April & May 2031

We win our first two games in April to take it to the last 4, still 3 points clear of Derby County, so we are in the driving seat with what looks to be a kind set of fixtures, fingers crossed.

PromotionRunin.png.f68c3fab28c5cf6bd83e6fe63faab0b6.pngPromotionRunintable.png.ff20af678641d0909d0e5e069f6a1aab.png

We then mess the final 4 fixtures up, need Derby to Lose to Oxford at home was always too much to pin any hopes on, they go on to beat them 4-0 and surpass palace to take the title!

We are into the playoffs, which is an incredible achievement, but we was so close, it feels like we have given it away, especially after being unable to beat, Bolton, Barnsley and West Brom who have all struggled this year.

We will keep going though and aim to get through the playoffs!

Aron Driscoll will miss the playfoffs, a nightmare for us as the leagues top scorer will be unavailable.

Play Off Semi Final - A tight affair at Craven Cottage meant we had to overturn a 1-0 defecit at home, and although Freddie Davidson scored, it was not to be, without our talisman striker Driscoll we just didnt have the ability to score the goals we needed to turn the tie around.

A fantastic campaign comes to a bitter end, being so close, I think it will be tough to hit these heights again next season.

Final Season stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Aron Driscoll finishes as out top scorer with 29 goals, an unbelieveable return, we owe him for our achievements this year. Bessala finishes second with 12, then Lashley, from nowhere at the start of the season has cemented his place as the advanced playmaker on the right wing. Luke Harris has another supreme season in centre mid, with 7 goals and a crazy 18 assists, double of second place Bessala and left back Jack Currie.

End Of Season Review - 2030/2031

We had a few new arrivals, Special mentions go to , Aron Driscoll who was fantastic with 29 goals. Kemar Lashley came in and made the Right Wing spot his own, And Vlad Popdiuc was a rock at CB.

Championship - Definitely a season to remember, finishing 3rd in the championship is a fantastic achievment! Although we only just missed out on automatic promotion on the last day we should be very proud of our peformance again this year, I will aim to make the playoffs again this year if we can bring the right calibre of player in.

FA Cup - A great showing in the FA Cup, beating Premier League opostion in Aston VIlla, and giving NEWcastle a good game at St James park.

Finances - Another strong financial year, propped up by player sales, we are still one big sale away from securing the financial future of the club. But we have invested again this year, we are slowly improving the club.

Best Eleven - A good solid group of players, the main challenge will be to find a replacement for Driscoll up top, Matos in CM as he wants to go and maybe an upgrade between the sticks.

Season Preview 2031/32

We are now into our third year in the Championship, and the bookies have cut our odds sharply, from 250-1 last year to now 5-1. The media predictiton has us finishing 14th, which is comfortably safe.

My aim this season is for us to finish inside the play off places. We were bittely close last season and I would like us to try and get there again. I dont neccesarily think we are read to go up, or that we really should be competing to go up with the squad we have.

Our wage bill is still one of the lowest in the league. However with the relegated teams from the Premier League this season it doesnt seem as hard of a league, famous last words!

SeasonPreview.thumb.png.f4fae0d5153e171d9b26d3e00dd90446.png

Friendlies - A good set of friendlies, including a draw with Tottenham, Jaden Danns seemed to be in fine form also. We struggled to sign players this year as we are on the cusp of having to purchase plaers to truly improve the team, plus the loan market is difficult due to Premier League  youngsters being on astronomical wages, ie £40k plus at 18, but more on that later.

Friendlies.png.c932c13c6144b5cbfd627f8fc25b0b50.png

Club Info - Here is a breakdown of where the club is, we recently improved the Youth recruitment, I think at the end of the year or at the next big sale we should be improving both facilities in time for the new stadium in two years time.

ClubInfo.thumb.png.a8104c3eee8b6d889b2bfb62fce31e8e.png

Club Vision - The board want us to finish mid table, everything else doesnt really matter to them.

ClubVision.thumb.png.e6088f77dca8b2b40538fe32d1f6c043.png

Finances - Look healthy after a couple of player sales, however we are still predicted to finish with -£3million, meaning we will have a £15million loss this season, which is crazy. We dont have an decent clauses to cash in hence we may struggle to raise funds through the season unless someone goes in January, could be a tricky year for the books.

Finances.thumb.png.c8239e9ebec60cd58d1a08eab0ac86e8.png

As mentioned earlier the board approved the Youth recuitment enhancement.

2031/32 Transfers

A quieter window by out standards, normally we are doing a full overhaul of the squad each season, but this year, 4 have come in and 3 have gone out (permenantley).

Given this is the first time we have spend a 3rd year at the same level it doesnt come as a surprise that we are starting to settle the squad down. I think this will be a good thing for us and we can look to build a team and lay a foundation down to gain promotion to the Premier League.

We also struggled a lot more this season to bring players in, they either wanted too much money or went to a different club of a higher stature.

I think we are going to have to wait for a big player sale or for the stadium to be completed and our sponsorship to catch up with other teams in the league so that we can start to spend money to bring players in.

TransferHistory.thumb.png.1bdf263672d723af57f8cf13ccc62b58.png

Outs

Yaw Boakye - £3.4 million, release clause was triggered by numerous clubs, and Yaw picked Hull City. A fantastic deal for us, signed for free after leaving Peterborough, and completed two appearences last season. I think Hull must be able to see something in him that I cannot as I feel the players we have are much beeter than him.

YawBoakye.thumb.png.801d288e9455b9bf7e5ae5050350c62b.png

Alex Matos - He wanted to go through the majority of last season, and that really affected his performances. I was never prepared to pay him the £15k a week he was after so decided to cash in on him to enable me to spend that money elsewhere, and so we didnt let him leave on a free at the end of the season. Spezia snapped him up for £2.5 million and we wish him the best of luck, a great two year spell for Matos at the Flamingo Land Stadium.

Matosout.thumb.png.f21d323ea2c809d2a862a59cdaf4bac3.png

Sebastien Fernandez - He had a high value for his ability, and after signing a LB on loan, and Jack Currie as the rotation option there just wasnt space for Fernandez, so we willfully took the £1 million and he moves back to his homeland.

SebastienFernandezout.thumb.png.66222271dbd3045e7b5bae02b1f0d56c.png

Arrivals

James Cowling - Replacing Fernandez was Aston Villa Youngster James Cowling, brought in on loan for the entire season, He will progress with us and hopefully really come on, his physicals and mentals are fantastic for this level and I think he will become a brilliant player for us this year.

JamesCowling.thumb.png.ed70f2ad72f5294db99788bd9c16d5ad.png

Ciaren O'Conner - A quality keeper comes in, Johannson is starting to wind up his career at 33 and I needed a stronger option between the sticks, going forward we are fantastic but we need to tighten up at the back, Im hoping Ciaren can really help us keep thiose clean sheets.

CiarenOConner.thumb.png.7e1bda7212b730b7a09c7e99ec0fc7a8.png

Davide Bettella - After the loss of Dael Fry retiring at the end of last season I wanted to sign another experienced rotatoin option and Davide looks really good for only £4k a week.

DavideBettella.thumb.png.b80159d901bf4f528acd124527a1f74d.png

Haruneh Ibeh - A Manchester City starlet joins after the one they released chose to join Lorient permanently. Haruneh looks raw but talented, if he can improve throughout the season like Monaghan and Driscoll we are in for a treat, his pace will make him a real threat and we need to try and exploit that.

August 2031

The new season started off very well for us in the month of August. 2 wins, 3 draws and only 1 loss, albeit a disappointing one to Rotherham, we have to be happy as the team is still gelling together.

2-2 against Watford is a solid result away from home, before we despatched newly promoted Wrexham, Scanlon with 2 in 2 and Ibeh finding the net for the first time for us, he would carry on his form to end the month with 6 goals.

Another credible 2-2 away from home followed against Sunderland, Scott Twine then scored the winner against Luton at home, and we had a disappointing draw with Bristol City, where we struggled to create.

The final league game of the month was away to Rotherham and we just didnt turn up, they deservedly won 2-0, this result leaves us in 10th, which sounds worse than how I feel we have started.

We progressed easily in the cup, scoring 12 goals in two games.

AugustTables.png.271f013f26d5f59c8c695476fb60cfd4.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Haruna Ibeh starts off his spell here with 6 goals in 8 appearences, a fantastic return and a bit of a relief, Alfie Harrison heads the assists with 4, and Bessala sits just behind on 3.

AugustStats.png.887c3bad01f06cd8e534dff19b4bf6cc.pngAugustGoals.png.7acd04161cfd42069fe1fd809755721a.pngAugustAssists.png.70fc1d3955381372b0b1a9809120fa5c.png

Young Player of the month - Ibeh picks up young player of the month for the league.

YoungPlayerofthemonth.png.edf484246d5c697a08d18981cde97512.png

Player Feature - Two stand out performances from two rotation players we already had at the club in the cup. Firstly Alfie Harrision managed 4 assists in the 7-3 victory vs Harrogate, then Scott Twine scored a Hat-Trick against Charton. I think both of these lads will be important this year when they are covering for Bessala and Bashley, and to see them in for is fantastic for us.

September 2031

Were out of the League Cup on penalties after a 0-0 draw at home against Barnsley, who were top at the time. We dominated the game but just didnt score.

Another home draw followed, again 0-0, this time against Sheffield Wednesday.

Then it seemed like everything clicked for the lads and we won the next 4 on the bounce scoring 15 goals in 4 games, the only thing that could have improved it is keeping a clean sheet in one of the games.

This puts us top after 11 games, but Forest and Wolves have games in hand  which could push us down.

I could have postponed the Hull games as we had 4 players away on international duty, but I felt we were still strong enough and this proved correct with Danns coming in for Ibeh and scoring a brace.

SeptemberTable.png.37b345c16785001109aed70eb898d504.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Ibeh is out in front with 9 goals already this season, Sion Edwards is having a fine season from CM and Kemar Lashley has got 6 goalcontributions, carrying his superb form from last season into this one.

October 2031

An unbeaten month sees us retain top stop. We had a quick friendly in the internaional break to boost morale and raise fitness of the squad players.

Stoke was a difficult away day, but at one point we were 2-0 down so we will take a point.

Then finally we kept a clean sheet against Bolton, and followed it up against Nottingham Forest where we won after going down to 10 men in the 60th minute, a strong performance by the lads to hold on to the win.

We finished the month with a comfortable victory at home to Birmingham.

We are doing relally well this season and my target of a play off spot again looks achievable. I was concerned when we couldnt bring in a lot of players but it seems that we can trust the lads we already had here.

OctoberResults.png.7f17abb745d7aa68aea9cffefd2bcc2e.png

OctoberTable.png.1c880cdde75abaefb8c0234316c0903f.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Ibeh kept up his goalscoring form, he now has 11. then we have 4 midfielders tied on 4 goals, which shows a good spread of contributors this year which I prefer, if someone gets injured we dont have to panic. Lashley has carried on his fine form and has 6 assists already.

OctoberStats.png.5d3d2488b4477b9b9c9e4c4f625acab9.pngOctoberGoals.png.949412318ecae0859fd528db7ad6d289.pngOctoberAssists.png.578c31d4700f5e722a57e51e8ce10e7e.png

Player Feature - Kemar is having another fantastic season, building on his performances last year he looks to be a quality playmaker. My concern is his realease clause. Its £7.5 million, and I think he is worth way way more than that. January will be a tough month to try keep hold of him. Luke harris is again providing excellent performances from the mezzala spot in the centre of the pitch, he has been injured for 5 weeks hence his reduced numbers but Im sure they will climb again.

November 2031

We had a massive injury crisis to start the month, all 3 goalkeepers in the club got injured one after the other, all with at least 4 weeks on the sidelines. So I had to dip into the free agent market to make sure we had someone inbetween the sticks.

NovOConnerinjury.png.879961318cdfdf96fba5b7b129e30288.pngEadesInjury.png.4b515ec49bc5db8d31f767273526a078.pngJohanssoninjury.png.cc4220fd9fd1a4fe9488c61838540eac.png

In comes Joe Walsh, he is terrible and will go into the U21's once his injury stint is complete. Hopefully the defence does most of the work and he isnt tested too often, but thats not really how we play!

GKReplacement.png.ad81e94bb742ec428e1062bc215388aa.png

Results & Table - We have another unbeaten month, we concede a load of goals but thats nothing out of the ordinary. Walsh does good enough and thankfully we keep outscoring the opposition. Kemar Lashley once again was fantastic, he had the highest average rating and assists in the league.

Victories against Wolves and Ipswich were fantastic given they are up there with us, I would have taken a point at Loftus road but when Jayden Danns put us 3-2 up in the 90th minute I thought we had won it, only for QPR to score in the 92nd!

A rotated squad comfortably beat bottom side burnley after we drew with Cardiff after Nico Lawrence got himself sent off. Lawrence had been outperforming Albanian international Duro, however I think this has prompted me to switch it around for December.

We remain top by 4 points going into the crucial two months of December and January.

Bournemouth come in for us, theyre 19th in the Premier League, no thanks.

Unbeaten run - 14 unbeaten is a fantastic run, hopefully we can extend this deep into December.

14unbeaten.png.555b7e3af70ed800aed5efc2e16b9762.png

Player Feature - Scanlon has had a good season so far on his return to Scarborough, he had an unsuccessful time at Birmingham after his £750k move.  He looks to be benefitting from regular football and his performances are proving so.

Here is a look at Bleder Duro for next month, he had great attributes for a Ball Winning Midfielder, his only draw back is that at this level he is probably not well rounded enough.

December 2031

December turned out to be a great month for us again, we have always been strong in December and January and that has been the case again this year. We started with a poor defeat to Coventry, however we were the better team and created far more than them, we just couldnt finish.

Emergancy keeper Joe Walsh got MOM against Middlesbrough making 3 saves to ensure we won 1-0, that would be his last game before going into the u21's as O'Connor and Johansson came back from injury.

Scott Twine score 2 in two games to help us beat Plymouth and Reading who are promotion rivals, before we put bottom of the league Burnley away.

Sheffield Utd proved a tough test and they managed to keep us to a draw before we smashed Stoke to round the month off nicely, Luke Harris on the scoresheet the last two games of the month.

We now have a 9 point lead going into the new year, a strong posotion to be in, lets see who we lose in January.

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Lashley creates his 10th assist of the season, he has been fantastic and his progression since we signed him has been crazy, Im nervous of his £7.5 million release clause. Scott Twine moves up to 2nd place with 8 goals, after scoring 4 this month, he has really turned it on.

Decstats.png.eb49187ac31eaa2fe6815ce75c3e1608.pngDecgoals.png.f9132a985d48f7f7f33ccb4c27f9b9d5.pngDecassists.png.e3813c7d93c28c1e5040231df7929807.png

Player Feature - The ever dependable Martin Bessala has been churning out some performances this month, he now has 12 goal contributions and is really coming into his prime now, I think he will have a strong fninsh to the season and he will be one of the key factors to get us up. Vlad is having another strong season at CB for us. He has cemented his place in the starting XI and hasnt let us down this year, there has been interest in him also that I need to be wary of.

January 2032

A New year brings an unbeaten month of results, we progress to the 5th round of the FA Cup where we will face either Leicester City or Manchester City away, a good tie for us. We comfortably despatched Wolves and Sunderland, Wolves with our rotation side too.

We drew against Barnsley after creating over 3 xG which is frustrating as that would have meant we was 12 points clear, however 10 is still a comfortable gap on Plymouth.

We beat Bolton, Forest and Bristol City comfortably, with 2 clean sheets which is brilliant for us as that is not always our strong suit. Forest away being a real highlight with our rotation team, this leaving us 12 points clear of them in 3rd.

JanTable.png.538d471bd84e8357e5547c95628a5d84.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Ibeh carried on his goalscoring form, with 19 goals to his name now. Luke Harris tops the assists after Kemar Bashleys departure, I expect Sion Edwards numbers to increase as he was doing well from CM, now hes player further forward his goals contributions should continue to climb.

JanStats.png.edc50d2a203c266d95bf9aeedaa4d469.pngJanGoals.png.8e9e50f94ea85d49b3b7f78b04642e3a.pngJanAssists.png.d38610a30f974974d6cc6c6cac576a99.png

Player Feature - A quick look at our legend Jayden Danns, still a very good rotation option for us, with pace and good finishing and composure, hence his ability to keep scoring goals. He tucked away 2 penalties this month and offered a lot in the final third for us. Davide has been a good partner to Vlad at CB, he has replaced Penman due to his solid performances, his experience has helped out backline become stronger and has been a solid signing.

TransferHistory.thumb.png.231d1b7effefcbb7ba3410ffb38fea4f.png

Kemar Lashley leaves after Norwich trigger his £7.5 million release clause, multiple clubs did the same, Derby, Hull, Middlesbrough all tried. He is instantly worth £21-£24 million, and if he keeps growing he will end up in the Premier League, unfortunately not with us. Im proud of developing Kemar into the player he had become, he was a Striker when he came to us and has been adapted to become an incredible advanced playmaker on the right wing. I hope Norwich enable him to keep progressing.

Nico O'Reilly just kept moaning about playing time so we got rid, £1.3 million for a rotation player is good money for us still.

OReillysale.png.202238a9a055b3c53f5788018fcd1a03.png

Incoming - given the financial issues at the club, roughly losing £15 million a year to run the club we only get 10% of the transfer money generated, hence I had to be savvy. Mackintosh comes in after he was listed by Livingston, looks a decemnt player with great physical and mental attributes, he will given competition to Ibeh before being our starter next year.

CraigMackintosh.thumb.png.c1ef1651112abdf1accfc632178830c2.png

Juan replaces O'Reilly as our backup mezzala, if he progresses we could make a tidy profit on him.

Juan.thumb.png.32b0322f173fa4e0b7e7ab9aa8f1baa1.png

Dom Baker joins on loan from Brighton. He is replacing Sion Edwards as our Box to Box backup, Sion will be retrained as an Advanced playmaker on the right wing.

February 2032

A strong month in both the league and the cup, firstly the massive upset when we beat Leicester City away, they had just beaten Manchester City in the round before so I rotated the squad and put us on defensive. We gave up the ball but not the chances and Charlie Penman headed in the winner to take us to the quarter final, where we face 20th placed Crystal Palace, so we have a chance of getting to the Semi Final, and Wembley

In the League we performed well, the only real blip was the loss at home to Hull where we just kept giving away chances. wins against Rotherham and Wednesday were good, and Birmingham away was a good point before thrashing QPR at home rounded off the month nicely.

We remain top of the league by 2 points and a game in hand as Plymouth win every game and close the gap, however the gap to the playoffs is now 13 points which is massive.

FebTable.thumb.png.fdf22ee201b0e9f1f56e2ef06ca00ccf.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Ibeh is now on 23 goals, he really has excelled and replaced Davidson from last season perfectly. Martin Bessala goes to 20 goal contributions once again, a brilliant player. Harris' numbers keep improving as he is finding some form.  Ibeh is top of the League goalscoring too, with 20 league goals.

FebStsats.png.eaad46c7eb3b8b50a1f3e509491fc915.pngFebGoals.png.dfa3f720f249e2ace6ed071e54d6fc21.pngFebAssists.png.37bfd0ca19663709895f37463e36cf99.png

Player Feature - Rotation player Scott Twine is  third in the goalscoring numbers for us, his contributions have been crucial to our rotation side picking up vital points midweek and for our cup run. His contract is up at the end of the season and at 32 he wont be getting a new one, but I wanted to highlight how good he has been, signed for experience at this level and above he has shown that every game. Niall Huggins has had another good season at Right back, but again he is 30 and his contract is due for renewal, at £10k a week he wont be getting a new contract as I believe we can get a better player for that money, or if we go up we will need one regardless. He provided 3 assists in one game against QPR hence his feature this month, he had a great game and has been a valuable member of the team while he has been here.

March 2032

We struggled in the league this month, losing to Wolves, Drawing at Ipswich with Luke Harris rescuing the point for us. We despatched a lowly Watford before 18th placed Luton beat us. Thankfully Plymouth were just as bad so we are still 5 points clear with a game in hand.

The issue we have is the injuries, the small squad size is really catching up on us.

MarchTable.png.0a9dc5e84f7c2c483db8c04f9dff743d.png

FA Cup - We only go and win 4-2 at Selhurst Park, Ibeh with two, Sion Edwards with a goal from right wing before that man Jayden Danns seals it infront of the away end! An incredible result, and we will play Manchester Utd at Wembley, what a moment for this club, they will be way too much but I never expected to get this far. Luke Harris was unbelievable this game, providing all 4 assists, anything Huggins can do he can do better!

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Ibeh scores another 3 goals while Harris' 4 assists takes him to 13 for the year and above Bessala, Harrison is performing well again with 8 assists as a rotation player.

Player Feature - Sion Edwards has took to retraining as a right winger, his mental aspects are brilliant, Composure of 17, Vision, 16, off the ball 18, hes a fantastic player and will only get better. James Cowling has had a great season with us at Left back, he may not be technically gifted but he is a solid defender and bombs up and down the wing supporting Bessala. He can be pleased with his contribution this season.

Recorded a top half finish way ahead of schedule, and I think we may do just a bit more that that this season.

Youth Intake, LAFC Raid & Title Race Preview

Another poor intake for us, with only Dimitriou and Sharp worth looking at, and even thats a stretch, I only signed 6 players in total, that was how bad an intake it was, the lesser playes personalities were even poor.

LAFC - Took two of our players, I could have rejected these offers but it secured the finances of the club for years to come, Lawrence for £18.5 million is a fantastic deal for us, I could have probably got more for Vlad but he wasnt anything special and wasnt going to improve so I think I can replace him for free in the summer so I took £6 million while it was on offer. We now have £25 million in the bank, enough to see us through the next two seasons, plus we should have our new stadium by then which hopefully will help the financial stability of the club.

Title Race - going into the last 4 games we he have an 8 point advantage over Plymouth who we will play on the final day! I think we are all but champions given Plymouths form I cannot see them winning all 4 games. Wolves are chasing them and have very chance of nicking 2nd place, Reading are too far away to get an automatic promotion, some how we have stumbled into a strong position by Plymouth messing up more than us!

April & May 2032

Scarborough Athletic are Premier League!!!!! We beat Coventry and Middlesbrough to make the gap too much for Plymouth to close down, we go up after losing in the play offs last year. It seemed inevitable at the end of March due to the gap and so it proved to be. A fantastic season and after gaining top stop we couldnt be knocked off. Financially this is massive and although we may struggle to stay up we will set up the club for years.

Promotion.png.ea9476bf7fe6ffff3e667e65b7f1dab3.png

The four wins in a row against Sunderland, Wrexham, Coventry & Middlesbrough sealed the title for us. We lost against Man Utd which was no surprise, but £1million in gate receipts came in which is fantastic. After that the lads lost the motivation and we drew with Cardiff and lost to Plymouth but by then they had lost 2nd place to Wolves and the victory wasnt enough to regain it from them so they went into the playoffs. Losing against eventual winners Nottingham Forest. Jayden Danns had a fantastic finish to the season, and scored in the 1st minute against Coventry to settle the nerves in the game that we had to draw to win the tital. A fantastic servan to the club and it is surreal that he will have come from the National League North with us to the Premier League.

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Ibeh finishes as the Top Goalscorer with 27, Harris turned it on at the end and gets 16 assists, fantastic numbers once again. Bessala gets an honourable mention with 25 goal contributions and an average rating of 7.26. The side will look very different next year with the loanees leaving, and most of the rotation players. A big overhaul of the squad will take place.

Improvements - Training facilities are approved and youth recruitment is talked around, however the board did not want to improve the youth level, crazy given our promotion and the player sales. Then one week later they had a fantastic idea to improve the youth level.....

End Of Season Review

Competitions - A brilliant season, winning the Championship was a great achievement, I was hoping to get to the play offs again but we smashed the league with a goal difference of 55 and a gap to 2nd of 9 points. Getting to Wembley with the Semi Final of the FA cup was also a brilliant achievement. The Carabao Cup was a shame to lose on penalties, but we were glad to not have the fixtures given our run in the FA Cup.

Awards - Numerous awards were to come to Scarborough Athletic, Martin Bessala wins Championship Player of the Season, with a rating of 7.26, 11 goals and 10 assists. Haruna Ibehs loan proved a massive success as he won the Top goalscorer award with 22, this would have been more if it wasnt for 2 end of season injuries that limited his playing time in March, April and May.  Out of nowhere James Cowling wins Young player of the season, Ibeh must have won 4 young player of the month awards but Cowlings consistancy throughout the season shon through.

I won Manager of the season, no supsrise give our expectation vs winning the league, and we had 5 feature in the team of the season, Luke Harris and Davide Bettala joining the 3 award winners.

Transfer Review - Haruna Ibeh was a fantastic loan, winning top scorer, Cowling was well worth the £200k we spent on a loan fee to bring him in. Davide Bettala used all his experience to sure up our defense and finished in the team of the season. Ciaran O'Connor performed well in goal keeping 14 clean sheets. Sales of Lashley, Lawrence and Popadiuc brought in a combined £33 million which is what the board has given us to improve the squad ready for the Premier League.

Season Preview 2032/33

Another new season is upon us, and this time we are in the Premier competition, The Premier League! Scarborough Athletic, from National League North to the top division in England.

This will be a real challenge, as the odds shows us, 2000-1 is the odds. Long long odds for us, but no surprise given the size of our club and the level of player we have.

We were fantastic last season, and hopefully we are able to use our momentum from last season to get us off to a good start. Both Forest and Wolves are 400-1 with Arsenal being the favourites.

I am just hoping we have enough to stay up, we need to build on the squad we have and use the transfer budget of £30 million to improve the whole squad, rather than 2-3 key players.

SeasonPreview.thumb.png.06c0f0b22073f9caeacff273ba84f1e1.png

Managers - A quick look at the current managers in the Premier League, a couple are interesting, Arteta is still in charge at Arsenal, doing a fantastic job, winning the league once and the Champions League twice! The much covented Will Still is at Brentford, Unai Emery with Chelsea, While interesingly Tony Mowbray is with Fulham.

Graham Potter is with Manchester City, Wayne Rooney has worked his way up to Southampton, with his former England team mate Steven Gerrard with the Hammers. former goalkpeer Koen Casteels is at Bournemouth and Simone Inzaghi is at Leicester.

It will be fun to test myself against these big names and see how we get on.

PremierLeagueManagers.thumb.png.bd9bfee4fee41ab4721aaabb406642c9.png

Finances - We start the season with £5 million in the bank after using our transfer budget to bring in a good amount of talent to try and keep us in the league. We are competing against some monstrous sides, as shown in the sponsorship table! Man Utds income is over 75x that of ours at £3 million per year. Our stadium is by far the smallest, however once our new stadium is built we will be in line with Brentford at 15000.

Scarborough Athletic - A quick look at club in general, we have fantastic coaching and recruitment now, and the facilities are improving year on year. The board have been pretty leniant, focusing on nothing but trying to avoid relegation this year. It is interesting to look at the meteoric rise we have had year on year, even before I started the save when Scarborough were in tier 9.

Transfers & Friendlies 2032/33

Another successful transfer window, we managed to find a suitable player for each position we had a need to fill. We didnt lose any important players which starts us in a strong position to take on the Premier League.

We brought in a mix of former players, young top prospects and exeperience.

Transfers in:

TransfersInAug.png.8c6ea7e519782bf16accab38d2960e7a.png

James Cowling - Needs no introduction, after being listed by Southampton for £775k I couldnt turn down the opportunity to bring him back, a very good defensive full back with great physicals, he should be able to compete in the Premier League.

JamesCowling.thumb.png.187905786dc058e5d49856c71753fba3.png

Ciaran O'Connor - As I was searching for a keeper, Ciaran kept coming up as the best we could get, I felt the price was a bit loft at £6 million, but he did  great job last year, so again we know we can depend on him.

Oconnor.thumb.png.dd37c5ba637e3695943de8fa4f8a0627.png

Lee June-Hyuk - He was listed by Swansea due to a relegation release clause at £5.75 million, given his current value that was a good decision, he has great attributes for his role. My only concern is his height in what is a comabtive physical league.

Hyuk.thumb.png.63306bd305f0e4f3b21d6f9d17f190ca.png

Unai Vencedor - Comes in on a free, hefty wages, which was also matched by Bessala, but his expereice in a crucial role should be worth it, also it is only a two year deal which should be about right for when he starts to drop. Right now all targets are short term, end of this season, basically to stay up, and Unai is here to do that.

Vencedor.thumb.png.d1df025ed24f3062977d01cea168e895.png

Cher Ndour - The second experienced player to come in was Cher, again he had been released by Toulouse, and I upped his wage from the initially requested £35k per week to land him as there was a lot of interest from other sides. He is so wellrounded he has all the attributes to be a box to box midfielder, with the addition of being 6ft 3", he also has the player trait of get into opposition area which means he will be a goal threat as well.

NDour.thumb.png.d8ff1bd06f9289f8cf514450a99ccdf8.png

Labinot Spahiu - Our final free transfer, the Bayern Munich youth product looks a fine prospect and will compete with June-Hyuk for the starting role, Labinot looks to have a high ceiling and I will be trying to help him reach it.

Spahiu.thumb.png.05ca161a201abf6e8df52dad33c08f69.png

Lucas Mai - The first CB through the door, he is a German tower with Jumping Reach of 19 should make him powerful in the air. Signed for £5 million from Bochum he seems a fantastic deal, with first team expereince under his belt at 22.

Mai.thumb.png.85c16d406b8dcf4dce2b62d70b7d01f8.png

Javier Molinos - The fees startedto catch up with us, hence Javier was signed on loan with a mandatory future fee, he looks to have all the right attributes to be a top CB for us.

Molinos.thumb.png.d74375dcea2fb50fad0dbaceeadbe17d.png

Keighran Hardcastle - I found it difficult to find an appropriate LB to compete with Cowling, Harcastle came up for sale so I got him on loan with the fee being paid next year, He is 24, English and able to play in multiple positions. Where as Cowling is defensive mided, Keighran is the opposite, he will cause defenses problems.

Hardcastle.thumb.png.2799c1aec36e44fc7283f6e773d5fa4b.png

Haruna Ibeh - A player who requires no introduction. Our top scorer comes back on loan for another year, better still City were prepared for us to pay 10% of his wage, £2100 a week. A fantastic deal that I couldnt match anywhere  else on the market. Hopefully he can make the step up and score goals at this level, we will need him to.

Ibeh.thumb.png.0513c767a70893aeeea41e7264cd2e1e.png

Roland Varga - Got transfer listed for £1.1 million, given he was a current Hungarian International, with 5* potential, he was worth the punt, already valued at £24-36 million. I think he could rival O'Connor for starting spot at some point this season.

rolandVarga.thumb.png.b1daecf0442e890914c5ebd474bc8888.png

Nenad Dimic - Bettella was kicking up a stink about wanting a new contract, so instead I went and purchased Dimic for £4 million, and I will look to get rid of Davide as soon as possible, unfortunate due to his role in getting us to the Premier League. Dimic can play two positions for us, CB and CDM, he may play the latter due to his Jumping Reach being so low for a CB, but he will get opportunities this year.

DImic.thumb.png.757232b4e50a1ee159a4f1c5cf4aae29.png

Transfers Out:

Only the one transfer out to note, which was Marko Johansson, once we had sealed Varga I didnt feel we needed Marko, so I offloaded him for a hefty £2.5 million.

TransfersOutAug.png.cab1b8620f6f818b3409b0056956df5f.png

Friendlies & Tactic

The tactic stays the same as all previous years, it has been working so well I feel no reason to amend it at all, the starting lineup sees only a few changes from last season thanks to bringing in the 3 we had last year. Ndour, Venecador, Mai, Molinos and June-Hyuk are the new boys in the starting 11. Im hopeful we have enough to get us to 40 points, I think the way we start and manage morale will be key.

TacticTEam.thumb.png.74c59a511fe7776d280f389b1513e03e.png

A fantastic set of friendlies against some good teams, just one major blip against Forest who came up with us, my concern is that they were the only Premier League side we played.....

August 2032

A fantastic start to life in the Premier League, securing 3 wins out of four, losing to Arsenal at the end of the month was no real surprise and I didnt target any points to come out of that game, for it to only finish 1-0 was a superb effort.

Now onto the victories, Luke Harris scored the winner in our first ever Premier League match, he has been fantastic since coming to us and looks like he will be able to keep up his performances in the best league in the world.

Haruna Ibeh got revenge on Forest from the friendlies as we dominated them in a comfortable 2-0 victory.

We then won by 1 more goal away at Bournemouth, Sion Edwards with his first, and Ibeh on the scoresheet again.

We dispatched Fleetwood in the EFL Cup second round, before coming unstuck with a rotated side away at Sunderland.

If we could end the season now it would be fantastic, but I expect us to fall down the table as we play some harder oppostion. But beating relegation rivals like Southampton, Forest and Bournemouth was massively important, the opening fixtures were kind, but only if you come out on the right side of them, which thankfully we did with some brilliant peformances, keeping clean sheets in all 3, which is a contrast to last year!

AugustResults.png.83d86759665005be9d5ae302b11c283e.png

AugustTable.thumb.png.9e790f330034a7e406839d9c51da5be2.png

A frustrating start to the month as NDour picks up a  long injury against Bournemouth, after pickup up 3 important wins, losing crucual players like Cher only makes the job harder, however Scanlon now has the chance to impress.

NdourInjury.png.dea8f01aa9eb65b285f7b3f00dc03b79.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Ibeh sees himself topping the goalscoring list already, with 3 in his first 4 Premier League games, we have 6 different lads on 1 assist as we are creating goals from all over the pitch.

AugustStats.png.a8139ef231e1bfbe1de9a8e6c2166473.pngAugustGoals.png.6126f726377e54e3c47be38de08dc609.pngAugustAssists.png.ed93d1ae26e6be2da452440eaf28c04c.png

Player Feature - two players from last year who have found a goal and assist at this level already, firstly Sion Edwards is performing well in the wide advanced playmaker role, taking over admirably from Kemar Lashley. He had great numbers last year, and has started this year no different, his mental attributes are fantastic, I think he will keep excelling for us. Im still not sure on Craig, he doesnt look fantastic, but again, physically and mentally he is strong. Also he never seems to let us down, he creates and scores goals when given the opportunity.

September 2032

Only 3 fixtures this month, and tough fixtures at that, Liverpool and City away were not the games I expected to pick points up. In these games we kept the formation and instructions but changed the the mentality to defensive

In both games we had less than 40% possession, but beat them on xG. I think the time we have the ball we are using it effectively, and countering the big sides who are pushing onto us.

Scanlon scores twice deputising for Ndour, and is performing brilliantly, Harris also grabs two this month, continuing his fine start to the season.

We also outplayed Fulham at home, but they just took 3 chances and scored them all.

As I said last month, Mackintosh doesnt look fantastic but he manages to get returns, which for us is great, he has proved to be a good purchase to be our back up to Ibeh.

We remain in the top four, after taking 13 points from our first 7 games, something I didnt expect at this stage.

Its interesting to see Wolves and Forest struggling too, meaning we are an outlier rather than the league not being as strong as we thought.

SeptemberTable.thumb.png.ba8139fa7ed5e02595858f30c499c69c.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Ibeh went goalless this month, so Harris joins him on 3 goals, and Mackintosh is not far behind with 2 goals from 4 games. Bessala has started the season quietly, only 1 goal and assist, and an average rating of 6.74.

SeptemberStats.png.88520dbefc819197db1f2f8ae6d3a562.pngSeptemberGoals.png.5ae84b0be904db3506ca9d9465c3c74f.pngSeptemberAssists.png.d1e58b81af0577f02045a7b5f2c249a4.png

Player Feature - Luke Harris has started the season fantastically, he is now a regular in the Wales squad, and the heartbeat of our team. He sits on 5 goal contributions from 7 games, a top top performer and irraplacable currently. Vernon Scanlon has really impressed deputising for Ndour in the B2B role. Scoring two goals this month and performing really well. He has been a good player for us and I am glad we managed to get him back here after Birmingham released him.

Staff 2032/33

Heres a quick overview of our staff, its been a while since I have shown who we have in the backroom team, and we have had a lot of changes and additions this year.

I decided to replace all of the first team coaching staff.

We lost Curtis Davies at the start of the season as he took his first role as a 1st team manager, at Salford.

Staff.thumb.png.eabb3e089583492a7c604e5a62ef62fc.png

John Brayford - Comes in as my new Assistant, he has strong mentals, and his ability and potential judgement is quite good.

JohnBrayford.thumb.png.6855c9d476903aea246f57af08eed535.png

Jonathan Pepper - he comes in after a couple of poor intakes, he looks fantastic with a good personality, the only draw back is his reputation, but we will see what he brings in, he will at least have 2 more intakes.

JohnPepper.thumb.png.f0abc3fd902383be90b21599fd8c9916.png

Andy Ferguson - A solid Cheif scout, Im hoping to find some value in Scotland, plus Andy is adaptable so we could send him anywhere.

AndyFerguson.thumb.png.d297319ea7012997ba38f42dda64e536.png

Alannah MacPherson -  Alannah is a good physio, and cheap for her ability.

AlannaMcpherson.thumb.png.1ad804ca98633294a86ef40756bdf01e.png

Sam Rice - cheap as chips for a really strong Head of Sports Science.

SamRice.thumb.png.3870c39ef675451083459fb4e862dcab.png

Nathanael Pin - comes in this year to take on the U21's, looks alright but will be replaced if an appropriate candidate comes along.

NathanielPin.thumb.png.b0464890a1108ebf061b9bbcc6958945.png

Neil Wood - Neil has been here for 2 years already, he is a fantastic youth coach with a great personality.

NeilWood.thumb.png.a8c020eeeec6a0ce40d797905b298c54.png

Ross Wallace - included due to being an interesting name to have on the coaching staff.

October 2032

We started the month with a friendly at home to Oostende to keep the fitness levels high through the international break, the rotation squad had a good game and comfortably won 4-0.

Unfortunately it didnt help against Man Utd who then put us to the sword by the same scoreline.

A decent 1-1 draw with Norwich followed, I would have liked to have got all 3 points here but not losing is the aim in all games we play now.

We finished off the month with a 3-0 away win at Brentford, with Bessala getting a goal, along with Ibeh and Harris.

Another strong month for the boys in red sees us in 5th at the end of October, a great position to be in.

OctoberTable.thumb.png.5f1ef96af834ca8701b1bb207e3ed4dd.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Ibeh remains at the top, along with Harris, who is also joint top of the assists. Surprisingly top of the pile is the often forgotten Alfie Harrison!

OctoberStats.png.110bcbe8da31d034375fd36e2c5494cc.pngOctoberGoals.png.131cdde13c89676bf3d71211cbebd685.pngOctoberAssists.png.cb03985f7cef57567c98b0ef1462a95c.png

Player Feature - Alfie Harrison has had a fantastic month, and fantastic games in the Premier League, managing 3 assists while being a rotation player. He is a solid player for us, and only lacks the physicals to be a real force at this level. Martin Bessala managed to find the net also in a strong performance against Brentford, hopefully he can change is form around of the back of this.

November 2032

We started the month at home to Leicester, two mainstays of the side ensured we took all 3 points on TV.

A difficult trip away to Brighton followed,  who just edged us in a narrow 2-1 loss, Cher Ndour grabbing the goal.

We couldnt find away through Wolves, we huffed and we puffed but we couldnt blow their defence down. Still a strong point.

The last fixture of the month was away at St James park, where Jayden Danns produced a masterclass, and found his first and second Premier League goal.

What a player he has been for us, when signing him I never expected for him to come on the journey with us for so long, never mind to the Premier League, my favourite player by a mile.

NovemberTable.thumb.png.41a4ce4de9d38b044eb26d767cb9c25c.png

Stats by Position, Goals and Assists - Luke Harris is excelling this year, 9 goal contributions for 13 starts is incredible numbers for a promoted team! Ibeh is still there with 4 goals, while Bessala now has 3 goals and 3 assists.

Player Feature - Jayden Danns has now scored in every league in England from National League North to the Premier League, not only that he has done it all for Scarborough Athletic. Cher Ndour is having a brilliant first season for us. 1 goal, 2 assists and an average rating over 7, hopefully he can avoid any more injuries and be the hearbeat of our midfield with Harris.

December 2032

The first of two busy winter months was upon us. and I would say December was a success. 8 points from a possible 18, not horrific given we had Tottenham, Chelsea and Liverpool to play. .

Tottenham were too strong and left the Flamningo Land stadium with all 3 points after a comfortable 2-0 victory, when big sides come I want to make it much more difficult than it was for Spurs. We allowed them to play, and play they did, until they were 2 up then they just coasted.

Lucas Mai was the hero for the next two games, a goal to secure a point away at Everton before he rose the highest in the 2nd minute to give us the goal to beat Chelsea at home!

A rotated side then managed to secure a point at home to Liverpool, Mackintosh and a Danns penalty.

Our only TV game of the month saw West Ham put 3 past us with no reply, some games we just dont turn up and other sides quality compared to ours really comes through.

Finally Cher Ndour won the last game of the month with an 88th minute thunderbolt against a dogged Leeds side.

That result leaves us 7th going into the New Year, and perhaps more importantly the transfer window.

DecemberTable.thumb.png.4687356db2720f4c0d98c752c5fa2a0e.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Macintosh and Danns score to bring them onto four goals like Ibeh, Harris still leads the way with 5, he also pips Harrison to the highest assists with 5.

DecemberStats.png.30992c32127badf1ef1c11346d7c616b.pngDecemberGoals.png.620cae72f0399d07dba768a9967da599.pngDecemberAssists.png.fe5514e8d9ebb7a60ed77577e27f3589.png

Player Feature - With Bleder Duro still harping on about wanting a new £25k a week deal I decided to have a look at my pair of Ball Winning Midfielders. Vencedor has been the starter for the majority, and on the whole is attributes are strong, however his physicals are starting to decline, and looking at the number of cards he has picked up already it seems the opposition players may just be too quick and too nimble for him at this stage of his career. Duro however physically proficient he his, cant really play football, and at this level his lack of touch, passing and composure will mean he loses the ball far too often. If the opportunity arrises to either offload Duro or another BWM to come in it will be something I think I will have to expore as Vencedor is a short term fix, and Duro is not the answer.

January 2033

What looks at first glance like a good month, is not quite when you dive into the results

4 points from 12 in the league.

A draw at home against Cambridge, meaning we had to play a replay in a busy schedule, then a comfortable win against Hull.

The draw away at Forest was a good result and a useful point.

Lucas Mai then got the only goal again to take 3 points against Southampton.

A good performance against runaway leaders Arsenal to keep them down to 1 goal, but you dont win points for good performances.

Then a capitulation away at Fulham on the TV to finish the month.

We are still up there in 8th place, but we are falling down the table now and points seem harder to come by than at the start of the season.

JanTable.thumb.png.4ee02d4b822034a5357d478d66ba522a.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Haruna Ibeh scores two this month to send him top of the goalscoring charts along with Luke Harris, Macintosh is on 5, with CB Lucas Mai with 4 goals. Harris now has 7 assists from the Mezalla role.

Player Feature - James Cowling is really starting to take to the Left WIng Back Role, he had two Man of the Match performances in both FA cup victories, and he has a solid 6.96 average rating in the league. Labinot Spahiu has won the race to be the regular starter at RIght back, he has developed nicely in the past couple of months.

Transfers - A quiet January, we finally offloaded Davide Bettella for £400k. One incoming player was Ernesto Sanchez from Estudiates. He Looks to be a real solid player and will take over from Venecedor as our starting CDM. I was unable ot offload Duro unfortunately, but I will try again in the summer.

February 2033

Another struggle of a month sees us drop 3 places to 11th, after securing 3 points out of 15.

We started the month with games against the two Manchester clubs, losing both, although we played well against City.

Sanchez got himself a red card vs Bournemouth, they then scored with 10 minutes to go, a frustrating loss.

Thankfully we were able to beat rock bottom Norwich at Carrow Road, although we left it late, Harcastle and the ever present Harris with the goals.

Even the FA Cup was a struggle, only just getting past Sheffield Wednesday on Penalties.

Brentford was the last game of the month, and they came to Flamingo Land Stadium and played us off the park, a poor end to the monht, I had targeted 6 points from the 3 games against Bournemouth, Norwich and Brentford, so it was dissapointing to not have done better.

FebruaryTable.thumb.png.00e14c21f86a40f5c7ae704f12579f3d.png

Stats by Position,Goals & Assists - A couple of goals for Macintosh puts him on 7 goals with Ibeh and Harris. Harrison grabs another assist, he is now 3 behind Harris who has 8.

Player Feature - Dimic kicked up a stink about not playing enough, so he has become the starter with Mai, there wasnt much to choose between him and Molinos, and Dimic has the higher ceiling. Now that  we are somewhat safe, I have given Varga a run of games, as I want to ensure he progresses well given his potential.

March & April 2033

I decided to combine March and April, due to getting to the end of March and picking up 0 points! Leicester were way better than us on the day, the only consilation was Ndours goal and performance.

Brighton they nicked a 1-0 win at our place, meaning we had 0 points from our two Premier League games this month.

The other fixture was the FA Cup Quarter Final, where we gave a good performance against a slick Tottenham side, but ultimately they were two strong and we couldnt hold on to our lead.

In April we faired slightly better, mainly due to Luke Harris' performances, scoring 4 goals in 4, the first to help take a point away at Molineux.

Then we lost to Tottenham 2-1 again,  before a close game with Newcastle.

Finally we beat Everton 4-2 at the end of the month to seal our survival and another year in the Premier League.

We have done brilliantly to stop up, but Im dissapointed it had taken until gameweek 35 to confirm it due to our start to the season, since the turn of the year our form has really suffered and its a good job we got early points on the board, something I will have to do again next year.

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Luke Harris now has 18 goal contributions, 11 goals and 8 assists, fantastic numbers, Macintosh is now the starter over Ibeh, the latter has been off the boil and he hasnt taken to the step up as well as I thought he may.

AprilStats.png.27d35a782d8d67ae6a643fc84cf020e2.pngAprilGoals.png.e558782516ab394b3d48319b4c69dc3e.pngAprilAssists.png.db7dcc19fec8601fea552911b0ce80d5.png

Player Feature - Who else but Luke Harris to take a look at, he has been unbelieveable this year, with 10 goals and 7 assists in the Premier League, he has led the way for us and single handedly won numerous games, I really would not want to lose him any time soon. Lucas Mai had had a good first year for us, scoring a few goals and being solid, I really like his 19 Jumping Reach.

Interview - Manchester City offer an interview after sacking Graham Potter. I declined.

ManCity.png.a8a119cdf347c892452e9330509b7b46.png

Youth Intake - After such a positive preview, that touted a golden generation, this is most certainly a let down. Paul Mcfaul and Nathan Kneeshaw look like the two best talents. But no world beaters this year.

YouthIntake.png.7c9b96c78709e6517d994601aa63b7ff.png

We have two players that appear on the NXGN, Dimic and Varga are now both regulars in the starting XI, so hopefully their development will explode.

May 2033

A better month, a 3-1 over managerless Chelsea was a good result. Sion Edwards getting a goal and again against Leeds where we finished the season with a 2-2 draw that kept them up.

The only blemish on the month was losing our final game at the Flamingo Land Stadium, given all it has seen from the National League North to the Premier League, it would have been nice to bout out with a win.

That brings a solid first season to an end. Arsenal were clear winners and seemed that way quite early on.

I dont think we were evr in danger at any point, mainly due to accruing so many points at the start we had a good buffer for when we had a slump from February the end of April.

We need to bring in some players in the summer, mainly a Centre Forward with 15+ goals in them, we just didnt score enough this year, and we cant count on Luke Harris to be the only one to hit double figures.

MayResults.png.adf8e05620b8c10e0ee299f92a121c16.png

EOSTable.thumb.png.c0349d1f799bb5d5cb63c2de5f2c7ab9.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Sion Edwards added some goals to his tally this month, with two good displays, Harris finishes the season as Top Goalscorer and top of the Assists chart. Ndour had a fine first season with 6 assists, and Cowling finished off with 5. Macintosh performed well this season to finish runner up with 8 goals, alongside the ever present Martin Bessala.

EOSStats.png.e2e7c9795f004eb6a13d827dc52f13a8.pngEOSGoals.png.bb6bfbfdccc8029d4c75b040010fba95.pngEOSAssists.png.0971b35cfe9c4424bc069dc5c6c0e0ea.png

Player Feature - Sion Edwards has had a quiet year by his standards, An ever present, but his goalcontributions are nothing to write home about, hopefully this month is a turning point for him that he can carry into next year. Hardcastle has had a good first season at this level. Im looking for him to be more regular next season, whether that is Left back, CDM or as the box to box midfielder.

£20 million for 11th place is great, on top of the £80 million a year in TV revenue, we are really starting to see some big money in the club.

11thplace.png.a327ba27fb0c5fef8da14076d0a74396.png

We made a profit of £13.5 million this year, a really good year for us. Not sure how Forest made so much!

PremPL.png.e893f2ce74046714c08df5ade33167f5.png

Flamingo Land Stadium - We bidded fairwell to the Flamingo Land Stadium, next year we will be in our brand new one.

Season Review 2032/33

As I said in the last post, we had a great start to what turned out to be a great season, finishing 11th. I would take that again now for next season.

I think a realistic target is 50 points, and seeing where that puts us come the end of the season, I dont expect us to do loads better this season because we need to develop a lot of the players we have now to try and get us closer to standard at this level.

Good cup runs were nice and to reach another Quarter final would be nice.

Finances - We have had a really strong year financially, and I expect we will be in an even better position next year. The Supporter profile has grown, and will continue to do so while we remain at this level. Sponsorship is where we need to grow, we are still 75x below what Newcastle has brought in.

The club has really come on now, with fantastic facilities and now a new stadium, we are set up to compete at this level. It will be interesting to see how much we get from tickets this year given our monthly rent of £1.8million to the council. Hopefully the board will purchase the next stadium we build.

Season Preview 2033/34

After finishing 11th last year, and making some decent additions in the summer window, we are still predicted to be relegated, along with promoted Luton and Sunderland.

Hopefully we can make a decent start again this year to keep us away from the bottom three places.

My ambition for the side this year is to finish with 50 points or more, I think its harder to target positions due to others results meaning you can have 50 points one year and finish 14th, then the next you could finish 8th.

Year on year im going to target an extra 5 points, this year ive only made a jump of 3. Mainly due to our reputation still not allowing us to attract top level players of any age.

Both the board and supporters just want us to attempt to avoid relegation which does ease the pressure on us.

I certainly believe we can do better than last year, we had a terrible run, and if we can avoid that this year we should be in a good place.

The club - Our new stadium is ready, and will enable us to welcome crowds above 15000 now. This should help with income that we was limited with in the last stadium. I have requested to improve the Youth level also, so that should be up to 14 by mid season. We have 3 affiliates now, they are to try and increase our youth recruitment from further afield, and to help boost our commcercial income too.

Finances - The club is in a fantastic position now, with over £29 million in the bank after spending our full transfer budget. We are expected to make a profit again this year if we stay in the league. Unfortunately due to Bournemouths relegation we still have the smallest stadium!

I was suprised to see we only sold 5600 season tickets, i expected that to be up at 7000/8000.

Pre-Season & Transfers 2033/34

A busy off season, mainly with Ins rather than outs.

WE have improved the squad immensily compared to last year, we now have someone in every position to challenge the starting player.

We have focused on young talent who we can hopefully develop and then sell on until we can start to attract a better calibre of player in their prime.

Transfers.thumb.png.75e194154635077c24c6981f986dcdd9.png

Departures - we will start with who left us, both Duro and Mackintosh kicked a stink up towards the end of last season, so i offloaded them, both wanting to triple their wages, Mackintosh wanted to be a regular starter and I just couldnt offer him that.

Brentford came in for O'Connor on deadline day, and Varga had started the season fantasically, meaning O'Connor was resigned to being the backup anyway, so we doubled the £6million we paid for him and let him go, where he has warmed the bench for Brentford.

Bledar Duro - £5m

DuroSale.thumb.png.110a62828109fbb11979009752933be8.png

Craig Mackintosh - £2.3m

MackintoshSale.thumb.png.2ffa36b49a45f0268f8e237bdb98e4d1.png

Ciaran O'Connor - £11m, rising to £14m

OConnerSale.thumb.png.bdf26d946c5aedfecb55a1d5980dc9c8.png

Incoming

Victor Barbera - Free - joins on a free transfer after his contract ran out with Club Brugge, he scored at just under a goal every two games in Belgium. Im hoping his physical profile should help him in England, as well as his strong finishing, movement and composure.

Barbera.thumb.png.f3447c6a41c9acb118013207f2475903.png

Keighran Hardcastle - £9.5m - After a strong season last season, Hardcastles move is made permenant. He can play at either left back, defensive mid or centre mid, his main position this year will be left back, to challenge Cowling for the starting spot.

HardcastlePerm.thumb.png.84d918295d587ef2e9f7457867a78871.png

Javier Milinos - £6.75m - Javiers move is also made permenant, he had a strong season however he has been overtaken by Dimic and is now a backup but a very strong one who can easily be a starter if required.

Molinos.thumb.png.c58d7cdb5ea51bf73c132c76acf1bdcc.png

Nicolas Lucero - £5.5m - He was available for what i believe to be a snip, he looks a really good player, and at 6ft 5in he should really sit well in England.

Lucero.thumb.png.95064f96ec6c73c95800ab3c414c3955.png

Weiner Estarita - £1m rising to £1.3m -what a signing for £1m, after Edwards' lackluster season last year I wanted to find someone who could surpass him, I think Weiner has that ability, already a Columbian international at 19. His passing and vision shold make him a superb playmaker once he is used to the position.

Estatite.thumb.png.3759d5ee04c8ef39e77cdbdacee16b3d.png

Alonzo Samame - £5.75m - we needed some more legs in midfield, Alonzo looks to have them in abundance, his teamwork and work rate could improve, and once they do I think he will be a fantastic box to box for us.

Saname.thumb.png.57e202a8c3251af29c30e9b1ff41d0fd.png

Josip Bilic - £10m - Our record signing, Jayden Danns doesnt have the quality any more and Bessala had a difficult year last time out, so in comes Josip, a highly rated Croat. I think he is raw but has bags of potential, I like that he has height to him too, this should enable him to attack the box too.

Bilic.thumb.png.2f7bae1d9c87e2f2ebd021dfd784cf2b.png

Cha Kyung-Won - £1.2m - I wasnt planning to bring in a replacement for Mackintosh, but when Kyung-Won popped up for £1.2m I had to take him, quick and a fantastic finish on him, he has the ability to score plenty, and will push Barbera for the starting spot.

KyungWon.thumb.png.2f10b8fd25bbbc623f4e93a31a245a63.png

Raul Marzierli - loan - On loan from Norwich on deadline day after O'Connor left, nothing fancy but could do a job if required.

Marzierli.thumb.png.aa41c65f77fa80064244a37010d083a9.png

Friendlies:

Some strong results but also some losses. We played some cups to get some revenue in for the new stadium after the rent coming in at £1.8m a month. We finished off with two morale boosting games.

Friendlies.png.e30ed7dfd77019803494fe2ecb03c48f.png

Starting XI - 3 players come into the starting eleven, Barbera up top, Weiner at right wing and Samame as the box to box. Im going to look to drop to cautious on all away games to try and make us harder to beat.

August 2033

Once againt we have a great start to the season, with 5 points from 3 in the league, before progressing in the EFL Cup against Chesterfield and Forest, although it did take a 90th minute winner from Kyung-Won, who then scored again against Forest. Victor Barbera also scored against Brighton and Leicester in the league to open his account.

Craig Mackintosh scored a late winner in our first game at the new stadium, where it was a sell out on TV against Villa. A good 3 points against the newly promoted side.

We finish the month in 7th, a strong start to build upon.

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - The two strikers that have joined hit the ground running, they have two goals each, as well as our record signing grabbing a goal. Cowling, Scanlon, Hardcastle, Bessala and Danns with an assist each.

Player Feature - Roland Varga has had a fantastic start to the season with a player of the match performance already. So too has Dimic who is really starting to excel at CB, Im hoping these two can be key to us being stronger at the back this season.

September 2033

A truly mixed month, we started with a solid 2-0 win over West Ham, before a credible draw against Will Stills Brenford.

We finished the month losing away at Sunderland, who have taken the league by storm so far, sitting in fourth.

We finish the month in 8th. Still a good position for us to be in while the side gel together.

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - only two goals scored this month, hence no major changes to the tables below, Estrarita scored his first goal, and grabs his first assist too.

Player Feature - Keighran Hardcastle, looks a solid player who can really progress this season, he is pushing Cowling for the starting spot. Harris hasnt hit his form yet, he scored against West Ham, but that has been his only contribution so far this season.

October 2033

What a truly horrible month, we lose against, Everton and Fulham 1-0.

We were unlucky to not progress in the cup after losing on penalties to Tottenham.

Arsenal proved too strong for us, as last years champions despatched us 3-0.

This drops us down to 12th, but as long as it doesnt run into November we dont need to panic yet. It is good to see we are selling out each game.

OctoberTable.thumb.png.5663af12041779cf71c60a0bb3a2f7e6.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Ndour and Molinos get their first goals, and Kyung-Won takes his tally to 3. No one has more than one assist yet as the whole side has been creative. I havent done a player feature this month due to it being so poor I couldnt think of anyone who deserved it.

November 2033

Well what a turn around that is, although they may only be 1-0 wins, I think the fact that 3 of the games were away, speaks volumes of where we are as a side.

12 points from 12 is fantastic, although they are against sides we would target to beat, to manage to do the business against all 4 is a surprise.

Estarita and Bilic have had a fantastic month, with Varga doing some great work in goal to protect his clean sheet.

We have moved up to 6th, and already have 21 points.

NovemberTable.thumb.png.dcc2f58154af99e44013fd09c6546392.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Bilic now sits top with Kyung-Won and Barbera with 3 goals, Estarita has moved to 3 assists also, with Keighran Hardcastle on two from left back. Its good to see the wingers doing what they are meant to be doing, the inside forward scoring, and the playmaker creating goals.

Player Feature - Two new young guns take the plaudits. Estarita with two assists and one goal, where as Bilic scores two and creates another. They have both settled well in Scarborough and the squad seems well balanced and an improvement on last year.

Awards - Bilic takes Yoing player of the month after his fine performances, he has displaced Bessala as the starting inside forward. I won manager of the month thanks to our 100% record.

December 2033

A mixed bag of results this month, it was never going to be as good as November, but I think when we look through it, there are some really good results.

If we were to set targets at the start of the month, we may have targeted just 4 points from 21. A draw at home to Newcastle and beatin West Ham at home, As it turned out we got 7 points which im pleased about.

I wrote all 5 games against Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Man City and Man Utd off. Any points from them would have been a complete bonus.

First up was Newcastle, where we produced a fantastic display, scoring 4. Lucas Mai rose highest for his first of the season, Cher Ndour scored to take his chance when in for the injured Samame. Then Kyung-Won and superstar Bilic rounded off the 4-1 win.

We got hammered at Liverpool before a disappointing loss at home to West Ham.

However the rotation side bounced back against Chelsea, with Alfie Harrision and Victor Barbera getting the goals. A great result and totally unexpected.

Spurs managed to nick the points off us, they have an insane striker who managed to come off the bench and secure them the 3 points,  a good effort from the lads though.

Finally the two Manchester clubs, a briliant point against City where they absolutely dominated, then we went to Old Trafford and they were too strong.

All in all given the quality of the opposition it is a good 7 point month, and good to get them all out of the way.

We now sit 9th, but 28 points is fantastic after 20 games, and puts us right on track for 50 points.

DecemberTable.thumb.png.486ad9581ca116aadd94805d253d6a71.png

Stat by Position, Goals & Assists - Bilic is now top with the two strikers with 4 goals each, and our two new South American midfielders lead the way with assists, Estarita and Samame with 4 and 3 respectively.

DecemberStats.png.150104bf3959c3510ca83c7e8275b83c.pngDecemberGoals.png.3bf9aad8fa276beed3a4e671f58a36a9.pngDecemberASsists.png.b5296aed41eb76e2cab3de6650260367.png

Player Feature - Cher Ndour has had a run of games in centre mid, he has been playing well and is a really good rotation player to have. I thought we could have a look at Lucas Mai after his goal, he is still really strong and a fantastic CB to have.

DecemberNdour.thumb.png.bed2dd1f8550e438ad1cff8b708bb9a0.pngDecemberMai.thumb.png.4d3c8a4b38b90a7299a90832ae8b4ae9.png

January 2034

We move into the new year with another unbeaten Premier League month, moving us up a position to 8th, with 36 points.

We started the month with a home victory against Brighton, where Martin Bessala got both goals, he has not been the same force in the Premier League, but hopefully this month is a sign of him finding his feet.

A trip to Villa Park was next, we came away with a solid point after a 0-0 draw.

Leicester didnt put up much of a fight, Luke Harris scored again, before June-Hyuk got a goal on a rare start.

Martin Bessala then came up trumps again off the bench to secure a point away at Will Stills Brentford in the 97th minute.

JanuaryResults.png.d10c6ad7d2cc32c6b19bcc08c48600b8.png

JanuaryTable.thumb.png.7ca13e3fddb3ba16daa199a5b2a0bccb.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - again this year we dont seem to have found a prolific goal scorer, with 4 players tied on just 4 goals at the top of the scoring charts. Estrarita seems to be performing well as he adjusts to playing as an advanced playmaker on the right wing.

JanuaryStats.png.c61fef1e07f1dcecd325294832f79074.pngJangoals.png.de5e4f7b5d36cca20b7d28780b19cced.pngJanAssists.png.95ab29532bd937e124cea54135c51b96.png

Player Feature - Martin Bessala has a fantastic month, scoring 3 crucial goals. Hopefully a turning point in his season after losing the starting spot to Bilic. Lee June Hyuk managed to score on a rare start but has so far struggled to make an impact in Scarborough, with Spahiu playing much better.

MartinBessala.thumb.png.6884ce180dcefe4724ec5b42e49eebcb.pngJuneHyuk.thumb.png.dd02327336dc7fcb0cce4dbc93195b31.png

Transfers

Lens came in for Spahiu, I spoke to him and agreed to increase his wage from £36k a week to £48k. A small price to pay to keep him.

Unforunately I couldnt do the same with James Cowling, I couldnt compare with the £96k a wekk Al-Sadd offered him, and they had matched his release clause and off he went.

CowlingSale.png.6a2f531b6f554937de5a0300aa04f7cf.png

Raffaele Mazzarani - £9m - He was listed by Bayer Leverkusen, so I snatched him up, more suited to the wing back role than Cowling, his physicals and crossing should be a handful even in this division.

Mazzarani.thumb.png.7676634b0c37e2e19c3583d8709804c8.png

Roland Varga once again shines, along with Nenad Dimic to win the Young player of the month award.

February 2034

A quiet month with only 3 fixtures, and unfortunately only 3 points. Sunderland seem to be our bogey team, after we have lost to them 6 times in a row now.

We then lost to Everton away, however they are a decent side now and sit 6th in the table.

Thankfully we stopped the rot by beating Fulham thanks to two goals from Hardcastle at left back and the ever dependable Luke Harris.

We move down to 11th, but are on 39 points, only 1 off the magic 40 with 11 games to go.

FebruaryTable.thumb.png.74f538ebc714a4e0a2f6f318c9155e5b.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Luke Harris now tops the goalscoring chart, but to my surprise he hasnt got one assist yet this month, crazy after his performances in years previous. Weiner Estarita looks to have taken on that mantle. Keighran Hardcastle is performing well with 3 goals and 3 assists this season from left back.

FebruaryStats.png.501ab1db22c981eaca75d90541c3cbdb.pngFebGoals.png.f1eb2751dd21822128394937a94215c1.pngFebAssists.png.ea6b4f9f3b32ddd8a928c85c5adac3dd.png

Player Feature - Hardcastle scores two this month, and Im still unsure of where his best position is, he is so well rounded he can kind of play anywhere, at the moment hes a great back up for left back, but I feel I should be getting more out of him. I think this could be one of the last times we see Jayden Danns, he is the club captain but he just doesnt have the attributes for this level as we have outgrown him, I wont look to sell him, but if he wanted to go he would have my blessing.

March 2034

A win and two losses in March, firstly a humbling one to Forest at home, very disappointing to see, we are better than that.

Thankfully we went and stuck four passed Luton Town, Cha Kyung-Won scoring 3 in two, he has truly cemented himself as the starter.

Unfortunately 4 was the number again as we visited the Emirates, Arsenal beating us 4-0

I have lost the screenshot of the table, apologies, that will return in the april update.

MarchResults.png.c0972aa8d3cdfa3b355f8c1c2a4482d2.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Kyung-Won takes top spot from Luke Harris, with Cher Ndour the only other scorer. Estrarita tops the assists with 6, Bilic up there with 4.

MarchStats.png.ff87d23a55b5b0c0f8a221c458d7b892.png+MarchGoals.png.28712f5aedd241c43d1ef51275f8077b.png+MarchAssists.png.8ec3f6f8ddf9defe7aca69e9ff5f15b7.png+

Player Feature - Chu Kyung-Won has developed well since joining, one provided a chance he often takes it, he suits the way we play with quick transitions and balls into space his pace gets him on the end of a lot of balls, plus his composure and finishing enables him to slot them away when he does get the chance. Ernesto Sanchez has settled in to the half back role this year, his ability on the balls makes him an ideal candidate for the role as he is able to cut the ball out and then recycle the ball effectively.

A poor intake after the preview we had earlier in the year, however Byron Harper looks a real find, he is going to be a big player for us in years to come, providing we can keep hold of him. Other than him no one else to really look at in depth.

April 2034

A difficult month for us, we manage to pick up 4 points from a possible 15.

However I would have only targeted 6, given we played Newcastle, Liverpool and Chelsea, so only a slight underperformance.

We started the month with a fantastic result away at Elland Road, beating Leeds 4-0, Bilic with two, Mai and Kyung Won rounding off the scoring.

2 goals against Southampton was not enough, as they went and put four passed us, seems to be quite a feature, with us conceding or scoring 4 goals in each of our last 5 matches.

Next up was Newcastle, who only scored 2 but it was enough to turn the score around after we went 1 up through Josip Bilic.

The goal from Kyung-Won against Liverpool was purely a concelation as they were already 4-0 up at half time, conceding 5 at home is never good, even if they are top of the league.

Lucas Mai with another last minute goal, he has done this far too often for a Centre back. He manages to secure a point for us away at Stamford Bridge, Bilic scoring first in the 85th minute to claw one goal back. A great result to get a point.

12th position currently, but with 46 points and comfortably away from the relegation places. Only 4 points from the targeted 50 with 3 games to play

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Kyung-Won hits double figures for us, Bilic close behind on 8, a great first season for him. Samame now up to 5 assists from the box to box role.

Player Feature - Samame has had a solid if not inspriing first season, he is still settling in but has performed adequetley with 1 goal and 5 assists. Sion Edwards has backed up my decision to bring in Weinar as he has not done anything from the bench or rotation games for us. Just 1 assist from 874 minutes of football, I will look to sell him given the opportunity.

May 2034 & Season Review

We finished off with another difficult month with 3 games against Tottenham, Man City and Man Utd.

To take 3 points was a bonus, as I didnt expect any, least of all away at Man City.

Weiner Estarita scoring in the 3rd minute, and then we were able to hold out from there.

We also pushed Tottenham and Man Utd, losing 2-1 and 4-3 respectively.

Im hoping we can be tighter at the back next year.

Season Review :

Another solid season in the Premier League, although we havent particularly progressed, finishing in the same place, 11th, we have gainsed 2 more points and I feel like we were more comfortable this year than last and pushed teams a lot close when losing.

I think we have laid the foundations now to set up shop in the league and can really look to just add quality to the squad now rather than trying to fill the squad out with players who can get by at this level for cheap.

My top 3 players of the year are Kyung-Won, Bilic and Estrarita, who were my front 3 in effect. They all performed particularly well.

Season Preview 2034/35

A third season in the Premier League awaits for Scarborough Athletic. This time we are not favourites to go down, and rightly so. We have had two strong 11th placed finished, 47 and 49 points respectively.

The aim this season is to hit 55 points. I think with our recruitment and development of the side we already have we should be able to achieve that target.

Our odds have shortened from 1000-1 to 700-1. Im hoping we can finish in the top ten this year.

I think it will be a while before we break onto the European stage in any capacity, but steady growth is what we need to be able to lay the foundations to grow off.

SeasonPreview.thumb.png.566096a1323141fc257ff45b59ab3e09.png

Sion Edwards is injured at the World Cup and therfore will miss the majority of the season, worst thing is I was going to try and sell him!

SionEdwardsINjury.png.fb6ece204e3fbb5ec51546d96b4a6471.png

Managers - I think its interesting to offer an insight into who has the big jobs in the Premier League and how long for, Jurgen Klopp has by far been the longest serving manager. Leeds player Liam Cooper has the top job at Newcastle, and Steve Cooper is at Birghton. Carrick has lead Hull City to the Premier League, and Sean Dyche is tasked with keeping Sunderland up.

2034.35managers.thumb.png.81ce4a6ea79165a4bc75954770ccd4d0.png

The Board is wanting is to avoid relegation this year rather than attempt to avoid it, should be able to do that but good to see they are acknowledging the improvement in the squad. The supporters are slightly more relaxed and want us to just battle again.

Stadiums - big news, the board had decided to improve the stadium by 7655 seats, I then requested more, taking us to 39,327, this will be massive for us.

We will be playing at Hulls stadium in the mean time, which isnt too far thankfully, better than ending up in the North East.

Given the stadium is council owned and we have to repay £1.8m rent a month, the larger the capacity the easier it is to make a profit and cover this cost.

DoubleStadiumExpansino.png.f90c3b8bb0dd3c7520e270f3c4af6104.png

The new stadium will put us 12th as it stands.

Our season tickets take a boost, suprisingly to say we arent playing in Scarborough, but we are still far off the rest.

Finances - Again thanks to the Premier League riches we are in a good place, £32 million in the black after spending our £50 million+ budget.

Finances.thumb.png.8371c17a4f567bd5b1dcbbeb645316a2.png

We have increased the Training and Youth Facilities again, hopefully we will notice some big improvements with the youth intakes soon as our reputation rises.

ClubInfo.thumb.png.77c76621cd818ce7c3929fdcd86c9fa0.png

Sponsorship income is up to £23.5m, a good amount for us and it nice to see us off bottom spot.

Player Poached by Leeds Utd still shows our reputation needs ro increase somewhat.

Transfers & Pre-season 2034/35

Transfers in:

£44.25m spent on 7 players to boost the side to try and hit the 55 point target we have this year. I sealed the first 5 as soon as the season ended as they had been on my radar for some time, especially Konrad who was valued at around £25m before he requested to leave.

Transfersin1.png.9600e2618b76652421abc92abc8c8e83.png

Transfersin2.png.68cbecd2ebc836349f3dd84890ea5fe5.png

Transfersin3.png.3df86276f7204d9f186214bf8567da7a.png

Santiago Villar £1m rising to £1.5m - An absolute steal for a youn player who looks ready made to be a fantastic Box to Box midfielder, he will earn plenty of minutes as a rotation player. Im if not next year but the year after he will be a firm starter in our XI

SantiagoVillar.thumb.png.101e5af19ef92b9d10142cbe677aa598.png

Marcelo Vanzo - £10m rising to £12.5m - With Luke Harris' drop in form last year, and that he is entering his twighlight years I had to jump on Vanzo's availability, none of the big boys were in so we took him to Scarborough and will look to nurture his talent, straight into the starting XI he goes.

MarceloVanzo.thumb.png.9ba25f6f13a3fa42c1c46001c6deba9b.png

Thomas Konrad - £10.5m - A strong frenchman who comes in as our new Box to Box, Samane didnt impress last season and Ndour is exactly a natural in the position hence in comes Konrad after a fantastic season in Ligue 2 where he won Player of the Season for Lorient.

Konrad.thumb.png.a31fc482d52cb57d9d6fa9214c2c5898.png

Mads Jorgenson - £1.5m - Aware of interest for Varga and the loss of O'Connor last season I needed a prospect to take over the mantle in 2-3 years, maybe sooner if the interest in Varga doesnt subside. For the price tag he is a risk free attempt at finding a real talent.

Jorgensen.thumb.png.4e07117d40b4d571155804bd35f7b517.png

Killien Van Kippersluis - £9m - As soon as Jorgenson was signed, Killien became available, and he looks a top talent at 20 so he comes in a backup and Jorgenson will be given more time to improve and game time in the U21's before a potential loan in the new year. Killien can step in suitably if Varga is sold or injured.

Kippersluis.thumb.png.68a0482fc8a5351ef7f439134aeef67c.png

Alfie Dorrington - £5.25 - Alfie comes in to replace Penman, Hopefully we will get 2-3 good years from Alfie as backup to the starting two. He is English and well experienced.

Dorrington.thumb.png.af605bec66f719cffd447e6049dfed52.png

Guillaume Brun - £7m - Another young frenchman from Ligue 2 comes in, he will be the understudy to Ernesto Sanchez, as Vencedor leaves we had an opening at CDM and Brun fits the bill, he has the potenial to surpass Sanchez.

Brun.thumb.png.f1cca9d06e730fa6ffba1c369463faf7.png

Transfers out - only a couple of sales, Penman goes to Coventry for nearly £3m and another squad player in Vernon Scanlon is off to QPR for £5.5m rising to £7m.

TransfersOut.png.59c69f00ce8afea33f0495f5fd2d92cc.png

And One big sale: Tottenham match Weinar Estaritas release clause of £51m and off he goes. gutted to say the least but even at the end of last season I could not renew his contract as he wanted the squad to be massively improved. I knew this day would come but I thought I may have until January/ until the end of the season, but it wasnt to be.

WeinarPlayer.thumb.png.4dfe81766fc56f837aa3d785e3e471df.png

Friendlies - A strong pre season sees us only lose 1 game to a strong Benfica side whom we dominated apart from their two goals. We scored plenty and toured the USA to try help boost our reputation.

Friendlies.png.32807ec074ce06417f83feec407d6b01.png

Our starting XI for the new season, Vanzo, Konrad the only two signings to go straight into the first XI.

August 2034

An entirely mixed bag to start the season.

A thrashing of Palace at "home", 4 different scorers too, a fantastic performance from the whole side.

Then a repectable draw away at Brentford, before we lost to Tottenham, just as they had signed Estarita from us for £51m.

We then rotated the side in the cup and put Sheffield Wednesday to the sword with Molinos and Barbera getting the goals.

A strong start given the opposition sees us in the usual 11th place.

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Cha Kyung-Won and Molinos are on two goals a piece, with Hardcastle leading the assists with two, although they were both in the cup against Wednesday.

Player Feature - Chu Kyung-Won starts the season as he finished the last with two goals from 3, he wins Young player of the month and is cementing his place in the starting XI.

September 2034

What a horrible horrible month. Playing Man Utd, Chelsea, Newcastle and West Ham, I would have hoped for 3/4 points so cannot complain at 2 points from 12.

However after then crashing out of the cup 3-0 to Championship Leicester it really does damage morale, and also dents the fans support.

A 1-1 draw with Man Utd was a good result, before only just losing to Chelsea.

Lee June-Hyuk rescued a point at Home to Newcastle with a 93rd minute penalty, he has been kicking up a stink about playing time as Spahiu has kept him out of the side.

We then threw a 1-0 lead away against West Ham to end the month in 13th.

SeptTable.thumb.png.592ee7c429041288945540702a404feb.png

Stats by Position, Goals & Position - Bilic score twice to take top scorer with 3 goals, he really is performing well. Hardcastle picks up another 2 assists to take his tally to 4.

Player Feature - Josep Bilic has started the season in impressive form, now a regular for the Croatian national team and undroppable for us. Thomas Konrad has adapted to life in Scarborough very quickly and wins young player of the month in just his second month here, notably scoring the equaliser against Manchester Utd.

October & November 2034/35

Given only the two games in October I have combined the month of November too. And this nicely shows our 4 game winning streak.

Kyung-Won with the winner at home to Villa, before scoring in the 90th minute to take the 3 points from Wolves.

We despatched Hull City pretty easily, scoring for fun before they got two concelation goals.

Josip Bilic then scored a 95th minute winner away at Arsenal, incredible scenes for us after Vanzo had put us 1 up.

Unfortunately it was ourselves on the end of a last minute goal as Kyung-Won scored a 96th minute equaliser, a relatively unknown, 34 year old Erling Haaland scored a 97th minute winner for City.

But we shouldnt be disheartened, 12 points from 15 is incredible form and richly deserved.

Hopefully we can carry this into December.

Player Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Kyung-Won tops the list with 6 goals now, thanks to his 4 in 5 games, Bilic has 8 goal contributions now, 4 goals and 4 assists.

Player Feature - A focus on two of our outstanding young lads, Marcelo Vanzo picked up two assists from his new right wing position, instead of signing a replacement for Weinar we pushed Vanzo there and then reinstated Harris as the starting Mezzala, however he has just not performed again and is unlikely to have his contract renewed. Dimic has been a rock at the back this year, he is undroppable and has formed a towering partnership with the Germand Lucas Mai.

December 2034

A mixed month where we couldnt seem to put results together, it followed a pattern of win, draw, lose, then win, draw, lose, finishing off with a win.

4-0 victory at Fulham was they ultimate counter attacking play, we had 36% possession but beat them in every other catagory, with over 2 xG more than them.

We then couldnt replicate this at home and needed Luke Harris off the bench to rescue a point.

Liverpool were too strong at Anfield. No surprises there.

Cha Kyung-Won carried on his form at home to Everton, scoring the winner just after half time.

Southampton was a frustrating game with them scoring two goals after the 80th minute, two points lost there.

Then we just didnt turn up against Brighton, the lads were back in training the next day as they were absolutely hopeless.

FInally we finished off with a 5-3 victory over Forest, Bilic with 4 assists.

We finish the month in 10th. A decent position but i would like us to kick on in the second half of the season.

Our only issue is there is a lot of interest in a lot of our players, lets see who is still here at the end of the month.

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Kyung-Won tops the scoring charts with 11, all in the league, putting him 3rd in the league standings. Bilic has 16 goal contributions, getting 4 in once game away at Nottingham Forest this month.

Player Feature - A quick look at both left backs, firstly Keighran Hardcastle, the versitile Englishman has 5 assists to his name and has really been a great attacking force this year, in comparison, Mazzarani has got 4 goal contributions, arguablely of more value due to them all being in the league and with an average rating of 7.02. We are very lucky at the moment to have two players in this position capable of performing.

January 2035

An unbeaten month, back to our old ways of the strong winter periods. 8 points from 12 in the league, plus heavi rotated sides got past Derby County and Birmingham.

We will start with the league, and a home draw vs Brentford, a strong point even if it was disappointing to throw away the lead.

We then held firm at home against Chelsea, its alwas positive to keep a clean sheet against one of the big guns.

Samame then popped up in the 90th minute to win all 3 points against Palace.

Rounding off the month, Victor Barbera scored 2 in what would be his final game before his move to Derby County. Utd just werent at the races and we were deserved winners.

In the FA Cup we really struggled against Derby who were 5th in the Championship at the time. Jayden Danns scoring the extra time winner for us to progress, before we beat Birmingham comfortably.

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - No Kyung-Won this month, so it was a chance for Bilic to close the gap, he now has 8 goals and 11 assists. Vanzo is up to 6 assists also.

Player Feature - Santiago Villar has been recalled from his loan at Monaco, he made 14 appearances for them in Ligue 1 and comes back ready to make the Mezzala spot his own. Jayden Danns scores a goal this month in what will be his last season at the club. Roland Varga wins YPOM with Konrad 2nd and former Scarborough boy Weinar Estarita 3rd.

Transfers

A steady window for us, with one incoming player, Jamie-Luke Chick joins from Sassuolo, he is brought in to replace the unhappy Barbera. He has been loaned to Championship Derby for the rest of the season with a Mandatory fee that will total over £20m for the 30 year old. Fantastic business for us, signed on a free, and after two seasons he goes for over £20m. We also cashed in on Luke Harris, he was in his final year, and I wasnt keen on renewing his contract, so off he goes to Saudi Arabia for £12.5m.

February 2035

8 points from a possible 15 is decent, Id have rather of got 3 points against one of West Ham or Aston Villa, but West Ham are 6th, and Villa a position behind us.

We started the month with a fantastic counter attacking display against Newcastle.

Unfortunately we couldnt repeat the feat against Tottenham where they beat us 3-2.

Bilic scored both goals in consecutive 1-1 draws with West Ham and Villa before we put bottom placed Wolves to the sword with an utterly dominant performance. Kyung-Won with his first goal since returning from winning the Asian Nations Cup.

I picked a rotated XI against West Ham in the FA Cup, we drew level with Jamie-Luke Chick only to conced a third 3 minutes later, a good effort from the 2nd XI.

We head into March in 10th place on 45 points, 9 points clear of Aston Villa with a game in hand. 7 points off 6th with a game in hand also, not sure whether to be looking up or down.

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Bilic scores 3 this month to bring Kyung Won within 1 goal range. Bilic has 23 goal contributions this year, and excellent return. Vanzo and Hardcastle now sit on 7 assists each.

Player Feature - Normally I use this section to highlight good performances or in player comparisons. But Alfie Dorrington has had a really poor start to life here, after 11 games and 4 substitute appearances he has an average rating of 6.55, and hasnt done anything to note. I rare poor signing by us. In contract Alonzo Samame has had a good couple of months and found himself on the scoresheet again, a great deputy to Konrad.

March 2035

4 points from a possible 9 this month, a solid month given the opposition. We strolled to 3 points over Hull with a solid 3-1 win on TV.

We then couldnt score in the next two games against Man City and Arsenal, thankfully neither could Arsenal and we took a point each.

City just pipped us and nicked a goal in the second half.

I would have taken that at the start of the month, and it leaves us in 9th, 6 points away from the targeted 55 with 7 games to play.

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - Kyung-Won and Bilic score a goal each to extend their lead as the top two goal scorers. Bilic also sits top of the assists with 12, Vanzo is having a great season at right wing with 7 assists.

Player Feature - A quick look at two unsung stars of our defence. First up is Labinot Spahiu, who since coming in has progressed fantastically. He often gets solid rating and never seems to have any issues. He has comfortably kept Lee June-Hyuk out of the side. He may not have the best attacking attributes, but defensively and physically he is strong. Lucas Mai, the man mountain, has steeley kept protected our goal. While also contributing with some important goals. He has been very dependable for us, with an average rating of over 7 this season in the Premier League is very solid for a side who is not expected to keep clean sheets regularly.

Youth Intake - Another poor youth intake, i really hope we get a good one soon. The Head of Youth development has one more year to produce us some good players, or we will lose him.

We have managed to become an established Premier League club in our third year.

April 2035

April was unbeaten, in a month where we needed to target some big points. The only dissapointment was that we conceded in every game, if we had been better defensively we may have got 2 or 4 more points.

Mai popped up with another good goal, and Raffaele tucked away a penalty to secure 3 points against Fulham.

Superstar CM Santiago Villar scored a brace in a 4-1 victory over Sunderland, Vanzo carried on his fine form before Danns rounded the performance off with a fourth goal.

Cha Kyung Won was the goalscorer in a 1-1 draw with top of the table Liverpool. This was a fantastic result and not a point that I expected to get.

Unfortunately we couldnt stop Everton from equalising to wrap up a fantastic month. But an away draw to an Everton side that was quite strong last year is still a good point.

These results leave us 8th on 57 points, above the targeted 55 points I set us this year, means any points are bonus points now, and with us being 1 point of 7th placed Brighton, with them to play, we are in a good position to qualify for Europe in some capacity.

Stats by Position, Goals & Assists - We have had a real lack of goals from midfield this year. The top scorer is Villar and Konrad with 4, Vazno and Samame with 3. Even Mai and Mazzarani have 5 each from CB and LB. Vanzo adds to his assists and is now with 9. 3 behind Bilic leading the way with 12.

Player Feature - Ernesto Sanchez is attracting a lot of attention at the moment, especially from Tottenham who took Weinar Estarita at the start of the season. Ernesto has played fantastically at half back, and although I am kind of holding back his quality on the ball, with passing of 16, vision of 18 and composure of 15, he is brilliant at linking the play for us from the defence to attack. Roland Varga has had a very strong season this year. He has cemented his place as first choice and is really developing into a brilliant keeper.

YPOM - Santiago Villar claims Young player of the month after 2 goals and 1 assist.
