Stuniverse
Monday 30th January 2034 Møller Wolfe Wants Explanation -- -- -- -- David Møller Wolfe has been a great servant to Viking since I signed him on a free in 2028. David is currently back-up to Mathias Fjørtoft Løvik but I see his position there seriously being challenged this season by 20-year old Øyvind Bekkevold who we have very high hopes for. -- David Møller Wolfe Spoiler - Mathias Fjørtoft Løvik Spoiler - Øyvind Bekkevold Spoiler Edited July 11 by Stuniverse

Stuniverse
Wednesday 1st February 2034 Episode 145 - Qualified for Europa League Knockouts "Loans Out" -- We've agreed, reluctantly, to loan Per Joar Hægstad Johnsen out to Sandnes Ulf in Eliteserien. I'd really like to find room for him in the Viking squad this season but, I think, Per Joar will get more playing time elsewhere. Some of our potential rivals for the Eliteserien title wanted to take Per Joar Hægstad Johnsen on loan but we rejected their bids. -- Tor Helge Vatten has gone on loan to Sandefjord in Eliteserien. We see Tor Helge as a future right-back for us but with Jesper Robertsen and Costel Tilincă able to play there this season, I felt Tor Helge's development would be better served with a loan move. -- Øyvind Bjørkeng has gone on loan to Staal in Tier 3. Another player we have high hopes for but there's too much competition in the winger / wide midfield areas that I felt his development would be hindered if he'd stayed with us this season. -- Thomas Otterlei has gone on loan to Sandviken (Tier 3) where we expect him to be first-choice and get plenty of playing time in his gloves. -- Dawid Zajac will be playing in Eliteserien for Skeid on loan. -- We've accepted a loan bid from Skeid (Eliteserien) for Brede Norbye, another player we have high hopes for. We asked Haugesund (Eliteserien) to match Skeid's bid but they withdrew their offer. -- I'm disappointed with Peter Vesterbekkmo. We had a loan move lined up for him with Skeid, playing in Eliteserien, but he refused to join them. Edited July 11 by Stuniverse
Stuniverse
Wednesday 1st February 2034 Episode 145 - Qualified for Europa League Knockouts "Possible Ins" -- My Director of Football Erik Nevland has offered a contract to Benfica's Bill Freeman who, we hope, will agree to join us when his contract runs out at the end of June. Spoiler -- Ola Johannes Kleppa Christensen is a player who came through Viking's Academy as a winger. We liked him, liked him a lot, but as we didn't use wingers at the time we released him on a free in 2029 and Sogndal picked him up. Now that we've moved away from the 442 diamond and are using wingers / attacking wide players, we wanted to try and bring him home. Sogndal rejected our enquiry but we've followed up with a firm bid. Spoiler -- Vålerenga's Nguyen Cong Thanh recently got called up by Kjetil Knutsen for the Norway senior squad. We made a bid, which Vålerenga accepted, and we thought we'd agreed personal terms with Nguyen Cong Thanh and his agent but, after thinking it over, he rejected our contract. We have tabled another bid... but I'm doubtful now that this one will get over the line. Spoiler

Spoiler -- We've also rejected plenty of bids for Tinius Sundell. Spoiler -- We may allow Hugo Vetelsen to go if we receive bids of around £1.8 million. Stuniverse
Saturday 4th February 2034 Jaro (Finland) v Viking (Norway) Friendly -- -- We're travelling to Finland to face semi-professional team Jaro. This is one for the younger players to show me where they're at in their development as we'll be looking to trim the first team squad down to a more realistic size during February. We have a few injuries which is unfortunate for Hans Erik Flo (gashed leg), Steinar Braathen (flu) and Nguyen Van Hung (hernia) who would otherwise have played a part today. -- -- -- It was a fairly even match to start with and Jaro took the lead early. Morten Synnes hit the post on 28 minutes, before equalising for us a minute later. Morten would go on to score a second, and a third although he was denied his hat-trick officially by a deflection so the goal was recorded as an own goal. After the equaliser, we were in total control. Fillip Lauritzen also scored two and was denied a hat-trick by the bar. Øystein Bekkeheien scored a penalty and had another penalty well saved. Jaro gave us a good work out and I'm delighted the young lads played so well in a comfortable 6-1 win.

Today we'll reverse what we did against Jerv, so the substitutes will start and play 60 minutes and then we'll make 11 changes for the last half an hour. That's the plan, any way. -- -- We've promoted 17-year old Biniyam Teklab to the first team squad and he'll start against Stabæk today. Spoiler -- -- We're delighted with the 6-0 victory over Stabæk today. We created plenty of chances and were ruthless in front of goal. Stuniverse
Thursday 23rd February 2034 Degerfors (Sweden-Tier 2) v Viking (Norway) Friendly -- -- -- We travel to Sweden to play Swedish Tier 2 Team Degerfors. We'll look to get the starting 11 through a full 90 minutes and then we'll aim to give a different 11 90 minutes against Åsane in our final pre-season friendly. -- -- Well that didn't go according to plan. We started well, and created a few good chances, but then 10 minutes in, young Biniyam Teklab dived in two-footed and was shown a straight red card. We had to make a change to our shape and we were always up against it after that. Degerfors scored two minutes into first half added-on time and again on 69 minutes. We had plenty of chances though, mosrt of them falling to Julian Gonstad, but we were unable to score. --

We think this will be a good workout for our final pre-season match. -- -- -- -- I thought we were excellent today and thoroughly deserved our 5-1 victory over Åsane. Stuniverse
Preview - FC Utrecht (away) UEFA Europa League Round of 16, first leg -- -- We haven't played FC Utrecht before so we don't really know what to expect. Stuniverse
Thursday 9th March 2034 FC Utrecht (The Netherlands) v Viking (Norway) UEFA Europa League Round of 16, first leg -- -- -- We're delighted, to come to the Stadion Galgenwaard in Utrecht and control the game against FC Utrecht, keep a clean sheet and win 2-0, we're thrilled. After a shaky first five minutes, I thought we settled into the game and controlled it for large parts. Lasse Nordås fizzed an early low cross across the six-yard box and Anders Hartveit Ryste couldn't quite get on the end of it. Ove Benjamin Modell had a goal disallowed for offside minutes later. Mamady Diambou hit the post. 0-0 at half-time, we felt we'd just about shaded it. I made a couple of substitutions. Four minutes after the restart, substitute Joakim Berg Nundel sent in a low cross from the left and Lasse Nordås side-footed the ball into the net. We defended well and FC Utrecht never really threatened Jasper Torkildsen's goal. I thought we always looked the most likely to score and Anders Hartveit Ryste doubled our lead on 90 minutes. It's only half-time, with the second leg back in Norway at our SR-Bank Arena still to play, but we've put ourselves in a great position. We'll give the players a day off and then prepare for our Eliteserien opener at home to Strømsgodset. --

Stuniverse
Preview - Strømsgodset (home) Eliteserien -- -- Spoiler That's quite a record that stretches back earlier than me joining Viking. We've trained well, prepared well, and with our own supporters cheering us on inside the SR-Bank Arena, hopefully we can keep that record going. Although, I'm sure, Strømsgodset manager Petter Sjåholm and his team will be doing all they can to try and put that record to bed. I'm fortunate to have two great goalkeepers here and Jasper Torkildsen and Hans Jørgen Solberg will share the gloves this season. But, yes, as my vice-captain I have a complete trust in Jasper Torkildsen. Spoiler We were favourites last season, I was pretty bullish about our chances when asked last season, and we didn't handle that pressure very well and had a disappointing league campaign by our standards. So, this season, I won't be making rash predictions like that but, yes, we want to be challenging for the Eliteserien title and we're confident we can do much better than last season. I normally say that's too simplistic but, after last season, when we were definitely disrupted by injuries and injuries to key players I have to concede that maybe there is something in that. No, not at all, because I don't have a strongest 11. I believe we have a quality squad here at Viking and we'll need all our players to contribute through what will be a long season. Spoiler It's disappointing this one has leaked out because we're confident the leak hasn't come from our end. Daniel Daga is a great player and, yes, we are in talks with Strømsgodset, Daniel and his agent, to see if we can do a deal to bring him to Viking, but it's a long way from a done deal yet. -- -- Expected Line-up
Stuniverse
Monday 13th March 2034 Viking v Strømsgodset Eliteserien -- -- -- Henrik Skogvold and Lasse Nordås both scored two goals. It would've been nice for Henrik to get a hat-trick but there's no guarantee he'd have scored a third if I'd left him on and I need him fit for the next match. This was a complete performance against Strømsgodset, in my opinion, and we were brilliant in all areas of the game. We scored four, and Anders Hartveit Ryste was unlucky that we didn't score five. Anders Hartveit Ryste hit a good penalty, maybe slightly too high, and Kike Moreno saved it at full stretch. There's a long way to go yet, this is only the first Eliteserien match but, after last season, I'm delighted that we were able to put on a show and win convincingly for our supporters inside the SR-Bank Arena. --

Stuniverse
Preview - FC Utrecht (home) Europa League Round of 16 Second Leg (Viking lead 2-0) -- -- We went to Stadion Galgenwaard in the first leg and played magnificently to win 2-0, but it's only half-time. That counts for nothing if we don't get the job done in the second leg. The atmosphere will be electric inside our SR-Bank Arena. We're confident, but we know FC Utrecht will be fired up for this one and we're expecting a tough match. My stance never changes on this. I'm under no pressure to sell my best players. Henrik Skogvold has been brilliant for us and I think he deserves a chance to play for Norway. -- Expected Line-up --
Stuniverse
Thursday 16th March 2034 Viking (Norway) v FC Utrecht (The Netherlands) Europa League Round of 16 Second Leg (Viking lead 2-0) -- -- -- -- Michael Kroon was excellent today, he put in a 8.7 Player of the Match performance and we couldn't score past him in 120 minutes. At the other end, even though I thought we were the better team and created more chances, Utrecht scored two to send it to extra-time. We peppered FC Utrecht's goal early on and Michael Kroon made some fine saves. Lasse Nordås headed against the bar on five minutes. We had two players on yellow cards so I made a couple of substitutions at half-time. FC Utrecht cleared off the line on 69 minutes to deny Lasse Nordås after great work down the left channel by Anders Hartveit Ryste. On 62 minutes Edvin Austbø looked to have scored but a Utrecht defender deflected the ball onto the post. At halftime in extra-time, still 2-2 on aggregate, we made our last substitution and went for it a bit more. It's tough. On 114 minutes Bork Bang-Kittilsen scored what we all thought was a perfectly good goal, but it was adjudged offside, Then it came down to penalties. First up, Anders Hartveit Ryste, and Michael Kroon makes a great save. After that, every penalty is saved and we're out of the Europa League. It's disappointing. Michael Kroon had a great game in Utrecht's goal but, to be fair, we didn't do enough. An incredible 29 attempts on goal but we only got nine on target. I'm very happy here at Viking and get on well with Chairperson Kjell Fjæreide. The 2033/34 UEFA Europa League is, effectively, last season so now we go again with this season. --

Stuniverse
Preview - Tromsø (away) Eliteserien -- -- Yes, our record against Tromsø is very good but that means nothing. Tromsø had a good 3-1 away win over Sarpsborg on opening day and they'll be wanting to follow that up in front of their own fans today in their Romssa Arena. Henrik Skogvold will be out a while and that's a big blow. Joakim Berg Nundal will get a chance to impress today. I had to have a word with Tinius Sundell about his recent performances in training. I need to see more from him. -- Expected Line-up
Stuniverse
Sunday 19th March 2034 Tromsø (4th) v Viking (1st) Eliteserien -- -- -- There's nothing like an early goal to settle the nerves and unsettle the opposition. And what a goal, Daniel Daga, on his debut, hit a beautiful defence splitting pass, Anders Hartveit Ryste took one touch to round the goalkeeper and rolled the ball into an empty net. Two goals from Joakim Berg Nundal and one from Edvin Austbø set us up very nicely at 4-0. Tromsø never looked like scoring until we gifted them a goal. Jasper Torkildsen came for a cross, flapped and missed it, Ove Benjamin Modell made a lame clearance that went straight to Martin Leegaard who scored. They then got a second, late on, when we didn't defend a low cross into our box well enough. Overall, we deserved the win. With an international break coming up, we'll say goodbye to our international players and give the rest of the squad some time off. --
