Man City are always infinitely dangerous even when playing 3 goals down and so it proves, as they somehow level the tie on aggregate

Just when it looks like we are going out, Vlahovic scores in ET to give us the win. Rieder makes his first significant contribution in the CL.

Meanwhile at home, Napoli have managed to keep things interesting going into the final month

We should do it from here, although it will be incredibly harsh for them to score 90+ points and not win the title

Some run in the UCL! Who has the harder run in for the Scudetto?

Cheers - we will be fine we have Brianza (Monza), Brescia, Bologna and Cagliari. So it's an easy end to the season.

The points dropped have also all been in games around CL knockouts due to squad rotation.

Hopefully you will end your final hoodoo this time! Going to stick my neck on the line and predict Rieder to have a big hand in the winning goal - it’s written in the stars!

Interesting prediction!

First things first, we did retain the Serie A, though we neither went invincible nor reached the 100 point mark.

The team of the year is dominated by the "Bianconeri" - although a bit surprised to see Fagioli in at DM

Maybe not! It's that man Fabian Rieder with only his 2nd goal for the club, but what an absolutely massive one it is! Baldanzi with the cut back from the RW position, as mentioned he's been an absolute revelation since moving there. And actually Rieder was the reason we even tried him out there in the first place.

The final match stats - ultimately a well deserved victory

statsss.jpg.56c83034e2e411ff6235b2bc88f3e58d.jpg

This save really has come full circle with

(i) winning a European final on the 4th attempt

(ii) Fabian Rieder scoring the winner after re-uniting with Bumbercatch at his 3rd club running @SixPointer

(iii) getting one over Liverpool finally after countless defeats with Brighton and that heart-breaking Europa final

Many congratulations on the Serie A and Champions League successes. Rieder is to Moe what Akor Adams is to me :)

This seems like a good opportunity to show off some of the best players who have carried Juventus to the Champions League title.

I'll divide the posts into "real" and "new-gen" players.

20230703113828_1.jpg.55433cec699c45b361a46abadd0c0065.jpg

Vlahovic is the main man, a truly elite striker in the game. He has indeed won the European golden shoe two seasons in a row.

20230703113358_1.jpg.ecbd40415a57bd76516014862bbd647e.jpg

Scalvini as predicted turned out to be a very solid signing, an elite center back

Pellegrini effectively came in and plugged our holes on the left side of the defense

Rieds as I like to call him - THE player of this save. Followed Moe to 3 different clubs. A genuinely world class operator. Massive talent.

Baldanzi came into his own this season after moving to the right flank and playing as an inverted winger. Ended well into double figures for goals and assists.

Moise Kean used to be shipped out on loan but we brought him back and he really excelled back at the club covering well for Vlahovic and scoring 20+ goals each season

And now for the "wonderkids" :D

20230703113818_1.jpg.99edfff63a29c3ae300fc9bea5d48a77.jpg

Matteo Rizzi is a genuinely world class winger who has come through the youth system at Juve and came into his own during our two seasons at the club. Sadly he is kicking up a fuss about moving to PSG but is contracted till 2032.

20230703113403_1.jpg.4d80f5559c96c5570d3e7428979f3c24.jpg

Miladinovic was the biggest signing that Moe made at Juve (until Rieder) and after a slow start he with time really developed into a quality defender and nailed down the RB spot in the team.

20230703113812_1.jpg.32b74e03d2b3043bf1cd12ef4a6aa883.jpg

Gustavo Martinez was a cheap signing from Uruguay who has also become an elite midfielder in Turin, had a bit of a slow first season but became the main playmaker for the team this season with some beautiful assists. He also played a key role for Uruguay in their Copa America win.

20230703113351_1.jpg.0655fe2e0a41fa1e2dd9128dd60e17b7.jpg

Finally Victoria was the first signing for Moe at Juve after he had been heavily scouted already at Brighton. He too has developed into a world class operator in Turin and is ready to take over from Bremer for the future.

So in game, I played out another couple of months till the Club World Cup 2029 which we had qualified for. Unfortunately we could not win this one, losing to Man City in the semi final. After that:

Moe decided to call it quits on his time in Turin. After winning the Champions League and Serie A, there was nothing left to achieve here.

Also an interesting opportunity had opened up...

This is it, the club of his (and my) dreams. Manchester United. The biggest club in the world (arguably).

And this is where we are going to leave this safe, at least for the time being.

From a gaming point of view, it's been my longest save so far, playing 7 seasons and getting to the summer of 2029. Also I generally don't really enjoy managing big clubs, so while it's been fun so far there is the itch to go back to a club on a shoestring budget and try to find African wonderkids for 100k.

In some ways, it feels a little bit strange but also perfect to leave the save when taking over at Manchester United. That's the pinnacle for Moe Bumbercatch. After this, there will be no temptation to move anywhere else for the journeyman, assuming of course he succeeds. So I think, we will leave the rest to the imagination.

Thank you to everyone who followed, read, and commented.

Surprising to see you end your journey there, although it does make sense from a narrative point of view the way you presented it. What's next for you?

Cheers - I am joining a recent trend on the forums and off to the Netherlands. About to create a fresh thread.

A romantic ending - the club of your dreams after an excellent journeyman career. Will be happy to follow the next one.
