Is anyone playing with Barcelona?

I play a 4-3-3.
With FB sitting narrower, WB sitting wider, DM hold position and take more risks, CM has roam from position and take more risks and IF has sits narrower and roam from position.
I play through the middle.

Striker can change to DLF(s) or AF (depends on situation).

Great succes so far.
Won 12 and draw 1 in competition.
Won 2 and lost 1 in CL (lost to PSV away ...)

There is no download.
I'll try to post a screen of the tactic and the results tonight (if I have the time).

Actually you have almost everything you need to replicate it.
Instructions I forgot to mention:
- In transition: roll out, pass to central defenders
- Out of possession: step up more

Situational: "pass into space".

Going to make a save with Barça later this month, but I'm going to try and replicate the playing style I had with Ajax in my first season. But it probably takes a few season to get this to work at Barça :lol:

Worked really well at Ajax, but moved on to a 3-4-3 diamond.

Very nice and simple. I had a similar one (with Ajax too incidentally) with IWBs instead of CWB

I'm curious as I want to learn more about tactics but, why did you go attacking mentality to then go lower tempo and all support duties? 

Is there any reasoning behind this? :-)

I believe in a collective playing style. Big inspiration for this is the Netherlands (World cup '74 and '78. Pressing together as a whole, switching positions with each other as a unit. 

Defend, support or attack duty affects player mentality (defense and midfield on support as a Positive mentality, center backs and DPL Balanced and attackers Very Attacking). All units have the same mentality and as such press as one. The creative freedom that I look for in players helps them press together and making decisions on the pitch as a team, instead of relying on a few players. 

This reflects in the player's goal and assist contribution to the squad. Everybody gets involved. :brock:

Lower tempo playing style

The lower tempo is creating a possession advanced over the opponent (averaged 69% atm in a different formation with the same TI's, but playing a 3-4-3 diamond).  

Like Cruyff said: ''If we have the ball, they can't score''

And maybe I'm wrong in my analyses, but that's the beauty of FM. Everybody plays it their own way. :lol:

Yes.. and let's just say Real Madrid is ridiculously good in FM this year. They have had two seasons in a row now where they went undefeated in La Liga. :idiot:

So no titles just yet.

Nothing special. On top of my head:

  • CM: Based on player strengths
  • Both IW: Stay Wide and Further Forward
