Makoto Nakamura
Well it was a nice season in the Scottish League, back down to the Highland League we go, we can't even rebuild!
Makoto Nakamura
2032/33 End of Season Review I'm surprised we won nine games to be honest, we have nobody rated as good enough for this level even our best player is rated as good for the Highland League, not even leading for the league below! Overall Best XI 2032/33 Best XI Jamie Stephen Joe Mckernie - Graeme Docherty - Harry Nicolson Alfie Mackay - Jay Anderson - Kyle Walker - Kieran McShane Adam McNab - Daniel Low - James Anderson
Makoto Nakamura
2033/34 Pre-Season We weren't embarrassed in the Premier Sports Cup, so that's nice. Still predicted near the bottom, so I guess survival is the aim. Most of our signings were done before the season reset this time.
Makoto Nakamura
August 2033 An early exit in the Challenge Cup but other than that I'm very happy with how the league has begun!
Makoto Nakamura
September 2033 A busy month as we play every four days but we'e still at the top end of a very tight table even though almost everyone has a game in hand over us. Makoto Nakamura
October 2033 Narrow margins all-round but it feels really nice to be able to win matches again, we've won as many in 15 games in the Highland League as we did over 36 matches in League Two.
Makoto Nakamura
November 2033 Not the best, not the worst. The only game we were unlucky was the loss away at Buckie, unfortunately though it does now mean that we're nine points behind Brora Rangers at the halfway point in the season. In the Scottish Cup we're away at 3rd tier side Stirling Albion in the next round.

I don't know if you have been doing it all along and I just haven't noticed until now, that that's a great way of showing us from the Youth Intake screen who you will be signing. Jimbokav1971
That's a very strange location for a new stadium.... And then relocation back home. That is brilliant that that's in the game. I really like your tracker. I don't know why I got out of the habit of using one. Considering the limitations you're placing on yourself, you're doing remarkably well, (although I've just remembered that you can sign "Highlanders" from elsewhere). Interesting to see significantly lower attendances for you in the Highland League than I'm getting 1 league lower, (albeit 2 seasons further on). So frustrating to only be able to sign 1 player from the 2032 intake, but Rostock (YP9M) looks very good. I'm guessing the Highland Cup win is a big deal simply because it's the "Highland" Cup. The Cups in this database are mental. (Brilliantly mental). League 2 here you come! Gayfield Park, (Arbroath looks a tad open to gthe elements). The playing surface at Brechin looks AMAZING! Ouch at that Forfar form at the end of the season. Ouch. Back in the Highland league, (where some might say a team of complete Highlanders belong). I see you're signing a lot of Nairn players. Are they products of the Nairn Academy? (I have no idea where Nairn is). Is it worth trying to replicate what their facilities are like? Is it possible that 1 of your facilities is too high? I've only just noticed your Cup spreadsheet. That's brilliant. (Colort though. We need colour!) If I ever get sacked from this save, I think I'm going to do a Youth Only journeyman save using the same database and I'm going to see how many different trophies I can win. It's absolutely mind-boggling how many Cups there are. I've noticed that we seem to perform better when we have a hectic fixture list, and at least recently you seem to be the same. It's been like what, 3 seasons now? And we're still stuck at the planning permission stage. I don't think I could go without my tracker, it's been a staple for too long! I think we've reached our limit on how far we can get now, honestly. If our youth intake was predominantly Highlander players then with upgrades I think we'd be able to push for the Premier League but when we've only been able to sign 30ish out of 167 so far it's a slightly different kettle of fish! Look at how certain teams in the North Premier League fare, they have the league plus eight cup competitions through the season! They were all players at Nairn's academy, which is here: And their facilities are worse than ours: I shall add some green for cup wins then! I was actually thinking of doing the same thing once I've reached my limit here, doing a journeyman akin to a Scottish perfectionist type save to win as many leagues & trophies as possible in Scotland before finishing up at the Premier League.
Makoto Nakamura
December 2033 Another loss to Lochee, we never play well against them! And a narrow loss to Brora in an otherwise really good month thanks to some very late goals! Let's see what this brings, I'm not getting my hopes up. phnompenhandy
I'm currently ba**s-deep in the editor trying to convert this file into a Celtic League with teams from Wales, Rep Ireland and Norn Ireland joining the Scots, keeping the same league structure and all the cups (but renaming them). One league that you might like to take a peek at is the South of Scotland League in tier 6. It's a silly little league of 12 teams - no relegation and one play-off place to get to the Lowland League, but the standard is even lower than the North Caledonian, so the winners are never going to beat the champions of the WoS and the EoS. However, they have dozens of cups, playing each other god knows how many times each and every season!

In which case, Nithsdale Wanderers are currently in the most competitions, for this season anyway! Fun fact, in-game, Dalbeattie Star won the league and finally won promotion back to the Lowland League this season, at the 6th attempt!

Crossgates, who've gone to the EoS Premier Division so the SoS League has 10 teams this season.

Makoto Nakamura
January 2034 A crowd of 19 came to watch us in the Non League Cup, talk about growth! KristianT
Thanks for the count, @Makoto Nakamura. Not quite up to SA levels, but for amateurs I'd think that would be draining enough when you think of the addition of their daily jobs and family commitments then again, even Pep's prime Barcelona only managed six trophies in one season Edited December 22, 2023 by KristianT

Makoto Nakamura
March 2034 That's top four guaranteed after a very good month and a late, late point away at struggling Banks o' Dee.
Makoto Nakamura
2033/34 End of Season Review I'm pretty sure we've never beaten Lochee United, that trend has not changed as we snatch a late point and then beat Deveronvale on the last day of the season but still finish in 4th place, a solitary point behind both Elgin City and Deveronvale with a nice gp to 5th placed Fort William. Brora Rangers beat Hutchison Vale and then Forfar Athletic to finally win promotion to League Two whilst Tayport beat North End to stay in the Highland League. Unfortunately after our relegation from League Two last season there were some players that decided they didn't want to stay after their contract expires this season, including stalwart goalkeeper Jamie Stephen after 474 appearances for the club. I think this will be the last season of my Highland experiment, especially after I can't bring through youth players. I will be starting a new save soon which will still be using this database as well as daveincid's update as we attempt to perfect and conquer Scotland, from the bottom up. Overall Best XI 2033/34 Best XI Jamie Stephen Joe Mckernie - Graeme Docherty - Chris Macadie (YP9c) Alfie Mackay - Jack Grant - Kyle Walker - Kieran McShane Adam McNab - Daniel Low - Ross Gillon
