CMU Chips
St. Ives - Season 4 - Vanarama North - 1st Finally broke through and dominated the league, nearly from start to finish. I only say nearly because we actually lost the first game of the season despite having a much higher xG. We'd win 5 of the next 6 (including a 7-2 win) with one 0-0 draw before we topped the table for the first time. In matchweek 10 we dropped to 2nd on goal difference, but after we reclaimed the lead in matchweek 14 we never dropped off the top spot. We would finish the season with the most goals scored (117) and the 2nd fewest conceded (46) despite having the smallest average attendance (327). Because of the attendance issues, we continued to leak money (even with more than half our squad being non-contracts) but the board has been keeping us afloat and continued to do so. The cups showed that we were ready to go up last season in spite of our playoff loss. The FA cup run only ended in the second round away to Wrexham who finished 8th in League One. We held a lead in Wales for an hour before an incredible half-volley from a clearance and were denied a replay by a goal in 90+2'. The FA trophy saw similar heartbreak as we led away against Rochdale who missed the Vanarama National playoffs by 3 points before they scored in 90+3' and we missed 2 penalties in the shootout to fall 2-2 (4-3). This season I was more aggressive in benching underperformers as we finally had the depth to rotate properly. As mentioned above, half the team was on non-contract deals. They played well enough that I had to sign 3 to part time contracts just to dissuade them from leaving. Since I was all-in for promotion this year, our 2nd highest paid player going in to the season (third highest by the end) only made 4 appearances. He was outplayed by a non-contract youth release from West Ham's academy who ended the year with 38 goal involvements in 43 competitive games. Lots of room for squad movement if we so choose before next year; only three players have part time deals that extend into next summer or beyond and they were all pretty good. Our ever-present DM (44 league appearances, 15 goal involvements, 7.08 average rating) is definitely the worst of these three in terms of ability but we will be very glad to have our top CM (31 goal involvements in 48 competitive games, 7.16 average rating) and the potential player of the year RW (33 goal involvements, 45 competitive games, 7.29 average rating) returning. Many decisions still need to be made: Our LW was non-contract all season and looked to be little more than a pace merchant but was part of 36 goals in all competitions. He may not be good enough to make the step up. Our GKs were a rotation between a loan player and a player on an expiring deal that suffered a damaged neck late in the season and missed the final month and a half. It's possible that neither of them return, leaving us searching for a replacement who will likely be playing in front of an entirely new defense. Still, the fact that we were so dominant in this league (only 5 losses all year, all to top half teams) and nearly beat two higher division teams leaves me cautiously optimistic. In personal news. the board finally let me study and receive my National C at the start of the year. Once the title was secured I asked for them to pay for a National B and they said yes so that should be finishing right as the next season begins. DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2024/25 Kingstonian Season Summary A season for the ages as we stormed to the league title and promotion and enjoyed a fabulous F. A. Cup run, making it through to the third round. Season Details League Table - We went top early on and never looked back. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - As usual, consistency is the key as we churned out the victories. F. A. Cup - We made it all the way to the third round before losing narrowly at home to Championship side Cardiff City. F. A. Trophy - A decent run that was ended by divisional rivals Bath City as they knocked us out on penalties after a hard fought draw on their patch. Friendlies - Considering the strength of out opponents, the fact we only lost three games was as surprising as it was welcome. Squad - We have an exciting young squad though further additions are required if we are to challenge again. Squad Dynamics - This is rather good. Transfers In 1 & 2 - The squad was overhauled and improved all across the pitch. Transfers Out - Just three players left for other clubs as the majority of the squad were let go on free transfers. Youth Candidates - I was promised an excellent intake and whilst I wouldn't go that far, iot was very good, with goalkeeper Morgan Price YP25A1 leading the way. Finances - We made a good profit this year, which was largely down to our F. A. Cup run. Key Players Alex Cetiner - Comfortable on either wing, the Irishman was incredible, scoring 29 goals and assisting in another 26. Chike Kandi - Deployed either up front or on the right wing, he also had an brilliant season. Kyle Kenniford - The Welsh central midfielder was solid throughout the year. Alex Bannon - Playing as either a right back or central midfielder, he was terrific whenever called upon. Elidon O'Boyle - I took a punt on the Albanian teenage striker as I signed him on loan from Millwall. It is safe to say he repaid my faith. Next Season I am not sure what to expect. I would love another promotion though our budgets are so small. DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2025/26 Kingstonian Season Summary An excellent league season that ended in heartbreak at Wembley Stadium. The less said about the cups, the better. Season Details League Table - It was a very tight division with seven clubs involved in the title race for most of the campaign. We were not consistent enough and our lack of experience proved to be costly as we finished fourth. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - Our form deserted us in the final stretch and the home defeat to eventual champions Swindon Town proved to be crucial as we had to settle for a promotion playoff spot. Promotion Playoffs - We did well in making it through to the final before being completely outclassed by Barnet, who beat us by three clear goals. F. A. Cup - There was no repeat of the cup run from last season as a shock home defeat by South Shields, who play in the tier below us, dumped us out of the competition at the first round stage. F. A. Trophy - We were also poor in the F. A. Trophy, losing on penalties at home to Wealdstone in the third round. Friendlies - We only lost two matches and we claimed some big scalps in a highly successful pre season campaign. Squad - We are a very young squad though with obvious room to grow. Squad Dynamics - It is still rather good. Transfers In 1, 2, 3 & 4 - As is now the norm, the squad was overhauled though we had to predominently rely on teenagers as our budgets are so small in comparison to our peers. Transfers Out 1, 2 & 3 - I allowed three talented youngsters to depart for nominal fees as I hope the sell on clauses will prove to be fruitful. Youth Candidates - Striker Lee Brown YP26B6 is regarded as the brightest prospect out of a decent intake. Finances - Thanks to our appearance at Wembley, we made a very healthy profit once again. Key Players Labros Michail Konstanti - A full international for Cyprus, the striker had a decent campaign. Max Bardell - The defender was our best player this year. Marc Leonard - Still aged only 24, the former Under 21 international for Scotland is capable of so much more. Logan Briggs - Highly versatile, I used him on either wing or inc entral midfield, he is capable of being both bnrilliant and anonymous. Daniel Cox - Our only loanee this year, the Derby County central defender enjoyed his season with us. Next Season I would love to push for automatic promotion. Rullom
Hornchurch Season 9 | 2032/33 Into the promised land League / Cup / Trophy Spoiler Championship: Not entirely sure what Burnley are up to with their finances, (administration and deducted 12 points), but for once, are we NOT predicted dead last by the media. Expect the unexpected, that should be Hornchurch motto, as we win promotion to the promised land with 3 games left in the season, and we also claim the title for a third time in a row, with 1 game left in the season. Surprised? I suppose we shouldn't be anymore. FA Cup: Big pay day arrived. Not only did we get Man City, who made a big mistake in playing their backup players in the first game, which lead to us taking the biggest scalp in the teams' history, with a draw in the first game, and taking the second game all the way to extended time, before we finally capitulated. Around 1 million from just those two games. That is a win in my book. Carabao Cup: Defeated by Bournemouth in the second round. Schedule Results Spoiler Squad Overview Spoiler First team: Under 21: A thing I find hilarious and stupid about FM, is how players who are on 1000 wages p/w, all of a sudden getting promoted to the Premier League, think they are good enough to demand 16k in wages going into contract renewal negotiations. Let’s just say, that is a slight bit unrealistic for a club like ours (highest is 4.7k this season for Beineon Brouder), so there will be no new contracts for any of the players, as this is a similar story for all players having contracts running out in the summer, and any players demanding new contracts, with the same ridiculous demands, will either be sold or loaned out to not have it influence the squad negatively. In other words, these players, are also nowhere near good enough to demand such wages, but we might end up spending such amounts on new and better players, which in return might turn a bigger profit down the line (or just directly improve the squad) Fan's Player of the Season: Leo Shahar, also most assist with 12. Signing of the season: James Hill Young player of the season: Stu Gaughran, also most PoM with 5, and highest rating of 7.29. Top Goal Score: Pedro Roxo with 18, making him our lead goal score at the club with 62 goals in total, in any league. Tactics Spoiler 4-2-3-1 DMBalanced V12 - Only change, is playing with a ragista. Manager Profile Spoiler Club details Spoiler Board: Well, we didn’t get the new stadium in the summer, but instead here at the end of the season, when we gained promotion. But, we don’t know much about it yet, except they are planning to have under-soil heating, or maybe that is in the old stadium? Hard to tell. Still no takeover, which is a bit of a surprise. Supporters: 1902 supporters, well we are a bit of a joke in the Premier League next season. Transfers: So, nothing to big here. Which meant, that getting new training facilities was also going to be tricky. Thankfully, the FA cup game against City, kind of saved us when it came to money coming in. Transfers in before reset: Released: Finances: Welcome to the promised land. Though, for most of the season we were not turning a profit, up until the City FA cup game, which put us over 1 million, and now with sponsors, winning the league and gaining promotion yet again, we are really pushing the boundaries of what we can do. As you can see, we were spending around 64k in wages on players, and already early on in the summer, that have been pushed to 136k committed with my current transfer business. Staff: I did bring in a couple of new faces for the season, but now when we move up yet again, the board automatically gave us room for more staff members. Medical 100% need a facelift, and I could also easily pay for a full coaching team including all the youth (though they are not really needed yet, as we only got a 5-6 youth players, whom are going out on loan most likely.) Goals & predictions: Spoiler 9th season goal - Sure, why not. Another title, expect the unexpected is going to be the new motto. 9th season prediction - Like I said, I don’t even know what to predict. I was way off, once more. 10th Season goal: - Establish ourselves in the Premier Division. Which means, earning a ton of money and hopefully survive. 10th Season prediction - Winning the league? Nah, I’m not sure the tactic is that broken, or my skills to make the right in game calls for that matter. So I’m going to predict a top 10. SaintsFCFan7498
Basingstoke Town 2033/34: We Survived Spoiler Premier League: 8th FA Cup: Third Round - Lost to Norwich City EFL Cup: Third Round - Lost to Chelsea What can I say? We survived and survived comfortably. So comfortably, we've got a Basingstoke in Europa Conference song coming up. Not really but inspired by this obviously. We're the biggest club on the South Coast. With great wins including both home and away against Man United, a great goal from the Faroese Right Winger Soren Smith to show we're here to be serious to take the lead in our first game at home to Chelsea. We didn't struggle in the Premier League as I feared. Though that might be helped by us making 15 signings, some people did remain. Key players from Championship promotion were relegated to the bench and only Soren Smith retained his starting place through to the end of the season. In the cups, we showed promise against West Brom with a comfortable 4-1 win in the Second Round of the EFL Cup but that was quickly diminished by eventual winners Chelsea. In the FA Cup, we were awful against a Norwich side who lost to eventual finalists Ipswich in the Quarter Final. With the run they had, maybe a missed opportunity. After beating us, they played Wrexham, Crystal Palace and then Ipswich who then played West Ham. Very much a potential missed opportunity at a final there. It wouldn't have been a difficult run and that's how I feel about it. Otherwise, a fantastic season. Although there were small runs where I feared eventual relegation form, it never became a prolonged issue. Fortunately for us, we have a higher quality increase compared to clubs around us. Before 2040 for Champions League and FA Cup doesn't sound too unreasonable. But it's all about next season when clubs won't treat us like the happy go-lucky rag tag bunch of friends turning up the Premier League anymore. We're the sole representative of the Premier League in the Europa Conference League. With that, I wouldn't mind a repeat of 8th. The Europa Conference League might be winnable for us. Spoiler There's also some stadium news. When I noticed we had £36m in the bank, I knew upgrades would be plentiful then this came in. Expansion by around 9k seats. As annoying as it would be having to use Reading's stadium for an entire season, the benefits will be longer-term. Just regularly upgrading the Youth and Training facilities to properly come. Faramir
Season 6- 2029/2030 1st Season Championship It certainly wasn't a perfect season for us, as we struggled to a total of 14 draws, but we only lost 6 matches and finished 2nd to Norwich in gaining promotion to EPL. We started out well, but our midseason was a bit of a stumbling mess due to a few factors. The first was loaning Eduardo Benfica (again) from Man City- but only loaning him until mid-season (my fault, I didn't notice it was midseason) and then him refusing to return for the remainder of the season on loan. He gave us stability on the leftwing when here and played well, so it was definately a blow to lose him. Compounding that was the other leftwinger is our immensely talented 19 year old Paraguayan Fabien Riquelme and he started getting upset at midseason that I kept turning down pittance offers for him from Premier sides. He spent the 2nd half of the season being not especially productive and it cost us a bit in the clubhouse morale wise and as I refused all offers for not only him, but Federico Parilla (our 20 year old Argentine striker) and Federico Danneman (our 20 year old Argentine Rightback). All three are worth way more than what offers we were receiving (and both Danneman and Riquelme had received Work Permits) and as we are a bit flush with cash- due to by far the lowest payroll in Championship (ours was 189K a week, while Leicester's is 3.1 Million a week) the Board didn't force us into any acceptance. All of that turmoil slowed us down, but we had such a good run in to the transfer window that I was willing to undergo the morale issues to be sure to keep them. Now that we move to the Premier next season, if I get the kind of offers I should be getting for at least Riquelme (he is the most upset of the three), I will consider them. Our promotion was spearheaded by Kenny Morgan who had an even better 2nd season with us after we snagged him on free from Arsenal. Morgan was Championship Player of the Year, Golden Boot and by far the best player with 28 goals, 10 assists, 10 POM and a 7.53 rating. Parilla was a bit inconsistent (due to morale) but still showed he was a top-flight partner for Morgan with 18 goals, 9 assists, 5 POM and a 7.24 rating. With those two leading the way and also getting contributions from Omari Forson (13 goals), new addition Kevin Zefi (signed from Cork City on free- 7 goals) and Midfielder Leo Castledine (6 goals, 5 assists) we easily led the scoring in Championship with 115 goals, while only allowing 52- 3rd best. We benefited greatly from our pair of strong Rightwingers- wee Scot International Jamie Watt (4 goals, 11 assists) and loanee Nathan Geneste (from Grenoble) who also had 4 goals and 11 assists. Geneste agreed to join us next season as his contract was up at Grenoble. Riquelme pouted his way through a 2 goal, 3 assist season when he is certainly our best winger, Benfica had 2 goals, 6 assists in his half-season with us for comparison. We also got a late contribution from Rayan Daniels (who had played on loan from Aston Villa a couple seasons ago) as we purchased him for 240K to give us something at Leftwing down the stretch and he contributed 3 goals and 2 assists. We also got a part-time contribution from Mouhameth Mane who added 3 goals, 4 assists in limited action. Our central midfield revolved around Castledine and 21 year old Northern Irish International Mervyn O'Connor (5 goals, 2 assists, 7.04). Other contributors in the center were Sydie Peck, Pawel Ograbek and loanees Efe Uzoma (Man City, 1st half of the season) and Mark Hicks (Man City, 2nd half of the season). Our defense was very sound and based on the promotion of Alexi Rojas Fedorushchenko to #1 keeper. Matteo Chiacig continued to fill in well when Fedorushchenko was injured during the season. Danneman is a continually improving Rightback and even with morale issues, played solidly all season. Guilhereme Montoia continued to be a team leader and a steady presence at Leftback. Our main Center Defenders all played well- Jamal Mohammed, Tom McKenna and Zach Awe (who we brought back from Nimes in France for 200K at the first transfer deadline). That steady core kept us in many matches that we might have struggled with in the past. Looking ahead to the Premier- we haven't yet heard where we are going to play, since Aggborough isn't an option. We will also lose our Man City connection in moving to the same division. The one thing I am happy about is how this young core developed together this season. I will try to bring in a few additions, but overall if we don't get other players, this group can compete in the Premier. We will be way overmatched by the top clubs, but we should be able to battle against the mid-level and bottom clubs.
SaintsFCFan7498
Basingstoke Town 2034/35: Solidity? Cups? What mattered this season? Spoiler Premier League: 12th Europa Conference League: WINNERS FA Cup: Third Round - Lost to Chelsea EFL Cup: Final - Lost to Chelsea What an odd season. Although I feel like the league was more returning to the norm. Us getting Europa Conference League was and felt like a fluke. Do I care? Of course not. Though who really cares about a team who came 13th when they won a European title and lost in a Cup Final? The Premier League was the least interesting part. I did have small fears of Second Season Syndrome but honestly, I don't think much of it. Derby were initially atrocious with them surpassing their 2008 total on our second game in March where we lost. Then they reminded us that it was possible for Derby to be competent at this level despite all evidence. I also expected Bristol City to not surpass their own qualities. I didn't think much about relegation in all honesty. I'll leave Europe for last as I'll give one line on the FA Cup. Played Chelsea. They were better and won 3-1. Boring. The EFL Cup. Well. What a run that was. It wasn't starting out that way, though. Although we were better than Everton, it took until a 90th minute corner from a defender to win that tie. Then Leeds. Two goals in the 60-something minutes meant them scoring didn't matter. Then Wolves. They were relegated last season so you'd think a nice easy game, right? Ha. No. Have you met me? Misery and near-calamity at every turn but somehow I avoid it. We were 2-0 down and it wasn't deserved. A goal in the 47th minute gave us a lifeline. Then a red card for them in the 69th minute made me think we should win. But we had to score. When did we? 96th minute penalty of six injury time minutes. Then we scored all of our penalties in the shootout to win 5-4 on penalties. Spoiler The draw couldn't go much better. Chelsea drew (and beat) Man City. We drew (and beat) Man United. Somehow, we won 3-0 at home with the third being in the 93rd minute. Take notes. This will be important later. If you had seen my Championship updates, you'll know about Second Leg Basingstoke. In the first half, it was fine. We scored first and they equalised but we made it 2-1. Easy, right? No. First half injury time, they level the scores into halftime. In the 61st minute, they score again. And again in the 67th. I'm in panic mode by this point. I knew what had come before me. Watford, West Brom. Not today. No more goals and that goal from earlier prevents Extra Time. The final itself was exciting despite the scoreline. Both teams had the chances to sneak a win in Normal Time. But it was somehow still 0-0. We gave away a penalty in the 104th minute and my heart sunk. But new keeper Riascos ended the match with an 8.3 and it was partially the penalty save. Then almost immediately after, the ball is in our net. Chelsea score. But it's offside. The second half of injury time had seen a fairly split quantity of chances and neither seemed interested in penalties. We had a throw-in near their box in the 120th minute. It wasn't long before what came after. Another highlight. Chelsea throw-in near our box. The last kick of the game. We're 1-0 down. Deflated. I took comfort in the fact we fought for that result. It wasn't without our desire that we lost. They're just better. Spoiler Now. Europe. What a fun time this was. We dispatched of AIK fairly easily in the Fourth Qualifying Round. The League Stage was simple. Win games. We were unbeaten but we drew against Koln (note that for later) and Hearts. Both 2-2 draws at home. Sometime in that League Phase, I looked at our rivals and they were Genoa, Villarreal and Koln. Maybe a run from an underdog team but that didn't even eventually materialise. It was a boring Europa Conference League for the neutral. In the Round of 16, we beat Midtjylland 7-3. As a real life Saints fan, some revenge on this team is nice. In the Quarter, we got Charleroi. Fairly comfortable again where we won 4-1 on aggregate. So the Semis were us/Koln and Villarreal/Genoa. Boring, I know but it's not entirely my fault. A 1-1 draw in Cologne gave us a great opportunity. When we went 2-0 up inside 14 minutes, I felt comfortable. Though they scored to pull one back in the 38th, it didn't matter. We were European Finalists. We played Genoa who needed Extra Time to beat Villarreal. I wanted an early goal to settle my nerves and it arrived through a Fabricio header from a defended cross from Cabrera. Great cross and exactly what I needed. Outside of the goals, it was fairly dull. Calabrese continued his Poacher antics from last season to make it 2-0 and Fabricio did it again. As the clock wound down, I saw no opportunities for Genoa. duccio
If Wikipedia is correct and I'm understanding it correcly, promotion to National League North/South should be 2 clubs from each of the 4 feeder leagues. This is not happening in the game in consistent manner. Often a dissimilar number of teams are promoted from the different regional competitions (as demonstrated below). I looked at the bug forum, but cannot see if this been reported there. KV60CAV
Not played FM properly for years but getting fed up of playing the same "football game" so thought today is the day I restart the FM journey, never properly done this challenge but fancy starting this instead of taking over Newcastle. KV60CAV
First season complete! We managed to clinch a top 5 finish which was fantastic after being predicated 22nd, after a tricky start to the season, we accidentally stumbled onto a formation that set us on our way. We lost in the Semi’s to Oxford who fully deserved to be promoted! We managed to sign some good players from the released Prem youth players who all completed successful trials with us before being offered a contract. Best players by far being Curley and Moorhouse. Moorhouse scoring 28 goals in total, with Rodwell-Grant grabbing 24 goals. Currently about to start Season 2 and we have the EFL clubs after Curley & Moorhouse. Deal agreed for Curley £80k with 35% sell on fee, we were then kindly offered him back on loan for the following season which we snapped up. We have also just reluctantly accepted a massive £100k bid for Moorhouse who wants to step up to the championship. We are currently recruiting young players again and have offered some contracts in the hope of another promotion push.

SaintsFCFan7498
Basingstoke Town 2035/36: Europa League Winners Spoiler Premier League: 10th Europa League: WINNERS FA Cup: Quarter Final - Lost to Tottenham EFL Cup: Second Round - Lost to West Brom I'd say there were positives in all competitions but not really much to discuss. We didn't get as far in a domestic cup but we did a solid job. Getting to the Quarter Final and needing to beat Everton and Arsenal isn't bad going. We were just poor against Tottenham to do anything against them and they dominated. In the league, we got 10 more points on 58 from 48. The Europa League is where things get interesting however. I realised most of the way through the knockouts that we were unbeaten in Europe in our two seasons whilst winning all 8 games in the Europa League League Phase. We made more difficulty of Ludogorets in the First Leg of the Round of 16 than anybody. Two injury time goals from them got them a fortunate draw against us heading back to Roman Road. We then won 4-0. Shakhtar Donetsk were next. They weren't difficult. A comfortable 3-1 win away meant a tight, nervy 1-0 win was fine when we knew we'd play either Saints or Villarreal in the Semi Final. Villarreal won that and we were headed to a comfortable 2-0 win away before a late penalty gave them a lifeline. We went 2-0 up inside 11 minutes at home so we were in the final fairly comfortably. It was really a game of two parts. In the first 65 minutes, it was a nervy affair until we brought on Slavko Milojic. He made it 2-0 in the 69th and eased the nerves. Frustratingly, we had an injury in the 70th to bring us to 10 men. I went more conservative and Newcastle became desperate. A fresh Slavko Milojic took advantage with a hattrick despite Newcastle causing slight concerns with a goal in the 78th minute. Onto the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the other thing I've never been involved in with the COMNEBOL team. BillHoudini24
Basingstoke Season 2024/25: Vanarama South National League South: 9th - Predicted last FA Cup: 4th Qualifying Round against Barnet FA Trophy: Third Round against Taunton Town A statistical summary of the first season. A lot of goals, a lot of cards and a surprising high attendance. If we fix our defense, we'll be one of the contenders for promotion. It was pretty good first season. The best players of the original squad either retired, or left. I made a few signings and aimed for survival. The reality was quite different, as we started the season with a 7-game unbeaten streak, which placed us 1st. We ended up fighting for the play offs all year, but we fell short in the end by 4 points. The cups were rather uneventful, which was bad for our finances. Our squad was just too small to compete. Top performers: Sam Argent - It's one of those classic cases you encounter on LLM football. I don't know how, but he scores a lot and he's always involved in key highlights. Gave us 30 goals in all competitions, but he's retiring during the summer, so we need a new striker. Fabian Reynolds - The classic pacy player with high flair. He caused a lot of trouble to the opposing defenses, he scored 12 goals and provided 14 assists. I already renew his contract, so he'll be our starting IF on the left. Ollie Starkey - More all around player than Reynolds, but slower. Showed his quality throughout the season with 18(!) assists. Ewan Clark - I don't know how he signed with us, but he was the best player on the team based on attributes. Scored a lot (12 goals) as a Mezzala, while also being a creative option with 8 assists. He doesn't want to sign a new contract, so we'll have to replace him. Here is my first intake. Nothing spectacular, but maybe 2 or 3 of these players can be rotation options in a couple of years. Jordan Murray (23a) - I have no expectations during the first intakes, but let's see how Murray (24a) develops. If he was a bit faster he could be part of the squad already. Unfortunately no badges for me yet, even though all my staff is studying for qualifications. Very frustrating, but at least my attributes are growing and I got a new contract. The goal for next year is to get to the playoffs. I beat most teams above me in season 1, which allows for some optimism. BillHoudini24
Basingstoke Season 2025/26: Promotion to Vanarama National National League South: 1st FA Cup: 4th Qualifying Round against Southend FA Trophy: Second Round against Tonbridge A statistical summary of the season: We started well and never really looked back. We had a huge dip in form towards the end with too many draws, but managed to get promoted without playing the playoffs. In the cups we had a pretty bad season because of our small squad and the focus on the league. Again, my finances got a huge hit because of that. Top performers: Bradley Wilson - Same case as Argent last year. The attributes just don't tell the whole story. He scored 38 goals in the league, averaged 7.28, he carried us to Vanarama National. What a season! Fabian Reynolds - The classic pacy player with high flair returns. He showed that he's not a "one season wonder", he provided 18 assists and 11 important goals. Ollie Starkey - Another great season for Ollie! He scored 10 goals this year and had 12 assists. The second intake was nothing to be excited about. I only kept this lad, but I doubt we'll use any academy products in the near future. After being awarded as the best manager of the year in our division, I got a new contract and my first coaching badge. Onward and upward. It was a year full of awards and records for us. Next year we consolidate in the Vanarama National, while slowly upgrading our squad. Edited January 21 by BillHoudini24

KV60CAV
Macclesfield Season 2025/26: National League North: 3rd FA Cup: 3rd Qualifying Round against Kettering FA Trophy: Second Round against King's Lynn Well we finished the season in 3rd place, offered the Wigan job in December which we turned down as we have a project going at Macclesfield. We made it to the Playoff Finals only to be smashed by 2nd place Kidderminster 4 - 1. We worked our way through 3 formations this season, I think we need to new formation for season 3 we again signed players released from Academy's. I think season 3 we need to try and bring in 1 or 2 better rated players to help us with our fight for promotion. Also we need to look at the loan market and maybe signing a player who has better set piece stats to turn these chances into goals. I've also now bagged my Continental B Licence and just started work on the A License which i should have by the end of Season 3. GrayMatter
Has anyone managed to load up a save and get Hashtag United yet? Their reputation is pretty low, I'd imagine it's quite rare that they will get promoted but would boast quite the challenge. On the contrary, I have started with Radcliffe, currently 6th in the league around the half-way point. Using an intricate tactic for Vanarama North but with a big man up-front, finding form quite nicely.

Tiki Tak'n Turner
Quote Go on holiday until 24th May (this is when the promoted clubs are decided), save the game then go on holiday until 24th June (this is when the promoted clubs are revealed). Repeating these steps will give you a new set of clubs to pick from. useful tip, switch autosave off before this step otherwise weekly autosaves will overwrite May 24th file
BillHoudini24
Basingstoke Season 2026/27: Consolidation in Vanarama National Vanarama National: 8th FA Cup: 1st Round against AFC Wimbledon FA Trophy: Fifth Round against Eastbourne Borough We had a very good season, we even challenged for the play offs at some point, but ultimately, our lack of squad depth caught up with us. Another bad year in the cups means that our finances are not healthy. Our U-18 team won their league! Is it a sign of potential, a good tactic, or the rest of the teams are just bad? Top Performers: Kyriakos Sofokleous - This is the craziest transfer I ever did on a Dafuge Challenge. He was opting out of his contract and I spent my entire budget on him (50k). He's by far the best player in the history of the club, when he's on he wins games by himself. His weaknesses are the physicals and his consistency, otherwise he would have gotten us promoted already. Championship teams are already interested in him, but he doesn't want to leave, so we're good for now. I'll try to get as much as possible for him when it's time. Brad Wilson - A striker from the original squad, he keeps on banging goals in the next level as well. He scored 19 goals with 7/7 pens, but I feel like we can upgrade in this position. Fabian Reynolds - He keeps on performing after the promotion, despite his star rating. He had 10 goals and 8 assists. Again, I think we could improve in his position, but I'll get to it later in this post. Finances - Huge problem. We are not in the red, but we have one of the lowest wage budgets in the league. The average is twice(!) as much. I am not an FM expert, so I simply cannot compete for promotion under those conditions. I'll either have to sell Sofokleous, or get lucky in the cups at some point. We cannot get promoted like this, I say this because I am already in the next season and I basically did a couple of transfers, there is no room for anything else. Teams asking us to pay wages for most loans don't help either. Here is my profile after 2 coaching badges. The goal for next season would be to challenge for promotion, but I don't see it happening unless we change our financial situation. We'll be in the Vanarama National for a while. KV60CAV
Macclesfield Season 2026/27: National League North: 4th FA Cup: 4th Qualifying Round against Hartlepool FA Trophy: Fourth Round against South Shields Well for the 3rd season running we made the playoff's and for the 3rd season running we have not been promoted. Hopefully next season we can finally break free of the North and make it to the National League but who knows... Looking at our squad we need to bring in better players, namely a new RB, LB & LM. I've also just completed my Continental A License and just started on the Pro License which will take another 12 months. Our finances are looking healthy with £1.1m in the bank, and our 2 CM's are now part of the clubs Favourite personnel. Hopefully we will be able to keep hold of our better players which are attracting bigger clubs.
Cloondawg
Season 1 (2024/25) - Vanarama National League North Competitions: Overview Vanarama National League North (Table| Results): Board Expectation: Attempt to avoid relegation. Season Preview Odds: 9th (17-2). Finish: 1st. A great start to the season had us up near the top of the league and then a flawless October and November allowed us to move top and build a gap between the rest of the teams. We just kept on winning and cruised to the title which was sealed in March. FA Cup (Results): Finish: Knocked out in Fourth Qualifying Round by Halifax Easy wins against Heybridge and King's Lynn set us up with a tough tie away to Halifax who are a league above us. This proved too difficult and we went out in a closely fought tie with a 3-1 defeat. FA Trophy (Results): Finish: Knocked out in Third Round by AFC Fylde Our stay in the FA Trophy was short lived. We managed to get through against Bury Town in the Second Round, but then we were narrowly beaten by AFC Fylde of the National League 3-2. Club: Squad | End of Season Awards: The squad remained injury free and I was able to rotate quite well, having quite a solid second XI. I also played my back ups in the cups so that I could really concentrate on promotion. Transfers: I made a lot of free transfer signings to fill the squad up because the one I inherited was quite bare. A lot of my non-contract players were released when they got injured or when they weren't performing and then replaced with new non-contracts. Board/Supporter Feedback: Expected to attempt to avoid relegation in the Vanarama National. Was offered a new 1 year extension with another year if we got promoted which could now extend my stay until at least 2027. Key Players: Tom Fellows - Signed at the end of October when he finally wanted to join on reasonably wages and also signed a 2 year deal so will be playing again next season. Had 24 assists which was the best in the league. Udoyen Akpan - He was at the club when I arrived and 30 league goals whilst winning Vanarama National League North Player of the Year. Leslie Adekoya - Top goalscorer in the league and formed a great partnership with Akpan. Scored 34 league goals to get the Vanarama National League North Golden Boot. Ayden Garrigan - Signed on loan from Preston who are my parent club so there were no wages. At only 17 he became the club's youngest goalscorer and had a great season, rotating on the right wing once Fellows arrived at the club. Jack Moorhouse - The 18 year old was snapped up after being released by Man Utd. He scored a huge 16 goals as a box-to-box midfielder with a lot of them being penalties. Best Youth Intake Player: I signed a few youth players and this was the best one - David Edwards Overall Best Eleven: Garrigan shown as a central midfielder even though he hardly played there Finances: It looks ok for now! Manager Profile: Completed my National C when I was finally allowed to start it by the board. Currently studying towards the National B license. BillHoudini24
Basingstoke Season 2027/28: Closer, but still far Vanarama National: 5th FA Cup: 4th Qualifying Round against Aveley FA Trophy: Quarter Final against Torquay A statistical summary of the season - We made some progress, but the squad did not have the quality or the depth to make it to the end. We had a good campaign in the FA Trophy, but a disappointing one in the FA Cup. Our finances looked good, but became waaay better when: HUGE sale! Granted, he's the best player we ever had at Stoke, but the money was just too good to turn down and we got him for another year. To put things in perspective, with that much money I was able to rebuild my squad, get another coaching license, upgrade the Youth Level and the Junior Coaching. He's just a favorite personnel for the team, but he's a legend in my book. I hope we can get him back at some point. After this outstanding event, we go back to the usual format. Top performers: Richard Macrae - A loan from Portsmouth, he contributed as soon as he joined the club. 17 goals and 2 assists in 35 games were enough for me to renew his loan. Fabian Reynolds - He's now getting into the cult legend territory. His attributes are definitely not for that level, but he's the player with the most output for our team so far. 37 goals and 56 assists so far, I am sure we will remember him down the line as the player who got us into the professional leagues. Finally, I also had the first offers from other teams, Charlton from the Championship and C.D Tondela from Portugal. Next year we need to get promoted. No more excuses, the money is there, the roster is there, we kept Sofokleous for another year. We need to go for it.

Crispypaul
Horsham FC I have basically done five seasons already so will do a quick run through. National League South - 2024/25 - 1st Competitions As usual had a mass clearout and acquisition of players, had an amazing season overtaking some pretty big and professional clubs for this level and winning the title. Also picked up the FA Trophy which was an extra bonus. We moved to Dorking's stadium (and not Crawley's for some reason) rather than expanding ours. National League - 2025/26 - TBC (can't remember..) Competitions Another very competitive season where we got into the play offs but lost out before the play off final. National League - 2026/27 - 1st Competitions A three figure points haul this season to give us promotion and the title, when we also turned professional. League Two - 2027/28 - 1st Competitions Another title and another promotion, as is often the case in this league, again with a large points total and thanks to some pretty good loan signings. League One - 2028/29 - 2nd Competitions Another successive promotion! Although no league title this time as Oxford pipped us right at the last game. Hopefully we'll stop for a bit now as we're having a reputation drag. We have moved however into a new 14,000 capacity stadium, sensibly the club built one with a good capacity from the get go. DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2026/27 Bamber Bridge Season Summary It was quite simply, a sensational season. DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2027/28 Bamber Bridge Season Summary We were, on the whole, superb once more as we won the League One title and the promotion that comes with it. We did our best to throw it away though, losing at home to bottom half sides like Shrewsbury Town (after beating them 11-0 away from home earlier in the campaign). Another deep F. A. GrayMatter
Radcliffe My profile: https://imgur.com/a/czcA9Uc Been playing the save for a while now, but thought I'd update seeing as though I'm really enjoying it. Vanarama National League North Found it really difficult personally, the starting squad was of course not very brilliant and some players left after promotion from the Evo-Stik Premier League due to unreasonable demands. Picked up Mateusz Musialowski, Ethan Wheatley and Rory Powell who were all revelations in their respective positions. Started the season as draw specialists, picked up towards the end but couldn't get close to South Shields and Spennymoor in 2nd and 1st respectively. Eventually usurped South Shields in the play-off final, rode our luck but embraced squad overhaul upon being promoted. Vanarama National League Simply just ran away with it after being shrewd in the free market. Mo Faal came in from West Brom and scored 38 in 44. Tommi O'Reilly from Man City was instrumental in our midfield with 23 goal contributions in 39 games. Rory Powell departed for £110k mid-season which generated a fair bit of income for us and we managed to draw in some money with a half-decent FA Cup run where West Ham stopped us in our tracks. League Two Started exceptionally well, hammering everyone which bodes well for another back-to-back promotion. Tactics Squad has been assembled with pretty much all free transfers. Tactic is one I've used over the course of various saves and works a treat in overloading and creating lots of chances. Connor Gemmill is the only player I've signed for a transfer fee, who randomly popped in my inbox courtesy of my scout. He arrived from Cumbernauld Colts in the lower leagues of Scotland, how my scout found him, I have no idea but he was only £1.8k and I'd say he's potentially Championship standard at some point in the future.
Andrew Haines
I had four attempts at this last year and failed every time in League One. Twice Guiseley fired me in League One and with Hastings and Lewes I lost interest after a substantial number of years stuck in League One. I'm going to have another go as Guiseley. I have a season ticket at Guiseley in real life so I'll see if I can take them to glory. profile
Andrew Haines
AFC Guiseley National League North - 2024/25 – 8th Squad Transfers Overview Not a terrible start where we fell short of the play-offs and promotion but did win the FA Trophy putting some money in the coffers for next year. Recruitment was tricky and the budget for the season had to initially be sunk into interim players who would be replaced eventually. I was able to pick up some quality including real life Liverpool wonderkid Jayden Danns (who is pretty decent in game for a 6th tier side). I was lacking in a number of positions though, particularly in defence where I had to plug gaps with sub-standard players eating up valuable wage budget. Form was inconsistent although a 2 month unbeaten run from November to January tantalised that we might get a run for the playoffs together. We kept winning in the FA Trophy though and finished the season with a 6-2 defeat of Dartford at Wembley. Key Players Jayden Danns – 19 year old Liverpool youth star signed on a free. Starting out at centre-forward before moving to the left wing he scored 31 goals. Andrew Haines
AFC Guiseley National League North - 2025/26 – 2nd Squad Transfers Overview A season where we played impressively all season collapsed at the last. Having competed all season with AFC Fylde and having the edge on them in the run in we looked on course to take the title. 3 defeats in the final 4 games though cost us top spot. In all fairness, even with that collapse 94 points would usually be enough for the championship but Fylde were very strong finishing on 97. A poor performance in the playoff semi against Tamworth at home saw the game go to penalties and we were defeated 6-7 and resigned to another season in the National League North. The team performed okay at the start of the season but we ended up playing catchup to the top teams. Big signings in October including Matty Longstaff (ex-Newcastle Midfielder) and released Newcastle players leftback Jordan Hackett and striker Michael Ndiweni pushed up the level and from there were were incredible consistent. We enjoyed a run to the FA Cup 3rd Round where we faced Hull City away. We gave them a good game but went down 3-2 in the end. The funds from Although not achieving promotion was a disappointment next season with this squad we should walk the league. Monitarily we should have good funds to invest Key Players Jayden Danns – Real life Liverpool wonderkid signed a new 3 year contract in the summer and scored 21 goals from the left wing. Emilio Lawrence – Signed from Man City the Scottish midfielder hit 19 goals from midfield. Andrew Haines
AFC Guiseley National League North - 2026/27 – 1st Squad Transfers Overview After disappointment last season in missing out on promotion, we were always going to be in with an expectation of promotion. Ultimately that expectation was met and we went up with 119 points. This was massively insisted when Emilio Lawrence, our star midfielder started attracting bids. Initial bids from Oldham negotiated up to £500k. Oxford matched that and I negotiated to £700k which I accepted. They then offered him back on loan for the season. This was a top result for us as it gave me significant funds to put into the team. I had to wait until October for a big signing but Michael Obafemi released by Southampton fitted the bill. Obafemi and Lawrence both went on to hit in excess of 22 goals with good support from Jayden Danns on the left wing with 17 and defensive midfielder Harrison Reed who notched 18, mainly from set pieces. We again had a good run in the FA Cup making the 3rd Round where we were eliminated with a 1-0 defeat at home to Oxford. Key Players Michael Obafemi – ex-Southampton forward scored 22 goals after signing on a free transfer. Emilio Lawrence – Sold to Oxford for £700k the Scottish midfielder was loaned back and scored 22 goals. Andrew Haines
AFC Guiseley National League - 2027/28 – 1st Squad Transfers Overview With a large kitty from player sales the previous season, I was able to invest in the first team which meant we could push on. The result of this was a second successive promotion as champions. We were run close all season though by Boston. Eventually we were promoted as champions with 109 points but Boston must also be aggrieved as they finished on 102 themselves ending up in the playoffs. With a £1.7m balance from player sales I had a significant wage budget available to me. I was able to bring in the likes of ex-West Brom striker Layton Love and ex-Leeds midfielder Daniel Batty. The club then invested pretty much my whole balance in new training facilities. This was good.. but did put the club in a precarious position as I had already invested those funds in the squad. Luckily, in October a big bid by Bolton for fullback Kaine Hesley-Hayden of £1.5m rescued the situation and put money in the kitty. This allowed me to sign Man United attacking mdielder Omari Forson and then in February I made a massive signing in Brendon Aaronson who had been on a free transfer since his release by Leeds. With the signing of Layton Love striker Michael Obafemi moved to play on the left wing from where he hit 14 goals, complimented by Forson’s 17 from the other wing. Love was not prolific but was reliable upfront, in the end adding 18 goals. A supporting cast of midfielders including Tyler Roberts, Daniel Batty and Joe Hodge also contributed double figures in goals. For a third successive season we made it to the FA Cup 3rd round where we drew an away tie at Southampton. We went down 2-0 but this helped again to keep us in the black. Key Players Omari Forson – Signed following his release by Man United, the attacking midfielder scored 17 goals from the right wing. Brendon Aaronson – ex-Leeds American midfielder signed on a free in February and should be a big signing. Andrew Haines
AFC Guiseley League Two - 2028/29 – 1st Squad Transfers Overview Another season, another promotion. Our third successive 1st place finish, not by a 100 point+ finish this time with a tight fought battle for the title going down to the final game of the season. Ultimately we finished ahead of Boston United for the title. The start of the season was a bit of a disaster. I hadn’t considered the rules for FFP and we were immediately up the limit. All my team were on part time contracts and the top players asking for £7-8k per week against a budget of £34k. I had to leave them on their existing contracts and rely on a handful of loan signings from my affiliated parent club Leeds United. Thankfully my top players from last season Omari Forson and Brenden Aaronson stepped up to the mark and the solid squad from last year was good enough to carry on the momentum. Key Players Omari Forson – Another good season for the ex-Man United attacking midfielder contributing 15 goals and 17 assists. Brendon Aaronson – The ex-Leeds midfielder hit and impressive 23 goals from central midfield.
