FM23 Vanarama HELP! Dorking Wanderers

Hi all - looking for some help if possible? 
 

I’ve started going to watch my local team - Dorking wanderers so want to start a save with them on FM23. 
 

I’ve tried a couple of times and it’s not gone great! 
 

Not sure what formation and tactics to deploy and not a clue who to sign:

Seen the various  lists of “vanarama freebies” but most of them don’t want to sign or ask for too much money which I can’t afford. 
 

Can someone please help with tactics and players to target to get promotion to league 2?
