At the very least there should be something shown in the players history to show the affiliate link in the way it does for poached players. (52d) Porojan (ROU)(Spirit) * came through the intake, but it was before we had the Romanian affiliate anyway. We had a Portugese player through either this year or last year, but there was nothing linking him to Casa Pia. We haven't had a Spanish, Dutch or Japanese player come through recently, but in any case they have literally all been added in the last 2 season. It doesn’t show if a player is poached anymore?!?!?

Jimbokav1971
May 2059. Scottish Premiership. Jimbokav1971
Jun 2059. Reputation. I really want to be winning both domestic Cups each season as well as the Premiership, but the other clubs in Scotland can be decent on their day and it's hard to progress in the later rounds of the domestic Cups because they are squeezed between the Champions League Knockout stages, (which is obviously a priority). It also asks the question of whether it's more worthwhile winning the 2 domestic Cups or progressing to the Quarters/Semi's of the Champions League. I would suggest that it's probably more beneficial, (in terms of both finances and reputation), to progress in Europe even if you don't get to the Final, but I guess we will just have to see how it goes. We're certainly not guaranteed to win the domestic trophies at this stage of the save. We still haven't popped to Continental Rep. 7,258 Tullibody 6,831 Hibs 6,805 Celtic. We've got significantly better reputation than our domestic rivals but there are still 7 European clubs with National Reputation who are above us. Fenerbahçe are the lowest ranked Continental club on 7.366. 7,366 Fenerbahçe. 7,329 Celta Vigo. 7,313 FC København 7,294 Slavia Prague. 7,281 Levante. 7,275 Basel. 7,278 Nottm Forest. 7,262 Rosenborg. 7,258 Tullibody. Although we progressed quite far, we didn't actually have an amazing season in terms of coefficient points either if you look. We only earned 1 more point than 2 years ago, despite the fact that we made it to the Quarters. The reason for this is simply that we were really poor in the Group stage and only just scraped through. To defend the other Scottish clubs a little, the reason for their lower than usual points is simply that we had more clubs playing in the Champions league than usual, (so the competition was harder and fewer points were earned). It is likely to by cyclical like that for a while until we can push through. This season for a while we are down from I think 4 or 5 in the Champions League to 2. I think we were awarded 4 previously and then has a +1 because someone won a European trophy. I'm in the Rangers branch of the save right now so unable to check I'm afraid.

Yeah, that's the reason why people who do "nation building" saves do those loan farms (buying/contracting a bunch of players to loan to other clubs), it helps giving those clubs talent they wouldn't have access, but they are a nuisance to handle, i would never try these type of saves, the closely subsiding a league i ever did in FM was buying players for overprice. I hope SI will improve the nation improvement system in FM 25 as currently things are way too static, making a league that was in the top 40 be top 10+ for 10 years should improve talent generation and sporting interest, the fact that things like game importance never change is absurd, doesn't matter how high you are able to bring the NT (even winning a few world cups) or getting players in your league earning millions of euros, it doesn't matter, the population in game world still doesn't find the career attractive so you remain a small pool of relative low ceiling good players being generated. Of course, not the case with Scotland, they are a pretty good nation for youth only because they do have the base numbers to generate top talent. I must admit that I have done that in both Iceland and Gibraltar. It just makes sense in Nations like that. Scotland is a little different in that they are not exactly a minnow, even though they are not one of the elite Nations either. Our rivals seem to have enough buying power that I don't need to worry about them. If we are successful in Europe I don't think they will be far behind. Rangers were obviously Runners Up in the Europa League in 2021/22 in real life. Rangers won the Europa League, (beating Celtic in the Final), (2037/38). Celtic were Runners up, (to Rangers), in the Europa League. (2037/38). Aberdeen were Runners Up twice in the Europa League, (2040/41 & 2045/46). Celtic won the Europa Conference, (2043/44), and were also Runners Up, (2055/56). Hibs won the Europa Conference twice, (2031/32 & 2033/34). Aberdeen won the Europa Conference, (2028/29). Ross County won the Europa Conference, (2052/53). That's a reasonable little collection of silverware for Scottish clubs..

Jimbokav1971
Aug 2059. After a holiday in real life and then a season managing Rangers in the off-shoot save, I'm back in charge of Tullibody again. Scottish Premiership. I always have ideas of an unbeaten season, (although it usually goes boobies up pretty early), and this season is no different. Our xG in the Motherwell game was 3x theirs, and we had 70% possession, but they scored 2 goals and we only scored 1. League Cup. The Reserves are looking pretty decent at the moment. Season Tickets. I don't understand why we have sold fewer season tickets. Facilities. I don't remember any upgrades in the pipeline, but I have been away from the save for a bit so maybe that's to be expected. Either way, we're having 1 of the end stands upgraded. I know it's completely cosmetic, but I actually love that this is shown in the stadium during the game. I don't think they did, (although they have been in the Premiership for 8 seasons now). I haven't checked yet, (will do in a moment), but I suspect that they're either not playing in Europe, or they were playing in Europe and crashed our early. In addition to that I also suspect that they have had slightly easier fixtures than some of the others, and they games against the big-guns might have come before or after an important European tie, (when they were weakened). I'm looking now and while they were unbeaten in my last update, they have lost 3 of their Premiership games since then. They're not playing in Europe at all, and crashed out of the League Cup in the 2nd Round, so they get all the benefits of the nice easy Group Stage, and none of the fixture backlog and fatigue of the knockout stages. Celtic, (who they have beaten twice), played in Champions League qualifying and then dropped into the Europa League Group stage. Aberdeen, (who they have beaten twice), played in Europa League qualifying and then dropped into the Europa COnference Group stage. Hibs, (who beat Airdrie), interestingly aren't in Europe this season. I think it was like I suggested. They have improved, but they've also been a little lucky with who they have played and when.

Jimbokav1971
Feb 2060. Scottish Premiership. I forgot to post the update at the start of the month, so we've actually played the 1st Premiership game of March already and that's included here. We're 16 points clear at the top of the table now and have won 11 of our last 12 league games. In fact we've only lost won and drawn 2 of our last 18 league games, (and that's decent in any league). Airdrie, (who started the season really well), have won only won 4 games in 14 over the last 4 months and look set to miss out on a top half finish. Ross County, (who have won a European title in the save), are probably the biggest and most consistent improvers over the course of the save. UEFA Champions League. We've had form over the last few seasons of coming good in 2nd legs after drawing at home. We manage to do the same again here against PSG. Scottish Cup. Jimbokav1971
The Rangers branch of the save is well and truly done and dusted, so this is back on and I will be staying here until FM25. The last save date I've got for Tullibody is 1st Jul 2059. Time for a quick recap, (for me as much as you). ' We've been in the Premiership for 15 seasons now and have won 5 league titles, including the last 4 on the bounce, (so we're starting to dominate domestically it seems). Hibs & Celtic have been our main rivals for the last few seasons, but before the 2046/47 season, Rangers won 14 of 16 league titles, so their finance driven fall from grace is still relatively recent. Speaking of Rangers, (and in case you missed the other branch of this thread), their fall from grace has been pretty stratospheric. They won their last league title in 2045/46 and then finished 2nd and 3rd the following 2 seasons, before entering Administration in 2048/49 and being relegated to the Championship. They sorted themselves out, (sort of), and bounced back at the... 4th time of asking, but they only managed to stay in the Premiership for 5 seasons before they were relegated again. There is lots wrong with Rangers at the moment, but they can be saved and the reason I know this is because I went and did it not once but twice, so if you are interested in a bit of a change from Youth Only, but still want to read mys stuff, then this next thread might interest you. I can tell you I have a LOAD of fun playing it. We've won 4 Scottish Cups, (including 3 on the bounce), and have made 1 more Final, but interestingly not made the Final in either of the last 2 seasons. We've won 3 League Cup titles in the last 8 years, and made 3 more Finals in the last 13 years, but I really don't pay much attention to this. It really is just a bunch of pre-season friendlies, (even when we win it). In terms of the squad, (this is going to take some getting used to again), this is what we have. 1st Team. B Team/U21's. U18's. If you're new to the save and wondering why we have so many players on our books, it's because we're playing a Youth Only save so the only players we're allowed to sign are products of our Youth Academy, although we can re-sign them if they leave, just so long as they are products of our Academy, (and that includes youngsters who are poached from our Academy and come through elsewhere). More than that though, developing players who likely aren't going to be good enough for us is still important because they can still be sold on to generate a profit which allows us to refuse transfer offers on our better players. Which takes us on to money. We have almost £200M in the bank, but the Rangers branch of the save is proof that it can vanish pretty quickly if you start bring in expensive signings. It should also be pointed out that even with the huge number of players at the club, we're still only spending just over £500,000 pw on wages, and my last little challenge in the Rangers thread was to being their spending down from just over £2M pw to just under £1M pw. If you're wondering how we're able to keep wages down so low, it's simply a matter of paying more at the outset and signings them to long-term contracts with a +3 option on top of that. The players are keen to sign because you're paying them more than they're worth, (at the time they're signing the contract), and I'm also very generous to bonus payments to both player and agent, but the downside is that after a 3 or even a 5 year deal when I trigger the +3 it could mean that they've been on the same contract for 8 years and obviously there is a fair bit of growth in a long period like that. I don't think the game has quite got the player happiness thing right in this respect, but more likely all the positives of playing at their favoured club, with many of their favoured personnel, the club regularly winning things and me just telling them that they have quite a long time left on their contract means that they never really seem to get as unhappy as they possibly should. I think a significant part of this is that I also look after agents, (did I mention I regularly like to offer more in agent s fees than requested during negotiations?) The amount of money we have saved in this save by using these tactics is enormous, but I think that we're sort of getting to the point that bigger clubs are going to start throwing money at us, the players are going to start getting more accurate ideas of what their worth, and we could be forced to sell to alleviate unhappiness but also build income again as our wage spend increases. Just going to go through a few of our better players to remind me/us who's who. (43n) Welsh (M.Pro) 6'4" * came through the Academy when we were in the Championship, and although he has been called up to multiple Scotland NT squads, he hasn't been capped, he has scored 104 career goals. Hang on a minute. I've got in my records that he's scored 117 from 147 pens at 80%, so he's 13 pens short here? Yeah, he is. I played another full season after this. I played the 2059/60 season and he scored 13 more penalties. he should be on 117 career goals. We also did the treble! Don't tell me I have somehow lost the save!!! Oh thank God. No, I haven't lost it. I just missed it when I was looking for the most recent Tullibody save. I won't bother correcting the above. All this the same except that we also did a treble last season, winning all 3 domestic competitions, (for the 1st time). (51b) Kirkwood (Res) * is the 1st choice WBL. (52b) Hastings (F.Det) 5'9" * is only a 2nd Team MC I think. (52d) Porojan (ROU)(Spirit) * plays on the right of a front 3, (because we don't use wingers). (51c) Mackie (Pro) (IRL) * is our main man up front. It's a shame we don't have any "Big" strikers, because that last season at rangers was ridiculous with those 2 Big lads rotating.
Jimbokav1971
Squad Depth. Jun 2060. Disaster. I've made a huge mistake and it's going to be a costly one. A really costly one. Jimbokav1971
Observations. Jun 2060. What I've noticed since returning to the Tullibody save, (from Rangers), is that although we have lots of quality and that's amazing, there are loads of players who I actually don't like for the roles I want to play them in. I know I've been sort of shoe-horning players into roles and positions all the way through this save, but when you come from doing what I did recently with Rangers, (almost having 2 different strikers score 40+ goals in a season), then it sort of highlights the gulf between having players in certain positions who can "do a job" and having players have have been recruited specifically with that role in mind. The biggest things I've noticed are the WB roles and also the central striker role. Where as I recruited 2 Big lads to play for Rangers, (and they performed amazingly), I don't have any big lads at Tullibody and my success at Rangers has led me to slightly review things to such an extent that the 2nd Team pairing of (47b) Smith (Res) playing centrally and (47a) Currie (Bal) 6'1" * playing on the right of a front 3, has now been reversed to (47a) Currie (Bal) 6'1" * playing centrally and (47b) Smith (Res) playing on the right. With regards to our WB's, I haven't been able to change the players we have, but the difference in athletic ability, (in fact all ability), between the Tullibody players here and the Rangers players I've just left behind, is absolutely enormous! Unfortunately there isn't any way around this because we have to rely on what comes through the intake, but it does at least explain why we seem to have been struggling in Europe just a little in this branch of the save. I recently lost my RB on a Bosman similar to this (he had the dreaded 'considering his options' tag so I was willing to let him walk as he was worth more to me playing for an extra season than what I'd get selling him), anyway, I'm fairly certain the game didn't notify me that clubs were offering him a contract when there was six months to go as I only noticed he had signed a deal elsewhere when doing my January squad rejig. So if it makes you feel any better (unless someone can come in a correct me) you probably didn't miss the notification, you simply weren't told. *Not keeping an eye on expiry dates is entirely on you though!
Jimbokav1971
Jun 2060. Reputation. We've finally popped to Continental Rep. Facilities. Something that I've heard or read recently, (but I can't remember where), is that the issues with being unable to increase Youth Facilities might actually be liked to Training Facilities already being maxed out at L20. The suggestion is that irrespective of what the level of the Youth Facilities at the club, you can't upgrade them if the Training Facilities are maxed out at L20. So despite our Rep popping to Continental, what we might actually be waiting for is for our Training Facilities to be downgraded, and at that time I should let them stay downgraded and instead upgrade Youth Facilities. Yep. I was just rushing through this last season to get back to the Rangers save. That'll teach me! It's not even that I didn't offer him a new contract. I'm almost positive that we had a +3 option on him that I just needed to trigger, but for some reason you can trigger some clauses but not all at the beginning of the last season. I've never understood why some can't be triggered there and then but the majority can. I've just re-loaded the save from Jul 2059, and sure enough there was a +3 option on him. You can clearly see here though that I wasn't able to trigger the +3 clause at that time, (and that's when I want to do it), and I obviously completely forgot to come back to it because.... well why would I, in my head I do all this sort of Admin at the start of the season so I can just enjoy the season itself. The fact that I wasn't able to for some reason, (sometimes it isn't available until a week before they can offer him a contract in Jan), must have passed me by and I just played the full next season without checking. Something similar almost happened in the Rangers branch of the save so this isn't a one-off and I suppose I should set myself a diary not or manually check a 2nd time on 1st Dec or something. Either way I can't allow this to continue.

Jimbokav1971
Aug 2060. Scottish Premiership. I'm not sure why we have played the least games when as Champions we've qualified for the Group Stage of the Champions League directly, and we seem to do better when the fixtures come thick and fast than we do when the opposition has time to prepare. We're going to rotate anyway so the more games in a month the better for us. Weirdly though, we lost both our 1st Team games, (played at weekend), and won the 2nd Team game, (played midweek). Ross County, (surprisingly), are the only unbeaten side, so we're actually not trailing our main competitors by as much as might be expected after 2 early losses. Jimbokav1971
Sep 2060. Scottish Premiership. This is a really good month in the league with the only dropped points coming away to top of the table Aberdeen, where we needed a late 87th min GK pen to deliver us a more than deserved share of the spoils. In actual fact we should have won, but if you can't win, then at least we didn't lose. If you are looking at Celtic down in the bottom half in surprise, last season's 1-5 went as follows. Tullibody Hibs lost in Champions League qualifying & have lost their 1st 2 Europa League Group games. Ross County have won their 1st 2 Europa League Group games. Hearts progressed through 6 Europa League Qualifying games without losing and have won their 1st 2 Europa League Group games. Celtic won in the 3rd Qualifying Round of the Europa Conference, but then lost in the 4th Qualifying round against AaB of Denmark. We only had 5 European spots last season, (and only have 5 again this season). With the likes of Celtic crashing out in Europa Conference qualifying, and Hibs struggling in their Champions League Group, it could be an uphill task to improve it for next season without something special from ourselves and the others. Rangers were promoted from the Championship via the Playoffs last season and this season they are playing Selfridge 6'5" on the left wing. Honestly, they deserve everything they get. UEFA Champions League. What a tough start we've had in the Champions League, but that's the nature of the Champions League right? It's meant to be this hard..... isn't it? League Cup. We're into the next round. Internationals. Transfers. Goal-scoring GK's. Jimbokav1971
Nov 2060. Scottish Premiership. After a slow start to the season we've risen to 2nd after some consistent form, and sit just 1 point behind leaders Hearts, (who have a game in hand). Celtic have sneaked into the top half of the table. Rangers have fallen away and are now 5 points adrift at the bottom of the table. UEFA Champions League. We've not done as well this month, despite the games appearing to be easier in terms of opponent, and also both played at home. It's hard to estimate how we will do over the coming fixtures, but the goal is always to aim for the Playoffs and go from there. League Cup. We're into another Final. Goal 50 2060. Internationals. Goal-scoring GK's. 1 more goal, (from 2 pens taken) this month, brings (43n) Welsh (M.Pro) 6'4" * to 124 career goals. (23) Brass (Bal) 6'2" is 5/8 from the spot at 63%. (Is no longer at the club). Jimbokav1971
Dec 2060. Scottish Premiership. The busier our fixture list get, the better we seem to perform. We've had loads of injuries and suspensions and we've had to field some really weak players at times, but 17 points from a possible 21 in December will do me fine. We're top of the table by 2 points from from Aberdeen and have 2 games in hand. We have 3 games in hand on Ross County who are 5 points further back. UEFA Champions League. A late late late goal earned us a point against Everton, but there is still work to be done to make the Playoffs. League Cup. We make it 3 League Cup titles on the bounce. Debuts. Awards. Goal-scoring GK's. 4 successful pens for (43n) Welsh (M.Pro) 6'4" * this month bring him to 128 career goals. 11 goals for the season before the turn of the year is very decent indeed. He's only hit double-figures in a season on 4 occasions in his career, and his most goals in a season is 15, so he's on to comfortably beat that if our form continues. (23) Brass (Bal) 6'2" is 5/8 from the spot at 63%. (Is no longer at the club). (23) Ewing (Bal) 6'1" is 17/20 from the spot at 85%. (Is no longer at the club). Jimbokav1971
Jan 2061. Scottish Premiership. We're 4 points clear at the top and we have 2 games in hand on Aberdeen. We always score lots of goals, but I notice that we've conceded the least goals in the league at the moment and that's nor the norm at all. UEFA Champions League. We play Sevilla in the next round and it's not going to be easy to get past them. They're currently top of La Liga and haven't finished outside the Top 4 in 15 years. Scottish Cup. We're into the next round. Debuts. Transfers. Goal-scoring GK's. Well this really wasn't ideal. He hit 11 goals before the New Year, and then immediately got injured. Jimbokav1971
Feb 2061. Scottish Premiership. We lose 2 of our opening 4 game at the start of the season, and then we only lose 1 game out of the following 21 games, before our next game sees us lose at bottom of the table...... Rangers. Their GK made save after save after save, and of course theyr scored from their only 2 shots on target. UEFA Champions League. I mentioned that Sevilla are a big club in my save, but Real Madrid are still Real Madrid. They may only sit 3rd in La Liga right now, but they have won the last 3 La Liga titles on the bounce, and 5 of the last 6. They were beaten Finalists in the Champions League last season, and won it twice recently in 51/52 and 52/53. They're going to be even tougher than Sevilla to overcome. Scottish Cup. THis loss is down to me i'm afraid. I opted to play the 2nd Team, (for a game on a saturday), so that the 1st Team would be fresh to play in the Champions League during the week, but what with missing our 1st choice GK and also 2 defenders meant that the 2nd Team was really weakened at the back and ultimately wasn't strong enough. Celtic completely deserved the win and I can have no complaints. Goal-scoring GK's. In the absence of (43n) Welsh (M.Pro) 6'4" * through injury, (55e) McLean (F.Pro) 6'0" * came in and grabbed his 1st career goal. (23) Brass (Bal) 6'2" is 5/8 from the spot at 63%. Although Sam Murkin got them promoted from the Championship, they struggled in the Premiership under him and sacked him at the beginning of December. He preferred a 4231 formation that often saw Selfridge play wide. The new manager Danny Wilson, (no, not that Danny Wilson), prefers a 442, (so Selfridge is playing up front again rather than out wide), and although he has scored 2 goals in 5 games since the change of management, (and style), Rangers have only won 1 of these 5 games.
