FM12 Editor Help. Minor tweak to database, now what was fine won't load

I have a database made up of two custom nations, a league set up, 40+ teams... etc, all the works. It was all fine and swimming, but after a some changes and additons: editing other countries nation transfer preferences (i changed this back), a couple more players for the teams, fixed my nation's young player of the year award (forgot to set a maximum for age). 

 

It should all be fine, but when i try to start a new game and begin the loading process- it fails at the first hurdle of "setting up database". i'm not sure what my problem is or should i just start over from one? its only 10K changes so i can't see why it would fail like this.
