I wanted to start a new career thread now that baseball season is over, and OOTP24 is unlikely to be my focus for the time being. It's going to be just monthly updates, but unlike previous saves, I'm going to be playing without instant result, and I'm going to be focusing on playing with my tactics.

Why Weston-super-Mare?

I chose WsM because I loved the color scheme of black, white, and gold. I also think it makes for a fun save going from a mid-table team in the 6th tier to hopefully eventually playing in the Premier League.

Day 1 on the Job

We officially take over on July 3rd, giving us just 32 days before our first competitive match.

Tactics:

I'll be alternating between these.

The Squad/Key Players:

As you'll notice, none of these players are defenders. That's because we only have 2 center backs, and they're not very good in the game.

Day 1 on the Job part 2

These are the staff members I'm hiring. A total of 350 p/w is being spent on 5 members of staff.

Pre-Season Transfers and Results:

I am a big fan of Evans, he's a physical CB with great determination and leadership. I doubt he gets any better with our poor facilities, but for 20 pounds per appearance, I think that's a steal.

Lui Bradbury has been signed to be our creative midfielder, and with great finishing, passing, and vision he can play that role well.

One of a few free loans we brought in. He's hopefully just going to be a backup.

Another free loan. He actually will play quite a few matches for us.

And our final free loan signing. Will be a decent rotation option with our plethora of cms.

Lynas comes in as a backup RB option. We needed depth there, as we looked to rotate a spot where we needed lots of energy from.

The results are mixed, but we played a backup side against Alfreton.

Match 1 of Hart's tenure at home vs Havant & Waterlooville

Starting XI:

Result:

A great result after switching to the Christmas Tree formation. Both new signings in midfield scoring, with Finnegan scoring two great goals from distance.

Match 2 away to Tonbridge

Starting XI:

Sticking with the formation that won us the game last week.

Result:

We threw it away in the end. A goal in extra time, and missing a penalty that would've been the final kick of the game.

Match 3 away to Bath

Starting XI:

Result:

I'm at a loss for words. Game 3 in the save and we have come back like Liverpool vs Barcelona. To be fair, all of their goals came from corners, so that makes our defense look a little bit better. Opi Edwards was incredible in this one, and I'm into this save already.

Match 4 at home vs Slough

Starting XI:

Result:

Another match where we score 3, and another where we almost throw it away at the end. But 3 points are 3 points.

Match 5 away to Farnborough

Folivi scored the 3 easiest goals of his life. 2.13 XG on those 3 shots alone, all assisted by Reggie Young.

A very solid win, although we did still almost throw it away. Once we improve in defense next season, we will be much better.

With the first month of the season done, I'm going to make updates slightly shorter, just showing results, key performances from players, and the league table/cup draws.

New Signings

We finally have a starting-caliber LB. I'm excited to see what Lawton can do in his first season here.

With our starting ST injured, I looked to the loan market for our new #9. Matthews has determination issues, but I think his pace and dribbling ability will be suited well to the DLF role.
