Jimbokav1971
Aug 2033. West of Scotland Premier Division. (6th Tier). You might remember that we only lost 2 league games last season, but the reason we lost the league, (to an opponent who lost 4 times in the league), is because we drew 8 games and drawing games that we should be winning, (by conceding in the 85th min), is exactly what we need to stop if we're going to win the league this season. Junior Cup. I played the 2nd Team and even though we were expected to win this, I really don't care that we're out. I care about the league, and I care about the Scottish Cup, but that's it. The biggest loss here is the fact that we will play less games. (Our opposition are in the league below us). Debuts. Goal-scoring GK's. Nothing this month. (23) Brass (Bal) 6'2" is 5/8 from the spot at 63%. (Is no longer at the club). (23) Ewing (Bal) 6'1" is 17/20 from the spot at 85%. (Is no longer at the club). Jimbokav1971
Sep 2033. West of Scotland Premier Division. (6th Tier). The Drumchapel game was one we should have won, but with 3 players away on International duty, another 3 or 4 injured and me rotating the squad anyway, we were just a tiny bot short. Decent performance but not result. Kilwinning on the other hand march on and are now 5 points clear after 7 games. Facilities. The 2nd Training Facility upgrade is complete and our facilities are now at 6.1.20.20. I really do think we are due some proper players through the next few intakes. International call-ups. I don't know if you ever get call-up postponements at this level of football, (possibly not), but I know you don't get the game postponed for 3 missing. Debuts. Goal-Scoring GK's. Finances. Jimbokav1971
Oct 2033. West of Scotland Premier Division. (6th Tier). Form being concerned that Kilwinning might already have an unassailable lead at the end of last month, we finish this month top of the table. Scottish Cup. (The Big one). Jimbokav1971
Nov 2033. West of Scotland Premier Division. (6th Tier). After dropping 5 points last month, our dismantling of Kilwinning should put a nice dent in their morale ahead of a busy period. If things go to plan, the gap will continue to widen. Unfortunately things do not always go to plan. The 2nd Team battered Petershill, but just couldn't score and ended up somehow losing a game in which we were completely dominant. We had 72% possession. It just goes to show how much we lack depth in the central striker role. On the plus side, we just have to stick with the rotation policy because we knows it works long-term. It's not just about resting the 1st Team. The development opportunities for the 2nd Team are also not to be ignored. (Yes. yes I am trying to find the positives here). At the end of month full of twists and turns, Kilwinning are back on top, but only because they have played a game more. In other news, look at the home attendances this month. Really making progress here. Scottish Cup. (The Big one). Montrose Roselea are in good form and top their league, (same level as us) after winning 21 of their opening 25 games in all competitions. There is a serious danger of us losing this, (on live TV!) This is a banana skin and we need to be on our game. (The opposition are at the same level as us). Scottish Non League Cup. (The opposition are 1 league below us). West of Scotland Cup. (The opposition are 1 league below us). Debuts. International call-ups. Staff being poached. @Scribemight not like him, but if this goes through it will be the 1st time that we have received any sort of fee for a staff member. Oh! I didn't realise they were offering him the Manager's job. I thought he was going as a HoYD. New HoYD. Goal-Scoring GK's. Just like buses. Nothing for the opening 4 months of the season and then 4 turn up together. (23) Brass (Bal) 6'2" is 5/8 from the spot at 63%. (Is no longer at the club). Jimbokav1971
Dec 2033. West of Scotland Premier Division. (6th Tier). 5 wins in the league this month moves us 8 points clear of Kilwinning Rangers, however they have 2 games in hand. They've lost 3 of their last 7 games though so they're not in great form. We on the other hand have won 17 of our last 18. Scottish Non League Cup. (The opposition are in the same league as us). West of Scotland Cup. (The opposition are 1 league below us). Facilities. I really don't understand what he's got against the Youth Facilities. We should have enough money in the bank for the 1st upgrade. Goal-Scoring GK's. 1 goal and 1 saved, (and then the rebound converted) by someone else. (23) Brass (Bal) 6'2" is 5/8 from the spot at 63%. (Is no longer at the club). Jimbokav1971
Jan 2034. West of Scotland Premier Division. (6th Tier). 3 more wins, including a right thumping of Caledonian Locomotives by the 2nd Team. Scottish Cup. (The Big one). I'd like to say that we rotated the squad and rested players for the league, but this was the best team we had available and they just weren't good enough on the day. The money we would have got from beating Kello Rovers, and from the next round, would have been significant, but the big blow is that they drew Carluke Rovers of the league below us in the next Round, meaning that we would have had a relatively easy route to the 6th Round. This was a big missed opportunity. That being said, our main priority this season is absolutely the league. (The opposition are in our league). Scottish Non League Cup. (The opposition are at the same level as us). Records. The 8-1 win in the league was actually the 2nd Team. Transfer offer. We've never received a bid of even £1,000 before, so to go from that to £32,500 is significant. I'm still saying no though. I would rather lose a player on a free at this stage and keep them until the expiry of their contract even if they leave on a free at that stage. Goal-Scoring GK's. 1 scored from 3 attempts this month. (23) Brass (Bal) 6'2" is 5/8 from the spot at 63%. (Is no longer at the club). (23) Ewing (Bal) 6'1" is 17/20 from the spot at 85%. Jimbokav1971
Feb 2034. West of Scotland Premier Division. (6th Tier). Our form has taken us 8 points clear of Threave Rovers, (who have played 2 games more), and 10 points clear of Kilwinning Rangers, (who have played the same number of games as us). With 6 games for us left to play, we're about to enter a little period of 4 league games in 11 days that will probably decide the title. Promotion, (the big prize), is different though, and I will continue to rotate players as usual. Scottish Non League Cup. Sixth Round. (The opposition play at the same level as us). Seventh Round. (The opposition play 1 level above us). West of Scotland Cup. (The opposition play 1 level below us). Records. Job Interview. Stirling Albion are a Semi-Pro club in Scottish League 1. It would be a jump of 3 leagues. I'm surprised there haven't been more job offers considering I'm always on a 1 year contract and have a win % of 67% over a period of 10 seasons. Goal-Scoring GK's. 4 from 4 for (30a) Ogilvie (Fickle) 6'2" * this month. (23) Brass (Bal) 6'2" is 5/8 from the spot at 63%. (Is no longer at the club). (23) Ewing (Bal) 6'1" is 17/20 from the spot at 85%. (Is no longer at the club). (25c) Christie (F.Sport) 6'1" is 46/52 from the spot at 88%. (Is no longer at the club). Jimbokav1971
Youth Intake day. Mar 2034. I still think we're due a "motherload" of a player with huge CA. Whenever I save immediately after the intake I never seem to have a problem. Every single time I have a crash after the Youth Intake I have to go back to the start of the month. It takes quite a while to do all the nicknames and contracts and training and PPM's, but this is the 2nd time in this save it's happened to me and it's sooo annoying. You would think I would have learned by now. As for McGrandles, I don't actually like him. He's a #10 at best and what I really want is a #9. I really wanted a striker or a centre-mid and he's halfway between the two but actually neither. I think I'm going to force him into a striker role just out of necessity. Really struggling without depth in the central striking position in this save. Hoping the new HoYD can make an impact in the next few seasons. Is it just my imagination or have you brought through quite a few AMCs recently of decent quality? Was that the previous HOYD preferred formation as I'm aware you've recently lost the unambitious one? Thinking about McGrandles in relation to your formation he does seem something of a waste; I'm using a 4231 currently and he'd fit right in!

Yeah there have been quite a few AMC's and so far I've just squeezed them into MC or one of wider SC positions. This is the 1st one who will play through the middle. I'm honestly expecting a run of #9's of real quality coming through this intake, (but then again I've been thinking that for a while now and........).
Jimbokav1971
Mar 2034. West of Scotland Premier Division. (6th Tier). We won the league with 4 games still to play. Jimbokav1971
Apr 2034. West of Scotland Premier Division. (6th Tier). Yes, of course I rotated the squad for the last 2 games of the season. We weren't going for an unbeaten season so who cares if we lost? I think I gave 7 debuts in the Petershill match and we did ok. Scottish Regional Premier Leagues. (Promotion to the 5th Tier). This is the Playoff for who gets promoted into the Lowland League. This is the 3-way Playoff for who gets promoted into the Highland League. Scottish Non League Cup. The highest level of opposition we could face in this competition is someone in the Highland or Lowland leagues. In the Final we will meet Albion Rovers who are current Champions or the Lowland League and are currently in a Playoff against Highland League Champions Inverurie Loco Works to decide who goes up to Scottish League 2..... In fact that's not quite right, (because that would be too fair and reasonable). The winners of the.... 2-legged Playoff between the Champions of the Highland League and the Champions of the Lowland League, then has to play a 2-legged Playoff against the bottom side in Scottish League 2, (which is Bonnyrigg Rose this season). Jimbokav1971
May 2034. International call-ups. I would love to have 5 players called up at the same time so I can see if we get an opportunity to postpone games. The problem is that it only works if the call-ups are for competitive games where the player can't be recalled. Don't believe the hype stars. You might notice in the International section above there is a player called (29g) Hanzel (POL)(SCO)(Spir) who has 10 U21 appearances for Poland, but he isn't in the U21 squad now, (and has been absent for some while). The truth is that he doesn't look great, and I lost confidence in him a couple of years ago and dropped him to 3rd choice SLC which meant he hardly got any playing time. As a result he was dropped from the (POL) U21 squad and has never been brought back in. While the player I dropped him for looked better than him, they didn't play better than him, and I don't care if he has only 1.0 CA stars and 2.0 PA stars, this bloke is instrumental to our 2nd Team and I've just offered him a new contract to keep him at the club. 30 goals in 79 league appearances isn't amazing, (but it's certainly decent for someone playing on the left of a front 3 and not taking pens), but 58 goals and 24 assists in 106(23) appearances in all competitions is certainly decent and not to be sniffed at. I will have absolutely no issues with playing him again next season until either someone makes me give them a chance and they take ot, or he stops delivering. Player Development. There is often a question asked, (and indeed I have asked it early in this thread), as to "How much can you develop a player anyway, at a club which has awful facilities, coaches who aren't very good and playing at a level of football that isn't a million miles above Sunday League?".... and earlier in the save the answer I offered was that you couldn't develop them that much, and however much you could develop them, the chances are that the club would produce a player with better CA in the same position, within a couple of years. The facts however do not seem to support my position when it comes to GK's. One possible explanation for this is because he doesn't get rotated in the same was as outfield players, but I think it's more likely that the reason is linked to how much he is fatigued during games, (significantly less than outfield players), and the amount of "Double intensity" training sessions he's able to complete. Jimbokav1971
Jun 2034. Reputation. We've already got a high Rep than many of the Highland/Lowland League sides that we're about to join. I'm guessing that our Rep is so good, (comparatively speaking), because we've done so well in the Cups over the course of this save. We've popped to Regional Rep since last year and fingers crossed that will have a positive impact on our Youth Intake. Expectations. Top half finish seems fine. We've beaten platy of teams at this level before, and we're obviously developing season on season. Finances. I still think of what might have been with regards to our Scottish Cup run every time I see our finances page.
Jimbokav1971
Jul 2034. Scottish Lowland league. Our 1st choice GK was out injured for 2 months and our 2nd choice GK had been sent on loan and couldn't be re-called yet, so we starter the season with our 3rd choice GK, 17 year old (33a) Black (Fickle) 6'0" *. With both 1st choice full-backs suspended for the 1st game and central striker (31j) Fullerton (Unamb) * also injured in pre-season, I started (34a) McGrandles (F.Det) * who came through the intake last season but has yet to find the net. I was more than a little fearful of how our 1st game at this level might go. I wasn't ready at all for what was to come. Friendlies. New highest bid. £14,250(£23,000) + 30% profit + a friendly. Jimbokav1971
Aug 2034. Season Preview. Forgot to post this last month. I suppose I should no longer be surprised that the bookies have us so high on the list. Albion Rovers, (who won the league last season and beat us in a Cup Final), will be back again hoping to make it 4th time lucky. They won the league in 2028/29, 2030/31 and 2033/34. They've never finished higher than 4th the season after winning the title though. Competitions. Just 3 Cup competitions seems stingy in comparison to what has gone before. I don't usually use sponsor names for competitions, but I will make an exception for the United to Prevent Suicide league Cup. Scottish Lowland League. (Tier 5) A convincing away win to last seasons Champions and the pre-season favourites for this seasons title league Albion Rovers is sure to send a few shock-waves around the league. After 2 months we've only played 3 league games and 0 cup games. Usually we would have played between 5-8 Cup games by now. The good old days are well and truly over. Goal-scoring GK's. After 2/2 on his debut, (33a) Black (Fickle) 6'0" * completely missed the target with his 3rd pen. I'm pretty sure that hasn't happened in this save yet, and I'm not 100% sure that it happened in Colombia either, (although might be wrong). It happens so rarely in FM that it really stands out. WIll have to keep an eye on his ratio. It's not a good sign. In any case, it might be his last game for a while as (30a) Ogilvie (Fickle) 6'2" * is fit again and started the last game. (26p) Marsh (CAN)(SCO) 5'10" is 15/17 from the spot at 88%. (Is no longer at the club). (30a) Ogilvie (Fickle) 6'2" * is 32/43 from the spot at 74%. (31k) Lawrie (Unamb) * is 1/1 from the spot at 100%. (Out on loan in Tier 6). (33a) Black (Fickle) 6'0" * is 2/3 from the spot at 67%. Jimbokav1971
Sep 2034. Scottish Lowland League. (5th Tier). We just keep winning. Even 3 away games didn't put a dent in our form. International call-ups. I still had the option to recall these players from International duty. Postponement?. I honestly don't know why we can postpone this game but not previous games. Maybe it's due to the level we're playing at? I chose not to postpone anyway. Goal-Scoring GK's. Nothing this month. Finances. We still haven't played a Cup match and the season is now 3 months old.
TIR669
Good to see you off to a smooth start at tier 6. I skipped first 2-3 pages below tier 9 or so. Unlucky the junior coaching is 20 at this point already since it will likely break the immersion a bit, but its quite understandable you like it as it makes the challenge..well, playable. Nice to know names of some teams in your current league, before it was all just gibberish. Props to you for the challenge, enjoyed the read so far & will return in a few weeks to get up to date!

Nice to know names of some teams in your current league, before it was all just gibberish. Props to you for the challenge, enjoyed the read so far & will return in a few weeks to get up to date! I don't blame you at all for skipping, (although you did miss a lot of Cup games). The smooth start this season it at Tier 5 though. I must admit that I've enjoyed the save more myself, the harder it's been to progress. 2 Seasons at Tier 7. (Not champions when promoted in 2nd season). 3 Seasons at Tier 6. There's certainly a "pinch-point" there in terms of quality that works well for the game. Yeah, even with family from Motherwell there are place names I knew, (rather than football Teams), but still many that even now I've not heard of. FOr example I saw Spartans on the TV the other day, (or on the vidiprinter on TV anyway), and they play at this level and have even spent some time in League 2 in the save, but I've never heard of them ever and can't even guess where they might be based. We're playing them in November and I will have a little look around the league and see who is based where then, because there's a few more I don't know too. Yeah the challenge is a big one, but I think it has many phases. I think I mentioned to someone previously that I think toppling Celtic/Liverpool might be the greatest challenge of all, (assuming we get there). 1st challenge was simply progressing through the amateur leagues and turning Semi-Pro. 2nd challenge was more progression and getting past the 1st "pinch-point" at the top of the West of Scotland structure. 3rd challenge was expected to be not just winning the Highland/Lowland league, but more specifically winning the Playoff to get to League 2. 4th challenge is progressing to the Championship and turning Pro, (which I think will likely come hand in hand). 5th challenge is progressing to the Premiership. 6th challenge is qualifying for Europe. 7th challenge is finishing 2nd in the Premiership ahead of either Celtic or Rangers. 8th challenge is to win the Premiership ahead of both the Old FIrm. I honestly don't know if this is doable. It's such a big ask to compete against the resources of the Old FIrm. I guess we will just see when/if we get there.
Jimbokav1971
Oct 2034. Scottish Lowland League. We march on in the league, but our last league game, (and the Cup game), are the 1st 2 times this season that the opposition have scored more than 1 goal against us. Scottish Cup. (The Big One). A comfortable win after a great start and we will play Dalbeattie Star in the next round who are bottom of our league with 0 wins after 9 games. (You know they are going to beat us now that I've said that). (The opposition are 1 league below us). We blitzed them with 4 goals in the opening 11 mins, (and it might have been more), and the game was as good as over. Debuts. Unhappiness. We're unbeaten in the league and top of the table by 4 points after 9 games. Our 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice WBR's are 18, 19 & 7 years old respectively. The 1st 2 at least have been playing well. What's the problem? New contract. They're still not paying me, but let's not get too bogged down by that. It's not actually a 2 year contract either. It's closer to 18 months, but my existing contract covers about 6 months of that anyway, so it's a 12 months increase. A 1 year extension. Every cloud has a silver lining. I was expecting to lose (32e) Dick (Bal) * at the end of the season on a free. The suggestion was that he had no interest in discussing a new deal, (until his injury that is). While his injury is a huge blow to our title aspirations this season, it's actually fantastic for the long-term of the save because it means that he was immediately willing to discuss a new contract and HE insisted on a 3 year term and I thought it would be rude not to add a +1 option on top of that. Yeah he's more than doubled his wages, but he's 1 of only 4x 5.0 PA players at the club. I honestly don't think finances will be an issue during this phase of the save because the income we should be able to generate via Scottish Cup runs should far exceed the expected losses due to wage spend. Obviously that would change if/when we turn pto, but for the time being I think it's fine. Goal-scoring GK's. Finally (30a) Ogilvie (Fickle) 6'2" * gets off the mark for the season. (26p) Marsh (CAN)(SCO) 5'10" is 15/17 from the spot at 88%. (Is no longer at the club). (30a) Ogilvie (Fickle) 6'2" * is 33/44 from the spot at 75%. (31k) Lawrie (Unamb) * is 1/1 from the spot at 100%. (Is on loan in Tier 6). (33a) Black (Fickle) 6'0" * is 2/3 from the spot at 67%. Jimbokav1971
Who is from where. Nov 2034. I mentioned recently that I had never heard of Spartans FC until really recently, (after I had started this save), and to be honest I thought the only "Spartans FC" were a Maltese team. I have no idea where they're from and they're not the only side I don't know about so I thought I would have a little look. I was really just looking for a list of clubs in this league, but this page offers so much more than that, and shows the difference between the haves and have-nots, even at this level. Albion Rovers are on the outskirts of Glasgow, and not far from Airdrie. I didn't actually realise that Airdrie was there either at all, (and that's with my family coming from really quite close to there). I thought that they would have been a phoenix club or a relatively new club, but they were formed in 1882 and have a rich history and have spent lots of time in the Scottish pro structure. I'm really not sure why I have never heard of them. Auchinleck are another side/place I had never heard of until this save, but that perhaps makes more sense based on their location away from the South East outskirts of Glasgow. Bonnyrigg Rose I had heard off both in real life and in FM. No idea where they are based though. Turns out it's the outskirts of Edinburgh, and if truth be told I just realised that I wasn't entirely sure that City was Edinburgh when I first looked. Spartans FC is what started this whole post off. They are another Edinburgh side and were formed in 1951 originally as a "closed" club for only Edinburgh University graduates, (although they have since relaxed that rule). Broomfield FC are another club I had never heard of and they are from slap bang in the middle of Glasgow. They're playing at a stadium that was only built in 2026, (so doesn't exist in real life). To make things more complicated their Training Ground is at the home ground of Dumbarton FC, (where they play in real life). As if things weren't confusing enough already, between 2016 - 2021 they were based in Alloa, (back near where Tullibody is). The distances involved here aren't enormous, (Alloa to Broomhill Sports Club is 40.6 miles, but it's further than you would tink for this to happen. Berwick Rangers are definitely an ex Pro club I have heard of in real life. The only "problem" is that the little dotted line on the map is the Scottish/English border meaning that they are an English club playing in Scotland, and for anyone wondering they appear to get both English and Scottish Newgens, at a ration of approximately 1 Scot for every 2 Englishmen. Stranraer is much closer to Belfast than it is to either Glasgow or Edinburgh. (I never realised it was that far South). East Stirlingshire FC are not in Stirling, (or even in East Sterling which would technically be Tullibody or Alloa), but are based in Falkirk to the South East. Surprisingly, they seem to have always played their games in Falkirk rather than Stirling, and have ground-shared with just about all the big clubs in the area at some point or another, (and there are actually loads of clubs from here). Cowdenbeath were a big club when I was a kid. Dalbeattie Star is a club I have only heard of recently and they are almost as far South as Stranraer. Dalbeattie is actually the name of a place. (I didn't think it was). St Cuthbert Wanderers, (never heard of them), actually come from Kirkcudbright, (never heard of it). I wonder if they are the most Southern-based football team in Scotland? Certainly more Southern than Stranraer and even more Southern than Carlisle. Gala Fairydean Rovers are not a club I have ever heard of, and I have never heard of a Town/City called Gala, but I do know about a rugby club called Gala FP, (former pupils), and I expect that they are based in the Borders. That whole area is big rugby country. Jeanfield Swifts don't ring a bell at all. Have never heard of them in real life or in the game. Civil Service Strollers must have a strange DNA in the game. Workrate <10 and Pace <10? I've never heard of them but expect them to be based in Edinburgh rather than Glasgow. Yep. Hutchison Vale Community Sports club sound like the equivalent of us, (but somewhere else). Never heard of them. Somewhere more Southern? Actually they're another Edinburgh club. Here endeth the Scottish Geography lesson. (I quite enjoyed that).
Jimbokav1971
Nov 2034. Scottish Lowland League. (Tier 5). Look at the away attendance at Auchinleck! I've just gone and checked and there was 2,665 at the Albion Rovers game earlier in the season. We're 8 points clear with 2 games in hand and looking good. There is a long way still to go though and we need to remember that the goal is to win the Playoffs rather than win the league. At some point I'm going to need to rotate the squad more than I'm currently doing. Internationals. It seems that U21 matches count towards postponement opportunities but U18's don't. (I'm fine with that now I know what the score is). I haven't postponed anyway. The 3 players all play in different positions and even adding (34a) McGrandles (F.Det) * into the mix, (who will be away playing for the U18's), we still have 4 different positions in GK, WBL, MC & SC. Also it helps that only 2 of them are 1st choice. I just see this as an opportunity for a fringe player to get more game time and maybe for a player to make their debut from the bench. Goal-scoring GK's. 1 successful pen this month. (26p) Marsh (CAN)(SCO) 5'10" is 15/17 from the spot at 88%. (Is no longer at the club). (30a) Ogilvie (Fickle) 6'2" * is 34/45 from the spot at 76%. (31k) Lawrie (Unamb) * is 1/1 from the spot at 100%. (33a) Black (Fickle) 6'0" * is 2/3 from the spot at 67%. Once we get to League 2, (assuming we get there), then I will do a history of each league as and when we get there. Honestly haven't looked at anything at all with regards to Celtic/Rangers so far so it will be news to me too. There are quite a few Scottish saves going on right now. Really good value for a save with this edited database.
Jimbokav1971
Dec 2034. Scottish Lowland League. (Tier 5). We've stuttered a little this month due to a mix of International call-ups, suspensions and injuries. The fact that we extended our lead at the top of the table from 8 points to 11 shows everything is relative, (including points). Scottish Cup. (The Big one). We face Annan Athletic in the Fourth Round and they are currently 1st in League 2. We've been drawn against teams top of the league above us before though and come out on top, so it's not impossible. (The opposition are in our league). We left it late, but got the job done in the end. Goal-scoring GK's. A busy month for (30a) Ogilvie (Fickle) 6'2" * as he fails from the spot against both Cowdenbeath and St Cuthberts, but also bags a a brace against Albion Rovers. (26p) Marsh (CAN)(SCO) 5'10" is 15/17 from the spot at 88%. (Is no longer at the club). (30a) Ogilvie (Fickle) 6'2" * is 36/49 from the spot at 73%. (31k) Lawrie (Unamb) * is 1/1 from the spot at 100%. (33a) Black (Fickle) 6'0" * is 2/3 from the spot at 67%. Finances. Jimbokav1971
Jan 2035. Scottish Lowland League. (Fifth Tier). We might have dropped 5 points this month, but we're still 11 points clear at the top of the table. Scottish Cup. (The Big one). I was struggling to work out why only 370 fans turned up to watch us beat the team who are top of the table in the league above when we also have that number attending home league matches, until I remembered that we're building 100 seats and the capacity has been reduced while the working is going on...... to 370. We will play Kilmarnock in the next leg, (at home), and they are a Pro side who are currently 5th in the Premiership (The opposition are top of the league above us). We missed a pen and still won comfortably. Scottish Non League Cup. (The opposition play 1 league below us). Even a 1st half red card couldn't stop our progress. Debuts. Goal-scoring GK's. Another failure from the spot for (30a) Ogilvie (Fickle) 6'2" *. (26p) Marsh (CAN)(SCO) 5'10" is 15/17 from the spot at 88%. (Is no longer at the club). (30a) Ogilvie (Fickle) 6'2" * is 36/50 from the spot at 72%. (31k) Lawrie (Unamb) * is 1/1 from the spot at 100%. (33a) Black (Fickle) 6'0" * is 2/3 from the spot at 67%. Finances. I was really hoping for a nice Cup run and a hefty wedge of cash this season, but a home draw against a Pro Premiership Team, (when our capacity has been reduced to just 370), doesn't allow much scope for profit.
Jimbokav1971
Feb 2035. Scottish Lowland League. (Tier 5). We drop 4 more points and our lead at the top drops from 11 points to 9 points with just 5 games to play. It's at this stage of the season I plan on rotating the squad a little more to make sure our fringe players are in tip-top condition to give ourselves the best chance of not just winning the league, (which is surely a given at this stage), but also progressing through the Playoffs which as I understand it involves a 2-legged Playoff with the Champions of the Highland League, and then a 1-legged Playoff against the bottom team in League 2, (and I have no idea who that is and won't be looking until we've been crowned Champions). Scottish Cup. (The Big one). Kilmarnock are currently 5th in the Premiership and played in Europe as recently as 2 seasons ago, so we can't really have any complaints. It should be a big deal that we just competed with them. (The opposition are 4 leagues above us). It was still 0-0 with 10 mins to go and it could have gone either way, but they were too strong in the end and scored and then finished us in injury time. Scottish Non League Cup. If we get promoted then this will be the last time we enter this competition, so it makes sense to give it a proper go, (especially when we're looking to rotate the squad a little in the lead-up to the Playoffs anyway). (The opposition are 1 level below us). Pretty comfortable from start to finish. Goal-scoring GK's. 2 converted this month. (26p) Marsh (CAN)(SCO) 5'10" is 15/17 from the spot at 88%. (Is no longer at the club). (30a) Ogilvie (Fickle) 6'2" * is 38/52 from the spot at 73%. (31k) Lawrie (Unamb) * is 1/1 from the spot at 100%. (33a) Black (Fickle) 6'0" * is 2/3 from the spot at 67%. Finances. Not only are we knocked out of the Cup, but we also earned a pittance by doing so because although Kilmarnock average approx £11k-£12k gates, there were only 370 fans at our game because the tiny stadium wee have is being renovated and it currently even more tiny than it usually is. Jimbokav1971
Youth Day. Mar 2035. What am I looking for? A striker. We're properly desperate for a striker now and getting more desperate as each intake comes and goes without a proper striker arriving. (Please give me a striker). Well this is promising, (in terms of preferred positions anyway). 3x SC's and 2x AMR's. Surely 1 of them has to be good. It doesn't look like a great intake. I usually sign everyone, but I'm going to start being a little more picky. (35h) Booth. (Unamb) is (Unamb) + has (L.Det) so he's not getting a contract. (35k) Jackson.(SCO)(AUS)(Unam) is (Unamb) + has (L.Det) so he's not getting a contract. (35m) Reid. (Unamb) is (Unamb) + has (L.Det) so he's not getting a contract. (35n) Tomaszewski. Jimbokav1971
Mar 2033. Scottish Lowland League. We look like we've hit a wall and are really struggling for form at the moment. We're properly limping across the finish line after being dominant for so long. Scottish Non League Cup. (If we get promoted then we won't enter this competition again unless we get relegated, so it makes sense to give this a proper go). (The opposition are at the same level as us, but in the Highland League). United to Prevent Suicide League Cup. (If we get promoted then we won't enter this competition again unless we get relegated, so it makes sense to give this a proper go). This is a competition that we have never played in before and if I'm completely honest with you I had sort of forgotten about it and didn't realise it was coming until I saw the fixtures. The 16 clubs in the Lowland League have been split into 4 groups of 4 where each team plays the others just once, and that's all we know. Debuts. Facilities. We didn't even have the opportunity to discuss this with the board. Goal-scoring GK's. Nothing this month. (23) Brass (Bal) 6'2" is 5/8 from the spot at 63%. (Is no longer at the club). Jimbokav1971
Apr 2033. Scottish Lowland League. (Tier 5) We got there in the end, but it was far closer than it should have been. There is absolutely zero chance of us winning the Playoff the way we're playing right now. Scottish Non League Cup. Jimbokav1971
May 2035. Promotion was always the goal because this save is about getting to the top and then competing with the Old Firm, but at the same time I really don't like getting promoted out of a league without winning Cup competitions for which we will no longer be eligible after promotion. Highland/Lowlands Leagues promotion Playoff Final. 2nd Leg. We held a 4-1 advantage from the 1st leg and we held on to all of our advantage in a belter of a 2nd leg. League Two Relegation Playoff. Leg 1. Really wasn't expecting this. We absolutely battered them away from home. It was a damn good thrashing as they say! Leg 2. There were a few nervy moments when Kelty Hearts led 2-0 and brought it back to 4-2 on aggregate with 13 mins left, but (30b) McAllister(NIR)(F.Det) * sealed the deal, (and promotion to League 2), with an 84th min goal that meant they still needed 3 more to force extra time. They scored 1 more in the 91st min, but couldn't get another and we've finally made it to Scottish league 2. United to Prevent Suicide Lowland League Cup. Semi-Final. Makoto Nakamura
Congrats on promotion to the out of the box leagues! Just a shame it's at Kelty Hearts' expense, a former Lowland League side who start the game in the 3rd tier.
Jimbokav1971
Jun 2035. For the 1st time in this save we've lost players to Pro clubs and to be quite frank I expect it to really knock the stuffing out of us next season. They're some big players and we're just not even close to being able to replace them. It really makes me fear for us next season because while we have struggled defensively throughout this save, our goal-scoring prowess has often been the saving of us and without that I just think it could really hit hard. It's galling that we don't get a fee for any of them, but at the same time they've just got us promoted to League 2 (Tier 4), and we should be happy with that. (30b) McAllister(NIR)(F.Det) * has been such a big player for us despide not getting the headlines, and I can completely understand the negative fan reaction. When you see that he's earning £2,200 pw and also look at his valuation, and then consider that our total wage budget is just £6,368 pw, the you understand why he had to leave. 2 players have left and both joined Clyde who finished 8th in the Scottish Championship, (just avoiding relegation). (31j) Fullerton (Unamb) * has been the only real striker at the club for the last few years, and I really fear for us in his absence. We've got nobody anywhere near his level through the middle up front. (31i) Kelly (F.Sport) * has been 1st choice at SLC and it's a huge blow to lose both him and (31j) Fullerton (Unamb) * together. It leaves an enormous chasm to fill up front and I have no idea how we're going to fill it at this stage.

With the 3 players who have all just left us on a free, I really fear for us next season and think we might be coming straight back down again. The only saving grace is that the Relegation/Promotion Playoff might give us an escape route. Kelty Hearts have done ok, but just don't score enough goals and as a result draw games they should win. League 2 Relegation Playoffs. 2023/24. Forfar relegated. 2024/25. Spartans relegated. 2025/26. Brora Rangers. 2026/27. Elgin City relegated. 2027/28. Bonnyrigg Rose. 2058/29. Stranraer. 2029/30. Brora Rangers. 2030/31. Brora Rangers. 2031/32. Brora Rangers relegated. 2032/33. Stranraer. 2033/34. Bonnyrigg Rose relegated. 2034/35. Kelty Hearts relegated. Kelty Hearts were unlucky to even be in the Relegation Playoff this season, as they actually finished bottom on goal difference and it was a real 5 and even 6 team battle to avoid the drop deep into the season.
phnompenhandy
Johnstone Burgh. In my last save that rich side that went up like a shooting star, hit the top of League One then its bubble burst, and it went plummeting back down - same for you?

Not quite the Top of League 1, but not far off. They finished as high as 6th in League 1, but have been on the slide since.

If they send us players I will just not play them. Reputation. We're right at the bottom of the lost of Scottish clubs in the top 4 tiers by Rep, but at least we're on the list now. Jimbokav1971
Disaster. Jul 2035. We're screwed. Completely and utterly screwed. I can't see any way at all that we stay up now.
Jimbokav1971
Jul 2035. League Cup. This wasn't what I was expecting at all. Queens Park are in the Premiership, Hamilton & Queen of the South are in League One and Dumbarton are with us in League 2. I'm not surprised that we aren't scoring many goals. I am surprised that we're conceding so few. Big bid. £210k is a lot of money, but when only £55k is up front it becomes less appealing. Goal-scoring GK's. Nothing this month. Finances.
