Tactical recreation: Arda Turan's 3-1-6 Attacking Shape with Eyupspor

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. I tried to recreate the 3-1-6 attacking shape used by Arda Turan at Eyüpspor.
The link to the tactics is in the description of my youtube video.

Eyüpspor's 3-1-6 attacking shape in the transition from the 2nd to the 3rd zone

The team's attacking in the third zone: In the 3rd zone formation, the two fullbacks give the team width, while our number 8(RCM) on the right flank with his high position frees himself for a deep pass in the inside corridor. On the left our flank attacker(IF) is between the opposition full-back and the stopper, while on the right our winger(IW) waits for a pass from the outside of the opposition full-back's box to give the team depth. With a line-breaking diagonal pass we move the ball into the assist area.

While testing Arda Turan's 3-1-6 team shape with Atletico Madrid and Eyüpspor, I tried to plan it in accordance with the Fm24 match engine with 3 different game philosophies according to the difficulty levels of the matches. While I used the vertical tiki taka collective game philosophy at home, I designed a hybrid layout with organised counter-attack and possession philosophies for away matches and against relatively big teams. I preferred an attacking variation with a gegenpres game philosophy to use in parts of the match where we need extra goals or against relatively weak opponents.

Tested With A.Madrid, Eyüpspor and Newcastle.
