen
Oct 2023 Loans In & Losing 3 in a row without scoring was hard to take. Neither striker could get a goal despite our dominance and every game their goals came against the run of play. After the Moulton result I was hoping we could get back to winning ways, but we only just about avoided a replica 1-0 defeat thanks to a late Morris goal. We're not playing as well as we know we can!
