KibworthBull
May 2079 May starts with the ending of the group stages - a nothing match for all concerned. Or so I thought... River lost by the same scoreline as we won and somehow we top the group! Cesar Vellajo have fallen behind this season - they are on a new manager - we allow them a point. We went to UTC four points behind the leaders, despite being unbeaten, Brayan Aviles was sublime and we scored 5. He was great again against Municipal. 4 games left and it is a 2 horse race We have the Pacific Games next month - this is our 23-man squad that will probably disappoint. We'll have 6 games in about 2 weeks.
KibworthBull
June 2079 The Pacific Games are here boys and girls. HERE!!!! A very tough domestic game first. Away to Athletico Alianza - they are in 17th but we have 8 missing on international duty. Teen Omar Sánchez scored twice in the first 5 minutes and we never looked back. Before we left it incredibly late to sneak past Melgar - Brayan Avilés with a 93rd minute winner. We are still in it with 2 games left. With Samoa, we warmed up against New Caledonia and lost 2-0. Not the best start. It almost feels like we've hit a ceiling with Samoa. A win! Over the Cook Islands. Expected but nice to be off and running. New Zealand U23s absolutely rip us to shreds. It was 6-0 at Half Time. Joe Sefo scores twice as we look for Caledonia revenge - we settle for a 4-4 draw. Against American Samoa, Pualele Talia grabs his first international hat-trick - and another - as we pick up a big win. It comes down to Tahiti - we are level on points, victory and we progress to the 3rd/4th place play-off. The draw was not good enough. 3rd - possibly progress but we've beaten New Caledonia and Tahiti before so the draws feel like a let down.
KibworthBull
July 2079 We are thankful for Carlos Cavero who got 2 goals to help us pass Sport Huancayo. Alianza won as well so we need them to draw the last game, and we must win. We must beat Bolognesi and hope that Cristal stop Alianza from winning. We win it late but the big story is Alianza losing their 2nd game of the campaign. We've signed Alianza's reserve keeper Rafael Acevedo to come and do the same job for us. As we've now qualified for the end-of-season play-off we can relax for the next 18 league games. A 5 start showing against Leon starts us off. 2 minor injuries to the young guard annoy the medical staff somewhat. Full rotation for Cusco and the youth side got the 3 points - we've got a big Copa Lib game at the end of the month so we are preparing for that. The kids did ok against Martin's men. Before we go to Emelec in Ecuador. Full Strength, 4 goals but annoyingly we let 2 in. Centre Back Carlos Ampuero getting a rare goal. Giancarlo Arboleda loves scoring goals, so thank god he's a striker. The 19 year old made is 8 in 8 starts this season with 2 against Sport Boys. A month where everything has landed our way
KibworthBull
August 2079 There's a job to finish off. Emelec are two goals behind us at kick off. And three behind us at the full time whistle. Richard Paniagua scoring twice to settle any nerves. We get the holders SPO in the Quarter Final. Belarusian Ilya Vergeychik has been gradually going about his business in the Centre of Midfield this season, he finally scored in a 7-0 win over bottom side Universidad Alianza. We put the reserves out for the trip to Alianza (I forgot they were decent...) Focus is very month on the SPO games at the end of the month, a goalless draw at Cianciano inspired few. The first team played at Universitario as I felt we needed a win, but it required Maxime Obekop scoring in the 96th minute to get it. It gives the first teamers a week to recover, whilst the fringe players face Cristal, Víctor Ramos smashes a treble and we pick up a lovely win. We were the better team against SPO but fell to a 1-0 defeat, which means we must do something in Brazil - I have my doubts we can. The reserves beat Ayacucho We know when we come back from Brazil we will be a million pound richer, but we want progress too. We led for about 20 minutes, but come back with the cash. The latest Samoan squad is announced - John Petana comes in as 3rd choice keeper due to injury, apart from that, it's as good as it gets.
KibworthBull
September 2079 Just the two league games this month. Juan Aurich is disposed off, Jesus Carty with 2. We should have beaten Cesar Vellajo, Tomás Palomares having some game, but the point does them fewer favours than it does us. Between the two leagues we take a break for some internationals, Samoa host Vietnam before travelling to Fiji, We got a proper FM'ing from Vietnam, they leave the Islands with a win where we dominate. I'm actually quite content with the draw in Fiji - they are the 2nd best in the continent so expected defeat.
KibworthBull
October 2079 It's UTC first up, and we were 5 up just after the half hour, Luis Chavez with 3 of them. His third was his 50th for the club. More early goals at Municipal, and 8 in the game, they were 3rd but this result probably knocks them out of the running for the end of season play-off. Every trick in the book is being deployed to get Ilya Vergeychik to tick off Belarus - he plays up front and scores against Alianza Atletico - it's not enough though. He gets the only goal of the game to see us past Melgar, but it's not enough still. Just 2 league games left. We know what the Championship Play-Off will be. For the last Samoan friendly of the year, we've got a new look squad, mainly because the U23 Olympic Qualifiers are still going on (we are already out, but FM logic...) so we can't call up a lot of players. This is the group that travels to Kiribati. No real positives of the draw. Joe Sefo moves to 44 goals for his nation - it's a record. In my race to 100 caps, we finally have a Samoan at the top. Ugandan Left Winger Shafik Ssemujju has finally been toppled. Weinno Vaifale should be the man to do it, Bitner Taufaga is 32 and no longer a regular. KibworthBull
November 2079 2 more games until we are deducted 36 points. 6 teenagers start the Sport Huancayo game, and we score 6 goals. Might try 7 next game. They are bottom for a reason. We've set a league record for most goals - 133 with 90 minutes left. Goal difference of 99. Teenage Left Back/Wing Back/Midfielder/Winger Sensation Julio Gonzáles grabs his first two career goals as we make it a 100+ goal difference. 2nd will play 3rd and we get the winners next month
KibworthBull
December 2079 3 games, 2 chances of silverware. 2 legs of the Championship final against Alianza... and then the SupaCopa final, probably against Alianza. Totally dominate, 20 chances created, maybe slightly disappointed we only scored 3 BUT also a clean sheet. Richard Paniagua scored twice in the first ten minutes of the away leg to remove any doubt. We are league champions. Alianza sack their manager... I become an Icon. It's amazing how 2 games changes everything. SupaCopa Final. Alianza. Their key player is a 24 year old striker called Salvador Lozada - he joins us in a few days on a free transfer. They must be sick of us. A nice double to end the decade. KibworthBull Posted Thursday at 20:45 Author Share Posted Thursday at 20:45 February 2080 Welcome to the 80s Home of mullets and other stuff I am too young to reference. But this is the 2080s so who knows what the fashion of the day will be. It's been a bit of a slog getting here from 2079 but we've done some business. Alassane Diallo has moved to the Middle East for £1m - he was in the last year of his contract and was refusing to even chat. Maxime Obekop has also moved on - he takes up a foreign slot but is no longer good enough to warrant it, especially if we want success in the Copa Lib, and we do - he signed for Cesar Vallejo. Carlos Cavero is 32 so has a limited shelf life - you'll see below that we've signed 2 strikers so needed to move someone on. William Medina did a very fine squad job for a couple of seasons as well. Our Peruvian base continues to gain strength. Salvador Lozada is a Striker who scored a decent amount for Alianza last year - a goal every other game. Michael Herrera is a Centre Back with over 200 games at this level, still only 27. Both are free transfers. Salvatore Pana is an 18 year old Colombian striker who looks quite tasty. The league campaign starts with Cusco, and boy do we get off to a flier. 8 goals AND a man of the match display from Ilya Vergeychik - that's Belarus in the bag. #177 Salvatore Pana gets a double on his debut as we see off Leon. Before the biggie. Alianza at home. Their new manager WAS our fitness coach. And a former player of mine in Uzbekistan. You only need one goal to win a game. KibworthBull Posted Friday at 20:52 Author Share Posted Friday at 20:52 March 2080 We have a fairly horrid Copa Lib group - a Brazilian side, an Argentine side, and then us. 3rd would be good. We also have the fun of a league campaign getting started. Fun. Ayachucho beaten with teenagers running the show. Our first test is SAN in Brazil, Salvatore Pana did something incredible and we win. These boys knocked us out of the Copa Sud in 2077, before winning the comp so they have a bit of clout. Municipal were unbeaten but we've got some serious domestic strength these days, our 2nd string put 5 past them. Omar Sanchez gets the plaudits. Freddy Pinillos becomes our youngest ever player - 16 years and 91 days. Argentine Tomás Palomares scores past Argentine San Lorenzo and it's 2 from 2 in the Copa Lib. There was a time when Cesar Vallejo would have been amongst the creme de la creme, sadly they are now an also-ran - a not quiet side. A professional victory here. A trip to Venezuela and Zamora, Bobby's boys are 2 defeats from 2, and we inflict their 3rd. Maximum points from the Copa this month, we top the group. Game number 2,200 in my illustrious career against bottom of the table Sport Boys. Salvador Lozada with a treble. We have some Oceanic Nations League matches to consider to add more hecticness to the schedule. Sialla Aoelua is a 16-year-old Right Back along for the ride, and Spencer Sikovi is a slightly older striker who might get a goal or two. All the best regens are right wingers, and this continues as Soloi Siemu has appeared - already our 3rd best player - the other two are Right Wingers so doesn't really help us. I will be upset if we don't progress 10-4 good buddy.... Captain Cook's boys don't know where to look at the end of this one. They are 1 ranking place (and point) higher than us. Our biggest ever win. Typical Samoa.... a draw against Tonga. Which means the Samoa derby is a shoot out for Qualification. And yes I realise the game is played in April - but, like, closure. Typical Samoa. We are out. Utter failure.
KibworthBull Posted yesterday at 20:34 Author Share Posted yesterday at 20:34 April 2080 It was a fairly poor performance to start the month, but a win is a win, the kids do the biz at Sport Huancayo. Job done after 30 minutes against Bobbies Boys. 6 of the best and then relax. Diego Márquez showing why he's the most underrated player in Peru. We have qualified with 2 games left. Luis Chavez's double ensures we set a new national record for games unbeaten - 24. Salvatore Panahe is only 19, but he already has 12 goals in 7(+4 subs) starts. We beat the bottom of the league Binacional. A Brazilian double as we squeeze past SAN, it means they must battle it out with San Lorenzo to get into the next stage. A month where we have achieved our objectives - good rotation is keeping most of the squad happy and fit. The leagues are looking good.
KibworthBull
May 2080 Salvador Lozada has a 100% record - 8 games, 8 goals - helped by a hattrick at Melgar. We then made it 6 from 6 in the Copa Lib - remember me talking about having a tough group. What do I know. We've all but sown up the Opening Stage - victory over Cristal made it 13 from 13 and 12 points clear - the chasing pack have a game in hand. The Copa Lib has drawn us against COR(inthians) - that'll be a test as to how good we are. The board wanted us to "sneak a win" at Cienciano and Carlos Ampuero made sure we did that - a late header. The opening stage was secured against last seasons 2nd tier winners (and not from Wales) Llacuabamba. Just the 5 goals conceded so far.
