VfB Stuttgart vs Borussia Dortmund Our old problem returns. Surely a nice match to watch for the neutrals. And the BVB fans. FC Schalke 04 vs VfB Stuttgart When scoring a brace isn´t enough. Zalazar played so good he is on our shortlist now. VfB Stuttgart vs Manchester City No. I won´t even try to explain this result. No one can. Spoiler Maybe the left-footed players were their downfall. VfB Stuttgart vs Greuther Furth Greuther Furth isn´t what you would call a "big club". Still, a good performance by us. VfB Stuttgart vs Fortuna Dusseldorf Seven goals in the first half! AC Milan vs VfB Stuttgart Back to normal results in Europe again. VfB Stuttgart vs Eintracht Frankfurt This could be one of the most important wins of the season. RB Leipzig vs VfB Stuttgart Goals galore again but this time we are on the losing end. Ludogorets Razgrad vs VfB Stuttgart Going into the lead early on helped a lot and a counter in stoppage time sealed their fate. Those are the must-wins in the CL. VfB Stuttgart vs FC Augsburg Crazy nine minutes against our rivals and that was all. THE BUNDESLIGA TABLE 10 points behind Bayern already. VfB Stuttgart vs Real Sociedad San Sebastian We have our revenge on Real Sociedad! This secured qualification for the next Champions League round! VfB Stuttgart vs VfL Wolfsburg A lucky win, but our courage late in the game paid off. Hannover 96 vs VfB Stuttgart A very boring game. We take the point. VfB Stuttgart vs FC Bayern Munich Bayern thought they could shock us by countering our early lead. Instead we then countered THEIR lead and then they got a deserved red card. A wonderful game! TSG Hoffenheim vs VfB Stuttgart A tough derby. But we scored one more. Real Madrid vs VfB Stuttgart A very respectable result. It was clear that we would not win much there but still we did a good job. VfB Stuttgart vs Borussia Monchengladbach Our legs were tired and we had to rest some first-teamers and still won. VfB Stuttgart vs Benfica This wonderful win secured our place in the last 16 of the Champions League! Hertha BSC Berlin vs VfB Stuttgart We can´t win every game and this time efficiency was on their side. We tried to force it but only collected yellow cards. THE BUNDESLIGA TABLE As Bayern is slowing down, its a title race once again suddenly. THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PHASE Here we are, among the best in Europe. SC Freiburg vs VfB Stuttgart A nice win on a rainy wednesday evening at our rivals. We will meet Dortmund at home in the semis. 1.FC Koln vs VfB Stuttgart Botheim with a brace in a close game. Luckily we woke up after the half time break. VfB Stuttgart vs Bayer Leverkusen I don´t know how but Leverkusen always know how to exploit our weaknesses. Once more. Borussia Dortmund vs VfB Stuttgart Moukoko shows why he is a wonderkid. We only had fouls to counter it. VfB Stuttgart vs FC Schalke 04 Back to our winning ways finally. This was important! Internazionale vs VfB Stuttgart 2 penalties, one for us. This leaves us in a good position for the 2nd leg. Greuther Furth vs VfB Stuttgart Furth is more and more becoming one of our favorite teams. VfB Stuttgart vs Internazionale We did it! We defeated Inter over 2 legs and make it to the quarter finals. We will play Atletico Madrid there. It doesn´t get easier. VfB Stuttgart vs 1.FC Nurnberg A lucky win. The lads are getting tired and we are missing more and more injured players. Eintracht Frankfurt vs VfB Stuttgart Eintracht are strong and we get to feel it once more. THE BUNDESLIGA TABLE Now Leipzig and Dortmund are contenders too. SC Freiburg vs VfB Stuttgart Freiburg was solid as a rock. We could not get more than a draw. Atletico Madrid vs VfB Stuttgart They dominated us. It took a while for them to take the lead but from then on we were doomed. VfB Stuttgart vs Werder Bremen Look who scored! Muriel scoring his first goal this season! He will retire soon, btw. Carambau Posted April 8, 2023 Author Share Posted April 8, 2023 (edited) FEARLESS AND FAITHFUL 2025/26 Season Summery Happy we could reassure Dennis Seimen that we are a club on the rise by reaching the Champions League quarter finals, so he no longer wants to leave. And he had a great season. All eyes on new signing Dino Guldener who won the best U19 Player award, and rightly so. He has improved massively this season. Veteran Marten de Roon provided solid experience in central midfield and fellow new signing Ferran Jutgla scored quite some goals and assisted on many as well. Our defensive record improved: We "only" conceded 51 goals this season in the league so there is hope. We also scored the most goals, 85. Erik Botheim scored 18 of those goals and 28 goals altogether which made him our topscorer this season. Roony made the most assists with 22 and also recorded the highest average rating with 7.38. Carles Alena did not play as many games as he used to but still managed to clock impressive 19 assists. The biggest disappointment this season has been Luis Muriel. From winning the Bundesliga Topscorer award last season to only scoring 3 goals this season. He is going to retire after this season anyway. There will be some changes for next season as quite some players will have to leave as we will bring in new fresh talents to replace them. THE YOUTH TEAMS VfB Stuttgart II got promoted to the 3. Liga this season. They were up there right from the start and never in danger of not getting promoted. Good luck next season, lads. This squad is not going to get better though, I fear. VfB Stuttgart U19 only finished 7th in their league and lost in the 1st round of the DFB Pokal der Junioren to Mainz 05 U19s. They also did not make it to the knockout rounds of the UEFA Youth League. There is much work to be done here for next season. THE EUROPEAN CUP WINNERS Champions League Real Madrid back at the top. Europa League A lucky win for Liverpool. UEFA Conference League The Europa League final from 2 years ago. Only this time AS Roma wins. He was happy to leave. Kovalenko was a good player but we are packed in midfield now. DiBenedetto needs match practice. Vina wanted to leave so we let him go, same with Kastenmaier. Transfer flop Zito got loaned out again. Lots of new players! Christensen is our new backup keeper. He already played for the Danish U19 team. Dragusin is a solid central defender to bolster this position. Zeze is also a CD but with his quality he should go right into the first team. Lensch is another central defender but he is only 18 and still has to learn a lot. Borset is a left wing back, has 11 caps for Norway already, and will be the backup and future replacement of Aude. Mack covers Guldener on the right back position. Frattesi and Moriba are top quality central midfielders. Ibrahimovic is a talented your right winger. Zetterer will be our 3rd keeper and young left winger Simon got loaned out this season to get match practice. THE TEAM ANALYSIS Goalkeepers No big surprises here. Seimen remains our number one. Christensen got bags of talent and should develop alongside him, providing backup. Zetterer is experienced, thats it. Defenders Fresh competition for the central defender places! This can only be beneficial in the long term. Zagadou, Pfeiffer, Zeze and Dragusin will battle it out. Lensch and Mack will surely not be getting that many games, but will learn and get mentored by the older players. Aude feels Borset breathing in his neck. Guldener is safe. For now. Midfielders Frattesi and Moriba will shake it up here. Braunoder and Alena will have to fight hard to stay in the team. On the wings Ibrahimovic brings new options as he can play on both wings. DeRoon will probably play his last season for us. Attackers Look who is back from loan! Popovic has finally joined our team. And he brings quality. Jutgla and Botheim provide some nice competition. THE PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES Goals Galore! THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DRAW At least some more "minor" opponents this time. The 4th tier club fought hard until the last minute of extra time. The lads have to gel as a team. VfB Stuttgart vs Hertha BSC Berlin Brave Hertha deserved a point. Kehrer had a fantastic game for them. SC Freiburg vs VfB Stuttgart Bad news for Moriba: He will be out for a month. A brace by Robert Wagner secured a point for our rivals. Bayer Leverkusen vs VfB Stuttgart Finally we were able to defeat our bogey team! Their wingers did nothing against us and so we cruised to the win thanks to 2 braces. VfB Stuttgart vs Borussia Dortmund We took an early lead and looked comfortable. Then Joao Pedro came on and changed the game for them, rescueing a point. VfB Stuttgart vs Glasgow Rangers The game keeps surprising me. Somehow everything worked today and we scored TWELVE goals. Don´t ask me. Just behold and enjoy. Union Berlin vs VfB Stuttgart "Ich bin kein Berliner!" A comfortable win against in Berlin. Hertha BSC Berlin vs VfB Stuttgart Shut the game up after 15 minutes already. Goodbye, Berlin. A couragous performance which was never in doubt, even after we were down to 10 men. We rewarded ourselves very late in the game. But 3 points are 3 points. The minnows gave us a good fight but our win was never in question. We really found a nice balance now between attack and defence and it shows. The once mighty cauldron in Belgrade did not scare us. Two minutes were enough to secure our victory. Phew! Knock on wood as we secure a crucial win in the dying minutes with only 10 men! A victory of Force! The result is too harsh. Two goals in stoppage time make it look like we were all over them but we were not. THE BUNDESLIGA TABLE We won all our games but Bayern still are ahead of us. We manage to score 2 in the first 10 minutes. And that´s it. We take the deserved lead after 91 minutes and think it´s all over. But then we get FM´d hard by our rivals. **** happens I guess. A good win for us. They don´t have Osimhen anymore after all... Gladbach are my favorite team in this save. We almost always win against them Damn! We were so close to snatching a point! But then came Morata... Back to our winning ways with a concentrated performance. Well done, lads! THE BUNDESLIGA TABLE One point seperates us. Dortmund seem out of the title race. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PHASE Aaand we qualified. THE YOUTH TEAMS VfB Stuttgart II VfB Stuttgart U19 CLUB NEWS We needed more competition in central midfield and signed Rodrigo Salazar from Schalke for 9M. When it "clicks" it "clicks" and everything comes together. Here comes the anti-climax! The result does not display what happened on the pitch. We were awful. But we were at least efficient. Another disappointment. We just could not score more than one goal. Jutgla is having his 2nd coming at the moment. He won us the game. There was no better moment for that important win! We could not cope with the sheer pace of Sterling and his gang. A good response from us and a must-win. Our hope lasted for exactly 28 minutes. Still, we go out with our heads held high. Jutgla again made our game. We only just edged it. I like those games against Dusseldorf. We always win. THE BUNDESLIGA TABLE Still 4 points. 6 games left to play. The kicked Popovic until he had to go off. Then they scored their goals. They got Talles Magno. We got Roony. We won. An easy game for a change. We could take it slowly after 30 minutes already. A hard-fought semi final against our rivals. A comfortable lead at half time and we are in the final against Schalke! Beautiful football and we score and score. THE BUNDESLIGA TABLE 4 points, 2 games. It´s not impossible but the chances are small for us. I made the priority decision: I rested some of the key players for the cup final. We paid for it of course. The final before the final. A good omen. See you next week! We won the DFB Pokal again. Some more silverware for our trophy room. THE BUNDESLIGA TABLE And thats the season for you. We finished 2nd again and Bayer Leverkusen got relegated. What a time to be alive.
