Stuniverse
6 hours ago, Hootieleece said: The only thing that might stop you in your journey with Hodd are the finances. I noticed that myself when I did the last Monthly Review (for May 2027). Our balance is over a million pound in the red. But I don't consider that's on me. We're just shy of £10K under our wage budget. There's £404K of a £532K transfer budget left and we've made a profit on our transfer business. The only thing I have blown (and very quickly as well) is our scouting budget. 6 hours ago, Hootieleece said: You are doing great otherwise especially this season. Thank you, @Hootieleece... so far so good this season. But it's very close - only one point separating the top five in OBOS-ligaen. It's a good job the Hødd Board are only expecting playoffs although, obviously, we hope to over-achieve and be promoted to Eliteserien.

Stuniverse
Monday 7th June 2027 Hødd (3rd) v Egersund (13th) OBOS-ligaen -- -- -- -- We were thrilled to win another game in front of our own supporters in Høddvoll. I thought we controlled and dominated the game from start to finish although you can never be comfortable at 1-0 because things can change in an instant. That second goal is so important and it was a huge relief when we scored it, albeit late in the game. We're delighted to be back on top of OBOS-ligaen but it doesn't matter where you are in June, it's where you are at five o'clock on Sunday 7th November that counts.

Stuniverse
Saturday 12th June 2027 Alta (16th) v Hødd (1st) OBOS-ligaen -- -- -- We thoroughly deserved this win although it's always nervy at 1-0 and I can never relax. In our goal, Julian Faye Lund didn't have a shot to save and, I think, we limited them to just two attempts on goal all match. Stuniverse
Episode 58 - Prelude | Head Hunted "Well I didn't see this coming" -- My phone rang and it was my agent, Hedda Berg. Stuniverse: Hello, stranger, how are you? Hedda Berg: I'm great thank you. Hoping to come and see a Hødd game soon. Congratulations on your great start to the season. Stuniverse: Thank you. But it doesn't mean anything yet, there's a long way still to go this season. Hedda Berg: This one's a bit left field, Stuni, and I'm not sure you'll be interested, but Haugesund would like to interview you for their managerial vacancy. Stuniverse: Haugesund? As in our division, Haugesund? OBOS-ligaen Haugesund? Hedda Berg: Yes. That Haugesund. Stuniverse: Why would I want to swap a promotion chase with Hødd (who are professional) for a relegation battle in the same division with Haugesund (who are semi-professional)? Hedda Berg: Haugesund are offering a wage budget of £64K, that's around £19K more than your wage budget at Hødd. Stuniverse: Now that's interesting... and Haugesund are semi-professional,m right? Hedda Berg: Yes, they are. Like I said it's left-field, and I didn't know if you'd be interested, but I wouldn't be doing my job as your agent if I didn't discuss it with you. Stuniverse: I appreciate that, Hedda. I'm loving it here at Hødd and I've got this feeling we could achieve something very special this season. Hedda Berg: I have my fingers crossed for you. Stuniverse: Can you tell Haugesund thank you, but no thanks please. Hedda Berg: I thought you'd say that. I'll let them know. Good luck for the rest of the season. Stuniverse
Saturday 19th June 2027 Hødd (1st) v Jerv (5th) OBOS-ligaen -- -- -- I've just heard what Christian has had to say about his team's performance today and he's right, Jerv were excellent. We didn't match their intensity at all. We started the game very poorly and kept giving the ball away, gifting possession to Jerv. After about 20-25 minutes we changed from a Balanced to a Positive mentality and that helped us work our way back into the game. Forget the loss though, the worst part of today was losing our captain, Rasmus Eggen Vinge to a broken leg on 39 minutes. Our players were clearly upset by their captain's horrific injury. I was hoping we'd get to the break at 0-0 but it wasn't to be. Jerv scored from a corner in added-on time. We picked them up as best we could at the break and started the second half brightly. But we conceded a harsh penalty, went 2-0 down and it was always going to be an uphill struggle from there. We made some more changes, went Attacking, looked to Hit Early Crosses but, despite creating a few good chances, it wasn't to be. We conceded a third as we chased the game at the end. My Assistant Manager Egil Ulfstein and I have this good-cop, bad-thing down to a fine art. I had my say after the match and then left Egil to do his bad-cop thing which he does very well to be fair. Stuniverse
Preview Hamarkameratene (12th) v Hødd (1st) OBOS-ligaen -- -- -- Squad Registration OUT - Rasmus Eggen Vinge (broken leg) | IN: Aleksander Ørstavik Spoiler Spoiler -- Hødd - Expected Lineup
Stuniverse
Saturday 26th June 2027 Hamarkameratene (12th) v Hødd (1st) OBOS-ligaen -- -- -- Give credit to Hamarkameratene they found a way to capitalise on our misfortune to win the game. It's going to sound like excuses but we're just not getting any breaks at all at the moment. If it wasn't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all. Due to injury and suspension we had a brand new central defensive pairing today and some mis-communication led to HamKam's first goal. We made changes after that to try and get back into the game - going Positive, then not looking to Work Ball Into Box, then Attacking in a 4-4-2 / 4-2-4 type system. And it worked. We finally got an equaliser. We reverted back to our normal 4-2-3-1 and I thought we'd go onto win... but I really must stop making all five substitutions. Having already lost Elias Myrlid to injury, and having made all five subs, Jens Petter Hauge got injured and had to leave the pitch - the third time this season we've been reduced to 10-men through injury. Amazingly we still had chances to win it before an inability to clear our penalty area late on allowed Hamarkameratene to grab a late, late, very late winner. Stuniverse
Sunday 4th July Fredrikstad (6th) v Hødd (2nd) OBOS-ligaen -- -- -- I think this was a simple case of a game too far. We had players out with injury, through suspension, and Gabriel Silva had only just got back from international duty with Portugal's U21. We'd struggled early in games recently so we started 4-1-2-3 but went back to our standard 4-2-3-1 after about 15 minutes because that wasn't working. The players looked leggy, tired, fatigued and out on their feet and Jostein Ekeland had to play through an injury as we didn't have anyone to bring on for him. Fredrikstad looked fitter, sharper, and were the better team. They deserved their win. The mid-season break has come at a good time for us. Hopefully, we'll have some of the walking wounded back before our next OBOS-ligaen match.

Stuniverse
Episode 60 - Prelude | Head Hunted Again "And I definitely didn't see this one coming" -- My phone buzzed and it was a text message from my agent, Hedda Berg: Grab yourself a coffee, take a comfortable seat, and give me a ring. ASAP. -- Well that was unusual, normally Hedda would just ring me. What's up? I wondered as I made myself a coffee. Honestly, my first thought was that Loddefjord had sacked my good friend Tor Martin Hegrenes and wanted me back... but I knew that wasn't it. -- Hedda Berg: Hi ya, Stuni. Stuniverse: Hello, Hedda. You wanted to talk? Hedda Berg: Yes, I did. I've had a phone call from Dag Arne Gramen and he wants to invite you to interview for the Tromsø manager's job. Stuniverse: Really? Tromsø? Hedda Berg: Yes. Tromsø. They are very impressed by what you've achieved at Hødd and want to interview you. Stuniverse: Have they seen our last three matches? Hedda Berg: Well Tromsø aren't doing too well themselves. Stuniverse: No, but they are playing in Eliteserien. What did he say? Hedda Berg: Well, apart from singing your praises, they want Tromsø moving up the Eliteserien table, away from the relegation zone towards mid-table. Stuniverse: No surprise there. Hedda Berg: They're offering a £60K wage budget, great facilities, and they want the new manager to make the most of set pieces and use the club's youth system. Stuniverse: Similar to what I'm doing here at Hødd then? Hedda Berg: Yes. That's probably why they want to speak to you. Stuniverse: I'm surprised. Surely, I'm not the best candidate. Hedda Berg: Stop doing that. Stuniverse: What? Hedda Berg: Stop doing yourself down. How many times have I got to tell you? Stuniverse: Every conversation... Hedda Berg: You're not the favourite, no. But you need to remember one thing. Stuniverse: What's that? Hedda Berg: Tromsø made the first move. They approached you direct. Stuniverse: I guess it wouldn't hurt to talk to them. Especially in terms of bringing through young players. Could be good Cheers @Hootieleece and @warlock. This one really did take me by surprise. I could understand Haugesund coming in for me. They were 15th in OBOS-ligaen, traditionally a bigger club than Hødd (as demonstrated by the higher wage budget they were offering), but they had lowered their status to semi-professional at some point on this save and I wasn’t going to swap a promotion chase in OBOS-ligaen for a relegation scrap in the same division. My friend @I have nothing to say asked me if I applied for the Haugesund job which I hadn’t, they approached me direct. I told him I was loving life at Hødd and would love to get them promoted. I added that I wouldn’t be applying for any jobs this season. And I didn’t apply for the Tromsø job. They, like Haugesund, approached me direct. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. I’m not favourite for the Tromsø job. I’m not even 2nd or 3rd favourite. Let's see what Dag Arne Gramen and Tromsø have to say, shall we? Stuniverse
Job Interview - Tromsø IL -- -- -- Yeah, right. I joined Hødd with four matches left and we were 12 points adrift of safety with a vastly inferior goal difference. Hødd were all but mathematically relegated before I got to Høddvoll. -- Yep. That's true. -- I think you'll find Jorgen Vik didn't leave, he was sacked. In fact, you've sacked four managers in five seasons. -- Oh-oh. Here we go. To be fair, I've been very restrained with my spending at Hødd so I can do that. -- Who knows? I'd do my best. -- Spoiler Do I have a choice? Sorry, Jesper, looks like you won't be joining me if I get the job. Spoiler -- Looks very similar to what Hødd's club vision was in Eliteserien. -- Hang on... didn't you just say "avoid relegation"? -- Hmmmn, I was expecting more if I'm honest, Mr Gramen. To be fair though, my transfer budget at Hødd started out as virtually nothing and I only got it up to around half a million through player sales. -- Well it's £11k per week more than I've got at Hødd . -- Can't ask for a coaching badge as I'm still studying for my Continental C Licence, thank you Eirik Pettersen [Hødd Chairperson]. -- -- Edited January 30 by Stuniverse

Stuniverse
Tuesday 20th July Ranheim (Tier 3) v Hødd (Tier 2) Friendly -- -- The players are back from their two week holiday but we still have some medical issues. -- I'm delighted to have Gabriel Silva back with us as our poor run of form has coincided with him being away on international duty with Portugal U21s. The bench today is mainly made of of trialists and younger players not currently registered for OBOS-ligaen. -- -- After losing three OBOS-ligaen games on the spin, it was good to know my Hødd squad remembered how to win. The first half was a convincing 3-0 and I was very pleased. I'm not reading too much into the second half as we made 11 changes at the break and the team for the second half was a makeshift team of trialists, young players from the 2nd team, and players playing out-of-position like Markus Nakkim. Stuniverse
Episode 60 - Prelude "Work Ball Into Box or Not Work Ball Into Box" -- So the thing I remembered I'd changed that may, or may not have had something to do with our poor run of form (three consecutive OBOS-ligaen defeats) was that we'd changed to Work Ball Into Box. As a reminder, this is the system we've been playing: As an experiment, in the friendly against Ranheim, we played half of both halves with Work Ball Into Box and the other half of both halves without that instruction. First Half - 21:36 minutes Work Ball Into Box First Half - approximately 23 minutes no instruction Second Half - 23:05 minutes no instruction Second Half - approximately 22 minutes Work Ball Into Box I'm not sure exactly what this tells me but I'll probably do the same experiment in our other friendly against Stjørdals-Blink. -- I say may, or may not because the poor run of form also coincided with Gabriel Silva being away on international duty with Portugal U21s. Stuniverse
Sunday 8th August 2027 Aalesund (1st) v Hødd (2nd) OBOS-ligaen -- -- -- -- Where do I start with that incredible game. It's not that we were bad in the opening 10 minutes, more that Aalesund were ruthless and their first three shots all went in. A lot of teams would've crumbled at that point but not this Hødd team. We tried to help the team as much as we could. We went Positive, we Hit Early Crosses, we went Attacking and, unbelievably, we were level by 65 minutes.
