Motlhen
I'm playing on FM23, but the prospect of one continuous FM save throughout the editions has reinvigorated my love for the game! I'm hoping to play through the summer until FM24 comes out & continue this save into the new game. I've loaded all out-of-the-box leagues as view-only, with the following leagues as playable: Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Malaysia & England. These leagues have been chosen as they contain the lowest reputable (& playable) divisions in the game: My aim is to first take over a club promoted into Wales' 2nd tier and win the league with them. If I manage that, I will look for a new job, hopefully a newly promoted side in Northern Ireland's 3rd tier (but could be subject to available jobs at the time) and attempt to win that league too. And so on. If I make it back to a country for a 2nd time, I will always start in the lowest tier possible. This will mean I bounce around a lot if I'm successful but could end up with some long stints at clubs if I'm really successful (or I'm really not successful). Time to look for a job! Motlhen
The first country I'm aiming to manage in is Wales and the job hunt is on! Edited July 7, 2023 by Motlhen
Motlhen
Formed in 2020 as a phoenix club from 08/09 Welsh champions Rhyl FC, the Lilywhites have just been promoted to the 2nd tier for the first time. One "rule" I have is that I must be the most paid person at the club. So no player (or staff) will be signed with a wage or appearance fee equal or above £150pw. There's been a mass exodus after last season with only 10 players and no staff remaining at the club. Edited July 10, 2023 by Motlhen
Motlhen
With the help of our new assistant manager, we've managed to pick out 4 standout players at the club. I want to ensure we keep Alfie Jones at the club, despite interest from elsewhere, as we are required to have 2x under-18 players in the league's matchday squad. Motlhen
Transfers In We almost needed a whole new team, so it's been busy leading up to the first game of the season, but we have a much better, full squad now.

Motlhen
Jul 2023 A mixed set of results in pre-season. Our first competitive fixture saw us pegged back to a draw in the 95th minute after a scrappy, even game. Edited July 9, 2023 by Motlhen
Motlhen
Aug 2023 Transfer In Another solid midfielder comes in to strengthen our Box-to-Box & Carrilero positions. Transfer Out We've lost our starting right-back to Mumbles. Fixtures Unless you count the disappointing penalty loss to Ammanford, we're unbeaten and I'm happy with how we're playing, especially against Premier league outfit Bala. Motlhen
Sep 2023 Transfers Out We've had an outflux this month, but Harry Lee is the only starter we've lost. The rest were only backup players, but our squad is getting quite thin. & we're also going to lose our best-rated player Matras. He only joined a few months ago and will be with us until February, but I'm not too down-hearted because he's been in pretty poor form so far. Transfer In Fixtures We're still unbeaten in the league, but we've crashed out of all 3 cup competitions already. Awards Finances
Motlhen
Oct 2023 Transfers In With our backup 'keeper leaving on a free to Hawarden and our first choice kicking up a fuss about my team talks, I panic-bought two new backup's who I hope never have to feature in the first team. I've also brought in a veteran who can play in a number of positions (but definitely not centre-back). Fixtures Our unbeaten run is over after a drab loss, followed by an epic which we lost in the 89th minute. Back to winning ways against Buckley and we find ourselves in a tight space in 6th with a point gap to either 2nd or 12th. Rikulec
Matras comes from my hometown, I even played a few games with him several years ago. Funny to see him end up where he did, his dad used to claim he was going to be the next big thing. Hopefully you can do better with your save, good luck! Motlhen
Nov 2023 Transfer In None of our strikers have hit a good vein of form, so I've loaned in Dugan to hopefully change that! Fixtures We are on a pretty bad run - it seems we've completely forgotten how to defend. Whilst this is hugely encouraging, losing one of our starting XI during this poor run wasn't helpful. abulezz
Dugan got some quickness on him, that will help alot.
Motlhen
Dec 2023 Transfers In I've signed an athlete who can't play football, although he somehow had 5 goals in 6 games in our division. I'm going to see if he can be utilised as a super sub at the end of a game where he can out-run tired legs. Lanceley is another attacker, but I'm hoping to use him more on the right wing. \ This is the current state of the squad with all the ins & outs this season. Fixtures Things have not improved much and we're in trouble, way below expectations. Finances
Motlhen
The board are really not happy with me; they're unhappy with our backup goalies recent performances. But he hasn't played for the first team once!?
Motlhen
Jan 2024 I switched up our tactics after the 4-1 loss and we've got back-to-back wins that help us out of the relegation zone. The board are happier too and aren't making up excuses to get rid of me anymore. Edited July 16, 2023 by Motlhen
Motlhen
Feb 2024 Transfer Out We saw the last of Matras as he was not granted a work permit. He never quite lived up to his ability on the left wing. Transfer In Released by Holywell, we've picked up a decent young, backup goalkeeper. I've completed my first coaching badge. Fixtures We've not lost in 5 now and after the terrible run we were on I am very pleased to see a 5 point gap between us and the drop as we approach the end of the season. Motlhen
Youth Intake We have a pretty decent defender, but beyond Skyrme there's not much else to get excited about.
Motlhen
Mar 2024 Transfers In I've kept up with the signings to make sure we have a bit stronger depth for now & next season. Fixtures A bad loss against Llanidloes turned out to just be a hiccup as we get up to mid-table and put distance between where we were halfway through the season. Motlhen
Apr 2024 We finished with a mixed set of results at the end of a mixed season. We didn't score in our final two games, but we went toe-to-toe with the top two teams in the division which bodes well for next season. There's a lot of positives from the end to this season, with Hesp & Smith's additions being the real turning point for us. We have a bunch of retiree's, all of our players are on non-contract and could leave at any point and I have been given double the wage budget to improve the squad with so it could be a completely new look team after the summer. Finances
Motlhen
I've been given a new contract at £200pw (up from £150) and as part of the self-imposed rules on this save, this will now allow me to offer to players up to £190 in appearance fees (rather than £140).

Motlhen
Jul 2024 Transfers In We managed to sneak a few more transfers in before the start of the season. Pre-Season Odds We're expected to do a lot better than last season. Fixtures We had a decent pre-season and won our first competitive game, but it was like watching a completely different team against Denbigh. A big blow was losing one of last season's stars to a bad injury in our first game. Finances We need to get some prize money of some sort this season to balance out the decline of our financial position.
Motlhen
Aug 2024 Transfer In Farrington is a solid DM or DC who comes in on a cheap app fee. Fixtures A stronger start than last year, great to get through the cups too! Record Finances Edited July 20, 2023 by Motlhen
Motlhen
Sep 2024 Transfers In We brought in a young, versatile defender, a loanee to be backup to both wing back positions and managed to nab another decent young goalkeeper. Fixtures We've been continuing our good form with only one defeat in each month so far. We played Colwyn Bay 3 times and won 6-5 overall. The best game was in the league; an epic that we lost to a 91st minute winner. We're sitting pretty in 4th, but the league is tight still as it's early on. We're still in all 3 cups, but we've been handed a tough double draw against Haverfordwest who've been flying high in the Welsh Prem (current season & league history below). Finances We seem a lot more stable this season- probably from the prize money we've made from staying in the cups!
Motlhen
Oct 2024 Transfer In We've added a bit more strength to our midfield after some of the summer signings didn't live up to the hype. Fixtures We have hit a horrid run of form. Haverfordwest comfortably & expectedly dumped us out of both cup matches, but the league games were terrible. We're still missing a striker who can consistently score goals and only AMR McCarrick found the net for us in 5 games this month. The only positive was a nil-nil draw which sees us through to the quarter finals of the L2 Cup.
Motlhen
Nov 2024 Our best-rated player has been out since the first game of the season and in his 3rd appearance since returning he's been injured again. Fixtures We managed to stop the drought of points, but not by any big margins. We're finely balanced in mid-table. We're still in one of the 3 cups. At the end of the month we played Colwyn Bay who we had knocked out of both of the other cups this season already. (They have our number in the league though.) ..they must hate us but we are through to the semi-final! Where we'll play Ruthin- for a huge chance at our first final. Motlhen
Dec 2024 The less said about our end to the year the better. Time to review the squad and gear up for the transfer window.
Motlhen
Jan 2025 Well we have definitely improved on the end of last year. The two draws were very different stories. We almost hung on to a first league victory against Colwyn Bay only to concede a 91st minute equaliser with their first shot on target of the game. & then we performed terribly, losing 3-0 to Porthmadog until the 81st minute when we got what I thought was a consolation goal, until a late, late double means we are unbeaten so far in 2025. Creamer had a good month in centre midfield. Transfer In I've loaned in another striker to try to get the goals flowing. Finances
Motlhen
Feb 2025 We've managed to keep our unbeaten run going! I was happy that Rees got his first goal, but he's not been putting them away as I'd hope he might. This run we're on has earned me my first Manager of the Month award. Transfer In I might be panic-buying strikers. Finances
Motlhen
Mar 2025 Our unbeaten run wasn't going to last forever. Holywell was a game we had a chance with, but we weren't clinical (story of our season). & then out of no where we won 4-0! New signing Odei-Larbi got a brace and despite not getting on the scoresheet in the following two games, I have high hopes for him. We lost our Assistant Manager to Port Talbot. But I've been trusted with a new contract for next season, with another £50p/w pay rise. Finances

Motlhen
We dominated the first half but conceded their first 2 shots which meant we were always chasing the game. Another big injury to Smith dented our appetite in the 2nd half and we whimpered to defeat. A hard one to take.
Motlhen
Apr 2025 We have a new assistant manager. We finished the league in strong form, but only to match the same position as last season. We desperately need a couple of good strikers to take us to the next level. But there's a lot of rumours swilling around mine & the club's future. We haven't performed as well as was expected and next season has to be a big improvement as the board and the squad are losing patience with me. willemvandoorn15
Good read. Hopefully you can finish mid table the next season(s) to eventually challenge promotion.
Motlhen
We have a new board, they've restructured financially but they seem way tighter on the contracts we can offer. I'm not able to offer more than £50 appearance fee at the moment, so we're going to have to reduce the squad size to be able to improve the quality.
Motlhen
This is our first and (almost) second XI. We need some better centre-backs and we're still desperately missing a good striker. It's going to be hard to keep hold of all of our starters as the team's in the league above will come sniffing and as they are all on part-time contracts, there's not much I can do if they decide they want to leave. Motlhen
Pre-Season 2025 Transfers Out We lost our starting RB and a backup GK. It could have been a lot worse, but Huddart will be missed. Transfers In Friendlies We've been winning & winning well. I hope this can continue into the competitive games.
Motlhen
Jul 2025 We have been given favourable odds and the board & fans expect a similar finish. The pressure is on! Transfers In Fixtures A terrible start. The new signings are getting used to each other? Or some other excuse.
