stockwellpete
At the moment when the ball goes out for a corner the referee blows his/her whistle to indicate a corner kick. Unfortunately, in the game, the whistle is always blown slightly prematurely and sometimes I think that a penalty has been given instead (I'm a bit daft!). But then I was thinking - do referees actually blow their whistle in real life to indicate a corner? I am not sure that they do. If the lino is over that side of the pitch then they will point their flag at the corner post and stand right by it so everyone knows it is a corner. On the other side of the pitch the referee will point towards the corner flag. The referee will only blow their whistle if players are still competing for the ball when it has already gone out of play. I am about 80% certain of what I am saying. Maybe the premature whistling could be removed?
