End Of Season Review - 2022/23

Amazing season in the end.

I would say we were kinda unlucky with all the injuries.

Aboubakar is now fit again.

I think with the right additions we can win the league.

Looking at the statistics and happiness I think the squad was good in the 2nd half of the season.

 

Its time to analyse thge season and make the right moves.

Huge clear out of the U19 and some huge sales.

Some tough choices were made.

The big ones are Amir, Gedson, Aboubakar and Pfeiffer.

 

Amir and Gedson needed to go, because we needed the money.

For Pfeiffer we got a nice deal. Bought for 2,9 and sold for max 7 mio + 20%.

After the ACL I lost my confidence in Aboubakar. He is not gettin younger, relies on his physicals and he was on almost 4 mio/year.

Finances are a tough one in Turkey. 

We reduced the wage bill by 10-15% and I think we even improved the squad.

We already signed Yunus is February. Young CB with a lot of potential, he will stay at Samsunspor for the season.

Lewis is the Masuaku replacement, I didnt trigger the option we had on him.

He is an investment, I think within 18 months, we sell him back to England for a nice profit.

I sold Aboubakar, because we managed to sign my boy Belotti. He will tear this league apart.

Also the Gedson departure doesnt hurt that much, if you can sign someone like Chaalali for free

I really like Roberto Pereyra in this game. He was listed for cheap, so this is a nobrainer for me.

We managed to loan out Eyüp again. Bielsa loved him last season.

We also invested for the future.

Mehmet will take the backup RB spot and will challenge Rosier.

We payed a lot for Huskovic, but he declined couple of Bundesliga teams for us.

Quaresma could be a steal for 975k.

Europa Conference League 2023/24 - League Path Second Round - 2nd Leg

Bielsa played a rotated team in the 2nd leg.

Sakhnin tried but in the end we won the game.

 

USG will be a much tougher opponent, but we should win those games.
