BML
I would put this down to the game struggling to correctly marry up the different league phases with the correct news items/records. It has been an issue for a while (I seem to remember having a conversation with somebody on here - may have even been in one your threads - last game cycle about the same thing) as it has definitely affected me in South American saves in the past. I would imagine that spinning the game on a few days until the defined end of season/season reset will see you crowned champions based on the Overall Table. Otherwise what's the point of the first stage? You could rotate and save players for the closing stage each year to give you a title advantage. To me, that seems crazy even for South American leagues.

To me, that seems crazy even for South American leagues. After thinking about it calmly for a little while, (while trying to do other stuff), I "think" that the Overall League Table might not actually be a big deal nowadays. I "think" it's just used to determine who plays in the Copa Libertadores and who plays in the Copa Sudamericana, over and above who wins the Liga Apertura Final, the Liga Finalización Final and the Copa Dimayor. I'm looking for a real life trophy now online for the Overall League Champions and there doesn't actually seem to be one, which is good from the save perspective because it means that the only thing broken, (other than points from the 2nd leg of each Final), is a news item and in particular the location it extracts it's info from. So maybe not the disaster I initially feared. I just need to change my European mindset a little. We have 2 different leagues. We don't have 2 different leagues that combine to make an Overall League. [Edit] The other thing of course is that if there is no Overall League Table Champion or Title or Trophy or whatever, then it matters much less about the points from the 2nd leg of a Final which is lost, because it all goes towards a something that doesn't really matter. Jimbokav1971
Dec 2020. Liga Finalización Finals. We fall at the final hurdle, but it's still an enormously successful season. Records. Awards. (25a) Mesa (F.Pro) * has hardly played for us, but has spent the last couple of seasons out on loan and although he struggled last season and in the 1st Phase this season, he scored 13 goals in the 2nd Phase which suggests development. (28b) Salazar (F.Pro) * is the SCR for the 2nd Team and he's developing well. (27b) Hoyos (Res) * has developed brilliantly and I thought he would romp Young Player of the Year, but he's being held back by a lack of development physically and this could be the difference between him becoming a good player and a great player. Team of the Year. I would like to have seen more of our players here, but of course their chances are being hurt by us rotating 2 different squads so they are playing half the number of games. This isn't going to change. It's great for Youth Development and it's also great for managing injury/fatigue. Goal-scoring GK's. (24e) Ramos (Driven) 6'1" is 21/27 from the spot at 78%. Jimbokav1971
Youth Intake day. I think this is an amazing intake, but perhaps not for the reasons you think. Yeah we have 3x 5.0 PA players, (1 of whom is a 2.5 CA player), and 1x 4.5 player, and the overall intake is classed as 5.0, but what stands out from this intake is the level of (Det) across the board. The lowest (Det) is 8, and nobody else is in single figures. I have never had an intake with no single digit (Det) players before, and this is the closest I have ev After recent experiences where I have really struggled to develop (27b) Hoyos (Res) * physically, (although I have noticed we have seen some progress early this season), I have added (Natural Fitness) to the Youth Day screen, because I'm starting to think that the influence it holds over the physical development of players is significantly higher than it has been in previous versions of the game. (31e) Portela (Res) is the 5 Natural Fitness player at the top of the list and he has the highest (Det) value in the squad and a really good personality, but it will be interesting to see how his physicals develop alongside his other attributes.
Jimbokav1971
Jan 2031. Liga Apertura. We got off to a slow start with 0 goals in our opening 2 games, but on the plus side we also didn't concede this month. It's early days yet. Records. Reputation. Transfers. (15) Yeison Guzmán HG has been a right royal pain in the bum playing against us in recent seasons. He ALWAYS either scores or assists against us, (often both). He's no spring chicken but we lost (15) Iván Rojas HG on a free, (I was happy to let him move on), and also released (19) D.Zapata so we have 2 centre-mids to replace who featured for us last season 35(2) & 6(21) appearances. I initially signed him as a MC, but to be brutally honest he's not suited to playing in a 2, and I wonder how we might get on playing him at WB? (26c) Cotterill (COL)(USA) spent last season on loan at LA Galaxy and his development has been huge. He's improved so much that he will probably start for the 1st Team at MLC now and is almost like a new player. Released players. Goal-scoring GK's. Nothing this month. Finances. Jimbokav1971
Feb 2031. Liga Apertura. The 2nd Team played the 1st 2 matches of the month and the 1st Team played the 2nd 2 games. I have to take responsibility for the losses though as the 2nd Team were nowhere near fit for competitive football, (thanks to 1 friendly game that most of them didn't start). I really need to be more focussed in the build-up to the start of the season, but the problem is that Youth Intake Day dominates absolutely everything and I lose my focus. Remember though..... it doesn't actually matter because all we have to do is finish in the Top 8, (to qualify for the Semi-Final Groups), and then we have to win to finish top of the group to make it to the Final So basically that gives me scope for much more squad rotation and player development right? Súperliga Dimayor. (Colombian Super-Cup). We completely dominated them and fingers crossed that's a sign of what's to come later in the season. Records. Goal-scoring GK's. Good to see (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" * get off the mark early on this season. I want to see 10+ goals from him this season. (24e) Ramos (Driven) 6'1" is 21/27 from the spot at 78%. Jimbokav1971
Mar 2031. Liga Apertura. We've been hit by injuries this month, but we've also not been in great form and we've been giving up far too many chances to the opposition. Remember though, all we need to do is finish in the Top 8. Nothing else matters now that we know the Overall Table doesn't actually mean anything. Copa Libertadores. I think we should have had 3 wins from 3 here, but the 2nd Team have been weakened by players being called up to the 1st Team and their performances have been hit as a result. Records. Goal-scoring GK's. 1 goal this month from (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" * who moved to 17 career goals. (24e) Ramos (Driven) 6'1" is 21/27 from the spot at 78%. (Is no longer at the club). Fontalvo 6'4" is 9/10 from the spot at 90%. (Is no longer at the club). (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" is 17/20 from the spot at 85%. (28a) Pocarrero (F.Det) 6'2 * is 4/4 from the spot at 100%. Jimbokav1971
Apr 2031. Liga Apertura. We've not been in great form, but our results have actually been decent. 4 wins from 6 games in the league and 2 wins from in the Copa Libertadores. We even smashed 7 goals in our last game, but 5 of the 7 goals were scored in the last 11 mins, so t possibly wasn't a fair reflection on the whole game, (although we obviously finished really strongly). Copa Libertadores. The 2nd Team served up 2 good wins this month and with 1 game still to play, (at home to Gimnasia y Esgrima). Goal-scoring GK's. Nothing this month. Finances. Jimbokav1971
NxGn 2031. (27b) Hoyos (Res) * makes the NxGn list for the 4th consecutive year, but as he's 19 now, this will be his last appearance. 2028. #37 2029. #34 2030. #34 2031. #34 (28b) Salazar (F.Pro) * is appearing on the lst for the 1st time, and as he is 18 has 1 more year to try again. (27b) Hoyos (Res) * has finished 37th, 34th, 34th and 34th on the NxGn list over the last 4 seasons. That doesn't seem right to me. The probability of him finishing in the same position in 3 consecutive years is enormously unlikely. He's started to develop a little physically after years of seemingly being he;d back by his low Natural Fitness attribute.
Jimbokav1971
May 2031. Liga Apertura. It's frustrating to be down in 5th in the league, but it really doesn't make the slightest bit of difference and I need to get my head around that and embrace this South American strategy. All we have to do is finish in the Top 8 and then and only then we have to finish top of the Semi-Final Group and then win the final. There is absolutely no benefit whatsoever to us winning all the league games, (other than for harming the morale of the opposition of course and bragging rights!). With that in mind, finishing 5th in the 1st League phase is fine, although our old rivals Millonarios and lowly Bogota seem to be the form teams. Junior FC finished their 1st phase campaign with 4 wins and a draw in their last 5 games, but it still wasn't enough to squeeze into the Semi-Final stage and they miss out by a single point. Liga Apertura. Semi Final Group. This started really well with an exquisite late winner from 17yo RWB (30c) Ortega (Res) 5'9" *, and then I was happy to get a draw in the end despite us dominating Deportes Tolima, as we paid the price for (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" * converting only 1 of the 2 pens we were awarded in the game. Copa Libertadores. What a tight Group this was, so delighted to top the Group, (against both Brazilian & Argentinian opposition). 8 Second Round games and 9 Brazilian Teams seems a bit much. 2 from Argentina, 2 from Colombia and then 1 each from Chile, Peru & Venezuela. Copa Dimayor. The job was done as soon as we won the away leg thanks to a hat-trick from (24c) Suárez (F.Amb) *, (who has struggled a little in the league).m Goal-scoring GK's. 2 pens taken in the same game by (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" *, but only 1 converted. (24e) Ramos (Driven) 6'1" is 21/27 from the spot at 78%. (Is no longer at the club). Fontalvo 6'4" is 9/10 from the spot at 90%. (Is no longer at the club). (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" is 18/22 from the spot at 82%. (28a) Pocarrero (F.Det) 6'2 * is 4/4 from the spot at 100%. (29a) Tello (F.Sport) * is 2/2 from the spot at 100%. (Is on loan in the Colombian 2nd tier). It should be mentioned that we are developing quite ridiculous depth at GK, (especially when you consider that we have had the following GK's leave us during this save). Finances. We're doing ok for money at the moment. I have struggled to sell some of the older strikers that I want to replace because I think I was being too greedy. I think I'm going to have to just lower my expectations, sell them for lower fees when the window opens and then hope that the add-on clauses come good further down the line. Because we've had some big sales I thought I could sell everyone for that sort of money. I can't.
Jimbokav1971
Jun 2031. Liga Apertura. Semi Final Group. Only 3 goals conceded in the Semi-Final Group is pretty decent. Liga Apertura Finals. I thought we might struggle after losing the 1st leg at home, but we were really good in the away leg and if anything we could and should have won by more. Goal-scoring GK's. No goals this month. (In on loan in the Colombian 2nd Tier). (29a) Tello (F.Sport) * is 2/2 from the spot at 100%. Finances. I'm still not overly concerned with our finances even though we're down to just over £7M in the bank. There have been no significant transfers for about 18 months now, (although we have cashed in a few clauses), and we're largely surviving on Continental prize money and add-ons from previous sales that are more than trickling through. Jimbokav1971
Jul 2031. Liga Finalización. we've let some really big players leave this month, so I was really quite surprised by how well we started, and if we can continue anything like this form then I will be a happy man. Copa Libertadores. I thought we might have a sniff of a chance after only losing the 1st leg by a single goal, but we just couldn't score in the 2nd leg so that's the end of that. I did notice that where as the capacity of our stadium has always been 14,000, we were only previously allowed to use a 5,000 capacity. That seems to have been increased to 6,000 now. Records. Transfers. Changing of the guard. It's fair to say that the fans weren't to happy with some of my transfer dealings. While the cash we've got for them wasn't much, the add-ons might very well be later on down the line. I didn't decide to sell these players for the money now. I decided to sell them to free up some wage budget, hopefully create some clauses that we can trigger in the future, and of course free up the pathways to all us to more easily bring youngster players through. (22) Aristizábal. has been great for us on the left up front, but he's 25 now and we didn't want to offer him a new contract, so selling him now rather than keeping him for another 12 months and then letting him go on a free would mean that we don't have the 25% clause on a player who is now valued at £7.4M-£8.6M. (22) Bonilla. appears that he's only gone for £200k and you look at his value now, £7.8M-£11M, and you wonder at the sense of it. As well as the deal possibly rising to £500,000, we also have a 25% clause that could be huge and is the reason for the sale. We just have to accept that in many sales we make, the income we generate from the sell-on clauses is likely to be bigger than the income from the initial sale. (20) Mesa. has been another key player for us and I was torn about selling him, but I just think it makes sense to move him on, hopefully benefit from his 25% clause and free up the pathway for the next generation to come through, (of which there are a few decent ones). (22) Ramírez. has been performing really well this season and there is no doubt that we will miss him, but we need to offload him just to give the opportunity to developing players. Transfers In. I've really just signed him as a short-term fix to replace some of the talent we've lost in the wide forward positions. Goal-scoring GK's. A miss from (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" * against Llaneros thankfully didn't cost us any points. (24e) Ramos (Driven) 6'1" is 21/27 from the spot at 78%. (Is no longer at the club). Fontalvo 6'4" is 9/10 from the spot at 90%. (Is no longer at the club). (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" is 18/23 from the spot at 78%. (28a) Pocarrero (F.Det) 6'2 * is 4/4 from the spot at 100%. (In on loan in the Colombian 2nd Tier). (29a) Tello (F.Sport) * is 2/2 from the spot at 100%. Finances. We're up to almost £10M, and we still haven't sold any of what I call our really big stars this season.
Jimbokav1971
Aug 2031. Liga Finalización. We get rid of our experienced strikers and if anything it seems to have improved us. Copa Dimayor. We're into the Semi's with a little bit of ease. Goal-scoring GK's. 2 goals this month from (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" * bring his career total to 20. (24e) Ramos (Driven) 6'1" is 21/27 from the spot at 78%. (Is no longer at the club). Fontalvo 6'4" is 9/10 from the spot at 90%. (Is no longer at the club). (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" is 20/25 from the spot at 80%. (28a) Pocarrero (F.Det) 6'2 * is 4/4 from the spot at 100%. (In on loan in the Colombian 2nd Tier). Jimbokav1971
Oct 2031. We won the Súperliga Dimayor and then the Liga Apertura and now we have added the Copa Dimayor. Can we make it a domestic quadruple and alo win the Liga Finalización? Liga Finalización. With 1 point remaining, we're top, but there is a part of me that wonders if I could possibly engineer the results on the last day so that we finish 2nd, and Millonarios finish 1st with Atlético Nacional 3rd. If that's how we finish then the other 2 will be drawn in the same Semi-Final Group and we will have neither of them in our Group. Copa Dimayor. We win this trophy for the 2nd time, and it's only the 3rd time that anyone other than Millonarios have won it during the course of this save. Awards. Although he hasn't had much of a chance with us, (25a) Mesa (F.Pro) * has regularly gone out on loan and although he's still only 22 years old, this is already the 4th season that he has hit double figure league goals and the plan is definitely to give him a go next season in the aftermath of experienced strikers leaving. No player has scored more than 8 goals in a season in this competition since the save began. Goal-scoring GK's. 2 goals from the spot for (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" * this month. I think a lack of fans is holding you back though meaning you'll have to sell players more regularly then your rivals.

Yeah I think it's something straightforward like a cost-saving exercise where we're only using 1 stand or something because the demand isn't/wasn't there, but obviously triggering an increase in that is dome in a similar way to the way that any normal stadium expansion would be decided, (and I'm happy with that). Now that it's been upgraded once I expect it to happen as and when we trigger it.
Sir_Liam
You're probably right as that suited my team at the time as we were often getting 50,000 in the stadium.

I think a lack of fans is holding you back though meaning you'll have to sell players more regularly then your rivals. Yea we are. I knew that was likely to be the challenge in this save, but I also didn't appreciate what a challenge it would be in the very early stages of the save. Having said that, we do have the best Facilities in the Country & before too long I think we will start pumping out quality at a level previously unseen in Colombian domestic football, (as we hold onto them for longer). That's the plan anyway.

Jimbokav1971
Nov 2031. Liga Finalización. We finished top of the 2nd Phase League, but we drew the last 3 games of the regular season and I felt like we were running on empty even before the Semi-Final Group. Liga Finalización. Semi Final Group. We were way off the pace here and well beaten in 3 of the games. Overall League Table. This table doesn't mean anything, (other than to the teams who are relegated and to determine who plays in Europe after the winners of the 2 League stages and the Cup). It does serve as a decent snapshot for the season though. Goal-scoring GK's. 1 successful pen this month for (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" * brings him to 8 pens scored from 10 taken this season. (24e) Ramos (Driven) 6'1" is 21/27 from the spot at 78%. (Is no longer at the club). Fontalvo 6'4" is 9/10 from the spot at 90%. (Is no longer at the club). (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" is 23/22 from the spot at 81%. (28a) Pocarrero (F.Det) 6'2 * is 4/4 from the spot at 100%. (In on loan in the Colombian 2nd Tier). (29a) Tello (F.Sport) * is 2/2 from the spot at 100%. Finances. We're down to under £6M and we might have to sell some players again to boost our balance.
Jimbokav1971
Squad Stats. Dec 2031. Squad by Appearances. Although (31a) Díaz (F.Pro) 6'2" made 63 appearances this season, (31a) Díaz (F.Pro) 6'2" also made 8 appearances, (so assuming nobody played games before leaving on loan), that means we played 71 games this season. Squad by Goals. For the 1st time in this save we have a player who is almost scoring at a goal a game in (24c) Suárez (F.Amb) *. Squad by Assists. He really doesn't seem great and is only rated at 3.0 CA and 3.0 PA, but there is no doubt about the influence of (23) "Titch" Russell 5'4" with 27 goal involvements. Squad by Avg Rating. The player that jumps out at me here is 16 year old (31a) Díaz (F.Pro) 6'2" who has an Avg Rating of 7.11 as GK without scoring any goals. He's only played 8 games in his debut season though. The player I'm going to show you though is 18 year old (29b) Cortázar (F.Det) * who finished with an Avg rating of 7.24 from his 1st full season, (and even then often used from the bench). Loans out by Appearances. After a season in the 2nd tier, I think (24n) Diaz (F.Pro) is ready to step up next season. Squad by CA. We only have 11 players at the club with 3.0 CA or better, (so enormous room for development). Squad by PA. We "only" have 8x players who are rated at 5.0 PA. We have 14x more players who are rated at 4.5 PA though, (and that's plenty good enough). We have 9x more players who who are rated at 4.0 PA. And 10x more players who are rated at 3.5 PA. Jimbokav1971
Transfers Out? Dec 2031. 3 players are leaving at the end of the month when their contract expires. I have an option on all 3 but not taking them up. 8 players contracts are expiring in June of next year. The 2 players with .'s will be released, (assuming I can't flog them before that). (16) Iván Angulo HG did ok this season, but I will see how his physicals decline before triggering his option. I think he will probably be released. Everyone else will have their options triggered. 21 players have contracts that are expiring at the end of next season, (12 months away). (15) Yeison Guzmán HG and (21) Roldán will be released if I haven't managed to sell them before then. (21) Roldán has made 2(33) appearances this season, but I think he will be completely surplus in another 12 months. (24g) Smith (WAL)(IRL)(Bal) will have his option triggered. (24j) Villero (Bal) 5'9" will have his option triggered. (29j) Baldovino (Driven) will have his option triggered. (29e) Pacheco (Res) has had his option triggered. (29a) Tello (F.Sport) * has had his option triggered. (25j) Quiceno (Bal) & (27d) Sierra (F.Pro) 5'11" have been offered new contracts. The other 13 players with a . will be released or sold. Jimbokav1971
Youth Player Poached. Dec 2031. You might remember that we had a Youth Player poached a few years ago by Millonarios. I haven't been searching for him because I didn't think I had to. After all, if we have a 5% clase on him then all I have to do is keep checking the clauses, (which I do regularly), and I will see it there. Well here is a list of the current players for whom we have incoming clauses outstanding, (and he's not on the list). Despite that though, he came through the intake last season in Jan. And he looks decent. Unfortunately there is no clause and his poaching doesn't seem to be recorded anywhere. Jimbokav1971
Squad Depth. Jan 2032. GK. We really do have great depth in this area when you consider that (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" * is a very good GK in terms of his CA of 4.0 and we have 4 different players in this position who have better PA than his CA. 1st Team. (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" * Backup. (31a) Díaz (F.Pro) 6'2" Backup. (29a) Tello (F.Sport) * Loan. (28a) Pocarrero (F.Det) 6'2 * Loan. (27d) Sierra (F.Pro) 5'11" Loan. (26g) San José (Temp)(ESP)6'1" DL. I like the depth we have in this area, but as I've mentioned previously I think WB's are significantly OP in our tactic, so any gains we can make in this area might have significant impact. 1st Team. (25l) Belalcázar (F.Det) 2nd Team. (29f) Contreras (Det) 5'7" Backup. (28l) Baldovino (Bal) 5'4" DR. We've got good depth in this position, but only in terms of PA. We're still very light in terms of CA with nobody above 2.0 CA. 1st Team. (30c) Ortega (Res) 5'9" * 2nd Team. (27f) Torijano (Driven) * Backup. (30d) Calvache (F.Loyal)5'1" * DC. This is a tough position simply because we play with 3 centre-backs, but also because these players are also most likely to be suspended. Added to that this is the area, (along with MC), where we have the least depth and it's certainly an area of concern. 1st Team DLC. (25c) Soto (L.Heart) 5'10" * 1st Team DC. (24a) Gómez (Bal) 6'5" * 1st Team DRC. (25d) Díaz (Resil) 6'1" 2nd Team DLC. (25e) Panesso (F.Sport) 6'2" * 2nd Team DC. (25f) Lencina (Fickle) (ARG) * 2nd Team DRC. (26a) Bernal (F.Det) 6'1" Backup. (25g) Riascos (Temp) DC 6'1" Backup. (31d) Mosquera (Bal) 5'8" MC. This is another area where we're short of depth and thank God we're only playing 2 in the middle. 1st Team MLC. (26c) Cotterill (COL)(USA) 1st Team MRC. (27b) Hoyos (Res) * 2nd Team MLC. (24g) Smith (WAL)(IRL)(Bal) 2nd Team MRC. (24d) Villegas (COL)(PER)(Bal) Backup. (25j) Quiceno (Bal) Backup. (30a) Torres (Driven) * Sell. (15) Guzmán SELL Sell. (21) Roldán SELL Sell. (24h) Ladino (Bal) SELL SC. This is an area of ridiculous depth, but after we sold 3 regular strikers last season, it's more PA based than CA based right now. 1st Team SLC. (29b) Cortázar (F.Det) * 1st Team SC. (24c) Suárez (F.Amb) * 1st Team SRC. (27a) Pacheco (Real) * 2nd Team SLC. (25a) Mesa (F.Pro) * 2nd Team SC. (28b) Salazar (F.Pro) * 2nd Team SRC. (29c) Cabal (F.Pro) * Backup. (24n) Diaz (F.Pro) Backup. Backup. (26f) Corrales (F.Det) * Sell. (16) Iván Angulo SELL Sell. (23) "Titch" Russell 5'4" SELL Loan. (26d) Parra (Merc) Loan. (29d) Guerrero (Res) * Loan. (30b) Mosquera (F.Loyal) * Loan. (29d) Guerrero (Res) * Loan. (28h) Ramírez (Merc) Loan. (29e) Pacheco (Res) Loan. (30e) Golúz (F.Pro) Loan. (28c) Barreto (Bal) Loan. Jimbokav1971
Jan 2032. Liga Apertura. This was completely unexpected. In recent seasons we have started poorly, (in performances if not results), as a result of not playing enough friendlies in pre-season, (because it's so short), and not being match fit as a result. (This is especially true of the 2nd Team). This season we played 5 friendlies, but the problem with this was that although players were in a better condition, they were also still fatigued so I couldn't start players that I wanted to. This then had a knock-on effect in that the 2nd Team gained fitness by playing competitive games so we've somehow managed to get lots of players fit and firing after the 1st month of the season. Reputation. It's just the big 2 above us now. Transfers. Clauses. Goal-scoring GK's. No goals this month as we're forced to play 2 GK's this month, neither of whom as 1st choice because 1st (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" * was injured and then (31a) Díaz (F.Pro) 6'2" was called up to help Colombia U23's qualify for the Olympics. How did he manage to be capped having played so few club games, (or is this info not accurate?) He was part of the same national youth team as Freddy Gaurin. I think it was pretty succesful and had other highly touted players. He won the caps after the Lazio move, I guess it was due to the u20s sucess and the assumption that he'd make it at Lazio. They had two other South Americans (Muslera & Carrizo) ahead of him so dont think he even made the bench. Bit of a Cherno Samba/Brutil Hose CM/FM story He came onto the scene at the same time as Igor Akinfeev the CSAK GK. I think a lot of FM players at the time would buy one or the other I did a Evigado save back in the day because of the two of them. But after both of them eventually left for Europe i lost interest. The number of games are crazy so took forever to play. I loved the team colours, very underated

Jimbokav1971
National Team production. Mar 2043. Considering we're relatively early in this save, this is pretty decent. I can honestly see a time not too many years into the future where we have 10-12 players in the National squad. I actually think we should have more players in the National squad now, but I think players who have moved abroad have a higher rep and their selection seems to take priority even when I don't think it should. #
Jimbokav1971
NxGn 2032. We have 2 players on the NxGn list, but they have only sneaked on at #46 and #48. I personally think that (31a) Díaz (F.Pro) 6'2" should have made the list, but maybe that's my fault for not playing him enough. In writing this post I've decided that I need to sell (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" * and do it quite soon simply because of the other GK's coming through. You can only play 1 GK at a time and we've already got 4 who have better PA than him.
Jimbokav1971
Mar 2032. Liga Apertura. 2 narrow losses at the start of the month was tough, but I felt slightly better with 2 narrow wins at the end of the month. I'm not concerned at all with losing a couple of games and dropping to 4th in the table. Remember, all that matters here is finishing in the Top 8. Copa Libertadores. The 2nd Team were poor in the opening game, but River Plate are good and there is no shame in defeat against them, and they bounced back well with a bg win against Olimpia of Paraguay. Part of me wants to fight for qualification to get through to the Knockout Rounds simply because of the money, but the money isn't actually that great anyway, (it's nothing like Champions League money), and I wonder if we would be better finishing 3rd and dropping into the Copa Sudamericana. Goal-scoring GK's. It was good to finally see (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" * get off the mark for the season. (24e) Ramos (Driven) 6'1" is 21/27 from the spot at 78%. (Is no longer at the club). Fontalvo 6'4" is 9/10 from the spot at 90%. (Is no longer at the club). (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" is 24/29 from the spot at 83%. (28a) Pocarrero (F.Det) 6'2 * is 4/4 from the spot at 100%. Jimbokav1971
Apr 2032. Liga Apertura. 4 wins from 6 is ok, but it's perhaps better than ok when you consider that the 1st game we lost was against Atlético Nacional, (who are one of the big 2), and the 2nd game we lost was away to Expreso Rojo and...... no, absolutely no excuse for losing that 2nd one. We're 3rd in the table, 2 points off the top, but none of that really matters because ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS FINISH IN THE TOP 8. I really can't stress that strongly enough. Whether we finished unbeaten in 1st or sneak into the Semi-Final Group in 8th, it's makes not the slightest difference and I'm really finding it hard to adapt my mindset to this. The capitals I've just types are for my benefit and not yours. Copa Libertadores. Last month I commented that I was considering "throwing" some of our remaining Cope Libertadores games to engineer a 3rd place finish that would see us drop into the Copa Sudamericana where we would be more competitive. In the end I opted not to, (because I still think the money makes a difference), and I also basically couldn't make up my mind what was best for us when you also considering rep rises and the like. Anyway, we're into the next round with a game to spare. Foal-scoring GK's. 3 pens this month from (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" *, (all converted), brings him to 4 goals for the season and 27 career goals. I'm keen to move him on though, and there is some interest from Brazil. I have to get into my head that we might not get loads of money for him now, but it's still important to move him on to unblock the pathway for the other players being held up in the log jam behind him. The money doesn't have to be big, and I fully expect to make more from sell-ons than we make from the initial sale. (24e) Ramos (Driven) 6'1" is 21/27 from the spot at 78%. (Is no longer at the club). Fontalvo 6'4" is 9/10 from the spot at 90%. (Is no longer at the club). (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" is 27/32 from the spot at 84%. (28a) Pocarrero (F.Det) 6'2 * is 4/4 from the spot at 100%. (In on loan in the Colombian 2nd Tier). (29a) Tello (F.Sport) * is 2/2 from the spot at 100%. Jimbokav1971
May 2032. Liga Apertura. Despite not getting anything for it, it's still nice to win the league. Liga Apertura. Semi Final Group. Only 1 win from 3, but in a really competitive group we still find ourselves top. Copa Libertadores. Goal-scoring GK's. 2 more pens from (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" * brings up 29 career goals and 6 for the season. (24e) Ramos (Driven) 6'1" is 21/27 from the spot at 78%. (Is no longer at the club). Jimbokav1971
Jun 2032. Liga Apertura. Semi Final Group. Liga Apertura Final. We were well beaten in each game, but there are extenuating circumstances. This is our squad ranked by CA and it shows that 3 of the best 4 players at the club, (by CA), were called up to International duty and missed both legs of the Finals. It's happened before and I think we just have to accept it, and I think the "issue" is that players who play for Colombia generally don't play for Colombian clubs. In the real World, while we might have produced players of this sort of ability, we would have had to sell them before now and they would be playing for someone else by the time they were this good. We're missing our best centre-half, central midfielder and striker, and if that isn't bad enough, we're also missing a 2nd centre-half, (suspended), and the other central midfielder, (injured). When you then add in that 2 of our top ranked 6 players are both GK's, (and we can obviously play only 1), it means that we only managed to play 4 of our top 10 players in the Finals, (so it's really no surprise that we lost). Maybe over time the quality of our fringe players will improve so that we can compete on a more even footing, but at the moment it seems more likely that we will simply lose more players to International duty and be weakened even further. It's a tough one to take after we played so well to get there. There's no point crying about it though. We just have to wear it and move on. Facilities. We can ask for a Training Facility upgrade, but I'm concerned about the cost because we're already at Excellent, (which is level 16/17). Transfers. I think I'm going to have to stop selling players to other Colombian clubs, because they are flippin clueless when it comes to offering contracts. This is a 23 year old player who is clearly on the rise and they've just paid £2M cash for him + extras, and they've only signed him to an 18 month contract with no option to extend. He's going to leave on a free just like the last good GK left on a free. My only hope is that an English club comes in and throws money at them. Goal-scoring GK's. There were no pens this month so it means (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" leaves us on 29 career goals. (24e) Ramos (Driven) 6'1" is 21/27 from the spot at 78%. (Is no longer at the club). Fontalvo 6'4" is 9/10 from the spot at 90%. (Is no longer at the club). (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" is 29/34 from the spot at 85%. (Is no longer at the club). (28a) Pocarrero (F.Det) 6'2 * is 4/4 from the spot at 100%. (In on loan in the Colombian 2nd Tier). (29a) Tello (F.Sport) * is 2/2 from the spot at 100%. Finances. The Finances might be looking pretty above £10M again, but I made a mistake in selling (25b) Hyam (ENG)(IRL) 6'1" * to another Colombian club. I really need to sell to foreign clubs in future.
